I have a Canon Powershot A590 IS camera, overall I am happy with it.

Has anyone had any luck taking outdoor night shots with auto-focus using the A590?

I had an older Powershot camera (can't remember the model), it required 4 AA batteries, but the the pictures it took at night were amazing. That camera eventually died, but it took a lot of beatings. When I looked for a new camera, I did not think twice about getting a Powershot again.

Are the lower quality pictures due to the A590 only requires a 2 AA? :confused3 We will be going to DW in early December and I am actually thinking of buying a new camera, because I am so unhappy with the night pictures. Does anyone else have the same problem?? Any thoughts would be appreciated. :thumbsup2

Can you share with us some of the problem pictures?

I have that camera and haven't seemed to have issues taking night pics (course I will admit I rarely use the AUTO setting anymore and keep it on Manual- but I do auto focus more often than manual)

Okay here are a few I've taken with that camera- I couldn't tell you what specific settings I used though... (and I know several are not officially "night" but more reduced light) except I didn't use flash for any of them

I think I already deleted my night time Disney pictures and I don't have a photobucket account. I guess I will need to work on that.

Thanks to both posters for your thoughts.
