Hi everyone

Well we only have 5 weeks left before we go - I really cant wait!!
We still havent told the girls yet that we are going -I cant believe that I have kept it a secret for this long. Its really not like me.

I have been wondering about booking dinner with the princesses as my youngest just loves all the princesses. But I was wondering what kind of food there was to eat on the menu. It is very expensive and I didnt want to book it if the kids didnt like the food choices.

I hope someone can help

I'm afraid I can't help you with the menu there, but from what others have said, I don't really think the children go for the food, its more the individual attention they get from each princess (and prince) in attendance that day :goodvibes.

There are reviews, including great photos, and even a picture of the menus, from the Princess meal on this review thread (page 2 has the most recent reviews and photos) -

We went recently with our nearly 3 year old - photos etc are in my trip report day four - link in my signature.

The food wasn't really her thing but she didn't eat all week as she was poorly so that might be a bit unfair. The interaction with the princesses was wonderful and unhurried. I think DD was as excited to see the mice as she was the princesses! It was VERY expensive!! We paid with our premium vouchers so I didn't have to physically hand over any cash! The menu is on display outside the restaurant along with the prices. You could always book the meal for your last day and see how long your spending money lasts - you can always cancel?

I would imagine your little princess would love it! :lovestruc

Childrens menu was a set starter, main course was a choice of beef burger (no bun) with mash, gravy & veg, or pasta with tomato sauce, or chicken I think? Dessert was again a set option with 5 different mini things, mostly chocolate based!

Another thing to consider is whether you are prepared to sacrifice about 2-2.5 hours of park time for your meal?

Have a great holiday!!

The "burger" isn't a normal patty though - it's strips of beef that is actually only medium cooked so might make your kids feel ill (like my daughter!)

To be honest, I've done the meal once and that is enough. My daughter ate nothing but the bread rolls and a little bit of food (not even the dessert tempted her) and the adult food is very rich (I had scallops in champagne sauce which were lovely but after I felt quite eugh). But the wine you get if you prepay the meal makes up for it :thumbsup2 and I got quite tipsy!

The Princess were great though! Having been made aware that a DIS member has a relative who is a special friend of Ariel and Snow White (and Wendy) I hoped we would see her and Ariel;) was very lovely to my DD, Snow White and Prince Charming were splendid, Perla and Suzie were so sweet and to top it off, we had Princess Minnie who I adored and was brave enough to have a picture with!!

If you go for the beef option, be sure to ask for it well done if you don't want it to be red in the middle! We go every trip, but my girls love the food, and always have a lovely time.

If your child likes pasta then i would go for that, my DD doesnt like sauce on it so it came plain and she ate it all up.......

We got back friday and done the princess meal. The food choice isnt great I cant remember exactly but for adults there was veal, scallops and rack of lamb, my partner is very fussy so he came in but didnt eat saving us £52. I had the lamb and it was lovely. For the kids there was beef and mash, pasta and something else. My daughters had pasta and it had tomato sauce was vey expensive pasta! We paid there and it was 59 for adults 20 for kids. I told them my youngest was under 3 (she is 3 but doesnt eat much) so youngest was free she just didnt get as much food. The interaction is great and lots of lovely photos. They do a photo with cinderella as you go in and that was 27 euro for big photo, 2 small ones and 4 smaller ones. You can take your own pics. If you do go ask for a table near the fireplace, I didnt know about that so we were at the back and couldnt see them dancing I had to get up and go over to get some photo's. Have fun!

cryingbaby just reading your post with interest. I am in the same boat as you DH is fussy so won;t eat anything and DS is 2. So looks like it will be just DD and me.

So am I right in thinking under threes go for free and what do they get to eat?

So is it ok then for DH to sit with us even though he won't be eating?

What the prices you mentioned in euros or pounds?

My youngest daughter has been twice to Auberge while aged 2 & we had to pay the full price for her both times. I didn't mind though because she ate loads! I thought it was only buffet style restaurants that they could eat for free.

Yes only buffet restaurants are free for under 3s. They could eat from your plate though if you wanted. We have been to Auberge 3 times and will be going again in a couple of weeks. We love the food and although the children don't eat everything they eat plenty and have a wonderful time.

The prices are in euro's. Yes my partner sat with us but didnt eat. I told them little one was only 2 so they said she could eat off my plate and I didnt pay for her, but they brought her a bowl of pasta anyway. My eldest got a plate for pudding with a lolly, milkshake, ice cream, chocolate cake and a cinderlla chocolate sweet, my youngest got an ice cream and lolly. Far too much on one plate even I couldnt of eaten it all so they shared it all. She didnt get the cocktail drink either. In total it came to 106 euros, I think, that was with the photo pack.

thanks.

So I will pay for DD and myself.

DH will have a Mcdonalds before we go as he won't eat anything off the menu and DS 2 can either share with me or his sister as she won't eat more then a few mouthfuls and that will only be the dessert! (he most likely will be fed up after 30 mins anyway so maybe they can go on a few rides until we finish)

This should only cost around £50 59e+20e minus shareholder discount 15%

Just need to find out, if the park is open till 10pm can I book an evening time or will this still have to be lunch?

I briefly remember reading somewhere that kids under 3 eat free, so when we sat down I said "dd's only 2 so does she eat free?" They said yes she could eat off my plate, but they brought her out pasta and half a pudding. Thought this was a standard thing?
Yes you should just pay 59 euros for you and 20 euros for 1 child.

I think its nice they brought her out a plate of something etc, but usual standard practice is that under 3's only eat for free in buffet meals. You must of had a very nice CM in the Auberge :)
