You work fast!!! We will be joining you again. When did you book? I checked on those secret porthole rooms and they were gone when we were booking and that was like Monday!!!

We got 2 of the sideways Cat 11 rooms. My hubby loved it this time. It felt bigger to him and he loves the darkness!! Are you home already?

I just got home a little bit ago, grabbed some subway and started a load of laundry. I have a tote out for things that I used on this cruise(toiletries, FE, etc) gonna put all that in the tote and save for this cruise. Let's see I booked I think thursday...after Robin convinced me!! At the time they had 3 left and I picked the one that WASN'T connected in case a family of more then 4 wanted 2 connecting. Anyhow I am gonna check out a pic of the wondow in my room and if I dont want it then I am upgrading to Oceanview deck 6.

I have some ideas for our logo----maybe a Mickey with a mexican sambraro? any name ideas????

Goes to show you that you always have to keep checking if you want a specific room. My DH wants to stay in our Cat 11 sideways room. He's not even interested in moving to a SPH room even if one is available. Crazy. We just got in the door after driving 12 hours. DH is in bed and says we will unload in the morning so no laundry for me until in the morning.

So here's our cruise list so far:

Michelle, I sent you a PM a while back about the October 3rd cruise, that I would check in with the group closer to the cruise, but we decided to keep our trip a secret from some of our friends and just surprise them when we got on the ship. So has anyone been to the Mexican Riviera---anything ya recommend? I am looking into a dolphin swim somewhere cause we were gonna do it in Cozumel but did MNSSHP instead. I am glad cause now Nelia will be older this time and I am unsure what or if we are doing Disneyland. I heard that it can be disappointing when u are used to Cindrella's castle at WDW and it's a very small Sleeping beauty castle at DL. So I am gonna check into a few things....Sydney(9) wants to see Miley Cyrus....LOL true Tween!! Maybe something special will be going on when we go out--well I am home not feeling well....a little stomach issues. I am off to fold the clothes into a tote so DH can pack all the summer stuff in the attack and pack away our FE and cruise things till this cruise...ok so my Dreamers know that I will start packing Jan 2011....LOL

One of the people we were trying to surprise was 1971Visitor, who posted on the DD board a few times. There were about 60 people on the cruise from our hometown. Only 4 or 5 people knew we were going. There are a few disers among that bunch who might have been lurking on the DD board, :tiptoe: so that is why we decided not to post. Anyway, we're not hiding from anyone this cruise, so it's on!! party: Y'all will probably get tired of me!!:rotfl2:
I have been checking out the Pacific Cruise Ship Terminal (http://www.pcsterminals.com/) (PCST) already. When the Magic was there in '07 she docked at Berth 93. There is no schedule for 2011 yet. Right now, Princess ships are docking at Berth 93.

So anyhow we were talking about Sand Pedro port and she said that Disney would be at Term. 93 a/b. Hopefully that is reliable info!!

I wish I could take the Residence Inn in PC and move it to LA...loved that hotel when we stayed before the cruise..it was awesome!! Plus we got a 2 room suite for 120...good deal since the room normally is 250!! Ok well off to start seperating stuff to scrapbook! TTFN

We did not buy air through Disney. Southwest has some non-stops from Nashville to LAX. Disney wanted $635 each to fly. Southwest has some Wanna-Get-Away fares at the moment for $135 to $155 each way. Even being 2 years away, I think we will be able to do much better with the airfare than Disney.

Agreed. I didn't even have them price the air while we were on board. I will be stalking southwest as we closer to time. Isn't it about 9 months or so before the date when they open up bookings?

Any suggestions? It's cute! Are we gonna come up with a special name like we did with Disney Dreamers or just gonna be the mexican riviera?? I don't care what we do....I think it's fun having a logo no matter how far out we are cause then people can play around with graphics for FE ideas....I know it's really far out but if I come up with a cute idea then I am gonna spit out like 50 whenever I can so I am not feeling ANY pressure. And I am working on a web page for this cruise as well, though I will make a better list to follow for FE delivery cause when everyone switched rooms on me it screwed up my order....I want a better list cause I hated using my own list to deliver...LOL Well I hope everyone has a great footbal Sunday!!

Mindi---I didn't have her put the date on unless people liked it....didn't want to ask for work to be done if we didn't like. I don't mind help.....honestly I didn't mind doing the FE before it was just all the changing of the closing date and adding more people.....Thats why I am starting early and gonna have plenty of things made so that I don't feel pressured.....I wanna try and do what I had tried doing before and write everyones names in the ship in their room...I stopped cause people kept having problems opening the pages so I am hoping to do that this time and figure out how to adjust the photo. we'll see....not thinking our thread will be way busy for awhile....mostly us dreamers!! =))

I like the logo. I can put a date on it if you like. I also have a template for a "Cruise List" that I have use in cruises past if anyone is interested in seeing it. It is in MS Word format. I kept a list of emails of everyone that "joined" the list, and I would update the list and email it to everyone periodically. The website is much more public, but less labor intensive. PM me your email address if you want to see it. I will put a link to my email in my siggy for everyone later. I'll also show you one of my "dis-green" Mickey Cruise magnets like the one in my signature. Off to Oktoberfest!

There wasn't much color in it because it didn't translate well to the website, and it is a jumbled up mess on the website. Mine is much better organized than the one on the website I had you look at. The list keeper has a big job, I know, I've done it 3 times!! I was just offering to show you another option. BTW, the website looks great! My DW's name is Mary-Margaret. Her dis-name is M&M64

Thanks....this past cruise was my first FE, so I learned I wanted the list I used to deliver them to be more organized. I started out that way but we had a few(no names--lol) that kep switching on me and screwed up my order. So this time I thought of doing port and star side in order of rooms....I have other ideas too....I have photos of the decks and actually wanna write names in the rooms and then it's like a map. Just trying to figure out how to make it easy!! I love new ideas!!

Where did everyone go????? Here DD(Nelia-5) is sick! She sounds awful but so far no sign of fever.....she has had the regular flu flu shot, no it's not that. I think it's a cold but I guess only time will tell! She has gone to bed 2 nights in a row by 7pm....I guess the sleep will hopefully help her body recoop from this. I should be in bed cause I know she will wake coughing around 1pm..arrgghgh! Well any news.??? Nothin else here I guess....just trying to get through the illness and hope the other child doesn't get it!

So it is Walter, and Hunter in 5522. Then Kim,Kyle,Michael,Linda in 5524. We can't wait. Glad to be joining all of you again. Now to decide when to fly in where to stay how to get to port. All the fun starts.

I actually say the rooms were open last night, and called disney, but because we have a TA they would not help me. Almost booked them last night, but did not want to loose our on board benefits. Emailed TA first thing this morning, and she got it done for me. Have not told DH or kids yet. May wait a while for that one. DH has been busy working since we got home, worked 24 hours yesterday and back to work tonight. Feel bad for him, but he loves his job.

Ok well took Nelia to the docs and she just has the common cold as I suspected. We only went cause she said her ear hurt and normally when that has happened before she has had an ear infection. Seems the canal is just red and the ear drums are fine...she said she prolly had swimmers ear.....Hmmm cruise results I am sure...LOL

Ok just a little update.....

I just wanted everyone to think of Andrea's family and keep them in ur prayers during this time. They had a fire in their home,:eek: everyone is safe which is all that matters:lovestruc. Anyhow they are displaced into a hotel. I don't wanna tell to much in case when Andrea does get her laptop back she can inform you all.Talked to her yesterday and they are all doing well..... This morning the girls and I are going to get our H1N1 shots. They are soo excited....:rotfl2:
I told them no drama cause there will be alot of little kids there and they can't upset them. Sydney has asthma so we finally got the shot here , she's been waiting cause asthmatics can't get the mist. Which honestly is ok with me...I personally am not into something up my nose that is "live"

OK so I got out on good behavior today!! OK so I didn't steal their ideas, just modified! I found somethings that were crafted and then found things at the craft store to change it around a little!! They are small and cute , so easy to travel. Do U know how hard it is to not share this with my dreamers....Oh and we have another dreamer joining us......I think most of you know since we are like all on FB, but if you don't I won't spoil it, I will let her come on and say so....I am just so excited!! Ok well today I go to the child psychologist to discuss what to do about Nelia and the issues that have arrived from her being locked and stuck in the stateroom bathroom for over 20mins-half hour. Hopefully she has ways to deal with this. Alright well I am off to work...yuck!

Kyle had decided that him and I were going to Boston for his birthday next year, he can to me last night... Mom, I have a better idea and a better idea for us to bond. Yes Kyle what is it. I think you and I should go on a cruise! Now if all of you rennet this is the child who was gone first thing in the morning and did not come back till middle of the night or sunrise. He thinks we can bond at dinner time?? Not sure what he is thinking. The plus side for the two of us will prob be cheaper then Boston. Magic will be in dry dock, maybe 3/4 btb on the wonder. Also looking at new rcl boat or carnival.

Well, looks like I will be joining you as well. I am in the process of transferring my booking that I made for the EB Transatlantic over to this one.

They have decided at work to only have a skeleton staff on over Christmas. As I don't drive and there is no public transport over Christmas, I have not been rostered and they applied leave for those days. This means that I now don't have enough leave for both Transatlantics. With the paid in full date less than a month away, I had to make a decision. So I had a look on the DCL website yesterday and my favourite cabin (6521) is available. So that really swung it. Now my travel agent just has to work her magic. For now it is just me, but I hope that DH will be added somewhere down the line.

I still have not completely given up on the EB Transatlantic (so the ticker is still there). I am hoping that once the roster for April is published that I might be able to do a bit of swapping and might be able to rebook on short notice. However, there is no telling if this will work out and as availability is still good, I should be able to make the final decision about 6 weeks before. If I can swing it, I will use DVC points for that cruise.

So the Dr gave me some therapeutic things to do with Nelia to help her realize that most doors unlock. Also she wants me to let Nelia write Disney and in her own words tell them what they could have done better in that situation and how to make sure it's handled better in the future. She said this will give Nelia some control over the situation and hopefully Disney will respond to her and make her feel like she is in control and was heard. Doc said this will be good therapy for her. So we will prolly work on that in the next few weeks!

Ok well I am off to bed, I am so tired and have some Xmas present to work on tomorrow!! TTFN

We are 100% committed to this cruise. Yes, you read correct, we :goodvibes. Graham took me out for my birthday lunch today and asked what I had decided about the EB Transatlantic. I told him that I had canceled it and had transferred the booking to this cruise. He asked me a few questions and then asked me to add him to the reservation. So as soon as I get confirmation that the transfer has all gone through, I will add him onto the reservation.

If I can swing the EB Transatlantic, then I book this using DVC points in addition to the cruises I have currently booked. Anyway, it does not count as one is in 2010 and the other in 2011.;)

I am glad that Nelia has been able to see a psychologist regarding the trauma that she experienced on the Magic. Writing to Disney sounds like a great idea. I just hope that she gets a response.

Today I made my coasters for my family....That was an awesome idea Terri for our FE. Thanks for telling me tips on doing it. My mom and the kids teachers will love them. Especially since I am using personal photos. I have made like 25 so far....Just 15 more to go and I can be done! Corinna I love your cell phone charm idea that I am gonna make some for Sydney's competition dance group with their group names on them for their national competition gift!
Now U guys are challenging me to make something a little different since alot of Dreamers are traveling...can't give u repeat things...LOL I might use some of my same ideas just change to fit this cruise! Hi everyone! Yes I'm still alive. Been extremely busy and that won't let up til after the holidays. Our church's Christmas production opens in a couple of weeks so starting this week my DH has to be at the rehearsals with his video team so they are ready to videotape the performances. This is a huge ministry at our church with close to 200 cast members and at least another 150 to 200 more people behind the scenes. Please pray for my sanity as I'll become somewhat a single parent during this time. :)

Anyway, so glad to hear that so many of our Dreamers are joining together again on this cruise ship. :) Way cool! :) As for the FE's, due to financial struggles in our lives right now, we won't be participating. If things change between now and then I'll let you all know. :)

Anyway, as I said, things have been busy around here. I turned 40 early this month, we had Lilli's Gotcha Day on the 11th (that is a celebration of the day we received her from the orphanage in Vietnam) and now Richard and I are trying to get over a bug. Oye. :) Thankfully my bug is so far less than his. We'll only hope this continues. :)

Got a very busy schedule this week (and like I said til all the holidays are over) but will do my best to swing by to visit you all!

Woohoo!! Big Success in Black Friday today. Went out at 2am and scored everything I needed. Old Navy things, DS's(2-1 for each DD), games for DS, movies, flash drives, SD cards (of course for more cruise 2011 photos), jammies, coats, etc Had fun talking to Robin & Norma in New York while I was shopping in Ohio. We shopped together just via phone...LOL I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

We are passing on Christmas this year. I work for a Dubai based airline and have a couple of free tickets for which I only need to pay the airport taxes. I also spotted a brilliant deal on a 5 star hotel in Dubai over Christmas and decided to book it. I have never stayed in a 5 star hotel before. We will fly out on Christmas Eve and come back on 30th December. I am so looking forward to this.

Unfortunately not. Staying at the Atlantis on the Palm (the only hotel there so far) would eat up my cruise budget for the next two years :confused3

We are staying in the centre of Dubai so everywhere we want to go is just a short taxi ride away. I am hoping to spend a day at the Atlantis though. I will take plenty of photos. This is where we will be staying:

Michelle, I'm with you on the cruise thing. It's freezing here! :( It snowed beautifully early in the evening yesterday and then it turned to ice, freezing rain and now just plain rain. :( If it's going to do something I'd rather it just snow like crazy and be done with it. And, what's worse for me is my car tires need to be replaced in a huge way and I can't do that for another week. :( So although the roads are now only wet I'm going to have to be very careful tonight when the temps start to drop. :( Not fun!

Anyway, although we are in a financial hardship at this moment, I'm really hoping that somehow some way I will be able to come up with a few extra funds to do a short cruise with just my hubby early next year. I now sell Avon so I'm doing all I can to try to save as many funds as possible from that. If it doesn't happen at least I'll have a very good start to my Mexican Riviera cruise! :)

Glad to see you are getting ready for Christmas. We celebrated with my in-laws on Sunday---glad to see my sister-in-law and family that cruised with us but just muttlled through with the others. Lori and fam are gonna come stay the night Xmas eve and enjoy our special red-suit visitor:santa: and then stay and open Xmas presents in the morning. It will be so fun to share the morning together.

Ok so it's the morning and I returned. Kristi---this is a special time---just last year we were enjoying sharing the moments before Katelin came into your life. After searching the Dreamers thread I can't find the exact date that you were givin the blessing of Katelin. I thought I had the blog you guys wrote saved in my favs but I probably lost it when my comp had issues.
I am so excited we get to spend 1 yr and 9months and so on being involved in each others lives and sharing another cruise! It's so nice that the "Dreamers" returnng for this cruise are the ones who were involved alot in that cruise! I am even more excited about the "MOuseketeers" cruise!

Well I was excited to get an email a few days ago from Disney saying Welcome to another cruise. At first I thought , they couldn't possibly be talking about the Mexican Riviera, maybe they booked me on another:rotfl:
But no it was the Mousketeers cruise. I actually am getting excited they are posting info. I can't wait till they get excursion info, it gives me something to research. I have already found the hotel I am seriously considering. It's a Residence Inn just like we stayed in in PC Kim. I loved that hotel and I think we are thinking of going out 3 days early so I want a nice place. I actually have looked at excursions on RCCL and Carnival since they go there just to get an idea! Well I guess I have rambled to myself enough.....I am feeling like Kristi...:lmao:

Michelle, I'm with you on the cruise thing. It's freezing here! :( It snowed beautifully early in the evening yesterday and then it turned to ice, freezing rain and now just plain rain. :( If it's going to do something I'd rather it just snow like crazy and be done with it. And, what's worse for me is my car tires need to be replaced in a huge way and I can't do that for another week. :( So although the roads are now only wet I'm going to have to be very careful tonight when the temps start to drop. :( Not fun!

Anyway, although we are in a financial hardship at this moment, I'm really hoping that somehow some way I will be able to come up with a few extra funds to do a short cruise with just my hubby early next year. I now sell Avon so I'm doing all I can to try to save as many funds as possible from that. If it doesn't happen at least I'll have a very good start to my Mexican Riviera cruise! :)

There will definitely be photos. The camera is fully charged and I will take the laptop as well. We have extended our vacation by an extra two days as we are flying standby (first time ever) and the loads for December 30th looked horrible. I have a Dune Dinner Safari booked for boxing day, but other than that we will just chill out and hopefully swim a lot.

I am still here, but have not had much time to spend online recently. We are hopefully going to spend some time in San Diego before the cruise and maybe a few days at Disneyland afterwards. This is such a long way to come for us that it has to be worth our while.

Well just wanted to stop in and say hi! I am so excited that in a few days we can stop saying we are cruising in 2011 and instead be able to say we are cruising NEXT YEAR! :banana: I know it's only a few days but it's a state of mind...LOL We are down to 1 yr 9 months!! We have made progress!!
I hope all of you have had safe and wonderful holidays! Though most of ya I chat with on FB. Maybe our cruise will grow after Jan and people get income tax money....though I do remember from our last cruise we had many come in the last 6-9 months. I have gotten some ideas for FE's and got a few things for the youngest girls. Shopped off clearance...always gotta be in FE thoughts to find some cute things. :flower3:
My girls did good for xmas...just made sure they got the one main thing they were asking for and of course a few other things. Sydney has not put down her DS and Nelia loves her newest addition to her American Girl doll family. Now of course Nelia is asking for a DS too...Lucky for her she has a b-day on Jan 28th so I bought an extra one on sale on black friday knowing she would want one. So bday is done!!! :)

I left the ticker up as I had still not entirely given up on this, but it is becoming more unlikely by the day. What is becoming more likely that both Graham and I will book one of the Med cruises on short notice. I had booked an Eastern Caribbean cruise for our anniversary in 2011 and had intended to give this to Graham as his Christmas present, but he does not want to do this cruise. So we will transfer the booking to a Med cruise this year. There are some great Cat 12 prices around at the moment for those cruises.

Of course I had our vow renewal planned for the February 2011 cruise so I need to find another cruise for that and what better cruise for it then our cruise.

Hey Mouseketeers!! Anyone out there....Woohoo! Well unfortunately we lost Terri to a cruise with Andrea on the Dream B2B. I hope Terri and Andrea have a ball but they will be missed!!

So anything new with everyone? We work work work here. Nelia has been ill since before Xmas. Sinus infection but unfortunately being allergic to penicillan makes treating infection hard and limits your normal med choices! So now she's on a strong med and we hope it kicks the sinus infections butt.

Well after calling Disney to ask about our vacation insurance and how long I had to cancel it, I asked a few other questions. It seems that excursions for the Mexican Rviera should be available sometime this summer. I am excited to research and decide on something good and then research and see what others have said about that excursion. I am hoping we can do a dolphin excursion but looking on other cruise lines and on the dolphin places personal sites..It seems that they are more expensive then the places on the western cruise. I guess we'll see.
I found some clearance tops for dinner that I may save for the cruise, depends cause I like them. Usually if I hide them in a tote--outta site outta mind, which is how I end up with a whole new wardrobe for all 4 of us! Already found stuff for the girls too!

Well I am off to figure out what I making for 4 little girls. Nelia has her best friends who happen to be twins over so it's girl girl girls in this house right now

February is a big month again for us with Valentines and several family birthdays. We were thinking of going to Key West for spring break, but the friends we were going with decide to go to Vegas. I'm saving my Vegas trip for October & hopefully a Jimmy Buffett concert @ MGM!!(yes, I'm a Parrothead!):rockband: We may just hang around here this spring, maybe a long weekend to the mountains or maybe the Gulf coast..:beach:..haven't been to Seaside lately... hummmmm....:scratchin Don't know what it is, I'm just drawn to water. The local lakes just don't cut it either, gotta be blue water!!

OK Robin is a tatal(SP) tale!!!!! I was slightly swayed to look and maybe book the Dream and go with Andrea, Teri, and Laura for aB2B. I was a bit worried about the air to CA....So anyhow after weighing the pros/cons we have decided that we are staying on this cruise. All of you were definately a PRO!!! I mean Kim I couldn't get a better neighbor!!! Also it is so nice for the girls that they have "friends" on the cruise already!!
So Robin stop narking on me!! Nitches get stitches!!!

Today is Nelia's birthday BIG 6!!! Well she's excited cause she got a DS lite so her birthday is the best ever...well that's what she said...LOL until next yr!!

Hi everyone! I certainly hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to share some bad news. :( We will not be going on this cruise with you all now. :sad1: Our lives are kinda up in the air right now. Our financial status is not good and Richard is probably going to lose his job soon. We are in the process of tightening up our budget in a huge way and we're trying to prepare for a job change for him (which will most likely mean a major move). In tightening up our budget we had to let go of the cruise. We can't afford to pay even $10 a month toward the cruise right now and to also have to pay airfare to California and hotel for at least one night it just wasn't remotely possible.

I am certainly going to miss each and every one of you and believe me when I say that I've been crying over this. But I have to look at the reality of life right now and I have to make the right decision. We aren't even going to reschedule right now. We're going to wait and see what comes our way over the next year.

I do hope I can continue to keep up with those of you who are on Facebook as you have become great friends. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to meet you all. I pray that we will sail together again sometime!

I am so sorry to hear that you are probably not joining us. I am not willing to completely give up on you yet, though. The cruise is still nearly two years away. You never know, the job change might actually work out for the better and you might be able to rejoin us at a later stage. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Well, I am still here even though I rarely have time for the DISBoards nowadays, but I am always with you in spirit. The last few months have been interesting to say the least.

We are considering booking the first Med cruise this year. They have a very good price for category 12 cabins for that cruise and of course Barcelona is not too far away for us. I have the vacation time booked, but something is stopping me from emailing DU to transfer our February 2011 Eastern Caribbean Cruise, which we definitely will not be going on to this one. I don't really know why I am even hesitating.

I also still have not got around to adding DH to this cruise. I am teasing him mercilessly that I will be going by myself. He does not see the funny side of this at all.

I too have bad news to report....most of you have been told due to FB contact but for those that are not on FB. WE will not be taking this cruise. When booking onboard we didn't consider the outrageous costs in airfare. And I have done alot of research and basically I can save 600-1200 in air by going to Florida instead. We have decided to do just that and are gonna join a few other dreamers by doing a B2B on the dream this same week. The kids are excited cause they have seen photos of the clubs, and aqua duck, plus really wanted to go to MNSSHP again and it's definately not the same in CA. So I hope you all have a great time and I will so miss my Dreamers!! Maybe our paths will cross again on another Disney cruise and we have FB =)

We have had an unusually snowy and cold winter this year and we are ready for spring! :beach: It was the 11th coldest winter on record and the coldest in 30 years. Before I get in trouble, it's on to cruise business! It's sad to see some our cruise friends leaving for various reasons. :sad: I wish you the best and hopefully things will turn around for everyone & the country as a whole. It would appear we need a new list-keeper since Michelle had the website with the list on it. :surfweb: I am willing if no one else is interested. If I keep the list, I would use email instead of a website. I have a list template I have used on other cruise threads. I can make it either a Word document or an Excel file. Excel is easier but, most everyone has Word now, and if you don't have either one, I can save it as a pdf so you can see it using Adobe Reader. How this would work is, anyone wanting to be on the list can send me an email, (details later) and I add them to the list, then email an updated list to everyone periodically. I would be delighted to keep the list, or if someone else would rather do it on a website, that's OK too!! SO, what is everyone's preference? :confused3

Oh, this is a real shame. I was really looking forward to having loads of familiar faces around for our vow renewal. Oh well, it simply was not meant to be. We are definitely sticking with the Wonder. The Magic is my favourite ship, but DH prefers to Wonder. So after 3 cruises in a row on the Magic, he has deserved to spend a week on his favourite ship. I am curious about the Dream, but we both hate Nassau with a passion so nothing would possess us to go there twice again (we did this in 2008 when we did the 5 Night Special Cruise on the Magic followed by a 4 night cruise on the Wonder). I am expecting that the Dream will switch to 7 night cruises in 2012 and then we will be first in line for a cruise on the Dream.

We have only been on the Wonder once. The cruise on the Wonder was the first cruise that we booked, but ended up the second cruise that we went on. Although we both love both ships, I have a slight preference for the Magic and DH for the Wonder. After doing three cruises in a row on the Magic, it is only fair that he will get a cruise on the Wonder.

It will also be nice to spend some time in Southern California hopefully both before and after the cruise. We have not been there since 2006.

Well, I am back from my Med cruise on the Magic and had a wonderful time. I paid off the Transatlantic cruise yesterday so that is definitely going to happen as well. I can't wait. Still mulling over a vow renewal for this cruise.

I was wondering what sort of activities you were interested in for all the ports in Mexico? We are still trying to decide ourselves.
We will have one week at Disneyland before the cruise, which is fun but I am looking forward to the cruise so I can enjoy the use of the kids club and for once not have to run it!! (I'm a director in a child care centre)

We have not really given this any thought as yet. We are hoping to come a few days before the cruise and stay for a few days after. We are hoping to go to San Diego and also to Disneyland during pre and post cruise stays.

We lean towards excursions were we can swim in the sea and if a dolphin swim is available somewhere, then that is a bonus.

We have the Westbound Transatlantic Cruise to look forward to and are hoping to do another cruise in April or May next year. At the moment we are torn between a back to back on the Dream or the Eastbound Transatlantic. I suspect that they decision is going to be made on the Transatlantic this year.

Tequilla farm sounds interesting. We have plenty of beaches, but it is usually too cold here to go in the water. I am a real water-baby and could spend hours just floating in the sea.

As to the wine tasting, I would be very surprised if there wouldn't be one. I did a very port intensive Med cruise on the Magic earlier this month. I noticed that they had less activities on the sea days than on our 7 day cruise last year, but they had a wine tasting on every sea day (with different wines for each) as well as beer tasting, Tequilla and Margarita tasting, Martini Tasting, Mixology class, Whisky Tasting and Cognac Tasting.

Just for everyone to be able to keep up with who all is going on the cruise, who has children the same ages etc. Hadn't thought about the FE angle, I could revamp it to include FE participants. I decorated our door for the the first time on our Med cruise a couple of months ago. I could never understand why people decorated their doors. Then I found some graphics on our Cruise Meet thread that I really loved and decided to have a go at making magnets. Once I found the Cruise Magnet thread, I was hooked. The next thing I knew was that I ordered a Xyron to make magnets with. Here is our door on the Med cruise:

I have spare prints of all the magnets (I had the graphics printed on an online photo print service) and they will eventually be going in a scrapbook. This is of course assuming that I will ever get around to getting one. I really wanted the special scrapbook that they had for the Med cruises, but my luggage allowance was very limited. I am hoping that they will still have them on the Transatlantic (an hopefully at a discount). The plan is to buy one on the first sea day and mail it home from Gibraltar.

As for the magnets, DH has promised me to put a big sheet of metal behind the bed so that I can put all my cruise specific magnets on there.

We are also DVC members and live in the UK. We are a childless couple, but big kids at heart. What is your DVC home resort? They do a fun member celebration on each cruise that is 4 nights or longer.

We did the excursion on a Carnival cruise for our honeymoon a few years ago, and it was an awesome albeit expensive experience. Swimming on and with a dolphin is something I will never forget.

I have swam with dolphins almost more often now than I can remember. It truly is an amazing experience. I was also lucky enough to interact with Belugas at Seaworld Orlando and with killer whales at Seaworld San Diego. I have swum with dolphins at Discovery Cove (7 times), Seaworld San Diego (once) and Dolphin Discovery Cozumel (once). I have also done the Dolphin in Depth tour at Epcot, the Marine Mammal Keeper Experience at Seaworld Orlando (twice), Trainer for a Day at Seaworld San Diego (once), the Dolphin Nursery Tour (twice) and Dolphin Spotlight Tour (once) at Seaworld Orlando. During four of my visits to Discovery Cove, I did Trainer for a Day there as well. Dolphins are my big passion.

I regret to inform you all that we have changed our cruise date. There were some uncertainties with the fall school schedule for 2011. My DW is a teacher. The local school district is building a new school that is scheduled to open fall 2011. If construction falls behind, they will hold the opening of schools until the building is ready. As a consequence, we decided to go in the spring "just in case". We will be on the March 13, 2011 Mexican Riviera. I will still take "homeboycartel's" info and add it to the list if they send it soon. You are welcome to keep the list I started and keep adding to it. It looks complicated but it really isn't!! Again I'm sorry to bail out on you all, but the uncertainty just made us too uncomfortable about maybe missing the cruise altogether. If you like, I'll drop by and tell you about it when we get back!! The one big plus to this is, now we only have 271 day to cruise instead of 466!!! Sorry, I know, thats cold.... :teeth:

I am still here. It has been awhile since I posted because I wasnt sure if we were going to do this cruise or not. Everyone was enticed by the Dream and it did sound like a beautiful ship, but we were leaning more towards Royal Caribbean (less expensive).

Well I find this job interfees with my girls and our time together. So I might go work for a friend that owns a Qdoba. and I am trying to get a child to do home daycare for. I just wanna be home for my kids in the summer and I can't keep up with house like I want to....OMG I miss being home!:eek: Ok so that is how my day is...how about urs?

Becky-----last cruise was my first cruise to do the FE out of 3 cruises and my kids(9&5 at the time) loved coming back to find whatever... I personally have found my crafty side by doing the FE. I have found some ideas from others and then modified them to my version. I have made some of the best friends on here....only problem is they live in New York, Alabama, TN, and UK....sheesh! But it is nice to chat and share in each others lives only from a distance! It's even nicer that our kids will go back on the cruise and be like "hey it's you" to each others kids...LOL nothing like cruising with a group of friends!

Michelle-- this will be our second cruise (we weren't going to get the chance to go back). I learnt lots about DCL while onboard so this time i thought what a great way to enjoy cruising even more than I already do. Hannah will turn 6 on the second day of the cruise so I now don't feel like she missed out. See Maddie turned 6 on our first cruise and she enjoyed it. I am looking forward to doing a FE as there are so many talented people on DCL. These boards have been the best thing out. I can't wait to catch up and have a drink with you. I think it would be great to know other people not only in the States but from the UK. I have family in Alaska and Minnesota and it's Disney that has brought me back to the States after 30 years. My daughters keep thinking that they will meet my family this time but explaining where Alaska and Minnesota are doesn't help.....at least not yet anyway.

Boy, you are organized. I have not even given any thought what I might be doing for our group. Actually, this is not quite correct. I have some ideas, but they are not homemade stuff. I will start to think about that when I get back from my next cruise. I am always struggling to come up with something initially, but once I have an idea, I get 10 more.

I know what you mean about people posting once and then disappearing. For our next cruise, the organizers for the lanyards and Fish Extenders have been chasing people for weeks now who originally signed up, but since disappeared off the face of the earth.

I am so busy at the moment. I have to finish off the end of quarter paperwork by tomorrow. We still don't have the sales stats for June and I have to type up evaluations for 10 team members. Fortunately I am on the late shift today so hopefully I will get most of it done.

I had my hair cut last week. It is shorter and a different style and I love it. I can't find my camera lead at the moment. I am also not quite sure how to put a photo on Facebook. All the photos that are on there were put there for me by other people.

I have my video appointment to get my custom jewellery for formal night made on Thursday. I am so excited. Of course, things did not go entirely to plan. I chose the beads and sent them to the jewellery artist. I went for white pearls and Swarovsky crystals in white, pink, clear and light blue. I have one pink and white evening gown and the other gown that I had custom made was supposed to be pink and blue. Of course, when I received it, it was just light blue so the jewellery will not be quite so perfect a fit as I had envisaged, but I am sure it will still look lovely.

The same artist also made me a pendant for the person I am giving to for Secret Mickey yesterday. I asked for a pendant with a Pirate Princess theme and also asked her to incorporate some of the beads that I had sent her for my custom project. She chose one of the pearls and the larger crystals are also from the stuff that I sent her. I am absolutely in love with this piece of jewellery. I think I might need to to get her to make one for me as well.

The other custom made gift is going to be more difficult. I want to get a embroidered and personalised pillow case that the person I am gifting to can have signed by the characters. Of course , her favourite "character" is the castle. So I have sent the person who has done pillow cases and Fish Extenders for me in the past a message to see if she can do a castle design.

Well, I think he is. He spent his last birthday on the Magic when we were cruising with a lot of the people who are cruising with us as well. This year we were planning on flying back to the UK to Florida just before his birthday, but we are now staying at Bay Lake Tower until October 7th. Next year he will celebrate his birthday on the Wonder. I am getting rather jealous.

I would say the cut off date needs to be at least two month prior to sailing. I have something planned for Fish Extender that needs a bit of advance preparation and it is not possible to add on extra people once I placed my order.

We have been discussing on our cruise meet thread for the Transatlantic Cruise about getting dressed up for the new Villains theme night. I did not really want to do the whole costume thing, but thought that purple and black are kind of villains colours. I had bid on the perfect Monsoon dress on Ebay, but did not get it. I had a look in town today, but the only dress that kind of caught my eye was silly expensive. So I decided to order another dress from China. I have ordered this dress, but with black lace instead of the white lace:

I will wear a black pashmina with this and a black or black and purple fascinator.

I also did some preparation for this cruise. Graham had a chess match tonight so I spent some quality time doing magnets. I pretty much have the magnets for the Transatlantic cruise finished. I have about 30 magnets for this and also made 9 magnets for our cruise.

I am debating getting a gown this time around for formal night. Michelle wore that black one last cruise and I liked that. I guess I will shop around and see. I think 2 months out is good for a cut off date. Then we can just do a late comers list if need be.

This is the second dress that I ordered from China. I thought I had posted pictures of the evening gown that I had made in China on here, but maybe not. This was made to my measurements and the quality is out of this world.

A pashmina is a cashmere and silk shoulder wrap.

A fascinator is a hair accessory that was tradionally worn at weddings instead of a hat, but is now worn for all kind of special occassions. Here is the kind of thing that I am after:

I love wearing gowns for formal night.

I don't think we will have a Villains Night on the Wonder. This is to go with the Villains Tonight show, which as far as I am aware, is only shown on the Magic and the Dream. I have not seen the show yet, but on our Med cruise, we had a Villains Menu and a "Villains Masquerade Ball" in the atrium after the late dinner seating. During the day, there were various activities to make masks for that event.

Michelle, I think a two month cut off is great. Due to us travelling from Australia to the State I have to watch our lugagge allowance. I have been getting busy with gifts but finding time around work and children is a little hard. I will check out the new page tonight as well.

Thanks all for the compliments on the web page....I just tweeked it a bit this morning. We now have a seperate FE page and a roll call page. I made a list of everyone on the cruise thread and then made the FE list for those doing that. That way when u print the FE list for your delivering on the ship, it will ONLY have those participating on it. Right now it seems really long but as we get closer I will delete all the empty lines and make it smaller. Also I added allergies to the list, I don't want any of us giving someone something that could make them ill on board a Wonderful cruise!!

Norma---I took that full gown on and just packed it in my suitcase....suggestion---I figured I didn't care if it got wrinkled cause I sent it out for dry cleaning on the ship as soon as I got to my room , I through it in the dry cleaning bag and set it out for our stateroom host and he took it and had it in my room the next day. It was like only $10 and so worth not paying to check a garment bag which round trip would have cost me $40. Anyhow just what I did and plan to do again!!

I do the same. On the last cruise I had a brand new gown that did not need dry cleaning, but I sent it to be pressed. If you just need it pressed, it is half price.

Yeah we have done the pressing too. I had to dry clean this last time cause I got my dress from a sale and it wasn't new so I wanted it washed...LOL
Well I am officially done working that day job. I am gonna take a month off then go back and work nights for a friend...just like 15 hrs a week nothing big. So anyhow I am off to check out things and then to bed....TTFN

Good morning everybody. Becky, the photo is lovely. It's nice to be able to put faces to names.

I had a fairly lazy weekend, but it is back to work today. I am waiting for my grocery shopping which I ordered online on Saturday. This should get here anytime now. Then it is off to work. I have my packages sent to work and hopefully the materials for my latest jewellery design will be there. I have decided to make some jewellery for Villains Night. I can't wait to experiment with a new design.

I have contacted Disney Fairy Tale Weddings regarding our vow renewal yesterday. I don't think that I can actually book this until a year out, but I figured there is no harm in showing interest. I unearthed the shoes that I was wearing for our wedding some 12 years ago and I intend to wear those as my "something old". I did not do the "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" first time around. I have the "something new" sorted (the dress and new wedding bands) and probably the "something blue" as well. I ordered a gorgeous filigree tiara with blue crystals for formal night on the Transatlantic. If it is anything as nice in real life as it does in the photos, then I am definitely going to wear this for the vow renewal. So that would just leave the "something borrowed" which has me stumped at the moment, but I still have about 15 months to sort this out. I can't wait to get started with a planning journal, but I think I better hold off until I have been able to book the vow renewal.
