does anyone have any idea what typical settings THEY use when taking pictures in front of the castle ( f-stop or shutter speed? ) ... I've gotten some pretty decent pictures in front of the castle, but was curious as I'm playing more and more with these... ( surely they don't just use Auto? )

There were some interesting (read informative, perhaps controversial ;) ) threads about the Disney Photopass Photographers maybe a year or so ago. Maybe someone who remembers them could post links.

In talking with a few photopass photographers over the last few trips, most of them use the pre programed ICON modes, so the camera is actually choosing everything. One guy at EPCOT a few years back told me they are trained to use the ICON (pre set) modes. Many of them aren't actually "photographers". Though I have run into a few that are big into photography and will use aperture priority.

okay, so it CAN be up to the photographer if they have the knowledge.
My last trip ( March 2008 ) I ran into a photographer at AK who saw that I had a Canon Rebel and confessed that he wanted to buy this for home so he asked to try it out and took some shots of us with it :)

I'm guesing the main difference between most PP photographers and any random guest you could ask for a picture is that the PP photos get those snazy outfits that we are all secretly jealous of... :)
