I also have seperated lists of cruisers....1st page has all the Mousketeers and then there is a page with a FE list on it. that way only FE'ers are on that list to print for delivery!! Ok well off to pack for our 4 day competition dance trip!! Leaving Friday and I am still packing and the Dreamers know that I don't function like that...I will be packed for our cruise 3 months out...LOL TTFN

I had a lovely surprise today. Since December I have been going to the gym quite regularly. During the Soccer World Cup they had a competition where you had to do 30 minutes exercise for each country in the World Cup. At the halfway stage you got a special event t shirt and everybody who completed it was put in a draw for some really neat prices. Well, we won a spa day for two. DH is trying to find out more details tomorrow. I can't wait to do this.

Thanks for all your lovely compliments! Dave is my blue eyed man in uniform and who can resist a man in uniform? My girls got his blue eyes and I'm still trying to figure out what they got from me!!!

I have been showing the girls all the photos and I have to say there are many beautiful families to meet. the countdown is slowly starting and it goes something like this:
Hannah: "how long til we go on the cruise and meet our new friends?'
me "after I have my birthday, after your birthday, after we go to Singapore, after Christmas then you start school."
Hannah: "But when do we go? I want to see Mickey and play with my new friends."
Me:"Next year"
Hannah:"but when is that"
She is only 4 She will be 5 in 3 months!!!

Talk to you all soon

I am still here, but have been a busy bee. I hope you had a great time at the Nationals.

I am having a 6 day week at work this week and things have been pretty intense. Fortunately I will have tomorrow off. After work today, I headed into town. I saw a really beautiful dress in the sales in my favourite shop last week and I have regretted ever since that I did not buy it. So I wanted to go and check if it was still available. Of course it was not. That eaches me, doesn't it.

I also saw some shoes on a thread on the UK Community Board that I really fell in love with. We have a stockist of this particular brand in town and I just wanted to check out if they would fit me. They were even more gorgeous in real life and they had them in my size, but they have a strap over the top of the foot which was too tight. So I came back empty-handed.

I am starting to develop a serious shoe habit. I could never understand why people were so keen on buying shoes, but now that I have found a brand of shoes that are both quirky and fit me, I think my shoe count will go up quite a bit.

Apart working and shopping, my next cruise is keeping me busy. In 7 weeks I will be on the Magic. I have agreed to run some jewellery workshops on the cruise for our DIS group and that keeps me busy at the moment. I would not miss this for the world though. I have been making jewellery for a number of years now and used to teach jewellery making to children at the boarding school I used to work at. I am looking forward to sharing my hobby with other people.

In two weeks I will go to the south coast of England with some people from the UK Community Board. They get together for an annual Girlie Weekend. Last year, I went for the first time and I had such a great time. I can't wait to go again this year.

I am also busy planning our vow renewal. I have started on making the magnets for this. The kind people on the Cruise Magnet thread have come up with some beautiful designs for me and I can't wait to display them.

Tomorrow I intend to sleep in and then do some brunch for DH and me. I then have a personal training session booked at the gym in the early afternoon, so I will work it off again. When I get back, we will probably watch a DVD and just relax.

Corinna----that sounds awesome, I would love jewelry class onboard...:goodvibes

I just got back Friday from Ocean City! A week there for Syd's dance competition and I had a BLAST!!!:cloud9: We were set to leave tuesday and Syd danced the line # which includes her whole competition team of 40 dancers, well they made Battle of the Stars which was on thursday. So we had to scramble around to find a hotel for 3 nts. We succeeded and it turned out great! That will teach me to doubt their ability to make it to the Battle!! :dance3: Then we went to this awesome restaurant called Phillips which had an all -u-can-eat seafood :)buffet,,AWESOME and $125 later but dang it was good!! Now I am broke...LOL We had a great time on the Beach!! Nothing like a great vacation and watching your DD on stage. Here's some pics of Sydney from her solo performance. She won a special award for this performance!! She got 4 1/4 stars out of 5 so we were happy! Actually her teacher doesn't make them feel bad no matter what they get...she's the best dance teacher ever!!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Congratulations to Sydney and the team. I have seen some of your updates on Facebook as well.

As far as the jewellery workshop is concerned, we will see how this works out on the Transatlantic cruise. If it works out well and there is interest from the people here, I am quite happy to run one on our cruise as well. I ordered three sets of travel size tools for the upcoming cruise so they might as well get used.

I had a lovely surprise when I got to work today. The dress that I had ordered for Villains night on the Transatlantic cruise has already arrived. I had only ordered this on July 12th and this was made to my measurements in China. I have to say, this looks rather regal. The colour is a gorgeous shade of purple and this time round it is exactly the colours I asked for. It has a bit of a train, which was not obvious from the photo. It is just really gorgeous and I am glad that I decided to order this. I can't wait to try this on. At the moment it is sitting on my filing cabinet next to my desk. This has been widely admired in the office and two of my colleagues wanted the details of the seller.

Here the kids go back to school in the first week of September, but they did not break up for the summer until July 22nd.

I know what you mean about the long wait from booking to cruise until actually sailing. We have had nearly two years for the Transatlantic cruise as well, but we are now getting so close that it is nearly time for room assignments.

I like the only a month off if they had another couple weeks one time and another couple weeks.....those little 2 wk breaks could work wonders and not make the yr drag!!

I can't wait to start researching where to stay and rental cars and such. Any thoughts on how early everyone is going out to LA and what ur gonna do before boarding? Any thoughts on where to stay? I am confused whether I wanna stay close to DL, or port or what. HELP....LOL

Ok..Mouseketeers!! I have added the page "Mouseketeer Family Vacations" to our web page. I thought if we took Disney or even other vacations and we wanted to share photos, we should have a page to share. I have posted some of Carol and Alex since they are leaving today on the Wonder(I think) and going on a 5nt'er. Carol texted me some photos so I ma sharing them with all of you!! Check it out... Very cool pics of Carol and Alex. Wish I were going too!!! A little over a year left.

I am going out dress shopping for myself right after I get the kids there school clothes. I found these really cool pair of sandals and now I must find the right dress to go with them. It might take a year to do it:)

Nothing new and exciting that I can think of going on with me. Just got back from Wildwood, NJ. The kids enjoyed going to the boardwalk and water parks there. That is our mini vacation for the summer:)

Michelle you have done a great job with the website. Now if only more people would hop on our thread!!!!:goodvibes

It actually works out as about 6 weeks over the summer. I grew up in Germany and we had the same length of time off over the summer. We also got a week in October, 2 to 3 weeks over Christmas and 2 to 3 weeks over Easter. On top of this we had some long weekends around public holidays. 6 weeks vacation was more than enough for me every summer. I was bored by about week 3 or 4. In Europe, all activities just stop as well. So there is very little to do. There is just so many times you can go swimming.

The regular breaks during the year were definitely a good thing.

We are probably going to come to California about a week before the cruise and probably stay for another week afterwards. For us it is such a long way to come that it has to be worth our while. we would like to spend 3 or 4 days in San Diego. We might actually see if we can get a flight into San Diego and out of Los Angeles. Then we would do San Diego first and then just get a one-way care rental to get us to Los Angeles. If we do this, then we would drive up to Los Angeles the day before the cruise and just find a hotel near the port for one night. After the cruise, we are hoping to use our DVC points at Grand Californian Villas.

I have to check this out tonight when I am at home. I will definitely contribute to this after my next vacation.

Well done on finding the sandals. Good luck on finding a dress to go with your sandals. What colour are they?

I have started to develop a bit of a shoe habit. I don't know if you have Irregular Choice shoes in the USA, but they are really quirky shoes and very gorgeous. I have now 4 pairs that I managed to get in the sales for at least 50% off.

Captain Mickey does love us! We got our cabin assignment yesterday and DCL gave us 6521, which is one of the sideways category 11 cabins and just happens to be our favourite cabin. We got this assigned when we booked category 11 GTY for our very first cruise and just fell in love with it. We chose it for our Western Caribbean cruise and also have it booked for this cruise. I have become aware a number of weeks ago that this cabin was now empty as it was assigned to a family from our cCruise Meet thread that is no longer able to come as the husband sadly passed away. When I mentioned it to Graham, he kept asking that I contact our travel agent to request this cabin. I told him that I could not do this as the whole idea behind GTY is that they can put you anywhere on the ship. Well, I supposed they must have checked our record and decided to dish out some pixie dust. For me this really is pixie dust. When I saw this last night, I nearly started to cry, I was so happy. I can honestly say that I would not be any happier if they had assigned us the Walt suite.

Now I just have to hope that they will give us the server I have requested and that we get some nice table mates and this will be the perfect cruise.

I have contacted the queen of Fish Extenders on Ebay to see if she has any designs that would be suitable for a wedding or vow renewal. If she has, I will have a new Fish Extender made for our cruise.

Corinna~The sandals I bought are silver with beads on them. I love them and hope to find the perfect dress or else I cant wear them:sad2: I love shoes too. But my house isnt big enough to hold all the shoes I would like to buy, so alas, I dont get them.

I was looking at our old cruise meet thread and was counting how many people we had talking at this point in the cruise and there were only 7 families interacting. It wasnt until sept that Michelle and Corinna had joined, so I do believe that more people will come as fall gets here. After that we had a bunch of people jumping on and talking.:)

OK going back to facebook to see if anything is going on there!

Wow! everyone has been busy. Congrats to Sydney's team.
Corrina can't wait to see photos of your dress.
I hae been busy as Maddie has started back at school after 3 weeks off. she has two weeks break coming up at the end of September and then we head off to Singapore for a week in December. This will start 6 weeks of school holidays. At the end of January Hannah will then start her first year of schooling. I will then be able to work without my children! Working in childcare can be great but it can be really hard when your children are with you all the time.
My father in law is putting the final plans in place for his trip to the States. Not real sure where is going but we shall see how his partner finds the trip as it will be her first time to the States.
I can't wait to get back. It's a year away and after speaking to my aunt in Minnesota I wish I could be there now as my cousin is due to have her first baby. My cousin is in Alaska but the family are planning to head up and I won't be able to get there due to work. I guess emails and phone calls will have to do.

Your sandals sound great. I hope that you manage to find the perfect dress to go with it. If you can't find a dress locally, then I can definitely recommend Ebay. I had two dresses made in Shanghai, China which I bought via Ebay. I am absolutely delighted with both dresses. I chose the design from a large selection that they had on Ebay and then chose the colour. The quality is amazing and I got exactly what I wanted. Some of my colleagues had a look at the most recent dress and quite a few took the seller's details.

I will post a photo of the dress after the cruise.

Looks like you will have a busy year ahead of yourself. How much vacation do kids in Australia get? Here they get 6 or 7 weeks over the summer, 2 weeks over Christmas, two weeks over Easter and a week each in October, February and May. This applies for state schools. Private schools get more than this. The only thing I miss about teaching is the nice long vacations. Now I get 24 days of vacation time a year, which will go up to 25 days next year.

Singapore is one of the places that I really like to visit. Graham lived there for a while as a child. His dad was in the army. He has not been back since he moved back to England when he was about 8 or 9.

My sister had a baby in May and so far I have just seen photos. As they live in Germany and I live in the UK, I would need leave to go and see them. With all the cruises I have booked and planned, my niece will probably have started school before I get to see her. My cousin in Germany is getting married next weekend, but it was all a bit last minute. I had already arranged to go on a Girlie weekend with some of the people from the UK Community Board months ago. So needless to say, I am not going to the wedding.

School holidays are Dec to end of Jan (6 or 7weeks depending on what school you go to), 2 weeks for Easter, Maddie gets 3 weeks in June/July as she goes to a private school and then 2 weeks end of September/beginning October.

Dave and I have been to Singapore for our honeymoon. Maddie was 18 months old and we left her with my sister in law. We always said we would take the girls back as we really enjoyed it.

Eventually I will get them to Alaska where I was born and they will be able to meet my aunts and uncles. I may even meet cousins who weren't even thought of when mum decided she had enough of Alaska and needed to come home to her family.

Army life is fun! Dave was full time Army when we discovered we were having Madalyn. He left when she was 5 months old but has stayed in reserves and is now a major. Dad was in the US navy so you can imagine what goes on when they get together.

Hope everyone is well.

I have been pretty busy with work and now Maddie has decided to take up soccer. As Hannah has 6 months before she starts school she is really starting to test us. She come to work with me and as I run the centre, She thinks she can too. The joys of having a child who has no fear!

We are working on the details for this trip and now that Disney have released next years prices there seems to be a disturbance in the force. Not sure what the in laws thought but DH and I have been telling them we are planning to stay at The Grand Californian and they can do as they feel free. We shall see!!

Hi Michelle,
My MIL has had to pull out of our trip due to health reasons. We have therefore had a room change to make it a little cheaper for us. Not sure yet what room but it will be either 7100 or 7102. I will confirm by the end of the week as the travel agent is hopefully going to let my DH know.
I have had a busy few weeks and this has been the first chance to get back on the boards. Everyone has been busy by th look of things.
I took the girls to my dad's new house on the weekend. Oh the beach was great..shame the water was still on the cool side. Spring arrives soon and I know where my girls will want to be spending their weekends. Hope my dad can handle the invasion!

I am waiting for them to go back to school before I paint it....I need ALONE time to do that!! Everyone always wants to help and I don't need the help...

Well off to the craft store, and blockbuster--they have BOGO previously used DS games and I have 2 on hold that I will get both for $10...xmas presents...=)) Also movies are 5 for $20. I figure used or not they will work the same.

WOW!!! Under 400 days and now the countdown begins!! How exciting! Well our trip is starting to come together and I have been snowed under at work so my FE gifts have been stopped for the moment. I am getting ready for Hannah's 5th birthday and she has decided it will be Mickey themed. I have to send out the birthday invites and then plan the cake. Oh boy!
I guess the countdown is on for us now because that is how Hannah knows about this trip....it relates to he birthday.

Well here everything is going ok. This weekend I worked doubles and about killed ,yself...not sure how I functioned. Today went to ortho for my knee, need PT to get it feeling better. Also went for Iron IV infusion cause I am anemic and have to go daily for 3 days, so hoping I will be feeling alive in the next few days...my iron is extremely low so I feel tired all the time! Good golly where is everyone? this week has been rough. Found a problem in our house that needs attention fast & I was worried I would have to cancel the cruise to use that money. Well luckily for me Disney said I can gwet a partial refund which will leave my deposit there to secure my reservation. I have been sending some money to pay it down but I may need it for the house! So everyone pray for me that it doesn't cost much to fix!
Also asked if the DCL CM had any info on the 2012 dates & she said she wouldn't expect to see anything till 2011. Not sure if she was telling the truth or what. I guess I can't book till onboard so no hurry, I just am excited to think about where we would like to go! Well I have been waiting in the pick up line at school & things are about to get moving so I hope you all are out there somewhere! Maybe Corinna will have info when she returns from TA! Ttfn

Just checking in! I must say my life has been hetic and very busy lately. Taylor started Kindergarden! We are doing football and cheerleading. I think I should have thought about that decision a little more. I don't think I realized just how much time I was committing. Then there's Cub Scouts and working full time. I am not sure how people get everything done. Oh and we are headed to Disney World soon. This is the most unplanned I have every been! I am stressing just thinking about it. And I had the bright idea to get hardwood floors installed while we were gone.

I mean what better time to tear your house apart. Again, not sure I really thought about that one.

As we have started talking more about Disney, my kids have really started talking about doing this cruise. They are very excited.

So, Disney Veterns, give me the run down and what all I need to have packed and need to do before heading to disney. Think last minute trip --- not I have all the time in the world to plan and prepare.

Becky--- I too would love a smaller group then my last cruise but I hope somemore people join. I have met everyone already besides you and I would like at least 10 more families to join us! We had like 30-40 staterooms last yr and that was nice.
Although my favorite families from that cruise are joining us on this one. We are missing a few good families that I wish were joining us.

I had to call Disney today and get some of my money back...I left the deposit to hold this cruise but I needed some money back cause we had a house issue and need it fixed. DH said cancel cruise and I said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OO
I don't wanna lose my OBC or the 10% savings. So I will just have to replenish the refunded money after income taxes are filed. I can't wait to go on this cruise....I miss it!! I am back from our Transatlantic Cruise and we had a wonderful time. In the end we could not resist and booked the Panama Canal Crossing for January. So at least I have that to look forward to as well. We will fly to Orlando the day before we get on the Wonder and will stay for one night at a DVC resort. We had originally planned to stay at a hotel near the airport, but it seems silly to pay for a hotel if we have plenty of points to use.

As far as 2012 dates, we were told on the ship that they should be out within a month. I can't wait to see what they will offer in 2012.

The jewellery making workshops were a great success and I would be happy to organize something for this cruise if there is any interest.

I also was part of the team that organized a scavenger hunt for the WBTA and would be happy to organize one for our cruise. It consisted of 30 questions and around 15 tasks where you either had to bring back stuff or take photos of various things. Again, if there is interest, I am happy to organize this for our group. I can easily put the questions together on the Panama Canal Cruise as I will have plenty of sea days.

Not much activity has been happening but I am guilty too. I have had a change of jobs and been flat out with a few issues that arose over the last job I had. I am so sorry about the loss of your fur baby. A Beagle sounds like fun. One of the people on the Transatlantic has two Beagles and she kept us entertained with stories of what the beagles have been up to. They are so naughty.

We won’t be able to do anything about the hotel until late February for the pre-cruise stay and early to mid March for the post-cruise stay. We are DVC members and hoping to use our points at Grand Californian Villas. Unfortunately as we don’t own there, we will have to wait until 7 months prior to the check in date. Once I have the hotel sorted, I will book air. I am also quietly hoping that we might be asked to volunteer to go on a later flight when we come back from the Panama Canal cruise. This has happened quite a lot when we have been to Los Angeles before. Getting a free return ticket would be very sweet indeed. If this does not happen, I might decide to fly standby again.

Yay! We have another traveler going with us but they have posted over on Cruise Critic and I dont know if you can tell them about the Dis over there. :confused3

This is a nice video, but I really dislike the new horn. For me, When You Wish Upon A Star sums up was Disney means to me. However, I read some press releases that mentioned that the horn will be able to play the first and second line of When You Wish Upon A Star. So all might not be lost.

Happy Halloween to you all!:stir:
Do you know if there will be any trick or treating on the cruise or will it be to early?

Last year when we were on the October 3rd Western Caribbean Cruise, they did Trick and Treating on the Sunday. There were also other events that day like a costume competition and the characters were wearing their Halloween costumes. I am hoping that this will happen again. We won’t be able to do it on a Sunday as this will be taken up with the safety trill and the sail away party, but I suppose it could easily be done on one of the sea days.

Woohoo 30 days and I am at my 2nd Happiest Place on Earth....MK DCL being the 1st!

I hope that you will have a wonderful time. I will think of you when you are there.

I am keeping busy here as well. I had three days off over the weekend and on Monday we went to see the Tutankhamun exhibition that opened in Manchester just over a week ago. Graham was a bit reluctant about this when I suggested this, but he was just as fascinated by it all as I was. We had a wonderful time and spent about 3 hours in the exhibition. The museum that the exhibition was shown in is right next to one of the big shopping malls so we spent some time afterwards going window-shopping and then had a lovely meal.

I have some issues with the CD I got on the Transatlantic. Now that I have downloaded all the photos from my camera and from the CD, I noticed that I am missing at least 50 photos. Essentially none of the photos that were taken after September 27th made it onto the CD. As I was not feeling too well on the debarkation morning, I just cast a cursory glance over the sheet with the thumbnails and did not notice anything that was missing. I have now emailed them with a detailed description of the missing photos. They emailed me back today asking for our full names, cabin number and reservation number and said they would forward this to the photo manager on the Magic to see if the photos can be recovered. I just hope that this can be sorted out.

I had a bit of a surprise when I got to work yesterday that first had me absolutely delighted, but soon turned sour. I might have mentioned before that I have applied for a promotion in Dubai. I have been anxiously waiting for an update for the past two weeks. Yesterday I had an email saying that I have been shortlisted for a written assessment in Dubai. I was very happy with this, until I saw the date. I was supposed to be in Dubai for this this morning. There is no chance I could have got there on such short notice. Even if I had picked up the email on Monday, when it had been sent, it would have been too late to get all the arrangements made. I have now emailed them back to ask if I can do the assessment here in Manchester or if I could come to Dubai to do it at a later date, but so far no reply. I just have to keep my fingers crossed that something can be sorted out.

I did however have one lovely surprise yesterday. I had ordered a new evening gown for semi-formal night. This was coming from China again and it normally takes a month to produce and then another week to 10 days for it to arrive. I had ordered this on October 19th and it already arrived today. It is royal blue satin with black lace overlay and a bit of a train. It looks really stunning. I think I might well have the same dress made in ivory with ivory lace for our vow renewal.

Here are some photos of my new pride and joy. I tried on my new dress today and it is just perfect. I can't wait to wear it. These are photos from the seller's Ebay shop, which show the detail:

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/dolphingirl_album/DISBoards/226.jpg

Here are some photos of my actual dress:

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/dolphingirl_album/DISBoards/SDC11484.jpg

I think this works really well with the blue.

I also had a pleasant surprise at work today. I got in and our manager said to me that he needed some help. He said that he needed to find where the Employee of the Month for October is sitting. I asked him who he was looking for and then told me that it was me. I replied that I did not think so, but he reassured me that it really was me. I was presented with a framed certificate and a bottle of champagne. I also will have exclusive use of a dedicated parking space at the front of the building for the month of November. I don’t drive myself, but I car share with one of my colleagues and he is quite happy about this.

No, I did not get the message. That is great that they both like the same dress. I love this dress, too. This does make things easier. As for the pink for Sydney, does she prefer a hot pink or more of a baby pink? I really need to do another update on my Planning Journal.

I love the photos of us that you have posted on the website.

One of my Facebook friends posted a link to a great video of the float out of the Dream (a different one than the one posted before):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVeUCiKVToQ

I also managed to find a great photo gallery of the Dream:

I am almost starting to wish that we had a cruise booked on the Dream.

me too Corinna , but I must stay on the MR cause I am cruising with some amazing people and Robin too......:rotfl2::lmao: You know I love ya Robin....;)

As for the color of the dresses---Corinna-- it's your special day so I say you pick the shades....but if I were to give my opinion...I would say more hot pink or at least not pale pink cause with her white-blonde hair and fair skin, the light pink would just make her sick looking.

Well, anyone have any fab news? Sydney started playing the clarinet...oh bring on the ear plugs:rotfl: I have alot of my Xmas shopping done...I mean I will still go out black friday for some fun deals but Syd wanted a ipod touch and I got that already....Nelia wanted the Furreals little yorkie--got it...and most things they wanted have been bought...kinda nice to know I won't have any credit card bills after xmas

Hot pink is great. It was the colour on the sample dress that caught my eye. It will also work well with the purple. I will see if I can get flowers in the same shades. That would look gorgeous together.

For the rest of you, here are the dresses that Michelle, Sydney, Nelia and I have chosen for the girls to wear for my vow renewal. Sydney will get it in the colour as on the photos and Nelia in purple.

I have not even started to think about Christmas. Fortunately I do not have many people to buy for.

Good luck to Sydney with learning the clarinet. Is this the first instrument she is learning to play?

I am generally catching up today. I all caught up with my PMs and threads. I am heading for the gym now, but when I come back, I will update my vow renewal planning journal. I have also two partial installments for my trip report and I am hoping that I will get at least one of them finished and posted today.

Corinna---- yes this is her first instrument. They get the opportunity to play something in 5th grade; then in 6th,7th, & 8th grade they either have to do band, or choir. Well Sydney picked band. It was ok to me just had to shop for one online cause getting a new one and paying $1500.00:eek: was not gonna work. So I found one on craigslist for $200...much better!:)

I love the dress....the girls have been talking about it every now and again. They are excited! :cheer2: But I have a question....how are u thinking u want their hair? Normally I get their hair cut before school begins but I was thinking that if you would like it in an updo, I would wait till we return from the cruise...I can either updo or let them get it corn-rolled with beads to match(I will bring some in case they don't have the right colors) and then updo the back.....it's all up to you,;) I don't care. Are you getting yours corn-rolled for the renewal? I know you like that. Wish I could pull that off..I love it!

And I am waiting patiently:rotfl:(ok I know not me) for your updates on your pages!!

Today-- I went to Target and they had Halloween for 75% off, so I got the little kids some disney things....I actually have enough for the kids 6 and under. I have my ideas for the adults but dang the boys over 7..that is a hard one.....Anyone with boys..CAROL,KIM, MINDI?? Would they like a keychain in their fav team for their bookbag or oh shoot those boys just confuse me...:lmao:
HELP!:scared1:

That is a great opportunity for her. I hope that she enjoys learning an instrument. Well done on finding a bargain online.

I have not really given the hair thing a thought and I am truly fine with whatever you and the girls decide on. I won't have cornrows done for the vow renewal as this would not work with the tiara and the ribbon veil, but that does not mean that the girls can't have cornrows. I will make a hair appointment at the salon for myself for some pampering.

Dear Michelle, patience is definitely not one of your virtues, but I won't hold this against you. Anyway, the Vow Renewal Planning Journal has been updated with a monster update and there will be another installment of the trip report once I had my dinner.

I know what you mean about buying for boys. I always struggle with this.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your condolences about the cat. She was a great pet.
Corrina love the dress! I am waiting for our Singapore trip to find one and now that I am on a exercise kick and really toning up I think it will be the perfect chance to spend some money on me.

The girls will be getting a beagle and a cat at this stage for Christmas. I have 3 nieces and 2 nephews to buy for at Christmas. One girl and one boy are done, they are receiving Disney pins, lanyards and magnets for their trip with us. The older two girls will get a voucher of some kind...tweens!!! and then my nephew...stuck for ideas.

Maddie finishes school in 4 weeks and she is now starting to show signs of end of year exhaustion. Oh yeah 8 weeks of Christmas holidays to entertain her.

Hannahis preparing for school. She tried on her uniform on Saturday (will post when actual uniform arrives). She looks so little.

Well I better get back to my training. Yoga and running this is my time out and I feel amazing!!

Take care and talk to you later

ok Corinna you got my number.....I am slightly impatient. Actually my problem is I am an organizational freak which cause my a little impatience cause I want everything just so. I believe you are a bit like that as well....;)
Plus the excitement of Disney just makes me nuts. All of you would think I was nuts..I leave in like about 20 days and I have everything in a tote ready to pack. Mostly cause I wanna save money on food so I am trying to pack breakfast stuff...some to go mac-N-cheese & pb&j to make lunches and then go out for dinners. I wanna go as cheap as I can since christmas is right here screaming in my face:scared1:

I don't think I have done too bad: MVMCP- $200 for 4
ASMovies-$340(for 4 nts,5 days)
Hollywood studios- FREE( give a day get a day ticket)
Airfare(roundtrip for 4)-$398
Food- hoping for $300( TBD)

Not to shabby if I say so myself!!! Ok now it looks like my deposit for a cruise....LOL I look at it and think I could have went on the Wonder 3/4 day for that...hmmm I will think of that next time!!

Off to take the kids to school

Ok so I found this on another thread. Make what you want from it! Not sure if this will be another option to the pager, however that doesn't seem logical. I mean I have 2 kids so if each kid got one then I would have to rent one for me and Del. I am thinking this maybe in addition to the pagers.....It would be nice so I don't have to get walkie's since I will give Sydney a little more freedom this time, mostly just on sea days. anyhow thought I would post this even though I feel like I am continually talking to myself!!

Disney Cruise Line to launch Wave Phone service in December

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure if this has been posted yet - still don't quite understand the search option. This was posted on another forum today.

Disney will offer guests the use of "Portable Wave Phones" on board the ships of the Disney Cruise Line starting in December (December 16th on the Disney Wonder; December 18th on the Disney Magic.) The portable phones can send and receive phone calls and text messages from other Wave phones when used on board the ship or on Castaway Cay. The phones do not work off the ship, and are it doesn't sound like they can work with other carriers - you can use the device to call other Wave Phones on Disney's network, but not to call home.

Each stateroom will come equipped with two of the phones; concierge staterooms come with four phones. There is currently no charge to use the service, but you can rent additional units for $3.50 per unit per day if you need more than come with your room. There is a $250 charge per unit if they are lost / stolen / damaged, so that's something to consider before handing them to your pool-bound kids.

Disney is planning to use these phones to replace the pager system currently used by the Youth Activities department, which means that one parent/guardian must carry the unit at all times. If you don't have kids in Youth Programming and you don't want to use the phones, you can turn them in and Disney will turn off the service for your stateroom for the cruise.

Hey there,
How is everyone? We are off to Singapore in two days and then the silly season starts. Our new addition arrives Christmas Eve and the girls can't wait to get Jetta the beagle home. I will have to post some pictures after our trip.

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas. I know I'm not!! Maddie has done really well at school this year and I am happy to say she got mostly "A"s. Yeah ok she's only in grade 2 but hey it's the start of her learning and she is keen to teach Hannah the ins and outs. Hannah had uniform fittings for next year. My baby is off to big school in January and I will return to work without my children hanging off me...does that mean time to myself? Not Likely!

Hope to talk to you soon

I had first heard about this on our Western Caribbean cruise last year. I had been told that the Wonder would get them during last year's dry dock, but then I never heard of this again and assumed they had been scrapped.

Have a wonderful time at Disney. I will miss chatting to you on Facebook. Still, I will want to hear all about your trip when you are back.

I had an interesting time of late. I applied for a job in Dubai, went for the interview, was offered the job - and turned it down. When all was said and done, it was simply not right for me.

With this out of the way, I started to concentrate on this cruise and on my vow renewal. I ordered my dress now and can't wait to get it. I also started to put stuff for the cruise away in a box.

Now that it is December, the holiday season has really started. We will have our company Christmas Ball on December 10th and then a Christmas dinner for team leaders and managers a week after that. I am also trying to organize a team night out for my team at the local Christmas market.

I have not even started with my Christmas shopping, but I really only have Graham to buy for and I have some ideas. I have a couple of days off midweek the week before Christmas and I will get my Christmas shopping done then.

Michelle, I read your trip report. For some reason it is in the completed trip report section and I cannot reply. I had no realized that you ended up staying at WDW for four nights. The last time we spoke about this, you were still thinking in terms of 2 nights WDW and 2 nights Tampa.

It was fantastic that the girls managed to visit the cockpit. I finally got to do this two weeks ago when I was able to tour one of our A380s.

It was a shame so that not only did you not get to stay at Pop, but then were moved again.

Did they have the Disney parks Dooney and Burke wristlets at the airport? I am trying to get my hands on a green wristlet for my Secret Mickey. I am not sure if they will have them at Animal Kingdom Lodge and I won't have time to get to Downtown Disney, but should have some time at the airport before getting on the DCL shuttle on January 6th.

I have today and tomorrow off and will finally get around to doing my Christmas shopping. I am going to get Graham as waterproof camera and hopefully a new carry on. I have to buy a couple of little things for some friends, but that should not be too difficult.

I have finally got my magnets for my Panama Cana; cruise finished. The next project is the Fish Extender gifts, but I am still waiting on a few components for this one. Everything should be here by Christmas and I am going to snuggle up, watching some old films and work on them then.

I also have 4 days off around New Year. It is kind of ironic, I am back at work on January 4th and then I am on vacation from January 5th. I find it hard to believe that in 3 weeks, I will be on a plane heading for Florida and will be on the Wonder a day after that.

Anyway, traditionally I have always cooked us a 5 course meal on New Year's Eve. I have not done this since we lived in Manchester as I had to work most years and last year we were in Dubai for Christmas and New Year. I have decided to do it again this year, but with a twist. I am hoping to do with dishes that are served on the ship. Having said that, I might have to cheat for the soup course. I am so tempted to try making the Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier, but hey, it is Disney after all. I also located a website that sells Rosa Regale so we will toast in the new year with this.

Yes, the Panama Canal Cruise ends in San Petro. As we arrive there at 9:30 AM and our flight does not leave until 6:30 PM, I am not in a great deal of rush so I should have time for some research.

I have my Christmas shopping pretty much sorted out. I actually only bought one item locally and the rest online. I have to wrap the gift that I already got. This was one of the jobs that I was hoping to do today, but playing Epic Mickey proved to be too tempting.

I am a little worried about one of the gifts I ordered online. I got Graham a waterproof digital camera as we are going to do quite a few water-based activities on the Panama Canal Cruise. The estimated delivery date is December 24th. Talk about cutting it close. I had bought a bundle of the camera and a memory card. I thought my luck was in when I had a dispatch notice from Amazon yesterday. However, it was just the memory card. The camera will be dispatched separately.

I think I have my Fish Extender gifts pretty much sorted out. I have an idea for a cabin gift and for gifts for the ladies and girls. It is just the boys and gentlemen that are giving me a bit of a headache at the moment. I am sure I will come up with something in due course.

I found some CHEAP air $700 r/t for the 4 of us!! Hoping it's still there after the 1st of the yr , then I will book it. We have booked the Doubletree at the port for our stay at least the nt before. It seems like a nice hotel and they have complimentary shuttle to the port. Doesn't seem like there are any rental car companies that will shuttle. It seems since I think there will be 8 of us going that I can get a super shuttle by ourselves for $80...not bad. Just have to decide what I am gonna do out there!!

Anyone else find out any LA info???

Ok So I think we have decided to stay Friday night at DL (or a hotel around there). We think we will do DL on Sat, hopefully their version of MNSSHP. Just trying to find a good deal on a room. Would love to stay at DL but a little pricey for what I wanna spend. Thought about using priceline but that scares me too...LOL Any advice or thoughts?

Graham has not been on the DIS in about 18 months so I am safe to post what I please. For him it is just to fast moving. He tends to hang out on a UK based Florida forum. I am also a member there, but I tend to spend more time on here.

Hopefully a few of us will meet up at DL on that Saturday. We will hopefuly arrive in California on Thursday and I am planning to spend Friday and Saturday at Disneyland also we might need to hit the Brea Mall on the Friday instead.

Michelle, what is your budget for the hotel? We have stayed near Disneyland three times now and have a fair idea of the lay of the land.

I had an interesting day at work yesterday. A lot of the UK airports are closed because of snow. We have aircrafts and customers bound for the UK stranded all over Europe. After 6 PM I was the only supervisor on duty yesterday. Today I will be on my own after 3:30 PM and we were also scheduled to get a system upgrade this morning. I am not looking forward to work today.

On a more positive note, I got a gorgeous idea for another Fish Extender gift the other day. I ordered some of the supplies already. You guys will be so spoiled.

I hope we can meet up at Disneyland , that would be fun! Andrea and I had fun meeting at MK last yr before the cruise and saw Lisa there too!

As for hotel...well that kinda depends. My sister in law said they are going with for sure so right now I am looking for either a good deal on a suite or if I can get 2 standard rms connecting or next to each other. So I have 8 people which can be split into 2 groups of 4 if need be. I would prefer something close so we don't have to take the ART back & forth, ya know something just a few blocks to walk(thinking long walk late at night with tired kids)

Alright off to try and update my trip report before I forget!!:thumbsup2

caty 9c--8 on deck 2
caty 9b--1 on deck 2
caty 9a--5 on deck 7
3 on deck 6

Verandah rms
caty 6a---only a guaranteed rm
caty 5c-- 8 on deck 6
caty 5b-- 8 on deck 6
caty 5a--8 on deck 7

caty 4e-- 3 on deck 8

I looked around a bit. We have stayed at the Radisson Maingate before, which is now the Red Lion Inn. We liked this hotel. You can walk from there to Disneyland in about 15 minutes and they are also on the ART if you are tired at the end of the day. They only have rooms that sleep up to 4. They have a promotion at the moment that includes free breakfast, free parking and unlimited free transportation to Disneyland for $109.95 per room per night.

I found only one hotel that would sleep 8 and that is Homewood Suites Anaheim - Main Gate Area, which is about 1 mile from Disneyland and there is no indication that there is any transport to Disneyland. This would be $269 for a two bedroom suite and again includes breakfast as well as a complimentary Welcome Home reception serving a light meal with beverages, beer and wine.

The best deal that I have found is Castle Inn and Suites, which is across the street from the main entrance to Disneyland. Again, you would need two rooms and they are $88 per room per night (or $78 if you are AAA members).

The other option for large accommodations is the Grand Californian Villas. A two bedroom villa will sleep up to 9 and for the night in question would cost 56 points. It might just pay you to check out the DVC Rent and Trade board to check what people are renting out their points for. Owners at GCV can make reservations now.

I hope everyone has had a great time with their families over the Christmas period. I know I have. We have been little busy since coming back from Singapore and I have been busy at work. Hopefully today I can get some photos of Jetta (beagle) and Oscar (kitten) put up. I have been trying to stop the dog from killing the cat and the cat from attacking the kids.

I had to take down the tree because Jetta kept chasing Oscar straight up it. Thank goodness none of my Disney decorations broke until hubby tried to help put them away.

Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday,

Merry Christmas!!!

So I may be popping in a little more frequently for the next few weeks because I booked a 3 day cruise on the DREAM for Marty for Christmas. We go in Feb and aren't taking the kids. I have mixed feelings about not taking the kids but we needed to check out the dream to be sure they would have fun on it before I booked it for everyone! LOL. Well, that's my story and I am sticking to it.

Mindi

Mindi, I am glad to see you around. I hope you will have a wonderful time on the Dream. I can't wait to hear all about it.

We had a wonderful Christmas. It was wonderful to have two days where it was just Graham and me, nothing to do other than what I wanted to and nowhere to go. I finished all my Fish Extender gifts for our next cruise and only just could stop myself ordering stuff for the Fish Extender gifts for our cruise. Now that I know what I am going to do, I just want to get started. I love the ideas that I came up with.

I made samples for two out of the three jewellery workshops that I will be running on the Panama Canal Cruise:

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/dolphingirl_album/Panama%20Canal%20Cruise/P1000088.jpg

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/dolphingirl_album/Panama%20Canal%20Cruise/P1000077.jpg

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/dolphingirl_album/Panama%20Canal%20Cruise/P1000076.jpg

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/dolphingirl_album/Panama%20Canal%20Cruise/P1000071.jpg

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/dolphingirl_album/Panama%20Canal%20Cruise/P1000090.jpg

I particularly love the bracelet. I thought this up for the kid's workshop. It is so simply, yet so effective. I wore the sample one to work today.

I have to remember to take a photo of the Fish Extender gift.

By the way, are people here interested in a Scavenger Hunt for our cruise? I should have plenty of time while I am on the Wonder to prepare this if there is interest. I can't believe that provided the weather cooperates, I will be on the Wonder in 10 days.

My dress for the vow renewal has arrived just before Christmas. Unfortunately Graham has been around ever since it arrived so I had no chance yet to try it on or to take photos, but it does look gorgeous. I will post photos when I come back from the cruise.

I am working on my trip report from the Transatlantic cruise at the moment. I kind of had lost interest in this for a while with everything else going on in my life. I have posted three days worth of trip report since yesterday. I will post the next installment tomorrow when I come back from work. I am determined to have this finished by the time I leave for the Panama Canal cruise.

Corinna~I just love the things you have made for your workshop! I think they are really pretty and I wouldnt mind finding one of the pulls in my FE;)
I would also be interested in a scavenger hunt. Is this an adult thing only or can kids participate? I know Gabi and Sophie would love to do it.

Well I couldn't part with $1000+ to go for 3 days:guilty: i felt bad leaving the girls. I am hoping that Del and I can take a RCCL together that is a cheap getaway! So we are all counting on you to check out the Dream...I won't get on the Dream but sure the Fantasy is gonna be the same!

Corinna-- Love your trip report. As for the hotels at DL... I am toying with Castle Inn & suites or ......shoot I forget the other one.:scratchin Anyhow, My big problem is I don't wanna pay for 3 shuttle rides. I can't wait to see your dress. I am trying to figure out a nice piece of jewelry I can make the girls to match their dresses. Just curious, after they are made are you planning on having them shipped to me or bringing them onboard? Can't wait till it's time to give you measurements cause that means it's time for the cruise:yay:

Becky--glad you had a great time on your vacaion. Can't wait to see pictures of ur little beagle!

We had a great Christmas here. The girls got LOADS of Aeropostle clothes--which made them happy:banana: I wrapped Syd's ipod touch:music: in 3 different boxes and made her wait for it last. She thought she wasn't getting it and broke out in tears..Omg puberty has hit with full emotional break-down:scared1: But when she received it she realized there was nothing to be upset about. The girls also got Just Dance 2. boy is that fun and a workout. I rocked it like dynomite!!!! :dancer:

Would you try to do Palo's or Remy's on a 3 day cruise on Dream or would you just enjoy the 3 main dining rooms and see what each of them have to offer since it's all new to you.

I can't get reservations since we booked so late but could always try when we get on board.

my opinion on this Mindi is that it's a whole new world to check out and without having been in those restaurants u have no idea what you would be ok missing...so my vote is skip the adult restaurants for now. Save that for when u have the kids and need to escape them hahahaha

As to the zip pulls, I ordered a whole bunch of the Cinderella carriage charms so I might just have to add the Princess zip pulls to my Fish Extender gifts. They are so quick and easy to make, but look stunning.

I have not figured out how we are going to sort out the girls' dresses. There are three options: They can be shipped directly to your address. They will be shipped here and I send them to you. They will be shipped here and I will pack them. I kind of like the idea that the girls can try them on ahead of time. We sort this all out nearer the time.

As all the dining rooms will be new (with Animator's Palate heavily re-imagineered), I would just stick to the main dining rooms on a 3 night cruise.

Well, I better check in on the Panama Canal Cruise Meet Thread, post the next installment of the trip report and then head to bed. I have a busy day ahead of me tomorrow. 3 more working days to go.

I think sending them here is the best option...that way if anything is off I can take them to Syd's seamster that handles her competition costumes.

Can you let me see what kinda jewelry your wearing---or are you having your designer artist do it? Just wanted to know if it has beads...crystals , is silver, etc. Trying to invision something for the girls.

I love the Toad thing...where did you find it? surprised you did..kinda rare. Also love the pendent, very nice!!! Your secret mickey's are lucky!!!

Yes, I have Kythrynne on the job for the jewellery. She is now on maternity leave with her due date being January 4th, but she should be back around March or April. I have a subscription package where I get a surprise package once a month and we have pooled the months to take care of her maternity leave and she has made some pieces for the vow renewal and sent it to the ship. I don't know exactly what to expect, but we were talking in terms of bracelet, earrings and hairslide. Once she is back from maternity leave, I will then commission the matching necklace and tiara from her. I will post of the first pieces when I get back from the cruise. We have discussed silver wire, clear crystals and white pearls, but I left it quite open. She just knows me so well and perfectly senses what would be right.

I found the Mr Toad charm on Ebay. He is actually Sterling Silver. I ordered a second one and was going to attach a bail and bought a chain to go with it, but I had a spare clip on cellphone strap and he was turned into a cellphone charm. I will put the pendant on the chain.

Ok no I am not sure! Sorry I couldn't help!

Anyone else plan on going to Disneyland while out there? I think we will go either Friday or Sat. Would like to do the special event...I like less lines and I am hoping they will offer it one of those days. I hate waiting till May to find out!! Sydney informed me she wants to hit hollywood as well...she's hoping to see someone and the hollywood sign. :lovestruc So I am looking at flying in Weds or thurs and maybe staying at a DL area hotel from then till sat...renting a car to drive everywhere and then heading to the port on Sat. , returning the car back to LAX and shuttling over DH to hotel. Any ideas...? I know I am the planner in this bunch...anyone even thinking out there?

Mindibellcm

I am thinking but just not enough probably! I haven't even begun to look at port activities. I will start searching that after March. Gotta get Spring Break planned first.

As of now, we would like to fly in on Friday night after school but we will see how the flights are. We will probably priceline rooms. That is what we did last time we were out there and we did well. One was in walking distance to Disneyland so that was sweet. We will spend all day Saturday at Disneyland. Not sure if we will park hop or not. Probably depends on the crowds.

Sunday to the ship.

Fly home Sunday evening. That is our plan for now but will be tweaked as I go I am sure.

I asked about chaning names because I just realized Marty and I will be Gold castaway members after our little getaway in Feb. So I wanted to put one of us in each cabin!

ok I am getting so excited that in 26 hrs we can say we are cruising this yr!!! I really don't know why I am so excited right now since we have 9 months and 2 days. I just can't help myself. I got this bright idea for a family gift...ok so I already made one family gift for my Dreamers and 10 others that appear and then I made the thing I made for the Dreamers last cruise for anyone over 20 staterooms but I got this other idea and can't wait till my tool arrives to try out my idea. If it works I will make 40 of them and then if I don't use them all I can save for the next cruise! I have an idea for the girls over 7...and goodie bags for the little girls. and boys. It's those dang boys over 7 that are hard....why can't they be easy like the girls...silly bands, nail polish, lip gloss, etc.

I guess I should go to bed and hope I can fall asleep. 3 out of 4 of us are sick and coughing all night. Oh the joys!!! Nighty night!

Well back up at 3am...didn't post then cause I wasn't sure how much I would be making sense.:rotfl: I am so tired of being sick:sick: Ok so I am thinking about booking my air in a week or so. Do you guys think I should wait or go for it. The prices are Weds/Fri(Sept 28th/30th) for $69 and Oct 9th for $99.
Now We definately need to fly home the 9th cause all the flights on Spirit are red eyes, so the girls may miss monday since it gets home at 6am and we have a 2 hrs drive home. If they sleep well on the airplane then I may send them. Who knows. So my decision day is weds/thurs /fri to fly out. thurs is $99 and the other 2 days are $69. We want to do DL one day and we wanna go to see the Hollywood sign since we don't plan on hitting LA again for years!!! So what do you guys think???? I don't think I will find better air , I mean that's like $820 r/t for all 4 of us. Plus luggage of course. I know in Aug this yr they ran air for October for $57 each way. that will only save me like under $100. Not sure that is good to wait for and risk it being a worse deal with gas going up and all! Ok I am done babbling....:bitelip:

Off to get my:coffee: Talk to you all later!!

Does anyone know if I can change the names on our reservation for this cruise without being charged?

I think up to 75 days out, you can essentially change or cancel anything you would like without any penalty

Mindi--Are you changing them to Del and Michelle???:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

We are planning to fly in on the Thursday and spend Friday and Saturday at Disneyland (unless Graham realizes that he needs to do some last minute shopping) and then hopefully get DCL transfers on Sunday morning. After the cruise we will stay in California for at least another week.

I here you about boys. This is what I am always struggling with. I have the cabin gifts and the gifts for the ladies and girls all planned, but have no idea for the men and boys.

I hope that you all feel better soon.

In my experience of working for an airline, if you see a price that you like, grab it. Yes, sometimes there are sales closer to the departure date, but prices are based on availability and normally the earlier you book, the more likely you are to get a good price.

yeah I think I am gonna bid on other hotels for where ever I wanna stay. can't decide what we are doing. DL, hollywood, etc. thinking of using priceline for car rental as well!

Corinna--went to craft store today. Can't wait to see your jewelry pieces for inspiration for the girls jewelry. Any suggestions...regualr pearls? umm silver? any ideas. Oh and I got another idea for FE's!!! Can't wait to see how easy it will hopefully be!!

I really don't know what to expect at the moment. I will post photos as soon as I am back from the cruise for the first pieces. That should still give you plenty of time to sort something out.

Mindi--I don't really need it in San Pedro but I need it the 2 other days we are there. We want to go to DL and Hollywood so I need one. It will probably be cheaper and more convientant to rent it and return it to the Enterprise at the port. Otherwise I have to rent at LAX, go to DL, Hollywood and return in back to LAX on that Sat--then pay for a shuttle back to the San Pedro hotel. That is still an option if it saves me lots. I know I can get a little car on priceline for $70 without bidding...maybe I can get get it for $40 and then a shuttle is $17 a piece or $84 for a private shuttle. So if I can get a 2 day rental from enterprise for less then $130 I will take it. They aren't on priceline and there is like a $40/50 returning to different location cost. Then I am looking at a Limo for the return to airport on Sunday. I have found a Limo bus. If anyone is interested and returning Sunday to the airport we could all chip in and rent the Limo-bus!!!

I hope to book my air in a week or so then I can really take care of booking everything else. I know some say to wait till closer to the date for priceline but I would rather know I have the room. I will probably book DL area hotel for fri nt for sure. Maybe book airport hotel for thurs nt since we will get in late....but all that is up in the air till we know what dates we are flying in. DL is a definate either Fri or Sat, depending when the Halloween special event is. I am not liking waiting till May for those release dates!

Karen--it's ok to announce your kids and grandkids....that is just being proud of them. I so understnad. I am proud of my babes and will be of my grandbabies(umm but not for years) I will add you to our FE list. Hope you checked out the web page!

If it existed, yet, I could. On the Magic they always had open hours at Ocean Quest in the morning before the tween programming started. I assume the same will be the case on the Wonder. However, from what I heard there are still conference and meeting rooms in that space at the moment and they use this to train the new cast members. I have read on the main cruise forum that the conversion to Edge will probably now not happen until the dry dock in September. So Sydney should be one of the first to try this out (I think there is one more cruise between dry dock and our cruise).

Other than that, you can be sure that I will take plenty of photos. We have backed a total of 4 cameras (my new Lumix, my compact camera for those just in case scenarios, Graham's waterproof camera and his video camera) so there should be no reason why we should be caught without a camera this time round. I can't wait to see the Outlook Cafe, which the Magic of course does not have.

So nice to see the Dream come into port!

Do any of you have girls that are into the American Girls? Taylor has just been taken with them. It's all she can talk about and she must dress like her doll for church. Today she got the new catalog in the mail and it has a 25th Birthday Cruise for American Girl Dolls! She is so excited and will not stop asking if we can go. It is on Celebrity over Thanksgiving week. I looked up the price it was over $4500 for our family of 5 in the least expensive cabin. I think it was an oceanview. I told her I didn't think we could swing California/Mickey cruise and also an American Girl cruise. She is so upset. For 2 of us it was $3200 for an inside cabin.

I went onto Celebrity and priced the same cruise without the American Girl stuff and it was around $1800 I think for 2 adult adults. It wouldn't let me price children.

Along with the crib, AG cases, clothes, well let's just say --dang I could cruise on what I have invested:confused: We plan on going to the AG store in LA when we are there. You should join us or at least go! It's in a shopping area called "The Grove"-- supposedly a "hot spot" for stars as well! Anyway the cruise sounds neat but PRICEY!!! I would rather book another Disney cruise then AG..:):) Maybe you can convince her to do something at the AG store while your there or a new doll---sounds cheaper to me:thumbsup2

Stop Mindi--contain yourself. :rotfl: You might actually be planning!
I have found airfare leaving Weds night, so the kids can still go to school weds and I can leave here and head to the airport about 3pm. Or I can leave thurs nt. Leaving Weds nt will give us another day in LA. I think leaving weds would be nice. I would like to do DL special event Friday nt, thurs---Hollywood, AG, etc and then relax on Sat. Ok I guess I convinced myself!!:thumbsup2 The girls both wanted to get ANOTHER American girl doll so I told them they could have them for their bday, but told them it would be more fun to wait to get them while we are in LA and they can pick her out themselves and she can go on her first cruise. So they have said they will wait. They will have so much fun picking her out!!!

I can't wait till the Jan 23rd MR Dis'er return with all the info. I have seen that the Edge(tween club) is up and running on the Wonder. Syd will like that!! It looks like Sat nt...me, Kim and Carol are at the Crown in San Pedro before the cruise...who else wants to join us for a party nt Sat???

Taylor isn't sure if she wants another doll or not. She just got Lanie or if she wants to get a few items for them. She does want the carrier for them. The special event is DL's version on MNSSHP. I think they call it Mickey's Halloween. Anyhow last yr the event didn't start till Oct 1st.(unlike WDW that starts mid-sept) and I am really not sure if it will be that Friday or not. Just guessing and hoping. Last yr it was on Fri's and Tues and that was it. I called DL and they said they don't know when it will start(of course) and that last yr tickets didn't go on sale till Aug. So I am hoping for it to be Fri or Sat and if not we will just do DL during the day. So I figure I will just stay at a hotel around DL on thurs and fri nts for sure and go to the port Crown on sat afternoon or something. 8 months 3 weeks:banana:

Is anyone worried about the violence in Mexico? Are you keeping an eye on it? Does it make your consider only doing Disney excursions?

Mindi-I initially was worried, but I figured if it was bad I would just stay on board The Wonder. I figure maybe Disney would change the intinerary to a safer area if it was that bad. If we do excursions they will either be through Disney or in a large group, where we have the numbers:rotfl:

This week , I have been investigating things to do with just Del and I. We haven't been on a weekend get-away or any get-away alone in 11 yrs!!! Sydney was our honeymoon baby so life ended...:confused3 Actually it got better with the kids but I thought it would be nice to get away for a change. I did check your cruise Mindi but Del and I can't do Disney without them. I am gonna have a hard enough time leaving them as it is(probably cry everyday) so I can't go to our happy family place cause I might as well just stay in my stateroom missing them. AND we don't want that cause Del would get the wrong idea:lmao: So I did look at Royal. Maybe a 3 nt'er. It's that dang airfare that gets ya though. I am waiting on AAA to see if they have anything better then I found myself. Otherwise we might just drive to Cleveland and go out to the meltin pot and stay the weekend up there(only 45 mins away) Away is away though. We'll see. I won't book anything till last minute cause I want to take our income taxes and pay this cruise, air, braces, some medical bills, etc before booking aything else.

So on another note. I wonder how Corinna is doing on the PC cruise. I am sure WONDERful.
Well after typing this , I ended up getting im'd from Corinna while she was in Mazallino(sp) and we chatted a few minutes while she was in an internet cafe. I can't wait till she gets back to gives us updates and pics!! Woohoo
One day I will take a cruise longer then 7 nts. Anyone else book anything else yet? I am waiting for Southwest to release Sept dates. Unfortunately Feb 8th they will release Sept but not Oct yet. I think we will end up on Spirit anyhow cause that is a non-stop flight and all the others have lay-over:eek: Well I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Hello All...

Looks like we will be booking this "surprise" cruise.

There will be 8 of us: me(Ann) DH Howard and 2 grandkids,
probably the DGS15 and DGS 10. The other room: DD and DSIL with DGD8 and DGD6.

We have done 14 Disney cruises only on Magic, I feel like Im cheating on her:rotfl2: DD and DSIL have done 1 Magic cruise... so the "surprise" is for the kids.... they think we're going to Disneyland for the week.:thumbsup2

BTW.... Hi Corrina and Graham!!!:wave2:

Welcome Ann!!!!:welcome: So excited we have someone else coming. Our thread seems awfully quiet with only 8 months to go. Most of us here are families who cruised together on our Western in 2009. and we got Becky:hug: I have a web page going. I will add your family to our list. Do you have room numbers? Also wondering if you wanted to be involved in our FE? I ask right away to try and keep the web page updated. If you do , could I please get everyone's names. Some of us make personalized things for FE's and like to get a start making. Also if you have any special occassions your celebrating, dining (main/late), any allergies for FE exchanging.
I see you did the transatlactic with Corinna. I am so jealous!:guilty: I tried convincing Corinna I should have gone on that with her but she insisted Graham had to go!:confused3
I think it's so awesome to do the surprise. I so wanted to do that for my kids but I just can't contain myself...LOL

Is anyone worried about the violence in Mexico? Are you keeping an eye on it? Does it make your consider only doing Disney excursions?

We have been to Puerto Vallarta and Cabo on the PC cruise and loved both. We did not feel in the slightest bit unsafe.

At PV we did a Disney excursion that we loved so much that we are planning to do this again.

At Cabo, we just wandered around in the port area. They have a craft market there, loads of bars and restaurants and a couple of shopping malls. Actually Cabo reminded me of Dubai and that included how safe I felt there. After Dubai, Cabo is probably the place of all the ones that I have visited where I felt the safest.

This time round we are probably doing excursions at Cabo. I had a look at the dolphin facility there and was wowed. I am now planning to do the Trainer for the Day there. Graham will probably do a snorkeling trip there. Unlike in PV, they advise people who are allergic to insect stings against this trip as they do get jellyfish there at times. So I could not go on this trip, but I am sure I will love the dolphins.

If we do get a second day at Cabo then I am seriously considering Discover Scuba, which is something I always wanted to do.

We're still working out the details on how we are doing to surprise the kids.

Do we want to do it at breakfast before we leave for the port?... or as we get dressed before breakfast? Or...???:yay:

I guess we have time for that part. Goal for the summer: teach the 2 youngest to snorkle in the pool !

com'on summer !

Ann, thanks for the info. I figure the adults will be you and Howard and then your DD and SIL and then I will just break up the kids for now and then when you figure it out closer to the cruise I can always change it to who you want where for FE delivery purposes. I haven't added you to the FE list yet cause I didn't know if you had room numbers. I am trying to make a seperate FE list that has people divided into decks and port or starboard side. thought this would make delivery easier.
Your Grandbabies are handsome and gorgeous!!! And Older....umm I think you look fabulous so forget the older part.;) Are the kids ages the ages they will be at cruise time? Just so other kids on the cruise know who might be in the club with them.

I am looking forward to this cruise. Is it here yet?????

Ann can you surprise me with a DCL?? :rotfl: I have always wanted to do that, I just can't seem to (as my kids say"zip it, lock it, put it in your pocket") very well so I fail at the surprise. I think you should just tell them you are going to LA or something and pull up to the port and watch their faces when you say " hey wouldn't it be cool if we could get on that Disney boat?" and of course they will say "yes" (or they better-LOL) and then you say"well glad you agree cause WE ARE!!!!" oh and make sure your filming....:thumbsup2

Corinna--love the pics. Sydney wanted the dance floor like on the Dream but I told her that she can have that next yr on the Fantasy. She loves smoothies so smoothie hr(free) I am sure she will be there!!

Their ages are up to date for the cruise. And these are the middle and youngest ones:scared1: Our oldest is 22:eek: That's why I say "old and older".

The kids know that we will be going to DL and spending that evening at Knott's Berry Farm for dinner... a tradition, and then a walk around DTD.
In the morning... board the ship:cool1: The girls and I did a count down chain... have you ever seen a chain with 250 rings???? It's BIG... really BIG!And colorful:laughing:

SURPRISE Michelle....a bunch of us are going on a Disney Cruise.... and YOU'RE Invited!:flower3::rotfl2:

I guess we shall see.:confused3

If we do end up going to Manzanillo, then it will be kind of a do over of some of the Panama Canal Cruise for us. We did Manzanillo, Puerto Vallerta and Cabo.

By the way, I have started the trip report for this one. If you are interested, you can find this here:

Corinna--looking forward to reading the trip report.

Yesterday was Nelia's birthday. She turned 7. She asks " Are we going on the Nexican Riviera now, cause you said once I was 7" LOL I was like I so feel your anticipation, and then I said " Remember Sydney has to turn 11 first" So June -hurry and get here!!!
My SIL who went on the Dreamers cruise with us is hoping to go MR too. Her and her DH are seperated and she's praying:angel: that her and the girls get to go. She doesn't want to screw with the girls hopes of going. Plus after all that's gooing on she coould use relaxation and no worries on the Mickey boat!!! I am hoping she can , cause of course I want my nieces happy!!

I set up for a character call yesterday for Nelia, forgot it was friday:confused: and set it up for 11am. So I got to hear Mickey Say" Hiya pal, can't wait to see you on the MR. We'll be waiting, See ya real soon" I just love that Mouse!:yay:

Anyone think that people will bail on MR cruises because of everything going on there? I hope so! I mean none of you of course but hey, maybe if they bail, they will run Kids free and then I can save.;)

dolphingirl47
01-29-2011, 02:53 PM
I think there is a distinct possibility that people will jump ship for the MR cruises either because they are concerned for their safety or because they are not happy that they will potentially only have two ports. I hope nobody from here will leave.

Our plans for fall are probably changing as well. The cruise is set in stone, even though I have to admit that I checked briefly what the Magic is up to that week just in case we end up being Johnny No Mates for this cruise if everybody jumps ship.

First we had to reschedule in so far that we will have a longer pre-cruise stay and only 4 nights after the cruise. They managed to mess up my vacation time yet again, but I am fine with this.

Now we have found out that there will be direct flights from Manchester to Las Vegas starting from April. If we were to fly to Los Angeles, we would either have to go via London or indirect via another European hub or via New York or Chicago. If we go for the Las Vegas flight, Graham wants to do the Grand Canyon again.

I had a look at how this could work. The flights are only on Sundays and Thursdays for now. So we would leave a week before the cruise and spend one night in Las Vegas. As soon as we are awake the next morning, we would drive to the Grand Canyon for two nights, then drive back to Las Vegas to get a flight to Los Angeles. I found some pretty good fares on United. Southwest has so far only released their fares until the middle of August, but that is likely another option. After the cruise, we would stay in Los Angeles for a few more days, fly to Las Vegas and then back to the UK the same day.

Hi everyone,
Well thanks for all the comments on the photos, Jetta our beagle is 14 weeks. Both the girls are at school and now I have another baby in the house!!:rotfl: She is a super friendly dog and she enjoys people after a long day at work you can just imagine the excitement when everyone comes home:yay:.
I'm not sure if you have heard about all the flooding in Brisbane, but my sister's place had 2 foot of water go through it as did my work. While we didn't flood we were house bound for a few days. Lucky hubby does his research so we knew the safest places to buy. Hubby was born in the 1974 floods and his mum has some great tales to tell, my mum however was in Alaska while her family went through the '74 floods so you can imagine her amazement at the whole thing. Brisbane wasn't supposed to flood again after they built the dam.
Hannah has enjoyed her first 2 weeks at school and now thinks we should be at Disney or at least on the cruise...we are doing this trip in her first year of school and school has started....
Good to see more families joining. Skipster you will have a FANTASTIC time. That's why we are coming back.

Counting down

Good evening everyone. Today has been a busy one. Hope everyone is well.
I am getting very impatient waiting to find out if Del got the week of our cruise off. Unfortunatley for us he is low on the totum pole. Even after 13 yrs of working for the USPS, he still has loads of people ahead of him. Needless to say everytime we book a vacation we have to hope he gets it. He just got his turn to pick and put in for it yesterday. I am hoping we will find out by next week. If he doesn't get it we will have to move our deposit to another cruise. I don't wanna lose my OBC. Anyhow just getting ahead of myself....I hate the uncertainty

I keep my fingers crossed for you that everything falls into place.

I still have not heard back from Disney Fairy Tale Weddings. They told me that somebody would be in touch within 2 working days a week ago and still nobody has contacted me. I have sent an email yesterday to advise them that I am still waiting, but no reponse to that one either.

Well with regrets---I have come to say that Del came home today and said he couldn't get the cruise week off. :sad1: Old timers stole it out from under him so now we are trying to do something Disney (like maybe WDW) for the week he could get. When the Fantasy dates were released today, I right away booked Sept 29th, 2012 before the rates had a chance to climb. That maybe our next cruise to do. Hopefully He won't have any trouble getting that off. It broke my heart to cancel this cruise. The kids were upset:eek:, I haven't told them that we plan on doing something different...kinda thought I would surprise them.

I am so sorry Corinna. :guilty: I was looking forward to your vow renewal and the girls being apart of it. This doesn't happen very often but unfortunately 13 yrs doesn't get him much when alot of the guys at the office have more yrs.

I will miss all of you.! Thankfully most of you are on my FB so we can still stay in touch.:grouphug:

:sad1:Oh Michelle I cant believe you cant go!! OMG! You should have called and told us. How sad. I know you guys were so looking forward to doing the cruise. Del needs to get a different job that lets him get vacation whenever!

I will catch up with you later I have to go to work, but again this is horrible!

Robin--sorry I didn't call. Del told me last night so I was just upset and typed it on here without thinking. I will call you later. Del did get a week in September so we told the kids we weren't going and they were upset. I didn't tell them that I booked the Fantasy for next Sept in case the same happens....normally we would switch to another cruise but we weren't happy with the MAgic's prices and the Dream has increases since a yr ago...so Del said he doesn't wanna take the Magical moment away completely so we are gonna go to WDW for a week. We haven't told the kids cause we thought it would be more fun to make them think they aren't going at all and then just spring this on them. We have booked Pop century and they will like that. We moved our deposit from the MR to the Fantasy as not to lose our discount and OBC. I will miss cruising with you all but I have to do what's right for my family and leaving DH behind would not be suitable.

Corinna --sorry I didn't IM you first..I was just upset and went with my thoughts. I will reply to you after I get back from mine and Nelia's haircuts.

We will not be aboard either. we had to cancel this week also. We are going to go on a cruise out of port canaveral. We will be able to drive and not spend the extra to fly. We also got a good deal, and saved more on rooms and were able to upgrade to balcony rooms. Hope you all enjoy. I know I will get updates form Mindi. Have a great cruise all

What is it they are saying about rats and a sinking ship? Looks like we are having a mass exodus at the moment. I am sorry that you guys cannot join us and I hope that you will have a wonderful time on the alternative vacations that you are planning.

We might well turn into long-tailed rodents leaving the (hopefully not) sinking ship as well. Things have somewhat changed for us. I finally got my vow renewal confirmed last Wednesday after my company screwing up my leave yet again, us having to make do with some compromise on the dates of the vacaion (adding a longer pre-cruise stay and shortening the post cruise stay) and then playing tag with Disney Fairy Tale Weddings. I finally got everything sorted and figured we would now be home dry and then everything changed. I cannot bear the idea of Graham and I standing in front of the Captain as Jane and Johnny No Mates with a huge cake that nobody will share with us and loads of empty chairs behind us. Worse than that, we would be charged a princely sum of $2500 for living this nightmare. So we have now decided to call off the vow renewal. I have not been able to do the deed and probably won’t have time to ring DFTW until Tuesday, but our mind is made up.

For me, this cruise was all about the vow renewal. So now that we are no longer doing this, I was very tempted to cancel. Graham however has his heart set on this cruise so for now we are still on board. We do however have a bunch of banked DVC points that we are going to lose if we have not used them by December 1st. We are hoping to stay at Grand Californian Villas both before and after the cruise. My booking window for our pre-cruise stay opens on Saturday. If we can get Grand Californian Villas, then we will stick with the original plan. If not, we will cancel the cruise and head to WDW instead.

Corinna it is funny (not really) that you should say this! Norma's husband has lost his job and they will be unable to go on this cruise. Ofcourse her family is devastated!! As much as I wanna stay on the cruise...I can't stay without my BFF. So I too am "jumping ship"!! I have not asked for my deposit back from Disney as I will just move it to a different cruise and perhaps go in 2013.

Michelle, I was talking with Matt and he thinks going to Disney World would be fun and he wants me to look into that. What dates are you going again (if Del is able to get the time off)?

I hope everyone that is left has an AMAZING time!!!!

Much love to you all!!!

Welcome on board. When you get some time, tell us a bit about yourself. I am Corinna (36) and will travel with my DH Graham (52). We live in the UK and this will be our 7th Disney Cruise, which is not bad considering that we did not cruise for the first time until 2008. We did the Panama Canal Cruise on the Wonder last month and visited Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas during that cruise. We loved those two ports.

Hi Corinna:) My family and I live in Las Vegas, NV USA which is the main reason we selected the Wonder leaving out of California. We have been to Disney World and contemplated just taking a 5 day trip to Disneyland.... but the Disney cruise to the Mexican Riviera just sounded so much nicer. We are so excited:yay: We have opted to stay in a Deluxe Family cabin with a verandah because there are four of us!

We have a sideways inside cabin on deck 6. This is our favourite cabin and we are happy that we managed to get this. We used to go to Disneyland every two years, but we bought into DVC in 2007 and booked our first DCL cruise for 2008 and have not been back to Disneyland since. Of course, now that there is a DVC resort at Disneyland and the Wonder is sailing out of Los Angeles, this was just too good to pass up. I was able to make my reservation for our pre-cruise stay at the Villas at Grand Californian Resort and Spa today and I was surprised that I got everything that I wanted. I am so excited now. I have to ring back on March 9th for our post-cruise stay as I can only make reservations 7 months ahead from the check in date.

And I forgot to mention, would you please add us to the Fish Extenders list? I am Keri, my husband is Chris and our kids are Owen and Olivia. Thank you!

I am not sure what is happening with this. Most families that have posted on here have canceled. I will PM everybody who I have not heard from recently to see if they are still going and then I will probably ask the mods to close this thread and start a new one.

Hi all,

I have been busy at work and not had a lot of time to get on the boards due to this and other family commitments. How are you all? We are great and really looking forward to the trip.

We have noticed that Mazatlan may not be on the itinerary. I doesn't bother us but what is everyone planning to do in Cabo? We are still deciding on what activities we would like to do. I guess I will have to do a little more research.

Okay I better get going Hannah has a birthday party to attend, Dave is flying and I have to get the family ready for two parties tonight....

Take Care,
Becky

Good to hear from you. I know what you mean about busy. I don’t know if I have been coming or going since coming back from the Panama Canal Cruise.

At this moment in time, there is no telling what our itinerary will look like. The last time I looked, we were still listed as alternate itinerary C, which does include Matzatlan. As far as I am aware at the moment, the last cruise with two stops in Cabo is the April 17th holiday cruise. I am hoping for two stops at Cabo though. Matzatlan has never appealed to me and I loved Puerto Vallarta and cabo on the Panama Canal Cruise. The day in Cabo is really short as it is still a long way from there to Los Angeleso getting a second day there, would be a definite bonus.

I intend to do the Dolphin Trainer for a Day at Cabo. I had a look at the facility there when I was at Cabo during the Panama Canal Cruise and was very impressed. The facility is very close to the tender port. Graham is probably going to do a snorkelling excursion in the Sea of Cortez. Two of our table mates did this one on the Panama Canal Cruise and loved it. I would not be allowed to do this. Apparently there can be issues with jelly fish on that excursion and it is not recommended for people who are allergic to bee and wasp stings, which I am.

If we do get a second day in Cabo, we will just do what we did do the last time round and have a wander arround. There is a craft market right by the tender port. Within easy walking distance of the port there is a shopping mall. This is fairly upscale, but nice to get out of the sun for a while. There are also loads of bars and restaurants around the marina. The water in the marina is very clear and we saw loads of tropical fish just walking. There were also lots of interesting birds. We ended up walking all the way to the nearest beach and took a water taxi back.

If we do end up with two days in Cabo, we will spend the longer of the two days doing the excursions and the shorter day to either have a walk around again or do a boat tour. They do offer glass bottom boat tours near the port. While we were on the tender boats, we saw sea lions up close. I would love to have a closer look at them.

Our plans are now coming together. I managed to get 6 nights at the Villas at Grand Californian Resort and Spa before the cruise and 4 nights after the cruise. As they only have 50 2 bedroom equivalent DVC units, I expected to have to waitlist at least some of the nights. I was really surprised that I got a studio for all the nights I needed straight away both times I rang. Now I just have to make decisions as to whether we hire a car for the whole of the time or get transfers from the airport to Disneyland and only get a car for a couple of days when we want to go further afield. I have transfers booked from the hotel back to the port and then back to the hotel as it seems to be silly to pay for both a hire car and parking at the port while we are on the ship. I also need to book our flights at some stage. I hope that special fares for fall will be released after Easter. So far all the specials only are available for departures up to 31st May.

Before I get too involved with planning this vacation, I have another vacation to look forward to. I still had some vacation days left and I have a couple of free standby ticket for anywhere on my employer’s network, where I just have to pay the taxes. So we have decided to spend a week in Dubai. I managed to get a fantastic travel industry discount rate at a 5 star hotel that will give us access to a private beach of their sister hotel, which is right across the street. Our hotel even has heated tile loungers! We are hoping to buy new wedding rings, want to visit the world’s tallest building and also spent a day at Aquaventure (a fantastic water park) at the Atlantis. I will also see if they have any availability for a dolphin swim on the day we go there. Other than that, we will just have a lazy vacation staying on the beach or by the pool. I am so looking forward to this.

I am in a process of finding out who is actually still on this cruise. I know that a lot of people have jumped ship, but there are a lot of people that I am not sure about. If you read this, can you please sent me a PM letting me know if you are still on this cruise and if you are, I need names of everybody, ages of children, room numbers and whether you would like to participate in Fish Extenders and/ or Secret Mickey. I will then compile a post with all the information. Once I know who is still with us, I will ask the Moderators to lock this thread and will create a new thread. This has become terribly complicated and most people who have posted on here are no longer coming and we cannot edit the first post with up to date information. So starting a new thread will make sense all around. Depending how many of us there are left over, I might have a go at creating a website as well as our own website has been taken offline.

I have now gone through the thread and made a list of people who posted that they would be on this cruise and then took people off again who said that they cancelled. I have now a list of 9 families that I either know are definitely on the cruise or that may or may not be on the cruise. I will sent PMs out either today or tomorrow asking for confirmation if people are still sailing and some additional information of those that are. Once I have all the information, I ask the moderators to close this thread and start a new one.

Hi Clarice,

I would not recommend bringing your own milk. The cabins on the Magic and Wonder do not have fridges in the cabins, but just beverage coolers. They are OK for keeping sodas or adult beverages cool, especially when they were cold to start of with, but are not cold enough to keep milk from spoiling.

Milk is readily available from the buffets and restaurants at breakfast and I am pretty sure that it will be available in the restaurants during lunch and dinner if you ask the server for it. Milk is also available 24 hours a day at the drink station on deck 9 aft, but from memory, they only have whole milk, whereas the cartons that are served at the buffets and restaurants come in various varieties. Milk, juice and hot drinks are also available free of charge 24 hours a day through room service. If you go down this route, you would need to tip the person who delivers to milk to your stateroom. Room service can also provide chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies with the milk and again, this is free of charge. I promise myself every cruise that we will order milk and cookies one evening, but as we are always having late dinner, we are always too full to do this before we go to bed.

As for meeting up, usually a meet is organized on the first day. I was going to suggest that we meet up at 3:00 PM on the embarkation day at the Promenade Lounge. This is usually a good time as everybody is on board and nothing much happens before the safety drill, which takes place at 4:00 PM. Apart from this, it really depends on the group. On some cruises I have been on, people have met up for a breakfast or lunch, arranged another meet at some stage during the cruise, informal meets were arranged at a certain time and people could drop in as and when they wanted. We have to decide as a group what we want to do. Most of the people who have been active on this thread unfortunately had to cancel the cruise for one reason or the other and it is now up to us to make this cruise our own.

On previous cruises, people have made t shirts with the cruise logo that they wore on embarkation day so that you coulod already see at the port who the other people from the DIS Boards are. I will post the logo on post one of the new thread. People either make their own t shirts using iron on transfers for the printer. I am too lazy to do this and tend to order my t shirts from Vistaprint.

Info can be shared on this thread. I will also put together a spreadsheet on Google Docs with information about the people travelling that only people on this thread will have access to.

As to booking your next cruise, when you rebook another cruise while on board, you do get a discount of 10% and an on board credit for the next cruise. How much this onboard credit is depends on the length of the cruise and your status in Castaway Club. Castaway Club is for repeat cruisers. You automatically become a member after your first completed cruise. Between 1 and 5 completed cruises, you are a Silver Castaway Club member, between 6 and 10 completed cruises you are a Gold Castaway Club member and from your 11th cruise onwards you are a Platinum Castaway Club member. All Castaway Club members get a gift in their cabin on the first day. Apart from this you get different perks for different levels. So if you were to rebook a 7 night cruise on the ship, you would get 10% discount on most categories (not for 11C or suites) plus an onboard credit of $200 for the cruise that you have booked while onboard. You also have the option to nominate a travel agent at the point of making the booking and if they offer an onboard credit, you would get this too.

As to things that cost extra, there is a whole list, but it is up to you how much if anything you are paying extras. Spa treatments, shore excursions and souvenirs are chargeable as are any photos that you purchase that were taken by the ship’s photographers. The ship’s photographers take photos at most of the character meet and greets. However, the characters always have an escort and they are happy to take photos with your own camera. I have had some fantastic photos that way. Alcoholic drinks cost extra (with the exception of the drinks that are served during the Captain’s Welcome Reception) as do any drinks purchased at any of the bars including speciality coffees at Cove Café. You have to pay for sodas and packaged snacks through room service as well as packaged snacks at the theater and movie theater. Sodas, normal coffee and tea, juice and tab water is free in the restaurants, but you will be charged if you order speciality coffees, smoothies or bottled water in the restaurants. There is a charge for certain activities like wine, beer and cocktail tastings and of course bingo. If you wish to eat at the adult only restaurant Palo, there is a charge of $20 per person for Brunch or Dinner and $10 per person for tea. Last but not least, you son is old enough to go to the kid’s clubs and the cost for that is included in your cruise fare. However, your little girl is too young for the kid’s programming. If you want some adult only time, you can book her into Flounder’s Nursery and there is a charge for this.

I hope that helps. If you have any more questions, please ask. I am always happy to help.

Rest assured, the Minkins are going to be there for our inaugural DCL adventure. My boys cannot really wrap their heads around what the cruise entails, but c'est la vie!

Thank you for reaching out to all of us.:thumbsup2

Hi Clarice,
I did get the PM, but I am missing a few bits of information that I had not originally asked: Are you having main or late dinner? Are you participating in Fish Extenders, Secret Mickey and/ or the Scavenger Hunt? Are you celebrating anything during the cruise? If yes, what and on what date? Are you planning a pre- and/or post-cruise stay. If yes, between what dates and where are you staying?
