Depends. Where will you be using them? On the ship, your youngest can only go in the splash pad area. (someone correct me if I am wrong. Last time we cruised, non-tty trained kids had to stay out of the pools.). So, he wouldn't need it on the ship. Your dd can swim in the Mickey and Goofy pools. Mickey pool is quite shallow. Goofy is fairly deep. Maybe 4 or 4 1/2 feet deep? If she is not comfortable in that deep water, you may want them.

If you want them for an excursion, I would check with the excursion people. I bet they will have floatation devices available.

Perfect, this is the info I was looking to hear! Ok...I'll pack only her items!

Hope you all have a great cruise. You are the first group to sail the Mexican Riviera this Fall after the Wonder has been in dry dock so am sure the ship will be in great shape (new carpet and updated sound system in one of the theaters, etc.) and look beautiful.

My family won't be sailing the end of October so I hope some of you will be posting copies of the Daily Navigators, trip reports or other info so we can live vicariously through you until our sail date rolls around. (I'm especially excited to see copies of recent MR Navigators!)

Safe and Happy travels to you!

Happy Monday all...let’s hope this week flies by and SUNDAY ARRIVES...FAST!

I'm working till Thursday & will start the packing tonight. Each evening we have something planned to get out of the way. Starting to get nervous & excited at the same time. Hoping the DS (1) does well on the drive to LA & cruise (this is my nervous part settling in.)

I hope you all have safe travels & see you Sunday!

:cool1: :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2:

I am getting butterflies!! We are driving from sacramento too!

We are dropping of DS (1) in palm springs at the inlaws. We are probably leaving saturday around 10pm- I dread traveling during the day with him and rather have him sleep through the entire drive. We are also driving down with a friend and her DS (also 1). She is going to visit a friend while we are on our cruise and keep our car so we don't have to pay for parking. She is a blessing! Saves us $$ for sure.

My plans for the week are just to tackle cleaning a room a day and packing & last minute shopping on thursday/friday/saturday. I know I procrastinate procrastinating LOL :rotfl:

I am still not unpacked from my bachelorette weekend, our long weekend in Monterey or the wedding! :rotfl: I hate unpacking...LOL-- to my defense each trip needed things not related to each other, the weather or daily real life LOL

I was thinking of not bringing shampoo/conditioner/body wash since its available on the cruise--how are the products?

This time next week we will be having a blast!! I am soo excited and have been reading TR about DCL in general and MR/Wonder

6 days!!

I guess I am a little late to the party here. So looking forward to going on this cruise. Coming from San Francisco. Staying at Disneyland for a few days and then on to relaxation. We don't have any kids, but love Disney any ways. I worked on this ship, so I am excited to be back and catch up with old friends. Everyone have a great cruise!

Let's hope this week goes by fast.

The closer we get to the cruise the less work I get done while I'm at work. My mind goes on vacation a week before my actual vacation every single time......:surfweb: I am litterally sitting at my computer and can NOT concentrate on a single work related thing for longer then 10min.....:confused3:

I am literally sitting in front of my computer with 3/4 tabs on my browser cruise related. My cruise documents next to me, my dland tickets (that I can't use yet :guilty:) and my disney honeymoon gift card.

I just spoke with them about paying with my gcard on the cruise & just not realized I forgot to ask them our dining rotation & which night is pirate night.

Are all you adult only cruisers doing pirate night? Im undecided about it.

We don't find out about our dining rotation until we check in and apparently it will be printed on our "key to the world" card. I've bought myself a pirate wench outfit, my DD has a pirate outfit and my husband has jeans, black t-shirt with pirate mickey embroidered on, hat and eye patch (that was what he wanted).

Hey neighbor! We're heading out on Friday too, though we're driving. I'm like a few people here finding it very hard to concentrate at work. With my boss gone all week it makes it a little more easier. :rolleyes1

We haven't packed yet, though I have list after list and a letter to the house/pet sitter all ready. I still need to see what excursions there are, I have an idea, but need to go over them.

I can't emphasize enough how much I'm just looking forward to relaxing on the ship. Bring on the deck chairs and fruity drinks!!

Thanks for your list! I am going to compare to what I have (super LONG list) BTW anyone else have anything NOT on the DIS packing list?

I am confused by the required size for the carry on bag. Is this like the size of the reusable shopping bags? I am confused.

Go to your airline's website and find out about the carry on size allowed. I was on Frontier and the size couldn't exceed 9.5"x24"x15". I think. It also had to be under 35 pounds. I used packing cubes this trip and I think they really helped me fit more into the suitcases.

Eta. I just realized you probably meant carry on to the ship! Right? I don't believe there is a limit. You just have to cart it around with you until your room opens. We will carry on the medications and a bag with wine in it for me!

LOL yes carry on the ship :) Heres the policy that I don't understand:

Alcohol is permitted on board. However, be aware that any fragile items (including bottled alcohol) must be hand-carried on board in a day bag and/or carry-on bag, the dimensions of which cannot exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep.

Which I just realized the part that confused me was the "deep" part, but now I pictured a small carry on suit case and it made sense to me!

So we can bring alcohol as long as it fits in a small carry on, or a bag thats not bigger than that...forgive my slow mind!! :rotfl:

I'm taking it the same way you are: ONLY can take carry on/bag that w/in the limits & what ever alcohol fits in it...is what you can bring on.

So, if we open a bottle of alcohol & don't finish it by the time the cruise is over, we need to leave it...correct?

Since we are on the topics of baggage...is there a limit we can bring on DCL?

I mean I'm not going totally over (so far 2 roll ons & kids will share a large duffle bag), garment bag, 2 carry on bags....but I want to pack a another duffle bag just for the DS diaper, wipes, snacks etc.

I am not quite sure about the open bottle policy. My best guess would be no we can't take it off, but that is a good question.

I really hope its something small, I did a little research and it could be an infection, but luckily a rx of antibiotics should help. I read that when you lie down it causes more blood to reach your head, and because there is inflammation, it causes the pain. I ABSOULTELY feel for you!! :sad1: I've had a lot of dental work in the last 3 years.

If you can't get in try a heat pack or cold compress on the area & ibuprofen to help with inflammation.

OMG sooo funny all of us Disboarders must be obsessive when it comes to research because early this morning at 4am when I could not stand to lay down and sleep anymore I got up and did a Google search on what was causing me such horrible pain……..basically I found the same info.

Thank all of you really for your concern your guys are soo sweet!!!
So the well wishes paid off and I was able to go to the dentist this afternoon……he did x-rays and said NO CAVITIES, NO ROOT problems and NO ABSCESS and NO TOOTH OR GUM INFECTION……..WTH!!!!!
He said that often time a sinus infection that has gone untreated or unnoticed will drain down and cause pain the gum area when you lay down and that in turn will cause some tooth discomfort. He gave me VERY VERY strong pain meds and said to contact my primary for antibiotics. I told him before I left I hope your right because if not I will be back in here on Friday……. (I can’t help it when I think its one thing and the Dr. try's to tell me it is something else I cant help but to think he is a quack….I’m a MOM I know everything…..right), all kidding aside I do LOVE my dentist. So as soon as I left I called my primary and explained to him what I was going through and he called in a prescription for antibiotics. I hope this helps…..fingers crossed.

By the way just got to work and did a google search on can sinus infections cause tooth pain and the answer was loud n clear YES.....
"Yes, a sinus infection (sinusitis) or inflammation can cause a toothache — especially in the upper rear teeth, which are close to the sinuses."

On to some really GOOOOOOOOD news……….4 days then we are on Vacay!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

This will be our first family cruise. You'll recognize us with four girls, ages 5 thru 12. I noticed we'll be heading down to Puerto Vallarta right around the time a hurricane is passing to our west. Does anyone know how that will affect the water conditions? It looks like we won't be affected by the storm itself, but we are concerned about motion sickness if the seas become too rough.

:cool1: Soo glad you got the meds quickly so that you can be pain free---or heavily sedated :rotfl: on the cruise! My second guess was going to be sinuses too! LOL I thought about it after and I had the same thing happen to me...I just forgot about it and now I remember FREAKING out that I needed another root canal...dentist did the same protocol and nothing showed and then said it was probably allergies messing with my sinuses. I was relieved that it wasn't another root canal!

Does anyone know how that will affect the water conditions? It looks like we won't be affected by the storm itself, but we are concerned about motion sickness if the seas become too rough.

:scared1: I haven't heard anything about a hurricane! where have I been??? My mom JUST said YESTERDAY aren't you going during hurricane season? My response--eh just the tail end and they mostly happen on the other side more in the carribean....oops.

I just checked on the weather channel app and Puerto Vallerta theoretically has thunderstorms though next Friday. Tropical storm Hillary off East Coast Mexico is set to become a hurricane in the next 2 days. Cabo has scattered thunderstorms then winds. I've got bonine for me and sea bands for my DD. This is no going to get me down. I will just see what comes and try not to worry about it.

We went through a major tropical storm during our Eastern Caribbean Disney Cruise several years back. The seas were really really rough. We had a deck 2 cabin with a port hole and the water was coming up over the windows over and over again. We kept thinking we'd see a shark swim by our window or something. :rotfl2: When we laid down in bed, we would roll from one side to the other. lol

They ended up having to re-route the ship and we actually did Castaway Cay first instead of last, but despite all that "excitement".... we had a really great time. And we had some fun stories to tell everyone afterwards. :thumbsup2

I did all the "googling" on fifth disease first week back at school as it was going round our school then. If she's already been diagnosed then it means she's already got a rash, which means she is definitely not contagious. Sorry to hear about it. Back at school 6 weeks and we've already had warnings for both Fifth disease and head lice. Touch wood neither have surfaced in this household.

WAHOO it's here...my last day of work!! :goodvibes :cool1:

Packed up the majority of the kids last night & will do me tonight...DH packs his own stuff...

I REALLY can't believe it's finally here! I booked this cruise when I was PG w/ my DS (he is now 1) It's came so fast...and I hope it goes REALLY SLOW.

To be honest there has been a few times in the past few days where I have almost started to tear up because the excitement & a bit of nervousness...WOW, it's REALLY HERE!!

I finshed getting a few things for my pirate outfit...not going fully overboard w/ it but getting in the spirt of the theme! pirate:

So the hurricane situation is freaking me out a bit BUT I'm going to go w/...what can I do, "OH WELL!" Gonna enjoy it to the fullest & move on w/t he party except buy a Dramine for sure now! We already have our Sea Bands.

Wishing you all safe travels & a super vacation!

I actually have gotten fifths before. It a pretty mild disease and is worse (but not really) in adults. By the time you get the rash, you're fine. Its more of a nuisance than anything. Its only dangerous for pregnant women. I hope the baby is just got a 24 hour thing. Babies barfing is NO fun because they can run to the toilet and barf on everything and anything! I feel your pain!

I "yelled" at my mom last night for speaking of hurricane season the day before LOL I am sure we will do fine & with the cocktails I will be having I'm sure I wont notice :rotfl:

A weather expert on another site wrote that Hurricane Hilary is expected to peak on Saturday and Sunday and start to weaken on Monday. IF we're affected by rough seas, it would only be on Monday heading to Puerto Vallarta. All will be good once we're in Puerto Vallarta, except for the few thunderstorms that PV and Cabo routinely have at this time of year.

75 hours until boarding time!!!! My 4 daughters are already having trouble going to sleep because they're so excited. We haven't told them that my wife & I are secretly in that same "boat"!

:)

We had Ike and Corinna. Both were absolutely wonderful with our kids. Ike did magic tricks every night for my 5 yo. Corinna picked my dd to limbo on pirate night. She is extremely outgoing and sweet. They worked very well as a team.

Anyway, I just wanted to come back here and thank Katy and Sigrid for all their help on our last day of the cruise. They both helped watch Meg at the pool so she could have a good time during her last couple hours on the ship. Then Sigrid came down and helped me pack while I cried.

I cannot believe that I feel so close to you all! Alicia, Katy and Sigrid: one of my favorite memories of the trip is sitting up with you all on deck 9 while our kids swam. You were all a great support as Andrew was being diagnosed. This is what I am missing right now. Your friendship. Really. I don't think I have ever clicked with families like I did all of yours! My dh agrees.

For those of who don't know, Andrew was taken off board in Cabo by ambulance for an emergency appendectomy. I posted all about it on the main cruise board. The short story, Disney is wonderful in these situations. Long story? Check out the main board. I am too tired to type it all out again.

He was released today and is with us at a resort in Cabo. We will fly home tomorrow. Disney took care of everything!!! Oh and you wouldn't believe this resort! Our room has an ocean view! Gorgeous! It has seven pools! I am just starting to relax and enjoy it now that Andrew is better.

Bad news. Wll had an allergic reaction to something he ate and had to be rushed to the same hospital Andrew was in. He was better within about an hour though after medication.

Miss you all!

Oh and Sigrid, we hope you were serious about coming to visit us!!! We would love to see you guys again. And, we will definitely get together when we are in az again!

Jennifer I am soooo sorry to hear about your son!!! I am on the other hand so happy to hear how GREAT Disney was with helping your family with everything. Did you guys have trip insurance or did you have to pay for hospital and hotel in Cabo out of pocket? Just curious because an emergency appendectomy could really happen to anyone.........

I am disappointed that I did not get to meet up with any disboarders, traveling with a party of 13 can really take up a crazy amount of your time:laughing:

Well this was not our first Disney Cruise but it was our first Disney Cruise with a large group of Friends and Family. Everyting went GREAT!!!
A quick overview of what we did in port.....
Puerto Vallarta - Went with Disney to Las Caletas, I really can not say enough good things about this getaway. Our whole group had a great time from the time we stepped foot on the boat ride over to the time we got off the boat after our boat ride back. The food was great, the activities were great, and the staff was great!!! One of the best Disney day trips yet.
After we got back we took the kids to kids club and the adults took a taxi into old town PV and walked around........not much to see at all but did end up gettting a yummy bite to eat and some yummy drinks....oh and on our taxi ride over we got to share a cab with a Disney Cruise celebrity......VITO and his wife. For those of you that don't know VITO was brough up on stage as part of Alfred and Seymores comedy act in the Walt Disney Theater........he was such a good sport:rotfl::rotfl:

Day 1 in Cabo - We had been there before with the Disney Panama Canal cruise and that time we did the beach resort getaway through Disney so this time I called the resort ahead arranged for our group to have a day pass directly through the resort it was half the price for adults and the kids cost a fourth of the price then what we paid previously through Disney. We took a taxi to the resot which cost $21 for ALL 13 of us and spent the entire day (12-6pm) NOT just a block of a few hours at the resort......our day pass also included ALL you can eat and drink (included ALL alcohol and non alcohol drinks) and for the eat part we could order as much as we wanted from the resort not just the buffet......in short it was well worth it to do this resort getaway on our own...........:cheer2::cheer2: You really do learn something new everytime you travel with Disney.
Day 2 in Cabo - Our group got an early start we had breakfast in Cabo and did some walking and shopping. Before we headed back to the ship the kids all did Parasailing........they had a BLAST:cheer2::cheer2:

ALL in ALL it was one of the best Disney Cruises yet.....but let's face it they are kinda of awesome!!!!:cheer2:
Here is a picture of our CRAZY group.....

How funny LimoFam! We definitely saw a lot of your group in LOTS of the activities and such, and I had no idea you were the "LimoFam"! We were on the Las Caletas excursion with you. In fact, when we came into Wavebands that morning, you were the one who explained to us that we needed to go check in (and grumbled about how people kept coming in and not checking in and were holding you up...lol).

We loved Las Caletas too. My daughter had a GREAT time learning to paddleboard and we went on a kayak and just had a wonderful time enjoying the whole place. We loved the little monkeys and the macaws and it was just a beautiful tropical paradise, really!

I would post pictures but...well... I lost my camera Friday night. :sad1:
It's hard for me to even think about it or I start crying. I did have another camera with me so I do have a few pictures, but about 95% of them were on the camera that got lost. I bawled about it pretty much all day yesterday, but I'm trying to move on! lol

Anyway.... in Cabo we booked a snorkel/sail through [cabo sailing dot com] and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend them if you ever go back to Cabo. The cost was $65 each and the three of us shared the boat with only three other people (plus the captain and his assistant), so it was pretty much like a private tour. They took us out to pelican rock to snorkel and then we sailed out into the Pacific for about an hour... then an hour back and a tour of the shoreline on the way back in. Oh and lunch and unlimited drinks the whole time too. It was fabulous.

Jennifer -------- I am SO SORRY to hear of all the problems!!! UGH!!!! You poor thing!! I am very glad to hear DCL was good to you though. I am going to head over to the main board now to read your whole story.

They are covering the portion of mthe cruise we missed, flights back home, our missed excursions, hotel in Cabo for four nights, food, rides for us back and forth from the hospital to the resort, everything. Ohhhhh funny.....yes now I remember. I actually had just arrived right before your family and when you heard me "grumble"...lol, my husband and I were just explaining how alot of the first timers don't realize that there is a little check in process before the excursion gets going.......having been on several Disney excursions it is odd to me that they don't have someone right at the door directing traffic to check in as they come in, it would actually make the process a little smoother....:confused3 We have been on excursions where they make that final announcement and half the crowd pops up to check in.......
Anyway yes Las Caletas was a BLAST loved every tropical minute and I am happy to hear your family enjoyed it as well.
I am sorry to hear about your camera I would be sick with grief as well......When we were at Las Caletas our friend lost his underwater camera in the OCEAN.......my youger brother about 15minutes after the camera was lost went out to look for it and on his first dive down came back up with it so there may be hope for your camera......
Did you report it? I'm sure DCL will call if it is turned in and I'm sure if you lost it on DCL someone turned it in, Disney Cruisers are some of the most honest, helpful and nicest people you will meet.......my fingers are crossed for you

Was the insurance purchased through Disney Cruise Line or did you use a outside company? If soooooo please share, I will be sure to keep them in mind for our next vacation.

First I would like to thank EVERYONE for the amazing FE gifts. My DS was giddy every time we went back to the room and it really added to the whole experience. I must say, you are all way more creative than I can ever hope to be (both with the ideas you came up with and the execution)! We were blown away. Some gifts we have already put into action (or eaten.. hehe) and others we can't wait to use! Again, thank you everyone for each and every gift, they are so appreciated. Note to future cruisers reading this: I am glad I brought the extra suitcase to bring my FE gifts in as it was completely filled with FE gifts when we left (we had 19 rooms and it filled a small carry on... think about bringing a bag or a suitcase for the way home).

Jennifer!!! I had no idea. I am so sorry your cruise ended that way. We heard nothing of this on the ship (though from your post on the main board it sounds like your DS's news made quite the impact... shot eh?). So amazing other DISers were there to help you out in your time of need! Hope your son is doing well and that he is receiving amazing medical care. Kudos to Disney for helping you through the whole process that is so much to take on by yourself. Hopefully your next trip/cruise is the most memorable (for all the right reasons) experience of your family's life.

Finally, I am completely land sick. It is like being sea sick (sans vomit). I have a hard time focusing, I am swaying uncontrollably, almost like I'm drunk. This happened on all my previous cruises (the one in 2006 was the worst due to the location of our room and the rough seas) but this is getting worse as the night goes on. Am I the only one??? (sorry if this doesn't make sense... like I said... I can't focus or read with comprehension for that matter). I don't get sea sick on cruise ships though... so weird.

Hi all!
You are sailing right now and I'm jealous!!!
We'll be on this cruise in February, and I'm hoping that when you get back next week you could post some great server recommendations on the main board so I can request a team that will be great with our family with 5 year old girl and 3 year old boy.
Thanks and enjoy your cruise! (as if you wouldn't!!!!)
:)

It might be tough because all the good ones are heading off to the Fantasy, including the one we've had for three cruises this year. Also, if servers are on now, they might not be on in February because their contract could be up and they would be on vacation.

There is one, Leo (not sure what country but I will get back to you), who is good and just moved on to the wonder after being on the Dream and Magic. He said he hated the Dream because it was too big and many servers were complaining because the galley was too far away from the dining rooms. It might have changed for the Fantasy, but he said he will stick with the Wonder. Another possibility is Stacey from Jamaica, who comes highly recommended.

I was like this after our very first cruise, the 2008 WB Panama Canal. Since then my wife can NOT go to the last show and starts getting upset when the luggage show up. I, myself, do get cruise blues, but it's a weird. I get home and unload the car and everything feels like a dream; like I'm not really home. If I take a nap and then wake up, things are fine. I did that today and it worked, along with the fact that the wife and I kept reminding each other that it is only 210 days to our next cruise.

I would post pictures but...well... I lost my camera Friday night. :sad1:
It's hard for me to even think about it or I start crying. I did have another camera with me so I do have a few pictures, but about 95% of them were on the camera that got lost. I bawled about it pretty much all day yesterday, but I'm trying to move on! lol

Were you the ones with the white board about the lost camera with a drawing of it? And other notes about Nacho Cheese?

Limofam--we went to Las Caletas too. DH and I did the cooking class (paella and guacamole) while the dds went snorkeling and had massages ($25/30 minutes)

lostinyonkers--I never saw you but did see your husband all the time. He makes AMAZING origami and even recommended a book to me.

Super*Mum--I am still swaying, sitting down even. Had to wear sea bands for the whole voyage because of the rocking of the boat. Didn't experience that on our last cruise. Must have been the storm.

Jennifer--Thank God you are all okay. My girls were asking about you all, saying your family just "disappeared." Now we know what happened. Hope your ds is on the mend and that you all get home safely.

aussiefan--we got loads of pictures of your family on our CD. Since our daughters had some photos taken together, the facial recognition software included your family pix with our family. When you get home PM me so I can send you a cd with the pix. :cool1:

Yukongirl--my dds had fun doing karaoke with Trevor!

Wideeyedwonder--thanks for teaching my girls how to PARTAY

(This is what happens when you go to Palo and leave your kids in the care of wideeyedwonder and co. Future cruisers, you have been warned :woohoo:)

Sigrid--Thank you for organizing the FE and the first meet-up!

Everyone--somehow we left one bag behind. Don't know if it is in the terminal or if we left it by the curb. Would appreciate any prayers for it's safe return to us. I have already contacted DCL lost and found and am waiting to hear from them. The bag included all of our dresses including those from formal and semi-formal nights.

We had a wonderful time and wished we had met all of you.

WOW I think in my four cruises with Disney I have only purchased insurance ONCE!!! NEVER again will I go on a cruise without, thanks to your story. Was the insurance purchased through Disney Cruise Line or did you use a outside company? If soooooo please share, I will be sure to keep them in mind for our next vacation.?

I am sharing our story with everyone I know. We booked insurance through Insuremytrip.com. We ended up with Travelex. Make sure you understand your insurance. Ours covered our entire family to stay in Cabo. Many insurances don't, we were told. Just make sure you bring a copy of the contact info or you'll have to call a friend to get into your house and get that for you at 3 am!!!

Get this! If Andrew had had to have this same surgery in the US, it would've cost us MUCH more out of pocket. The insurance company covers it all. In the US, we'd have had to pay quite a bit in co-pays!!!

Jennifer, I'm so sorry about what happened while you were on vacation  It's GREAT to hear that Disney handled it very well and took great care of you guys. I don't have trip insurance for this upcoming cruise, but now i'm rethinking that idea. Did you purchase your insurance through DCL? Can you tell me how much it was? i'm even wondering if I can still add insurance to my trip, even though it's already paid in full :confused3 Thanks for any help you can give me :goodvibes

Go to insuremytrip.com. Enter your information and you'll get a number of options. Call them and make sure you get what you need. We covered our trip for $12,000 and paid $188 (I have the info in front of me right now). We ended up with Travelex. They've been wonderful so far. They paid the hospital bill and we didn't even have to see it. They made our flight arrangements for back home. They even arranged for a wheelchair to meet us at the gate!!!! We'll see how they do reimbursing us for all the other expenses.

Hopefully your next trip/cruise is the most memorable (for all the right reasons) experience of your family's life.

lostinyonkers--I never saw you but did see your husband all the time. He makes AMAZING origami and even recommended a book to me.

Tomoko Fuse: Multidimensional Transformations of Unit Origami (in case you didn't get it completely on the cruise). I would link to it on Amazon but I'm too new to the boards to be able to post a link yet.

:cool1:

It was awesome meeting you. And thanks for the complement. My origami is not that amazing though. I stick with the 30 pieces of the exact same fold kind. Mine is more technical and not beautiful but it's still fun.

Thanks guys. Yes. We had travel insurance. They are covering everything. They made all of our arrangements to get back to MI. They are covering the portion of mthe cruise we missed, flights back home, our missed excursions, hotel in Cabo for four nights, food, rides for us back and forth from the hospital to the resort, everything. We were told by an officer on the ship that he doesn't see coverage that good very often.

Disney really took great care of us.

We were so looking forward to meeting you all and just couldn't find the meeting place we ended up at the spa. We were so disappointed.

So sorry to hear about your sons. I am glad to hear everything is turning out well your sons health, being able to recoup your monies etc. Sounds like you met some incredible people and we are sorry we we were so lost we didn't find anyone in time.

We had a great time and can't wait for our Alaska and Hawaii DCL.

You mention the "main board" where do I go for that. I am too looking for rec. on some great servers.

Thank you all for amazing FE gifts!! We were AMAZED at the creativity and thoughtfulness you put into your gifts! Put my gift to shame! LOL p.s. that was some of our wedding music :) I definitely now know as a former newbie what to expect. I loved meeting you all! We had an issue with our room FLOODING (deck 2 room 2122 for reference) an so we were moved into a verandah room :thumbsup2 but it took a little griping on my part because we were "hanging in the wind" for about four hours not knowing what was going on or what to do. Luckily Jen the manager at guest services took care of everything when I told her I wasn't pleased with waiting so long for an answer. They even paid for us to go to Palo, and cleaned our luggage that got wet. Besides that, our whole trip was amazing!! Loved that we got Lion King in :3dglasses, fell in love with our tablemates  we all exchanged info and are already texting and fb-ing each other :goodvibes I totally cried when we left our breakfast table and as we were the first to depart from our group our tablemates waved good bye from the 4th deck above the lobby and I totally lost it there! I'm getting misty just thinking about it!! :guilty: We truely bonded.

This happened to us once! We were missing one bag. There was another bag in the area where ours was that was the last bag there and it looked a lot like our missing bag. We took the phone number off of that bag to call the owners - just in case. It ended up that those people realized they had taken the wrong bag and brought it back. But I wonder if someone just took the wrong bag? I hope it can be sorted out for you!!!

Oh No!!!!! Flooding?! I read that they did some work on the plumbing during dry dock. One of our showers didn't work (we had two rooms, so we had a second shower, luckily). They fixed it quickly though.

Jen was the woman who helped me the day we left the ship!!! She is on our very long list of people to write a thank you note to! She was an amazing support person.

I totally understand crying when leaving the ship! I cry every time.

Yes flooding! I read that plumbing part too (last night) and thought to myself, well someone messed up! The rooms that were on the same side of the hallway also got flooded, just not as bad as us, possibly one room worse than us, just not sure. Our new room had toilet issues, it didn't want to flush, they fixed it & it did it again. It was a quick call for them to fix it "from the inside" and not having to actually come in the room. Something about water pressure.

I am sooo glad you were blessed with awesome trip insurance and Jen who helped you as well. I am glad everyone in your group is also feeling better.

Interesting! We had plumbing problems too! The toilet wouldn't flush several times during the week. On Monday morning the engineers said it was a problem for an entire section of rooms. Later in the week, my DH said that all of the toilets by the aft stairs on decks 3, 4, and 5 were out of order. I hope this won't be a persistent problem for the Wonder. One of the rare blemishes on an otherwise fantastic vacation.

We were deck 5 aft and if you delivered FE gifts to our cabin you would have needed to make your way around that HUGE yellow fan and the endless wet vacs in the hallway. There was a plumbing leak the whole week (soaking wet hallway carpet). Our hostess was none too pleased as it was difficult to maneuver her cart around all the unattended equipment (especially avoiding the piles of dirty dishes). It was quite the obstacle course. Our room never leaked and we could always flush (thank goodness) but one day our sink started making a horrible gurgling sound. I was scared nasty stuff was going to come shooting out but it eventually stopped. The plumber in Vancover is fired for sure.

The "dry dock" was still going strong after we were disembarking. They had drained all the pools and were repainting/repairing them (something I was actually going to suggest as they were so rusty but Disney beat me to it) but overall it was a gorgeous ship that really didn't show its age (very old as cruise ships go). Can't wait to do it all over again!!!

Yes the mickey head magnets were from us...after talking about them by our door we grabbed a few off our door and passed them on to you. Glad you enjoyed.

I have to tell you as we were trying to deliver the gifts to your room we kept running into you and your family. In fact we were walking down from one end of the hall towards your room when your family turned down the hall so we went the other way. Then just was we left your door from delivering our gifts, your door opened. :rotfl:

I did make the keychains...with the help of a dear friend that sews. Same friend helped me make by FE for the door. It's always great to have someone who knows how to sew.

We had a great trip! I ran into a few of you (and will post of pic of us soon, because I'm sure I ran into more of you...LOL) Just a note we were the ones w/ the Mexican Feista Mickey w/ our names on the shirts the 1st day/boarding day.

All I can say is amazing! We had a great time & plan to return in 2013 for another DC.

Disney was wonderful...we had an unfortunate event happen to us as well...my Moms DH brother got very ill & passed away, Disney set up the internet, phone & was ready to make travel arrangements back for my Mom & her DH. BUT since it was already Thur, they decided to stay...w/ the flights/transfers it would have gotten them back almost the same time we would have been arriving via ship.

We had a few issues w/ my DS (1) he didn't care for daycare...so we didn't get as much "alone" time as we wanted but it still worked out & we still had a wonderful time. My DD LOVED the Oceaner Club...she asked to go daily!

I have a friend asking my favorite moment/time on the cruise...but it’s so hard to pin point just one. I love so much about it!

PLUS A BONUS we ended up hitting Disneyland on Monday...didn't know why I hadn't thought of it sooner but my in-laws & sister in-law were already in route to LA to go to DL on Monday, so we said...WHY NOT join them & we did!

Thank you all for the wonderful post & tips...I really used some of your tips/suggestions, I plan to continue to follow these boards & plan 2013!

Thanks. I stumbled across the ribbon on ebay. I sent her a note asking about it and luckily she was still selling it. She just didn't have it listed on her site.

We've been back in Australia a few days and now I've finished all the unpacking and the endless loads of washing I finally have a chance to get back to the boards.
We had such a great vacation but the highlight was definitely the cruise. It was great meeting you all and I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful fish extender gifts.
Jennifer in MI - So sorry to hear about Andrew and all your drama. It must have been very scary at the time. I hope you are all well now.

Thanks again to Sigrid for organizing things.

Just to let you know that I am bit by bit creating a trip report. I'm cheating a little as I keep a blog and it is all going on there and then I'm linking it to the trip reports on disboards. Sorry I'm only doing it in one place, but the blog is kept together for our family worldwide to see what we are doing and as I am not even up to the end of Sunday (1.5 days) has taken me the better part of 3 hours so far. I know...haven't you learned yet I'm OCD!!

Thanks Jessica. I think I mentioned it in my TR, but didn't realise how much I rambled. I know my husband always jokes that I can talk for Arizona or even England for that matter!

and sorry ur 1yo didnt like the daycare.. they all sorta started to wail. we just left him and ran, and i would check like half hr later.. did he just keep crying? Mine usually went to sleep (cuz i dropped off late.)

I remember you! :) FUNNY...how a lot of us ran into each other w/out knowing!

Yes my DS, would keep crying! :( I think one main prob is they put him in the swing he hasn't been in a swing for about 6-7 months! I mentioned that to them but they used it again...maybe I should have mentioned it the other times we had taken him back.

NEXT TIME! :)
