Last cruise I go button pins from Micheals and put DIS mickey ears in them with the date of the cruise in the ears and you DIS board name in the the face area.. I had several who didn't even pick them up.. I for one would like one and hopefully others on the grou;p will join in to get one too. I just know my luggage is going to be overweight being we have to bring warmer clothes. No shorts and sundresses this trip. Any day we have 50 to 60 degree weather I think, it's Alaska weather. But, is it going to feel the same? All I can say is, LAYERS.

Casualness
While shopping yesterday I heard more than one person mentioning they were wearing jeans to church today- not an unusual thing here on the west coast. It just surprised me for Easter attire.
One of the hardest things for me to get used to when we moved here was the informalness of it all. East coast/southern clothes for church on Sunday were Christmas attire here. I felt overdressed until I figured it out and modified.
That's not to say people do not dress nicely here, just that there is a chic casual look. So be prepared for things to be more casual from our family.
Hubby doesn't even own a suit anymore. Except on Christmas he would be overdressed wearing one. There has been no need to replace his old one. Since his gallbladder surgery, he has been shrinking sizes. Hate to invest in a suit until he is done shrinking. Still thinking about tux rental (if I can find a nice dress.)
For ds17 that means we can get him to wear dress pants and a nice shirt. On formal night that will include a tie, no jacket. His interview look. We're happy he will wear the tie.
Both the guys found flannel dress shirts for their Alaskan look in case there is no pirate night.
DD9 will wear any dress that swirls when you turn, any chance she gets. Typical 9 yr old that loves dress up. A friend is into ballet so she inherits her "benefit event" dresses on a regular basis. She did not need dinner dresses, just everything else got too short in the last two months.
Me- I still have not even seen a dress I would wear to church back east let alone anything to wear if hubby was in a tux. Those mall stores are over an hour farther away. I will try, but the clock is ticking.
Weather
Yesterday was the first day Seattle hit 70 this year. It was a beautiful day with not a cloud in the sky. The news commented that it was the warmest day so far this year.
It was also one of the few times we have been over 60 so far as well.
I've been wearing short sleeves since we started hitting the low 50's.
So how does that translate--I went shopping for new clothes as the kids have grown again. Bought shorts and short sleeved tops. By May, my kids are usually trying to wear shorts. Shorts here means capris except for July and August when it hits the 80's. Then it really means shorts.
For me, I am thinking layers means short sleeves and a nice light shawl in the evenings. Maybe a fleece for when we go to the glacier. I will pack one sweater just in case.
Lands End sells a coat called the navigator. It's good for rain. My dd9 has one with a removable fleece liner.
My winter raincoat is jacket length with light liner. I add a fleece during winter. In spring I skip the fleece. Now it is short sleeves and this raincoat.
Light drizzle all day for rain in rainforests, not the heavy deluge you get when it rains down south.
My mom from Florida calls it "damp cold" from November to April. She borrows a sweatshirt jacket when she visits from April to June.
I hope that helps in the packing department.
I saw someone buying rain pants on the main boards- even hubby who works outside only uses his for work maybe three times a year. You won't need them.

We were just in Whistler the first week of April and the skiing was awesome. They kept getting snow at night and were definitely predicting an extended season, but don't worry, it is confined to the mountains. If you're not planning to ski you shouldn't need any warmer clothing than you bring on the cruise. It is really clear, much warmer, and not snowy in the village. I bet it'll be gorgeous by the end of May/early June. The village is fun, scenic and sometimes has awesome events going on.

For the person doing the FE list-- there is a possibility our room number may be changing.
We realized we had one of the coveted (by families) connecting rooms and do not need a connecting room.
So we called DCL and told them if it helped out someone we would be willing to switch rooms.
We will find out at check in if we have been moved out of 7007 or not.
We will be at the meet and greet to give the update so everyone has our room number for the FE.

Okay, we have a hotel for Sunday to Tuesday at Sutton Place.
Is anyone else there? Good deal for our room through hubby's work.
He may be sneaking on here soon. If he does you'll know because he is NWDad.
Still have to get our Amtrak tickets, but will do that at the station this week. I have some questions to ask so we will have a field trip there, (beautiful building)
Now I still have to arrange the doggie babysitter. This one might be the hardest of them all.

Oh- we also got the doggie babysitter lined up.
The doors on the ship have a fish decoration off to the side that the CM's use to leave you information.
A fish extender is something you hang off of your fish. There are different designs, homemade very creative (or bought off ebay like ours- but custom designed). It seems to be a DCL exclusive thing.
Groups of people meet on the boards (like here) and agree to exchange little gifts with each other throughout the cruise.
That's all I know as this is my first DCL cruise.

If you do a quick search you'll come up with lots of threads regarding how to make or buy fish extenders and FE gift ideas. We haven't been on DCL since 2005 and I don't think the FE idea had really taken off - or door decorating, for that matter.
The two times we were on DCL it was the Wonder - it's a beautiful, very manage-ably sized ship. It's like WDW though - you can't do *everything*...

Any tips...suggestions...must dos?:goodvibes
The must-dos depend on what you like to do. There's such an array of activities that fit every age group, personality, and lifestyle (from relaxing in the spa to dancing in a nightclub). However, if you like to laugh, the crew "talent" show on the last night is a must-see in my book!!
We found it very helpful to bring a highlighter to mark the activities we want to do each day in the daily Navigators (a newsletter you receive each night with tomorrow's schedule, restaurant hours, ashore times, etc). We also bring a power strip to use in the cabin because there are very few outlets and we get sick of unplugging and resetting everything.
I thoroughly believe in the power of being informed & prepared, so ask anything! :thumbsup2

Hi, we have just booked this cruise few days ago; and this will be our first Disney cruise. (YAY!!) We will be travelling with my 3.5 yr old DH and 2 yr old DS and we'll be staying in cabin 6605. Is it too late to join the FE exchange? (I didn't even know what FE was until I started reading some posts yesterday; and it is such a neat and fun idea, especially for the little ones.) However, it's totally understandable if we won't be join since we're so close to the departure date already.

Yes, there is a formal night and you can be fancy or not. Some people wear long gowns and tuxedos and other just nice dress cloths and jacket for the men.
Palo's is the only restaurant that you would need a reservation for and if you think you would like to dine there you could check to see if there are any available or right after you board there will be the opportunity to make a reservation. All other dining you automatically have a spot reserved.

This week - actually on Tuesday we'll break the 500-hour mark until we set sail! Does anyone else have the ShipMate app on their smartphone? I have a G2 and it's a nice little thing that will set you up with the itinerary, maps of each deck, excursion info and a countdown - highly recommend so far, I've heard good things this app being useful on the CruiseCritic boards for other ships so I thought I'd give it a try. Several suggest putting your phone in airplane mode (non-transmitting) and you can use at on board for maps and the ole' travel alarm clock. I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait!!!

Hi all:cool1:
Is the term Samrt phone an oxymoron or what.. It is only as smart as the user..:rotfl: I just loaded the ship mate app for android and it is pretty good.. It even gives the position of the ship and is good for all the ships and different cruise lines--but best of all it is FREE.. I googled it as I was having problems on cruise critic finding it.. Actually went to the market and typed it in.. If you have an iphone or android it is well worth it..
Jamespirate:
p.s They need a totem pole to represent the Alaska cruise on here..
Don't have a smartphone cause it would make me feel stupid. Instead I have Steph to keep me up-to-date on things! :rolleyes1

If anyone is still looking for a reasonable hotel the night before the cruise, I used Priceline and ended up getting Coal Harbour the night before the cruise for $132 (with tax). I also have an entertainment book, so I will get reimbursed $20 with a mail in rebate. It was the 4 star hotel listed for that date. Very excited!

Well, I originally volunteered to make tags and than it sounded like someone else was going to do it. Didn't want to step on anyones toes if they really wanted to do it. Did you get any response as to who wanted one and who didn't. Looks like if everyone wanted one there would be over 90. Now I have my brain cells flowing

Hello all,
I've been reading a blog by someone posting from onboard the Wonder repositioning cruise. She is taking a B2B and will also be on the May 3rd Alaskan cruise. Hopefully she'll be blogging that too.
Some of you may have heard the rumor that there might not be a Pirate night on the Alaskan cruises. (Too cold on deck, they can't have fireworks, pirates in Alaska doesn't make sense...) Apparently DCL is not sure either because some of the booking operators say yes and some no. Well, this blogger asked the Wonder Head of Food & Beverage about it and this is what he told her.
"On the Alaska cruises they will have a warm specialty drink every night. Instead of the Pirate Night menu there will be a Taste of Alaska menu. The Pirate Night dessert buffet will be in Beach Blanket Buffet, like it was last night (too cold to do it on deck!). And on the day we cruise Tracy Arm Fjord there will be a BBQ lunch available on deck 9."

Ha! Great minds think alike! I was just reading Laura's blog and came over to post the exact same quote! :) I'm so glad she's posting from the inaugural cruise! I feel I'll be better prepared by reading about her & Deb's experiences. :goodvibes

Gonecruisin, I posted an old button/pin I did for the last cruise but, due to my health I have not had the time to do them for everyone.. I have not had any response for the tags and it would not be a bad idea to just do peel and sticks for the meet and greets.. You have too much do as it is to get ready for the cruise.. I may have broke my foot and will find out when I go to the doc in a couple of days.. I have had a boot on my foot for the last 3 cruises.. Not this time I hope.. At least I will not have to miss the beach at Castaway Cay.lol

I see you are from Yukon. I'm teaching a class to 3rd - 5th graders on the Klondike Gold Rush. The original teacher had to move after the 2nd week, since I was learning a bit about it for our trip, I became the new teacher.
Last week the kids wore weighted backpacks and hiked the Chilkoot Trail by way of an obstacle course around campus and over the big toy. Two "died" by misjudging a jump and falling down a huge crevass (4 inches off the curb). One decided to give up the trip due to the first trip over being so hard.
In class tomorrow we make boats from craft sticks to "travel" from Bennett Lake to Dawson City.
Could you give me a current weather report from the Yukon as an "official eyewitness" ?

Hi Everyone,
I saw the Disney Wonder at Canada Place this morning as I was coming to work !
What port arrival time did everyone choose ?
We chose 11:30 am since we are local.
Can't wait to explore the ship & have lunch before everyone boards.
Only 3 more weeks...yippee
I think I missed the info on the M&G.
When & where are we having it ?

the current weather in Whitehorse at 8:00 pm is 8 degrees celsius, That converts to 46 degrees fahrenheit. the sun is now setting at about 10:00 pm.

Seems the ship will not be doing the inside passage after all,. It is going west around Vancouver Island based on today's reports.
A positive is that means we will going through the Juan de Fuca straight. I am going to do some checking, but I think that means we might see the local orca pods on the day we board!!
Time to start looking for my binoculars. Will need them to see any wildlife from sea, Plus I wanted them anyway.
Saw our 3 neighborhood bald eagles this afternoon. It was wet and rainy at noon and warm and sunny by 3pm. Enough to make me want short sleeves after the chilly morning. Last year I was going sleeveless by now.
I expect the first sunburn of the year tomorrow. (redheads don't tan they burn and peel) Off to find the sunhats to avoid scalp burn. School is having a fundraiser for Skin so soft sunscreen/insect repellent. Might buy some for our trip.
Here is tonight's weather report. Short and sweet. http://www.komonews.com/weather/

Sorry it took me so long to get back on here but yesterday I took my DW to get a cortisone shot due to suddenly having numbness in her right arm. Her x-rays from Monday showed something wrong in her c-spine area(neck). I got her in with my pain specialist who did my back and he said it is more likely arthritis in c-6.. She will probably have another shot before the cruise to get more relief (we hope) Unfortunately it is something she will have to get confirmed with a mri soon.. I go today to my podiatrist for my foot and I have my fingers and toes crossed as the swelling has gone down some since I have been off of it.. As far as the tags go I saw where someone was working on them but I could not get anyone who listed they wanted one made.. If (sorry I didn't research the name first) the person does not say anything more the stick and peels would be fine.. Will post later this evening..

I put the right cabin # and put the names given Dawn for the list.. I did not go to the doc as the swelling has gone down some, just bruised, and I refuse to get a cast or boot for the cruise.. I don't mind pirate night but I will not be a permanent pirate with the leg..lolpirate: DW had the shot and it has helped her and she will probably get another before the cruise so she will have good relief. Looking into a fishing trip:earseek: in Ketchikan and was wondering has anyone else booked one for the cruise? I love to fish, just din't like to eat fish. Crustaceans are gookd though.. Tags are cool even if you don't make the first meet as we plan on one at the Tracey Arm Fjord, which we will plan on at the first M&G. We can go around after the first M&G to use post it notes on your doors with a time and place:grouphug:.. Talk Later

Do we pick up at name tags at the M&G ( I don't when & where this is, BTW )
Hi Teensum:cool1:
The M&G willbe at 2:00pm in the promenade lounge on the same deck you board on.. It is around the corner from the main dining area.. We are also going to have another M&G on Wed. which we will schedule after the main M&G. Probably the same place due to the weather? We will have to see on the first day..

If DIS names are going on the tags.
NW Mom (Skye) is claiming that NW Dad is her Kevin.
And Katie is going by Katie again.
I will say that I just realized we only have 2 weekends left to get everything on the to do list done before we head out. ACCCKKKK!!!
Why is it we women decide to go on an unrealistic spring cleaning frenzy right before a vacation?
I have decided I am just plumb nuts. Now thinking about which projects can just wait until we get back.

So in the event you have a fire the fire department won't think you are not a good housekeeper. It's kind of like wearing clean underwear just in case you get in a accident type of thinking.

Take a breath when you get on that ship you will be leaving all your cares on the dock and than you can deal with it when you return. Of course, than you will need another vacation.

Hi all!
The FE gift that I'm planning will probably be too big to fit in FE pockets, and might just be a bit too tempting (and easy) for someone other than the cabin occupants to walk off with. Would anyone be upset if I used a zip tie to attach it to either your FE or the fish itself? You'd just need a knife, nail clippper or pair of scissors to remove it.
Let me know what you think....

Mine work best with multiple of 3 for number of cabins.

I would like a list that includes the names and ages of the kids as I was hoping to do something on that end as well.

I'm happy to add the two groups to the FE, too. I did get extras, just in case. ;) (Oh, and is the family with two cabins going to have one or two FE's?) So far only one person has said anything about my zip tying the gift to their FE, so as long as I don't suddenly get a flood of comments saying no, that's what I'll plan on.
SO looking forward to this!!! :yay: Haven't had a real family vacation since '04, and between shows and working full time, my biggest worry is that I'm going to sleep through the whole trip!!! :rotfl: "Just" two more weeks to go - 80 hours of work, two more performances :dance3:, strike, and an audition.

Squid,
The way the weather here in the Pacific NW has been the last few weeks it has been one sunny day a week with 3 - 4 rainys in the week. Yesterday had some real down poors with pea size hail.
The sunny days however have been beautiful and in the 60's. Makes the rainy days not so bad :cool2:
Happy Mothers day to all.

Hi All:cool1:
I use Print Shop for all my designs for the cruise. I tried to use Office and really found I was limited on the fonts. Welcome to all the new folks on the group.("3 Hour Alaska Tour") If you would give me your info, cabin# and names in your crew, I would gladly update the list which I will hand out at the M&G on the 24th. My DW and I will probably go around to others who could not make the first day M&G and leave the list at your room provided. Looking at the boat at Tracy Arm Fjord almost make me nervous due to the hull thickness and somthing they call the can opener effect..lol I have full faith of no incident occurrence on the Wonder.. Need to finish and refine the packing next week as we are constantly changing our list in the suitcases...
Any color shirt will do for me Steve..

Hi James
There will be lots of liquor stores in Vancouver. www.bcliquorstores.com/store/locator
There are also beer and wine outlets too. Lots to choose from :)

We will be bringing some Alcohol on the boat also. I am told it has to be carried on

You made it to the right spot, if you're taking the May 24th cruise! Are you a life-long Louisianian? I grew up in Shreveport, although I now live in Minnesota. If you've never spent much time "up north", I can give you some pointers on clothing, etc., since I've made the switch from deep south to "frigid north". :rolleyes1:laughing:

Hi all,
I've been reading a blog by Laura Gilbreath on AllEars.net. She is currently on the inaugural Alaskan cruise. While she still has another day and a half to go there is already plenty to read. She has posted some great information about the ports, dining rotation, menu changes, show schedule, a few excursions and more. Plus there are lots of pics. Check it out. http://land.allears.net/blogs/lauragilbreath/
The first Alaskan cruise post is labeled Day 7. She took the repositioning cruise before the Alaskan one. The repositioning cruise is fun to read about too.

I feel bad, but I do not have enough FE gifts to include Bethd5. :guilty: I made 12 which, when the list was cut off, I had several extras but, even if I ordered more materials, they wouldn't be here in time. I will try to at least scrounge up things for the kids but you won't have a homemade gift from me. --Amy

Wow, after all that good food I just know I am going to gain weight.
Which leads me to another thing we will be celebrating on the cruise that we just found out about.
Broderick just got accepted to culinary school for next school year!!!
They had a mandatory meeting for 6:30 pm May 24th, or they would lose their spot. 200 applicants only 40 chosen.
We got an exemption. Just have to bring one menu home.
The homework is going to be so hard to help him with:wishforty.

I have a question about the FE gifts.
Is it ok to give a "package" of assorted things in each FE on a couple of
days ? I dont have enough home made things for each person every day.
I have never done the FE before but I have always wanted to.
I just want to make sure I am doing enough, dont want anyone upset
about what they get.....
I hope to finish most of my gifts tonight..
Cant wait to meet all of you.

Christy, don't worry about it, I don't think it's about getting things right and not having people upset at you.
I have put together one (1) package per cabin, some of the stuff is homemade other things are from where we live, oops don't want to spoil things.
I am getting excited about delivering them and hopefully everyone likes what is in the package.
All I know is this was so much fun to plan and gather stuff.:yay:

I agree with Disnanny - it's not about getting it right. It seems to me everyone does FE gifts differently. I don't have time to do something really crafty and even NYC trinkets add up - so mine is semi-homemade and every cabin gets the same thing.
As best I can tell, it's mostly about the excitement of returning to your stateroom to find a surprise waiting for you... and the thrill of tip-toeing through the hallways to quietly drop your gifts of for others. :goodvibes

I noticed a few disers have dd's around the age of 10 to 12. Which club are your girls going to? We have never cruised before, so I don't really know what to expect out of the kids programs (it's Disney so I know it has to be great... right?) My daughter is a very "social" type and likes to stay busy. I think she would prefer the tween club, but I guess we will just have to wait and see. I didn't post our room number on the previous posts, we are in room 8534. We are getting really excited about the trip, but it is very hectic around here with all of the end of school year activities. Are any of y'all dressing up for pirate night?

Are you making name tags? :confused3 I am waiting for the last couple of cabins that I don't have names for and will be all done. I used Print Master or something like that. It looks simular to the one you posted earlier. It says Alaska of course. I also did something a little special if I knew someone was celebrating a BD or Anniversary or Graduation. Hope this is acceptable.

FE= Fish Extender. This is a gift exchange list.
Fish Extenders are pockets that extend from the Fish that hangs beside each door. People that signed up for the gift exchange leave small gifts for each other. They are also great for leaving notes etc for members of your family to find each other.

Today was field trip day for my Klondike class.
This was the first time I had been to the new Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park in the old Cadillac Hotel. Beautiful new 2 story facility. Upstairs is all about Seattle's part in the Gold Rush and downstairs is dedicated to Alaska and Canada's part.
Wonderful addition to our class. Highly recommended. Many hands on exhibits for my group of touch and feel it learners. Free
Then we went on a 2 hour cruise on the Queen of Seattle paddleboat, similar to what might have been used to get to the Klondike for the Gold Rush.
Beautiful sunny day in the low 60's, slighty windy on the water. Kids enjoyed it. Men enjoyed the Salloon girl/singer/tour guide. Also, Dan the piano player and the actual player piano. Entrance fees apply.
Just more great ideas for those with some time in Seattle.

Ok, super nerdy question... Anyone heading out on this cruise will to pick up the special Vinylmation they have for the cruise? It is a Mickey totem and I am in love with it. I will of course pay you for figure, shipping, etc. I also will send a gift from Disneyland for your trouble!
Let me know.

This is the name tag list as of this morning (5/15). There are a few Dis-ers that I don't have names for and you know who you are :rolleyes1 (see the bolded ones). If I have time and extra buttons without opening another pack I will make tags with just the screen name in case they show-up at the M&G. Thanks!

Hi Wannabe,
I have a DD who is 12. We did a 4 night cruise before and my kids both loved the Lab. This time DD is excited about going to the tween club, which is new on the Wonder. I also pre-signed her up for the Lab too so she can go in with our DS (10) if there are activities in there that interest her. My DD and DS are also both really social so we'll have introduce the kids. We're going to try to be at the official M&G at the Promenade Lounge Tuesday, but if we don't make it feel free to pop by our room to say hi. (room 8000)
-Dawn
Thanks Susan for the update of the list.. I haven't been on here too much lately and do not seem to be able to find the time lately..

Sorry to barge in on your thread.....but is anyone doing the ABD add-on for this cruise? Just curious as to when you rec'd your 'document's from them and what all was included?

There seems to be multiple lists on this thread. I see one that is called the "3 hour Alaska Tour"......what is that list? Then there is another list for FE's.....
Silly me, I'm new to this and am looking for the FE master list to finalize all my gifts for the cruise. Can someone please clarify this for me?
Thanks ! :worship:

When Bethd5 joined our group, the post they sent indicated they knew they were to late to join but were looking forward to meeting everyone. Some had indicated they have finished their gifts and or only ordered enough to cover the original iist. I haven't added them to the list but you never know what you may find in your FE.

The above list is those that are participating in FE.
The "3 hour Alaska Tour" is James name for the complete list of everyone from this group. If you want an FE list with names let me know and I will send it to you. There is another list and that is titled Name Tags and it is what it says. It lists the screennames and given names and I am making name tags for the M&G to make it easier to identify each other. Hope this didn't muddy the waters. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Susan! I think it's a little clearer now. I would like the final FE list with names , ages and staterooms on it. I'm just trying to finalize all of the FE goodies and want to "double-check" the numbers ! My e-mail is Swalkerwoman@aol.com :)

Hi, that is why I moved the FE participants to this thread There seemed to be a number of different lists out there. Susan is doing the name tags (thanks Susan) and I had been keeping track of the FE participants.
I plan on bringing extra lists of participants with me, but if for some reason I don't make the M&G or others who have signed up aren't there, I don't want them to miss out having a list.
#436 is the final list of FE participants. I wanted to bold Bethd5 as they asked about joining after the cut off, this is in case the great DISers out there planned for a few extras gifts
see everyone Tuesday. The weather is supposed to be great

Hello everybody
I'm Bethd5
We're a party of 7 with three girls, ages 9, 10 and 12. We're actually in rooms 2038 and 2040. We'll have bags out for both rooms, two girls in 2038 and one in 2040. I totally understand if you didn't plan for three extra - but I have printed out the list and we'll be sharing gifts throughout the week. It's always fun to share with new friends!
Can't believe we'll be onboard next week. Thanks for all the information and posts.

jrp is doing the room and meet and greet list.. disnanny is doing the FE list with room numbers and child ages.. I did originally call the list the "3 Hour Alaska Tour" as a joke to Gilligan's Island TV show ( for all of us who remember it) I am doing the update for the M&G list on going as I am trying to get room numbers for the group participants.. Sorry about the confusion and I hope this helps.. We also have a list from goncruisin (Susan who is doing a list for name tags also.. There are 3 list total whew but it is a lot of work to do these list and I give them a big ol Texas Hug:grouphug:

The 3 hour Alaskan Cruise List is a list of who is on this thread that is going on the cruise(jrp's list). It has room numbers so jrp can drop off info on the meet and greets.
The FE list is those that signed up for the gift exchange. This list closed a month before the cruise. disnanny has been keeping it updated.
The name tag list is for those that signed up for name tags that were expecting to make the meet and greet at 2pm in the Promenade lounge.
gonecruisin is doing these. I am pretty sure that list is also now closed.

I am also sittiing here pouting and furious as our custom FE should have been here by May 13 wqith our pillowcase. It is still awol. The vendor did not even start making it until Monday!!! (insert head banging emoticon here:headache:) It was mailed on Tuesday.
I am hoping against hope it shows up tomorrow morning. Not sure why I bothered to order it so far in advance for my piece of mind to have to worry about it even arriving before we leave. I did my part.
So if you see a bag hanging from our fish, you will know why. Pout pout.

Susan, you can tell me on the train on the way up!!
Look for us to board at about 8:30 (Everett).
You'll know us by hubby's Disney jean jacket. There shouldn't be that many boarding at the Everett Station on a Sunday morning, but you never know- they have the baggage service at that station.
We will get to pass our house on the way!
I have finished this for the week:teacher:

Hi All:cool1:
We decided to skip the tux and gown and just wear jacket with a tie.. not enough room for all of it and fly by their standards. Money honey..Maybe the next cruise we can drive and carry what we want.. Finished the FE gifts and now we are trying to pack them in.. lol still not enough room.. What to take out now?

We (dd's and I) are wearing formals and husband is wearing his suit and tie. My mom is wearing a formal and dad is wearing a tux. We will also be dressing for dinner (unless we get back late from an excursion). By the way we arrived in Vancouver today, it took almost 2 hours to get our luggage. Evidently customs was running slow, they kept announcing over the pa how sorry they were for the delay. But no worries... it is VACATION!!!!!!!

Well, I am checking in from Seattle, but that's nothing new. I live near there. We are supposed to have beautiful weather on Tuesday.
First good news--- My FE arrived!!!!!! Not customized the way we asked/ordered, but it will work so that's good enough.
I finally found shoes to wear to go with my dress that are comfortable!!
Packing tonight to take the train up tomorrow. My next check in will be the meet and greet.

Hello, i'm not on this cruise but like to ask if anybody can look on the ship if Alex from The Netherlans is working on the ship. He's headchef in the buffet.
Thanks,

We don't fly out until tomorrow..
I know it's late (should've mentioned this last week..) I could use a gym buddy to keep me honest during the cruise. I'm not an athlete - just don't want to gain! Let me know if anyone's up for it.:)

I might be able to take you up on that. Depends on how often and when you want to go. And if my body allows it. (Got some chronic issues that sometimes preclude working out.) What sort of workout schedule are you thinking?:yay:

I'm thinking workouts on sea days. I live on the east coast - so I'll probably be up early (at least for me!) to go before breakfast. I've heard someone saw whales from the fitness center - so maybe that'll be an extra incentive. :lmao:

I, too, plan to hit the gym and/or the promenade deck a few times while on board so we'll have to meet up!
And someone else asked about formal night... My gown & Steve's 3-piece suit are packed! (Our pirate clothes fit, too!) We leave in 3 hours!!!! :cloud9: We'll see everyone at the M&G tomorrow - TOMORROW!! :cheer2::banana::dance3:

don't know how early I'll be able to get up, but since we'll be 3 hours later than I'm used to, maybe it will work.....
Or maybe I'll just sleep the entire cruise...:rotfl:

The four of us (John, Em, Lauren and myself) are home safe. Left ChriStephanie (Chris and Steph) at the airport waiting for their flight to continue on to Rochester. Unpacking is the part I hate the most about vacation. The weather here is MD is crazy hot, upper 90's. We couldn't have asked for better weather the entire trip. It was nice meeting everyone and we would like to thank all the FE participants for the surprises almost everyday. :grouphug:

What a great trip! :thumbsup2 We really enjoyed meeting many of you and seeing you around the ship throughout the week. I hope everyone had a wonderful time, took some gorgeous photos and made amazing memories. (Was anyone else considering barricading themselves in their room and not leaving Tuesday?)
Many thanks to our fish extender group. You all came up with some very creative items and we really enjoyed finding our souvineer surprises every day.
Now back to our regularly scheduled life. :sad1:

Thanks, everyone, for all the great FE gifts! What fun! Sorry we couldn't make any of the M&Gs. Too much going on!
I, too, HATE unpacking. But it's all done. Did anyone else come home ? I somehow managed to come home with a nasty cold! yuck! But I'd still go back in a heartbeat if I could afford it. What beautiful weather!
And get this - We stayed for several hours in Vancouver after the cruise. We were in Stanley Park and could see the Wonder as the sail away party kicked into gear. The weather was beautiful, bright sunny skies and warm. We heard the ship's horn, and watched as she pulled out and headed out for the next cruise. Within 45 min, it clouded over and started drizzling.
No lie!

What an AWESOME vacation. The weather was perfect. Could not have
asked for any better weather. The FE gifts were great, thanks
to everyone for the wonderful gifts. The Disney scrap book paper
for the Disney cruise was great. I took mine to guest services and had
signatures but on mine. Thanks for all the cool gifts.
Sorry we missed both M & G's, time got away from us on both of them.
ready to book my next cruise....
everyone have a great rest of the week.

we got home, laundry is done, suitcases put away:sad:we booked another cruise while on board, so it is something to look forward to. We wanted to stay so bad and just sail forever, we are wondering who is sleeping in "our bed" and hoping they are enjoying the cruise as much as we did. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Thank you everyone for the FE gifts they were awesome, it was great meeting everyone.
Love the name tags, Susan thanks for doing this for our group. It was great to see them around the ship

Great cruise, everyone!!
I never made it to the gym despite my good intentions (the raffle does not count), but then again I climbed the stairs unless I had heels on so that counts!!
Did anyone else come home ?
Yes, dd9 has not been well. Running a fever and missing her Disney Cruise friends. She has PDCS (Post Disney Cruise Syndrome)
I'm finally caught up on sleep. Still working on the laundry and unpacking.
I had to go see a new baby as soon as I got home!!!:lovestruc

WOW what a trip! We have been on the go since we returned!
THANK YOU so much for the two great magnets! They are on the fridge already!
James thanks for the t-shirt I will wear it at the station one of these days.
It was good to meet the couple of you that we did. Unfortunately we were too late arriving at port. And then we went down for the second one didnt see a group and later found James was right near us and we didnt know it.
Looking forward to Dec and our 3 day on the Dream!

This is the first chance I've had to get on the boards since we got back! Busy, busy, busy! But - wow! - what a great trip!! :cool1: We were sad to have missed the first m&g but the name tag buttons were GREAT to identify people while we were out & about on the ship. Thanks for making them! And thanks to everyone for the FE gifts! This was the first time we've ever participated and it was so fun to come "home" to things waiting in our extender! Now I have to figure out when & where our next cruise will send us! :goodvibes Maybe we'll be sailing together again soon... --Amy

A P.S. funny-- school had its Spring Concert last night. As we got changed before going we felt like we were getting ready for our evening show-- same start time as on ship!
I previously stated that I would be uncomfortable with having people wait on me if I ever won the lottery. I have now decided that I could adapt to being waited on hand and foot very easily. :)
The key is to never stop appreciating those who take care of you.
Thank you to all the Disney employees who made this a very pleasurable cruise after a very hard year.
