4/3 vs Ap Help please!

I am a disney novice so any input would be helpful.
We have a trip planned for March on the 4/3 plan. I was thinking about upgrading to an AP. Does anyone know what the price difference would be or even if you can do this? I was hoping that it is as I would love to plan a trip for DH and I later on in the year and possibly using an AP code for hotel. Also, if you have an AP can you still have the dining plan? I am assuming yes. Any input as to the pros and cons of my thinking would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!:)

1. Does anyone know what the price difference would be? - depends. How much have you spend on tickets now, did you have park hopper and what about water park option? take whatever you pd for that ticket w/ all the extras and subtract if from AP rate which is currently: $489 The difference is what you will pay to 'upgrade'.

2. even if you can do this? most definately. it is done all the time. You have 14 days from the first date of use of any MYW ticket to upgrade. you will get full 'credit' for the amount you paid for your ticket even if you have used up all the days.

3. if you have an AP can you still have the dining plan? yes. if u do 4/3 deal w/ dining you can keep the dining plan and use it all trip even if you upgrade to a AP on the first day. Just DO NOT let the guest services rep keep your KTTW card, thats where your credits are, trust me that is a hassle, happened to us in September when we upgraded to AP's. Also AP holders now have the option to purchase dining plan w/ most room ressies. I am not sure if this is 100% of the time but I have seen it offered 9 out of 10 times.

Thanks! I figured out the upgrade cost so it seems to be worth our while price wise. We love the dining plan and hope that we can get it our next trip as well.
