2010 Gay Day at Food & Wine date set

My dear friends,

Just got the email from my friend, DJ, the mastermind behind the Mini Gay Day at the Food & Wine Festival. He has set the 2010 date for October 16, 2010. For those of you on the Facebook, he has group set up.

I personally love this date. Bruce and I will be celebrating 4 years together on Oct 15, 2010, please God. Sure wish I had a 12 month window at my home DVC resort instead of 11.

Glad to see this was posted real early! We're currently in planning mode for my 50th next year. We weren't planning on arriving until the 17th for a 10 day stay, but maybe we can adjust to take in the "mini gay day"!

With it being a new tradition, I doubt it's gotten a whole lot of notice from the outside venues yet.

That being said, I actually know a couple of special event promoters online, I might have to pass the info on to them :thumbsup2

Thanks! I just did my first IF&WF this past October (loved it! Def going back again!) and it would be great to meet people to do it with. I vacation all the time by myself so would like to stay informed!!

JUST my luck, I miss it by ONE day! :sad1:We LEAVE on the 16th!! NO way around it either. It takes a whole day to drive back and then my daughters will spend the night, get up and drive 3 hours to their homes. Oh well, have fun everyone!! ;)

I haven't heard anything yet, but the weekend before is Orlando Pride if you will be in town then.

Who all from the DIS is planning to go to this? I'm going through WDW withdrawal and thinking of maybe hopping down for it. Since I have an AP this year I'd like to make the most of it. I definitely plan to come down during the holidays to see the parks decorated. Maybe I'll do this also. Can catch food and wine and MNSSHP!

Hey 'neighbor'! My partner and I will be there. Although I haven't figured out exactly what "the event" is! (Kinda like all the television previews we've been seeing about "the event"!) "This e-mail is not the Event"

We WILL be in EPCOT that day (acually have the Grand Marnier tasting scheduled), but then we have dinner reservations at AKL's Sanaa (rescheduled to that day due to other scheduling adjustments due to F&W events). Don't know if there's anything 'formally' planned or not. But I just couldn't keep the day open on our schedule any longer. It's only 6 weeks away, you'd think we'd know SOMETHING by now!! Unless I'm just missing it.

Well the stars aligned for this one...Between a cheep rate at French Quarter - (BY Far my favorite resort) plus having a travel certificate and cheap airfare I can officially confirm my presence there the 15-18th! Just a quick weekend trip! Bring on the food and wine!!!

As luck would have it, I too will be missing this event (dagnabbit!), but will be at F&W in two weeks!!! I'll be there the 1st through the 10th.

I agree with Billy, that every day is a gay day at food and wine, and so, if anyone else is going to be there the first week, we should make our own event! :cool1:

Mike, if your schedule permits, I'll come by and say hi, and I'll wear my Cedar Point t-shirt!

NEW INFORMATION! NEW INFORMATION!

My friend, DJ, has "declared" the first "official" meet. It will be cocktails at Rose & Crown at 5.30pm on the 16th. I hope they will be there for awhile as I have tickets to the Kona Brewery beverage seminar at the Festival Center. We, as the DisBoard members, can set up our own meetup, similar to the one we had at MK in June, among others. I still have lots of nametags left from that meetup.
