A Very Spooktacular Disney TR......filled with First's, Halloween Fun, and a Shockingly Not So Scary but Very Merry Surprise!!!!!!

Ok so here it is the much anticipated mini TR and the soon to be revealed unexpected surprise!!

Part One: Introductions
I would like to take a moment to introduce you to the cast of this very special trip plus give you a little bit of history so you can understand why this trip even though shorter than most was extra special to our family.

So without further a due I present to you myself Known by my DH as Honey, my girls as Mom, the boys as Aunti Nessa, and by DIS as TinkandPooh…....

Part Two: PTR History

I will try to sum up this portion as quickly as possible and get on to the actual TR portion because I know many of you are following to learn the secret surprise that I have decided to reveal last in this short TR.
So our family has been AP holders for years, thus we have been blessed with many opportunities to enjoy Disney Magic, however the last year has been very tight and we did not renew our AP’s early this year due to finances :scared1:!
As you all know by now early this year our family decided to start a new chapter in our lives when we welcomed into our home our 5 and 6 year old nephew’s Leo and Frankie, whom we now have legal guardianship of. Our nephew’s even though very young had been through some horrible things and had what I considered a very tragic start to their young lives and we were bound and determined to do all we could to make things better for them.
When we started this new chapter in our lives there were some very costly initial expenses which is what ultimately played the most major role in us not renewing our AP’s early in the year.
So this Mini TR is the point in the year that we were finally able to get our AP’s back again….yeah, as well as take the boys on their very 1st vacation ever and what better place to take them than to Disneyland “The Happiest Place on Earth” where all their little dreams could come true and their eyes and hearts could be open to the never ending happiness that this magical land has to offer all who walk through those gates.
I guess what I am trying to point out is that even though we were all present as a family for this trip that what this trip was really about were the boys and seeing the magic and amazement through their eyes.
Ever since the day that they boys came to live with us I dreamed about this moment and how privileged we would be to witness this incredible first for them, because I truly felt in my heart that there were no other 2 boys in the world at this moment who deserved this any more than our little guys did, and we were going to be able to be a part of the remaking of their lives and their happy history……and I just don’t know how much more blessed a family could be!!!!!!

This ticket came in a family 4 pack of tickets that included a 3 night stay at the DLH that I won from a local Fox TV station.....notice the date 2-18-2000 and the price for a 3 day was only $76.00.......if only we could have yester years prices now.......;)

I have to say... that ticket price is crazy. I cannot believe it. But I guess that was only for DL not DCA since I don't think DCA was finished yet. That makes it a little better, but not by much.

I am still working on it and may or may not be able to have it all up by tonight as I got a little off track earlier when an issue came up with the kids that took me out of the house and away for some time. Like you, I also have guardianship of my 4 year old nephew. We took him to DL for the first time ever back in March. Seeing DL through his eyes was so cool! I have the most precious picture of him meeting Mickey for the first time. The look of awe and happiness on his face is priceless!!

Good luck to you and your family on this new venture. I know it's not easy adding to your family. People always say to me how wonderful I am for doing it for him but the way I look at it, how can you NOT do it? It's not that poor baby's fault he had crappy parents! I like to think that if anyone was in that position, they'd step up and take him in.

Anyway, can't wait to hear what the surprise was! You're killing us with the suspense! :)

1. You went to the pirate layers Island and saw Johnny Depp dressed as Captain Jack- and when you asked for a pic- he kissed you on your cheek- and DH got really mad and then they started sword fighting on the island- and everybody loved it, and now DH has a contract!

2. You got to go inside the matterhorn and play basketball with the CM'S and you got to see inside Tinks room.

3. Tinkerbell saw your boys and took them on her flying thru the air ride during the Firework show and they was introduced as the Lost Boys!

4. You went to rent a locker- and when you opened it- someone left you a note with a $100 and they told you too have a great magical day!

5. You ran into an old friend/co-worker, who just was about to go eat lunch at Club 33 and they invited you and your family to join them!

6. On your way out of the park- Mickey and the Gang, spotted you and your family and walked all the way to your hotel with you guys- and then they thru a huge pool party!

Oh dear I am so sorry I know I had said I would be back yesterday to post the rest of my TR but there were some issues at work and I ended up having to work a 14 hour shift yesterday and did not get home until 8:30pm California time........I was sooooooooo tired and just wanted to shower and meet my pillow........
I do have to run off to work today but with any luck I will only be working until noon and then I can come home and get right back into typing up the rest of my TR and posting it along with all the phoots.

Part Three: We made it….now let the Fun Begin!!!

Thursday October 8th 2009 would start out unlike most for us…….you ask why?????? Well that would be because we go to DL……no not work and no school and no hustle and bustle of the every day routine stuff………..instead we do DL which would brighten everyone’s day even if some us were feeling a tad under the weather.
So unlike most of our trips that end with a snowball effect this one was going to be just a day trip but we are ok with that since we will be here again in November and then in December and once again in January and then once again in March…..all for over nighters or 2 or 3 or 4….still to be determined…LOL….that will be the snowball effect.
We headed out early and arrived at Mickey and Friends Parking structure at 8:45am with DL opening at 9am. We all jumped on board the Tram which the boys thought was their first ride of the day and I had to explain to them that even though it was fun for them that we hadn’t even made it into the parks and that there was much more fun and many adventures that awaited them in a few minutes.
Before heading into the parks we opted to get a locker outside the gates so that we would have some place to store all the goodies we got for the day while we did the parks and then did MTOTP from 6:30 to 10:30….boy am I glad we did this because I would have hated to carry all our stuff around the entire day…………..I am so used to all our overnight stays and just having our things sent to the hotel. After securing a locker we headed over to a vacant ticket booth just to see if they had 1st visit pins and B-day pins seeing as how there was no line….and they did…..yeah!!!!! So with pins on shirts for everyone (some 1sts, DD B-day, and everyone a celebrate pin) we headed straight to the front gates.
Once inside the park the girls took all our passes and made a B-line towards SMGG to get FP’s for all while DH and I took the boys to the Hat shop on Main St to get them their 1st original mouse ear hats as we felt that this was a must have for them.

So with hats on the boys heads and FP’s for SMGG in our hands we set off with the girls heading off in their own direction for a couple hours to do teenage stuff, while DH and I head off to Adventure land with the boys.
Our first destination The Jungle Cruise……….as we wait in a short line DH and I closely observe the boys and I the not so great photographer however great leaps better than DH snap some shots of the boys waiting in line. As the line moves quickly we can tell by the boy’s expressions that they are amazed with what they are seeing, however they are still trying to figure out this magical place.

We board our boat and sit up in the front very near the skipper/guide and we set off deep into the Jungle. The boy’s were very much into it and the biggest kick that DH and I got was that it was very obvious that both of them thought every bit of this ride was real and that every animal they were seeing was the real deal……it was awesome!!!! Leo quickly was the one to take over in making sure his brother was going to be ok and not get eaten by any wayward animals as we hear him shout “Look out Francy move your hand you don’t want the crocodile to jump up and bite your hand off” and later in the ride “Look Aunti Nessa that rhino chased those guys up that pole….is someone going to help them?”
It was beyond adorable and I could feel my smile reach from ear to ear!
We then arrived back to civilization and we head off to introduce the boys to Tarzan as we climb high into Tarzan’s Tree House with the boy’s exploring every nook and cranny.

Once done visiting and playing with Tarzan we head off to go and sail with Pirates on POC. As you might have guessed the boy’s were amazed with this ride as well and once again thought it was real. Leo got very excited when he saw the pirates treasure and asked if he could have some, I quickly explained that it would not be nice to take their treasure from them and he then said “Do you think if we asked nicely they would let us borrow some?” Another completely adorable moment!!!!
So far I’m loving every minute of this trip!!!!!!
Once we make it back to shore we head off to go and get FP’s for HMH and from there to go and meet the girls for a family log ride adventure through the hills and caves of Splash Mountain. As we meet up with the girls it was obvious they had just come from Pooh’s corner as their hands, mouths, and tummies were full of yummy goodness….with pumpkin muffins, tigger tails, and caramel apples to share!!!!
The boys loved Splash Mountain the very most, and one of the sweetest moments of the day came while we were on this ride. As we headed around the corner on the part of the ride that is outside early in the ride before you turn the corner and drop down your first hill that takes you into the mountain Leo “Le Le” who was sitting in front of me turns and says with excitement and joy in his voice “Aunti Nessa hurry and get your camera so you can take a picture because this is the most beautiful view!!!”
I am not joking when I say that he said that in those exact words and it just floored me and I got teary eyed over it because it was just way too precious!!!!

After getting off Splash Mountain we decided to take a ride with pooh deep into the 100 acre woods….of course the boys loved this ride as well. I made it my personal mission to find and photograph what was left behind in the ride from Country Bear Jamboree because I had heard of it but wanted to see it for myself and this is what I got………..

After riding with Pooh Bear we headed over to NOS and jumped on board the train and headed for Tomorrow Land where we would ride SMGG followed by going to lunch because by this point we were all starving.
Leo did not like SMGG however his younger brother Frankie loved it and wanted to go again…go figure.
After SMGG we headed out of the park and over to the GCH where we would have lunch at Story Tellers so the boys could make their own pizza’s and my daughter and I could get a great Gluten Free meal. I did not get any pictures of food on this trip because time was too short and I wanted to enjoy much of the boy’s 1st without having a camera pressed to my face. I will save all the food porn shots for our upcoming trips and share then.

After lunch we would head back to DL for the rest of the day or basically until it was 6:30 at which time we would head over to CA for MTOTP. After lunch I stopped taking pictures and took out the video camera and videotaped the rest of the day because I wanted to have equal amounts of pictures and of video.
I will tell you that the rest of our time at DL was spent doing all the very kiddy rides like BLAB and Fantasyland rides as well as explore Thunder Mountain ranch where the boys did get to meet Woody and Jesse and I did snap a few pictures here.

MTOTP was great and we all enjoyed it, which was great because I was a little worried with all I had been hearing but I can say that the crowds were not large and ride lines were not long at all so we very much enjoyed our time at the party and got some awesome footage of the boys totally rockin’ out to all the dance music they played at the party………if I can figure out how to take the video and put it on youtube or something I will paste the link here so that you all can see the video footage from our trip as well because there are some great moments on it!!!

Thanks for the intriguing trip report but I got tired of refreshing for whatever the shock was. In a previous post you had said the shock would be posted 2 days ago. Sorry, this is one of my pet peeves on the DIS lately. I prefer to read a posters post at the top without having to go through several pages of comments.

Sorry you are dissapointed:sad2:......I do realize that I said that I would post it a couple days ago and did pop in to apologize for failing to meet my own deadline.
I have a house full of kids who have all taken turns being sick as well as myself, plus my work pulled a number on me yesterday and a semi number on me today....this is what life has dealt me the past couple days and as much as I would love to sit at my computer 24 hours a day and post and play on DIS boards I have not won the lottery recently making that possible.

So as you know our family has been doing DL for years and we have met some really awesome Disney people along the way. Every time we go there are a few that always recognize us and make it a point to make sure our trip is very magical as well as catch up with us and see how everyone is doing.
This time was no exception when it came to that, however without giving up too many details this time was a bit different.
To make a long story short we will be going back in January and will be doing the one thing I never in a million years imagined that we would do and never even thought of trying to do because it just did not seem possible for us…………
If you have not guessed it………DH and I will be having dinner at CLUB 33 in January for our Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I will take as many pictures as I can and I will do a photo TR of this event……………………………


This is our very merry and shocking unexpected surprise………………………….and it may be not so big to some of you……..however to us……………………………….unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!

I dunno...
I was thinking it was to do with Christmas
Such as being a part of the castle lighting or the Candlelight processional. Or something like that where the magic of Disney and the magic of Christmas combine.
(I'm a little bit obsessed with Christmas)

YIPEE! that is way too cool!!! :lovestruc Congratulations, what a wonderful way to celebrate an anniversary! Now we all get to lurk come January for pictures. You should find on of those small spy cameras to slip into your DH tie, like in the spy movies. that way you won't have to have a camera plastered to your face. :lmao:

Club 33 is tucked away back in NOS and is a private members only exclusive club.

There is a waiting list to become a member that from what I understand is years and years long and once you do come up on the list it is very costly.

you got it except unless something has changed in the last few months, last thing I heard, the waiting list is no more...they arent taking any new members...mostly its HUGE corporations....

you are so very lucky and thanks for the TR and letting us share the surprise with you...how amazing that would be...I had my hands around the doorknob...so close to getting in and something happened beyond my control that I didnt end up getting to go after all so Im glad you get to:goodvibes
