Help with Water Parks

We have not done the water parks yet. I was wondering if you wear water shoes or go barefoot. Where do you leave your stuff/towels while doing the water slides? Do you bring a towel from the hotel? - I think we only get towel service every 4 days at the boardwalk.

we just went to blizzard beach in july. i went barefoot and was fine but i practically live at the beach in the summer. if your not used to hot pavement or rocks and dirt on your feet or your just uncomfortable like that i would get watershoes. you can get lockers. we did that and just didnt use our towels until we left. i did see a lot of people though who just left there stuff on a random chair and they were fine. they have towels there but you have to pay for them so we brought some from the hotel. you really dont even need a towel because there is so much heat and sun you dry in seconds. i never used my towel the entire time we were there. so i would say dont bother.

Has anyone worn flip flops at the water parks? Do you hold them on the rides or leave them on your feet? I would think that you would hit the water at the bottom of the slides kind of funny with flip flops on.

You can wear flip flops but they will make you take em off and hold them while riding

When we did the water parks in August the payment was pretty hot and I thought it would have been great to have had water shoes, but we did ok with wearing them everywhere outside the water. We also got a locker but we didn't use it. I had brought some towels with us from home, you know, beach towels, but if space is a consideration I would just use some from the hotel.

We all wear our crocs. We hold them on rides, but the ground hurts our feet if we don't wear anything. They are so light weight that we can usually thread the water proof key holder through the holes and hold them like that on rides.

I was at Typhoon Lagoon in September. Here are some items I hope help:
1. I wore water shoes. There is a lot of walking; you must walk UP for each ride. For example for Crush 'n' Gusher, you walk up maybe 5 flights! I think if I had done the day barefoot, my feet would have been raw by the end of the day.
2. At rope drop, everybody runs to get a lounge chair. I placed my towel and sunglasses on a lounge chair near Crush 'n' Gusher for the entire day.
3. You can wear your shoes on the rides that require a tube. Waterslides that do not require a tube you have to remove your shoes (except for the shark swim and wave pool). You can hold them on the way down.
4. If you're driving, get there early to get a parking spot near the entrance.
5. I brought a cheap towel from home, as I was afraid that if the hotel towel "disappeared" I would be charged a steep penalty.

I wore my Keens in September and I only had to take them off on the big ride at Blizzard Beach. My feet were really comfortable.

We grabbed towels from the pool area at our resort (okw) before heading to the water parks.

We went to Typhoon lagoon on 10/14. We didn't wear water shoes and did just fine. We also brought towels from the hotel and none went missing. We didn't get a locker, we just set our things on lounge chairs. The wave pool is awesome! Watch out though, a few people in our party ended up scraping their knees on the bottom of the pool because the current was so strong. Have fun!

We take towels from the hotel pools, as they charge to rent them at the water parks. We rented a locker to keep our stuff in at the water park (i.e. wallet, bag with sunscreen, sunglasses, etc)

Barefoot was better for us, so we didn't have to hold our shoes going down the rides. the pavement does get hot, so we tried to walk where the water had splashed or in the shade. I say it is your preference. They do not allow you to wear your shoes on some of the rides (most of the ones we rode).

As for not wearing shoes on the rides, my experience was that only the rides where you do NOT use tubes required shoe removal. Any ride where you use tubes, shoes are allowed (and the shark reef also allowed shoes). I don't know how it's possible to walk without shoes around there all day on the pavement and not tear up your feet!

In August when we went to the water parks we started out with water shoes but after about an hour we took them off and were fine. We didnt find the pavement too hot or rough. We got a small locker for our valuables (KTWC, money etc) and just left our towels (which we took from the hotel pool) on lounge chairs. Honestly, I dont think we sat on those chairs once or even needed the towels. I did however bring just a plain white t-shirt in case I felt like I was starting to burn.

I have sensitive feet and have not had any trouble going barefoot. Take towels from hotel and you can leave them at the water park.
