Question about the Dining Plan

We purchased the deluxe dining plan. There are 4 in our family

On our last day - if we were to have say 8 credits left (4 adult / 4 children) would we be able to go to a CS and get 8 meals (4 adult / 4 children) to go? Or would they limit us to 4 meals (2 adult / 2 children)?

Since we are driving (16 hour drive), I would like to stop at Earl of Sandwich on our way and use unused credits for sandwiches to eat later. Florida has some nice rest stops. Last year we took a ball for our DDs to kick around, and it would be nice to have lunch during that break as well. Just curious if we would be able to use all our credits or not. Or if I'd have to get in line and use 4, and then my DH get in line and use 4?

The actual procedure is that you cannot use more credits in one transaction than you have people on your reservation - so you could only use four credits at one time. You'd have to go through the line twice, or you could try explaining to a cashier BEFORE you get the food what it is you'd like to do and see if they'll accommodate you.

I can't imagine the deluxe plan would be of value from a moneysaving aspect if you are going to have 8 credits left over to use for CS, but your mileage may vary if you are planning to purchase it mostly for the convenience factor.

I don't know how many actual credits we will have left. Last year we had 8 left over when we checked out, so I was using that specific # as an example. However, when I added up our receipts for meals, snack & beverages last year - we still came out ahead.

In this case my thoughts were more convenience of eating on the way home at rest stops to unwind - instead of resteraunts. If we had credits left over again - would be a nicer to use them than pay out of pocket. DH is a big eater, and could easily eat two sandwiches though. :)

We just went to WDW this past September and also had the Dxdp. At the end of the day we winded up having MANY credits left over (don't ask me how.. I swore I planned out each perfectly!). We went to Earl on our last day and they let us trade in all our credits for sandwiches for the ride home. We left with 7 sandwiches and the rest of the credits we had left they let us turn into snack credits (1 CS = 3 snacks)

Idk if what they did was wrong, but they didn't even question it, they actually encouraged me to use them up!

That was a yummy car ride back to PA!!
