View Full Version : Left 9 Counter Svc meals unused when we checked out!!
We just got back from 6 nights with 4 adults which was a total of 24 counter svc meals, 24 sit down and 24 snacks. We used the sit downs, but left 9 counter svc meals on our bill when we checked out. After a small breakfast, if we had a nice sit down dinner planned we did not want to fill up at lunch so we just used our snack in the afternoon and found it hard to use all the counter service credits. When asked if we could just get a snack in it's place, we were told No. I guess we could have ordered the counter svc meal which included a drink, entree and dessert and just thrown out the entree if we just wanted the drink and dessert, but I hated to waste the food. It seems crazy they will not let you order the meal and tell them to hold the entree part of it.

What was the "small breakfast?"
I'm curious why, if you planned to use the snack at lunch, you didn't use the counter service at breakfast. Then you would not have had any credits left over, nor would you have been too stuffed to eat dinner.

We were told we could trade CS for snacks and we did. Our last morning after a CS breakfast at Peppermarket, I commented to the girl at the register that we were leaving but still had 4 CS credits left. She said you could get 3 snacks for a CS credit. So we hit Rix Cafe and loaded up on chips, candy, etc for the ride home. Left no credits behind.

We also used many of our counter service meals for breakfast. We have never had any meals left at the end of our trips. :goodvibes
either just a muffin or bagel type with juice. We are not big on eating much early in the morning and it was not our intention to let the meals go, but I guess it was just too hot or something, but we just never felt like having lunch. It just worked out that way. Guess the part about being able to use your CS for 3 snacks goes back to the saying of "it depends on which CM you ask as to the answer you get". Ours said "NO" and it was time for us to leave, so we missed out.

My sister and I are not big eaters in the morning so what we would do is split a QS meal for breakfast, we would get things like muffins or bagels and extra juices. By the end of our trip all we had left was snacks, which we used for treat to give to friends when we got home. It was a little treat from Disney. Everyone loved it.

We also did the dining plan for the first time this past trip and thought it was waay too much food. I had 2 CS and 8 snack credits left at the end. We took a trip to DTD, got sandwiches and drinks for the airport and loaded up on "presents" at Goofy's Candy Company. I think it's silly that they wouldn't let you use the CS as snack credits.
But I definitely think the hot weather had something to do with it. I just wasn't as hungry in between meals.

I tried to convert leftover CS to snacks at the Peppermarket and Rix in August and was told that it was not allowed. I have done it previously at the WL Roaring Forks.
Since the Peppermarket didn't let me trade for snacks, I got the meals boxed to go and we ate them at the airport. It worked out fine since the Magical Express got us to the airport early, and we would not be getting a meal on the plane.
I wish it was standard to be allowed to trade CS meals for snacks.

We pretty much always leave CS credits behind. We eat until we are full every day. Often we end up splitting a CS breakfast or lunch on some days, which is where the extras come from. This year I have 2 2TS credit meals planned so I hope that solves the left over CS credit problem for us.

We just returned from our first trip with the dining plan and it was just the right amount of food for us....well except for dessert. We stayed 5 nights and used our ts credits for 2 breakfasts and 3 dinners. On the days we had morning ADR's, we had cs dinner. We had cs breakfast at the resort the days we had dinner ADR's. Usually we split a snack or two in the afternoon. Then we split something at night before the closing show. It worked out great...in fact, dh says he wants to have the dining plan every time now. Guess free dining did it's job reeling us in!

I am afraid that we will have many CS credits left- over too. We only have 5 days in the parks, so we don't want to spend our good morning touring time eating!!!
We also like to sleep as late as we can and still make it to rope drop. So we usually eat a Pop tart or granola bar on the bus on the way to the park.
We have a TS ADR for each day, so I'm not sure how we are going to fit all this food in!!! My family would rather experience the parks instead of eat!
Good thing dining is free!!:)

We usually have CS meals left at the end of our trip also. We go to DTD the morning we are leaving and use all of our remaing CS to get sandwhiches at the Earl of Sandwich. We pack them for our drive back to New York. It is nice to have them for lunch during the ride home instead of stopping at McDonalds!

They only thing we ever have trouble using up are the snack credits. We are so full from CS lunches and TS dinners that no one wants snacks in between. Last trip we had 24 (out of 40) snack credits left on our last day - we took home a bunch of candy and chips.

If you go to a manager in the food court and explain to them that you can not use them, they will let you turn them into choices that are acceptable as desserts. We were ill during our last trip and had to choose 82 items from the food court. The manager was very helpful.

Actually, the manager may let the Guest use CS credits for snacks. They are not required to do this, and the conditions of the Dining Plan actually state it cannot be done.

We try to solve that problem by ordering a CS meal now and then to use as a snack between the two of us, especially if we stay during late EMH and want a late bite. The snack credits get used on the really yummy snacks we just have to get each time we go.
We don't always succeed, had 7 CS left for our last two days one one trip, used many of them to eat around the world at Epcot. Just ordered one CS to split every few hours so we could sample some counties we hadn't tried before.
Always try to leave at least one CS for each of us for our check out day so we can have breakfast or lunch before the flight home. And we use leftover snack credits for munchies to take to the airport.

How do you do that? I thought you could only use as many CS credits as were on your card?
I was hoping to do something similiar.....buy 2 lunches at Earl of Sandwich and then buy 2 more to take on the plane...we just have two of us.......my post was deleted when I asked that!
Thanks

You could have each gotten a muffin/bagel, a juice and another drink (like a bottle of water for later) for a breakfast CS credit. Maybe not the most economical use of credits, but neither is having 9 left over.

We had 4 CS and 1 TS credit left.
We had 2 extra days at a condo booked, so in the evening after we checked out of OKW, we went to WPE around 9pm and got 5 to-go meals, desserts, and bottled juices and waters and took them to the condo. We had food for 2 more days there and only bought 1 dole whip and 1 order of Aloha chips for the rest of the trip (for 4 adults).

We also had a lot of CS and snack credits left.
I had a CS meal made for my niece and I for at the airport. I also used 12 snack credits for a box of the dairy free brownies that she likes.
We had cereal for breakfast in the room when we didn't have a TS breakfast planned. It saved us lots of time in the morning as her food takes time to prepare in the food court.
I found many days we used a snack or two for our lunch as we weren't that hungry.
