2010 dining plan price?

Any idea what the prices are going to be on the dining plans for next year? I found the pdf for the plan and cannot see pricing on it. I am trying to plan out my April trip and debating on the plan, and pricing would certainly help with that.

I was wondering the same thing. I just did some quick calculating and it looks like the QSDP is up $2 a day to $31.99. Not sure about the others.

I think it will go up to $41.99 for adults and $11.99 for kids in 2010.

Is it my imagination, or are there way fewer restaurants, especially in Epcot, that are taking the DDP? We're going in February and I was hoping to eat at Chefs de France to see Remy, but now it's not listed as a choice.

Do you think they will add more restaurants to the list as time goes by?

Yes there will be more restaurants added as they sign on. Happens every year and there has only been one rest. to be on the dining plan one year and not the next.

I can't believe how much the DDP will be on our trip in February :eek:. There is NO WAY my DS11, DH and I could eat $140.00 a day in food. We were on the free DDP a couple of weeks ago and never did we eat $140 in one day and I am including CS, TS and snack. We ate an average of about $120 a day over 6 nights. Some days we ate around $100 and others about $130. It would have been much less than that if they had actually charged our DDP with the kids meals my DS ate. DS11 eats off the kids menu and they just added something extra to his meal. Example---------at Kona they gave him 2hot dogs instead of one. He didn't eat the second one, but I guess, to justify having to use an adult credit they gave him the extra. At Plaza he got a grilled cheese and they made it a triple decker and extra fries. Never in one day did we eat $140.

I have APs and a TiW card so I guess I will be using it and we will eat off property for some meals.

Can I ask where you got that info because after reading it, I called Disney and they have no information regardin an increase for "peak times." I spoke with 3 different people. Do you have something from Disney that states this?

Different web sites have these prices posted, all ears is one of them as is the mouse for less. I got these from the mouse for less but I also looked at my old emails and the are the same as what my travel agent had too. You can also go to the disney web site do the same vacation for the different times and do the math from there.

I saw this info on other sites but Disney said there aren't peak increases. On dvc it says $41.99 only, no other increases. I don't know what to believe.

I went to Disney.com and was planning out my vacation for February with and without the DDP and the difference was $141 a day which, for the three of us, is $47 each. So the increase is already on their site too.

There currently is no increase being charged for DVC members at all (nobody knows yet if that's going to continue because DVC members don't pay for the plan until they check in). But if you break down the package reservation prices, you will find the basic dining plan (and only the basic dining plan) prices higher during designated peak times.

Ok just did 2 fake vacations. I put in the same number of date, same type of tickets, and regular dining plan.

The DVC site says $41.99 per night per adult and $11.99 per night per child ages 3-9. When I booked my DVC trip through DVC Member Services, I asked about the peak season price increase. The CM on the phone told me that the price increase does not apply to DVC members and that I should go by what they tell me and also what is on the DVC Member website. So far both the CM who I spoke to and the DVC website are consistent, in that the price of the basic DDP is the same no matter when in 2010 a DVC member staying on points chooses to go. That of course, can change at any time and I would not be surprised if it does.

Otherwise, the basic DDP does have that peak season surcharge, making it $46.99 per adult per night, and $12.99 per child per night. I asked about this via the regular Disney phone number when inquiring for my sister (she is staying at Pop Century and going at the same time we go). She opted not to do any of the dining plans. DH and I decided to add the basic plan because with our vacation eating habits, it saves us money whether we have to pay the surcharge or not. If the current price for DVC members stands and we don't have to pay the surcharge next July, then it will cost us $120 less over our 10-night trip for the 4 of us.

Keep in mind that if you pay for food OOP during the surcharge dates fixed price TS meals will be higher by $4-$5 per adult too, a dollar or two for children.

If Disney keeps up with this seasonal food pricing it's only a matter of time before they figure out how to add it to a menu service TS location too.

I figure even with the seasonal increase, we still save $$$ on the DDP, just not as much. I'm really thinking of adding the DxDP to our July trip since it will only be $25 more for us, and we can certainly eat that in appys and an extra TS meal.

Remember that by next year there may well be some price increases here and there anyway. I think the Dining Plans are structured to offer the "average" family a savings regardless of season. That it does not work that way for some is down to individual preferences, tastes and eating habits, but on the whole it works for most. From a business point of view, the Dining Plan is a product and it would not be in Disney's best interests not to make it appear worthwhile. I don't think those on the DDP are going to lose out by the increases. I just posted a reply to someone else's thread earlier this morning and pointed out that through Disney UK, the QSDP for 2010 has increased by £5 per adult (roughly $7.90 at present). I was taking the QSDP anyway so I don't recall the other Plans but they also increased along similar proportions. I would be happy to purchase the plan for £46.99 even in low season! Just a thought. Hopefully that will make some of you feel a bit better!
