Well we are just back from 2 weeks in sunny Florida and 10 of those days was spent in magical WDW! We stayed at CBR and wow what a change from what we were use to. We have always stayed at POLY and we will be back to POLY or GF on our next trip for sure! CBR was nice but its not POLY;)
Okay so the cast that ate way too much!

At home my meals consist of lean meat and fish and salads so as you all guessed, yes I gained weight on this trip but that was to be expected...LOL I love seafood and fresh salads and my downfall is yummy pastries and cheesecake....only when I'm on vacation.....LOL
DH - Also has been eating really lean but loves a good steak and yummy pastries.

So we arrived at CBR at about 2pm and our room was not ready so we decided to head over to Old Port Royale and grab a bite. Old Port Royale is quite big and there are several service stations but all very fast food type of food. I am so not a fan of fast food but understand the need for it.....quick and easy but definately not very healthy. Well I tried to find one of the healtiest meal and I came up with this:
http://inlinethumb47.webshots.com/42670/2799052180105746604S425x425Q85.jpg
Its an "ORIENTAL CHICKEN SALAD". The chicken in it was pretty good but it had tooooooo much dressing and it made the lettuce soggy, especially the lettuce on the bottom. I only ate about half of it! I wouldn't order it again unless I ordered it with the dressing on the side!
DH had the "PHILLY CHEESESTEAK SANDWICH":
http://inlinethumb15.webshots.com/37262/2989843970105746604S500x500Q85.jpg
Sorry he had already eaten almost half before I took a pic.....LOL
He said it was pretty good. The homemade chips were really good. I even stold a few;)
Now DD had the kids "CHEESE PIZZA". Sorry but I ordered her food and then while she ate I got mine and DH so when I got back to the table the pizza was almost gone....LOL But it was just a small individual pizza, nothing special!
So overall we weren't too impressed but we weren't expecting anything fabulous either. But we were hungry from our flight and it filled the hole.....LOL
I guess I will say a 6 out of 10!

We were not impressed with the foodcourt at Old Port Royale either! We have stayed at the CBR twice and walked through the food court in search of something we might have liked, but we ALWAYS ended up driving over to DTD to eat at WPE or EOS. Thank god for the rental car!! :goodvibes

I'm glad its not just us;) We only had a rental for the last 2 days of our time at WDW b/c we needed it for the beach for the rest of our trip but I was great having it those 2 days.

I was looking forward to this dinner. I keep hearing about the great show the chefs do and the famous volcano.
We had ressies for 7:50pm a bit later than I like to eat but it was all I could get. We got there at 7:30pm but weren't seated until 8:30pm.....SERIOUSLY that is just CRAZY! We encountered this alot during this trip and honestly Disney needs to fix this problem. DH pretty much said this alone would make him stop going to Disney:eek:
So we were seated with a family of 4 and an older couple from Australia (very nice couple). The waitress was a bit hard to understand and the chef took forever to come out and set up. By this time my 6 year old is tired and is not interested in eating or food.
The chef finally came out and the waitress had written the wrong order for my DH down so the chef had to go back and get the right item.....yup more wait time.
So he started his show and I think we got the worst chef. By this time we had watched 2 other chefs do their thing and after ours was done we watched another one and they were all more exciting than ours. Ours was a bit boring, not that energetic and comical.
So here is the chef starting to make our meals:
http://inlinethumb11.webshots.com/45706/2002257800105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Here he is making the famous volcano:
http://inlinethumb34.webshots.com/43681/2342696580105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Fueling the volcano:
http://inlinethumb55.webshots.com/5878/2303034040105746604S600x600Q85.jpg[IMG]
It's smoking:
[IMG]http://inlinethumb55.webshots.com/5878/2303034040105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
SO here is my plate of veggies, noodles and the bowl of rice:
http://inlinethumb55.webshots.com/42934/2207217520105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
So DH ordered the "STEAK & SCALLOPS".....its actually not on the menu so we paid OP for the scallops:
http://inlinethumb23.webshots.com/45654/2519657320105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
You can see the 3 sauces that come with the meal......and DH asked the chef to pour a bunch of the white sauce on his plate....LOL
Here is my plate "CHICKEN & SHRIMP":
http://inlinethumb18.webshots.com/46289/2521564610105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DD got just chicken but I didn't take a pic of her plate. She did not like it at all. But it may have been the sleep talking....LOL ;)
So both DH and I LOVED the food, it was soooooo delicious!
We then ordered the same dessert....the "GREEN TEA PUDDING"....honestly when we received it we thought it would not taste good......it really isn't the nicest looking pudding but OMG it was sooooooo YUMMY:
http://inlinethumb15.webshots.com/42830/2455112290105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
It actually is more of a green tint on it than it shows in the picture.
I also ordered hot green tea with my meal.........I am a huge green tea drinker and I can taste the crap green tea from the good quality green tea and this one was soooo good!
http://inlinethumb59.webshots.com/1914/2560393360105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
So we did really enjoy the food but the chef was not the greatest and the long wait to get in is very disappointing.
So Teppan Edo will get a 8 out of 10.

Apart from your wait and the "chef" your visit to Teppan Edo looks really good! We have never been but I might consider that when we meet our US friends again next summer, :goodvibes
We had that green tea pudding last summer when we ate at Tokyo Dining and I was somewhat "surprised" at the look of it when they brought it out :lmao:. But it was SO good once you tasted it. So, don't let the appearance fool you!

Love the pics of Teppan Edo. That was my kids favorite. It would be the one place that if we ever doing DDP with kids again they would insist on going back. My son liked it so much that we went to our local Japanese Steakhouse for his bday. (When I say local I mean the next town over btw.) It wasn't nearly as good as Epcots and it cost about the same. :scared1: We also had a horrible wait. I think if we do it again we would get an early ADR before they get backed up. I think I will have to try the green tea pudding too. I hated the ginger choc cake. Desserts were a big disappointment but everything else was great.
Keep the reviews coming. Food porn: my favorite part of DIS! :rotfl:

Funny.....it really does not look appealing but its a nice surprise to the taste buds! ;) The tea pudding was very yummy! Appearance is not everything!

I'm back and its time for my fave breakfast buffet at WDW..........CRYSTAL PALACE!
We make sure to eat here on every trip and this time we had 2 breakfasts here:lovestruc
The character interaction is always great, its a big restaurant so the wait is usually minimal, the food is yummy and the best part..........you get into MK before rope drop :banana: I just love an empty main street! Unfortunately we were running late for our ADR, I am not a fan of the bus system at WDW. I am use to the monorail from POLY taking minutes so the reality of taking a bus from CBR to MK when these buses have no schedule I am not a fan. We sat at the bus stop for 40 minutes....we saw 2 Epcot buses, an Animal Kindgom bus and a DHS bus before we finally saw our MK bus.....very fustrating! Anyho lesson learned.......only stay at a resort on the monorail;) My rant started b/c I wanted to explain that I didn't get a pic of us on an empty main street because I didn't want to be even later for our ADR:headache:
Okay so once we got there, there was a bit of a line to check in. I gave my name and we waited for about 15 minutes. Not bad, no complains there.
So here is the fave Crystal Palace:
http://inlinethumb31.webshots.com/20958/2590542090105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
That is everyone waiting outside to be called.
So when we got in the characters can with a fury.....LOL
They can so quickly that while I went to get DD's breakfast I missed a character:sad2: I hate when that happens. But I always go grab DD's food first because she takes forever to eat!
I guess I should add that DD has a PEANUT ALLERGY and I have to say Disney is fantastic with allergies. We have been through this last year so I knew more or less what DD could eat at the buffet so I did get her food before the chef came out. WHen I made my ADRs I had the allergy placed on it so they would have a chef come out and explain what she could and could not eat. The chef here was very nice and walked me through the whole buffet.
So here is the only picture I did get of one of my plates:
http://inlinethumb45.webshots.com/2668/2434475060105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
I apologize but b/c the characters came so quickly it threw me right off and DH still was not on the ball with taking pics of food.....LOL.....but that quickly changed:rotfl:
So the fruit was very fresh and yummy. The pastries as well. DH had an omelette made but the line was quite long. So far this is still our fave breakfast!
Here are a few pics of the characters having fun with us:
http://inlinethumb34.webshots.com/37025/2261520250105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/7489/2057844950105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
So I will give Crystal Palace a 8.5 out of 10.

So after the morning at MK we headed back to CBR to go for a swim but decided to grab a bite to eat at Old Port Royale.
So DD had the PIZZA........surprise, surprise! This is a pic of only half of the pizza since I was busy getting my food and she had started eating.
http://inlinethumb25.webshots.com/42392/2782971790105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DD always picks the carrots and I was very disappointed that alot of the carrot packs had dried up carrots! :sad2: I am not a big fan of the kids meals, I really hope Disney revamps them!
DH had a DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER and he said it was "just a cheeseburger":
http://inlinethumb10.webshots.com/45385/2194628010105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
And I had the GRILLED CHICKEN and again it was just a grilled chicken, a bit on the bland side!
http://inlinethumb52.webshots.com/44723/2979524260105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DH got the ice cream sundae for dessert that you go get yourself from the machine. Sorry no pictures of that. And I got the CARROT CAKE:
http://inlinethumb54.webshots.com/42485/2833958980105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Honestly there was more icing on this then actual cake which is very annoying for me. I am not a sweets person so I was hoping for some yummy carrot cake.....I could hardly see any carrot in this cake. Seriously Disney, healthier options would be great!
So I have to give this meal a 5 out of 10.
Up next is Cape May for dinner and seriously I had some amazing desserts there......check back for the review and pictures!
mermaid&cinderella
10-12-2009, 01:39 PM
So I have been hearing about the clam bake at Cape May for a long time and I knew I had to try it out this time around. So we decided to take a taxi from CBR to BC, it seemed like the best way to get there and we got there very quickly for under $10 (tip in). Definately worth the money! We had a nice cabbie too!
So we got to Cape May and gave our name, we waited no more than 10 mins. That's what I like:thumbsup2 We were seated and odered our drink, our waitress was very very friendly! Great service! The buffet had a good selection. DH and I both tried the New England Clam Chowder. It was YUMMY! Here's a pic:
http://inlinethumb30.webshots.com/349/2779592670105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
I was going to have a second bowl of soup but knew there was clams and mussels (nope no crab) so I saved room for that.....LOL
They have these really cute buckets for you to get your clams and mussels, great idea. Here is a pic of the clams:
http://inlinethumb52.webshots.com/35251/2968078020105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Here is a pic of the mussels:
http://inlinethumb29.webshots.com/45020/2836711090105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Personally they were a bit bland but you have to remember I'm Portuguese and we do fish really good :lmao: These clams and mussels were just steamed, we like clams and mussels with a broth and spices so it ws just bland to us but they were fresh so thats a positive!
So I decided to try other items on the buffet since the clams and mussels didn't really cut it in my books. Here is a pic of "Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs", "Steamed Shrimp", "Mixed Cooked Veggies with Sausage":
http://inlinethumb40.webshots.com/44967/2206478710105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The ribs were quite tasty, the shrimp had no taste and the mixed veggies and sausage was very good.....I went back for more of that...LOL
Here is my other plate with more of the "Veggies and Sausage", "Green Beans", "Chicken" and "Fried Fish in a Batter":
http://inlinethumb64.webshots.com/45375/2272613470105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The green beans were good, the chicken was okay but the battered fish was delicious and the tarter sauce so yummy! I wanted more but stopped there because I saw the dessert section when we walked in;)
So for dessert they have 2 sections. When you first enter the restaurant there is a small buffet section all by itself and it had this:
http://inlinethumb61.webshots.com/34172/2945965700105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Starting at the top right is a flan, key lime pie tart, Oreo bon bon, cheesecake and a cake. OMG.....the cheesecake was heavenly. It was soooooo good! The Oreo bon bon was also very good, the key lime was tasteless, the flan was excellent and the raspberry cake was just okay.
Then on the main buffet they had a dessert section with brownies and cookies and apple cobbler:
http://inlinethumb05.webshots.com/41220/2735654690105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The apple cobbler was EXCELLENT. I went back for more. It was sooooo good!
Would I return to Cape May for dinner........if I did it would be for the dessert:rotfl:
I give Cape May a 7.5 out of 10 because honestly the main course food really needs to improve.
Thanks for reading!
Up next is Old Port Royale for breakfast! Will it be better than the lunches we had there?

So our lunches haven't been very good at Old Port Royale but we didn't have a TS breakfast planned for this day so we thought we would try Old Port Royale.
So for DD I got her the kids Mickey Waffles (there were 2 small ones) and Bacon:
http://inlinethumb37.webshots.com/32996/2153944550105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DD had no complains. She ate it all up!
DH ordered this:
http://inlinethumb39.webshots.com/45670/2852303000105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
He said it wasn't bad for a quick quick bite!
DH also got the Oatmeal and he decided to be funny :lmao:
http://inlinethumb24.webshots.com/43031/2605823110105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Again he said it was okay!
I was not in the mood for anything heavy so I got a Yogurt Parfait and Fruit:
http://inlinethumb20.webshots.com/45395/2574304100105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
http://inlinethumb50.webshots.com/45937/2815791970105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The fruit was fresh and good. The yogurt parfait I was disappointed that they would use a jam instead of real fruit. For a healthier choice I'm disappointed that they ruined it with sugary jam.
So Old Port Royale was a bit better for breakfast but I don't want to eat there again.
So I give Old Port Royale breakfast a 6.5 out of 10.
UP NEXT - COULMBIA HARBOUR HOUSE

10-14-2009, 09:42 PM
So after an amazing morning at MK we decided to grab lunch there before heading to the pool at our hotel (CBR) since the food court there has just disappointed us. So we grabbed a seat upstairs (a little less noisy) and here is what we filled our stomach's with:
DD had the Kids "Chicken Nuggets":
http://inlinethumb46.webshots.com/18989/2150469310105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DD enjoyed them!
DH got the "Fried Fish Basket":
http://inlinethumb06.webshots.com/29637/2803090860105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DH told me I had to try one......they were very good.
I got the "Anchors Aweigh Sandwich" :
http://inlinethumb01.webshots.com/14656/2333024890105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
I ordered the tuna sandwich b/c there was really nothing else I liked on the menu and I was pleasantly surprised on how yummy this sandwich was. I would go back for another.
DH and I got the "Apple Crisp" for dessert:
http://inlinethumb10.webshots.com/45321/2242756040105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
YUP, this is why I wanted to go to Columbia Habour House......it was so good. The perfect ending to a meal!
And here is DH just having some fun: :lmao:
http://inlinethumb48.webshots.com/43823/2675910220105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
So we all enjoyed our meal.
I would give Columbia Harbour House an 8 out of 10 .

I learned alot from reading other people's reviews so I thought I would share mine and it would help others!
I think CBR is a really nice resort if you are near Old Port Royale. We paid for the preferred room location and we were just next door to it (Martinique building 26). But our issue was that we had always done the Polynesian and its very different. Its hard to go from a deluxe to a moderate I find. If money is tight I would do CBR again, if it isn't I would go back to Poly. I have no complains about the actual resort just how long it takes to get anywhere and that is all because of teh bus system. Also the food court isn't the greatest and I missed the yummy sandwiches and chips at Poly, they were delicious!
I will try to post Tutto Italia tonight. Little sneak ..... it was delicious;)

Yes, definately lovely! Not sure why but I was nervous when I ordered it. Thinking it cant possibly be fresh but it was very good! If you like tuna sandwiches you definately have to try this one. And the multi-grain bread really makes the sandwich even more delicious! ;)

We had never been to Tutto Italia, this was our first time so I was excited to try it out. I love trying new restaurants!
We checked in and the front was empty, only one other party waiting and we were called within 5 minutes......bonus......I love that! We were seated in the side dining room, its much smaller than the main one and it was a good thing b/c the main one was a bit noisy, they were busy but not packed.
Our waitress was very attentive and informative.
We were give a bread basket and olive oil first:
http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/44609/2640201750105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The bread was yummy but the olive oil didn't cut it for me. Remember I'm Portuguese and we have really good olive oil and this one was not the high quality olive oil, big difference.
They also brought out an anitipasta/olive plate......sorry I took a pic after DH started eating it.....LOL.....so there are some olives missing, a half eaten pepper and probably something else missing....LOL:
http://inlinethumb17.webshots.com/41808/2945910670105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
These were all yummy!
DH and I shared an appetizer, we ordered the Insalata Allo Scoglio , which is shrimp, scallops, octopus, calamari, celery, olives, lemon, Tuscan olive oil.
It was very good and we asked for more bread to eat it with, oh it tasted even better together with the yummy bread!
http://inlinethumb56.webshots.com/24695/2919036190105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DD ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and so sorry but I didn't get a chance to take a pic.....they were delicious, she loved them and DH and I tried it too......so yummy!
DD also ordered the Pizza:
http://inlinethumb37.webshots.com/44324/2711595180105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
It is a large sized pizza for a 6 year old but she did eat it all. And she said it was very good. DH had a slice and agreed it was yummy!
DH ordered the Tortelli Di Vitello Al "Chianti, which is veal and Chianti ravioli, parmesan cheese, sage butter, roasted tomato:
http://inlinethumb14.webshots.com/42957/2092586210105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DH said it was good just not what he thought it was.
I ordered the Linguini Al Nero Di Seppia Con Gamberi , which is black squid linguine pasta, shrimp, spicy tomato sauce:
http://inlinethumb58.webshots.com/46073/2744607160105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
I have always wanted to try black squid pasta so this was a great opportunity. It was very good and yes it was spicy!
Now for dessert (everyones favourite right). DD had the Spuma di Cioccolato which is Chocolate Mousse:
http://inlinethumb52.webshots.com/41971/2650145990105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
She really really liked it, then she loves chocolate so it was perfect for her!
DH ordered the Gianduja - Chocolate Torta which is chocolate and hazelnut torte with whipped cream and raspberry sauce :
http://inlinethumb20.webshots.com/3539/2915285330105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
He said it was very good.
I ordered the Copetta Sotto Bosco which is berries, zabaglione cream gelato and chocolate sauce:
http://inlinethumb57.webshots.com/34232/2665298480105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Woohoo it was very good.
We had a great meal at Tutto Italia, so good I thought of trying to book it again during our stay but then decided to keep my original schedule but Tutto Italia will definately be on my next ADR list for our next trip. I highly recommend this restaurant!
I give Tutto Italia a 9.5 out of 10.
Up next Chef Mickey breakfast. We do it every visit and we know the food isn't the greatest but the character interaction is always FANTASTIC

So we always do Chef Mickey for breakfast, we did it once for dinner and it was beyond bad (the food that is). And I have to say the food at breakfast is not the greatest but its better than dinner and we go mainly for the characters. DD loves the whole Mickey gang and I find they are all very entertaining at Chef Mickey.
So our ressie was for 8:30am but somehow we got there at 8:00am....how I have no idea. We just caught the bus as soon as we got to the bus stop and then the monorail is always quick so I decided to check in anyways. I was given the beeper and then told to stand in line for our family picture and then we sat down. We sat and we sat! There were people that took their picture and their beeper went off right away. DH and I were getting so annoyed. I went up twice to ask them what was going on and apparently they set your seat when you first sign in and since that seat that was assigned to us took longer ALL these other people that came after us were getting in. Seriously I was about to leave or make a huge scene. Finally we were seated shortly after 9am.....I was so MAD:mad::mad::mad::mad:
We sat down and the waiter had the nerve to ask us how we were doing and DH told him how we were. He said some lame thing, I wasn't even listening!
So the characters started coming and they all were excellent, I then remembered why I still go to Chef Mickey!
So in all my anger I didn't take many pictures but here are two.
http://inlinethumb40.webshots.com/46055/2958710190105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The breakfast pizza (that egg, veggie thing on my plate) it was excellent! I am a big pastry nut so those were good! French toast was just ok! And yes I always have to have a Mickey waffle;)
http://inlinethumb62.webshots.com/45373/2008313290105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
So as you see more pastries....LOL and some fruit!
I was also annoyed that we never got to see our picture. Since we waited so long, they must have thought they missed us.
So I am not impressed with Chef Mickey again so I honestly do not know if I would go back again!
I have to give Chef Mickey a 7 out of 10 because that wait is just terrible!
Up Next T-REX dinner!

It is a shame about Chef Mickey but its such a nice place for the kids to see Mickey and the gang and the characters are all so good and interactive! Whoever Manages that restaurant needs a few lessons in how to run a restaurant. The characters is what's keeping that place busy!
Your welcome for Cape May. I know what you mean, when I was planning my ressies I kept looking for reviews on Cape May and they were difficult to find too!

10-17-2009, 07:25 PM
Okay so last year on our trip to WDW, we saw the spot for the new restaurant T-Rex, they were still building it and I said for sure we would try it on our next trip since DD is a bit into dinos.
Firstly to you all that want ressies for T-Rex, when I booked my ressies I also booked T-Rex and I got a terrible time, it was a late one, 7:45pm but I wanted an early dinner that day. Anywho I heard that you could call T-Rex directly and book a ressie and so I thought to do that to see if I could get a better time and it worked. I got my 5:45 pm like I wanted so if you want a T-Rex ressie call them directly!
Okay back to the review. So we had a 5:45 ressie and we went to DTD early to do some shopping but honestly the place was dead b/c it had just stopped raining............we were so luck......we got on the bus and it was dry, as soon as we got on it started pouring, when we got to DTD it stopped......the heavens were watching up that day (thank you up there)! So we did what we wanted and decided to do more after dinner so we thought to go ask if we could get in at 5pm (we hadn't really had lunch) so I asked and it was not a problem. I gave my name and waited about 15 mins (again that's not bad). We were seated and let me jsut say this place is very LOUD:scared1: But the atmosphere is really cool and DH took DD for a walk around and she really enjoyed it! They have a meteor shower every so many minutes that DD really enjoyed (she is all into astronomy and space) so that is really neat for a kid that likes that kind of stuff. I would say this is one of those places that you should do once.
Okay you all want to know about the food right, okay here you go.
So DH and I decided to order the Supersaurus Sampler . It consisted of Spinach and pepper jack queso with tortilla chips:
http://inlinethumb55.webshots.com/34550/2770653940105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
These were yummy. DD really enjoyed them too!
Bruschetta:
http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/42956/2022867230105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
This was just ok, not a fan of the balsamic drizzled on top.
and T-Rexadillas and Onion Rings:
http://inlinethumb18.webshots.com/31185/2698575540105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Both were okay!
Okay seriously after this appetizer we were all stuffed:lmao: And let me tell you we both ordered very large dinner entrees....oh boy....I could already feel like I gained 5 lbs;)
Oh let me say one thing, our server was very good but about 1 minute after we received our appetizer they brought out our entrees.....oh was DH mad! He use to manager a high end restaurant in Toronto so knows all the dos and don;ts and that is a bit no no in his book. So it was two other servers that brought our food out and DH told them "no way", bring that back and get us new meals when we are done our appetizer. So our waitress came by and we told her and she said she was going to make sure it was no meals and not heated meals. A few minutes later the manager came and apologized and said they will be new meals. So we got our entrees after we finished our appetizers and DH had Boneyard Buffet : (chicken and ribs)
http://inlinethumb41.webshots.com/20200/2611389370105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
He said they were one of the best ribs he has ever had.
I had the Woolly Mammoth Chicken :
http://inlinethumb25.webshots.com/42392/2690336400105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
It was also yummy but I only ate half b/c I was soooooooo ofull !
DD had the chicken nuggets(I don't know what the actual name is):
http://inlinethumb26.webshots.com/25689/2087784670105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The apples were delicious!
So as you've guessed we did not have dessert, we were so stuffed there was no room but I did see that Chocolate Extinction come out over and over again. It looked delicious!
I was so glad we were in DTD and we were going to defiantely walk around and shop some more to work off all this food!
So I would give T-Rex a 8 out of 10 overall and I would say its definately a place to do once!
I hope this review helps people make their ressie decisions, I know how hard those decisions are some times! ;)
Up Next Cape May breakfast!

thanks for sharing your wonderful food review. Enjoying reading and can't wait to read more. We usually go to CP for lunch b/c my husband loves the food selection but we are going to try CP for breakfast next trip and the lunch at CP is a must at ever trip. I have to get my son food first b/c he too is the slowest eater...my husband and I can go to a 2 hour meal with him and he is still eating his food...but he is a good boy. I too feel the same way with CM (we went for dinner and we thought the food was not good, thank goodness for the dessert buffet). My son wants to go back to this place so we will go for breakfast.

So we have never done Cape May at breakfast b/c of the logistics of actually getting to BC from our resort but I wanted to see Minnie dressed in beach wear :cloud9:
So when I made my ressie I knew we would just take a cab to BC from CBR and it was sooooo quick and easy and under $10. So we got there and we waited less than 5 mins (woohoo, can't bet that).
I have to say Minnie is soooo cute in her starfish heels, adorable and Goofy is very goofy looking in his beachwear;) The characters were all good and ofcourse adorable.
So to the food. I apologize but I only took one picture, I'm not sure how that happened.
http://inlinethumb11.webshots.com/5706/2298043760105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
So you remember me saying I love pastries, so there are some pastries/muffins here, all pretty good, they had asparagus at breakfast which I actually really liked. They had a toast section that I got second, the jam was really good. They had all your basic breakfast items, the only different item was the asparagus.
What is great about this meal is you can easily just walk over to Epcot from BC so that morning was an Epcot morning and its such a nice walk, a great way to work off your breakfast;)
Would we do it again, probably! Food was ok, characters cute, service not bad, it was better at dinner.
I would give Cape May breakfast a 7.5 out of 10.

So we have always done Coral Reef for all our trips. Firstly we love watching the fish in the big aquarium, our DD is really into animals and loves watching all the fishies swim as she eats. Its a great distraction and well;)
Secondly I love Mahi Mahi and that is what I always have and its always been good. Can you guess what I had this time around:laughing:
So we arrived at Coral Reef and were told they were behind, great, so not what I wanted to hear. There were alot of huge sized parties waiting to go in. Now please don't bash me but I get annoyed at parties of 20 people, it just slows down the whole reservation thing. I saw one party of 18 just sitting at their table chatting away, they were done dessert, they were there for atleast 30 mins after they got the bill. Seriously this is not a gathering place to hang out. There are other people waiting. That table could have been 4 or 5 tables that would have left at different times and not staying that long, gosh we never stay after dessert if we see the restaurant packed, just common courtesy. I have to say I had never seen so many big parties at other restaurants during our trip, just that one. Anyways if you would like to bash now, go right ahead!:rolleyes1
So we waited over an hour to get seated, we left and went on the Nemo ride and went to see the fish and came back and still had to wait and wait. Its soooooo fustrating! Why are some restaurants that are so well managed and others horrible!
So when we were finally seated we sat right up at the glass and DD liked that.
So for an appetizer I ordered the Caesar Salad:
http://inlinethumb01.webshots.com/7808/2641265600105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
It was good. The dressing was different than your usual caesar dressing, not better or worse just different. I would probably try something else next time.
DH ordered the Lobster Soup:
http://inlinethumb28.webshots.com/46107/2598151740105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
He also said it was good, nothing too special about it!
Okay I remember our appetizers being better last time around:sad2:
Onto the entrees. DH ordered the New York Steak:
http://inlinethumb15.webshots.com/45774/2273181920105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
He said it was cooked just like he asked and he enjoyed it.
I ordered the Mahi Mahi......surprise surprise
http://inlinethumb28.webshots.com/40091/2267600920105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Now I remember the last few years this came with couscous, didn't it or am I getting old and lossing my memory? This time it came with rice. It was better before. My fish was also not cooked as well as I would have like it. I couldn't eat the middle, it was a bit pink.
DD ordered the pizza......another surprise, surprise:
http://inlinethumb23.webshots.com/4566/2393059320105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Okay now I remember this was made with actual pizza dough before, this time around it was made on a pita like bread. Seriously I was not happy. DD ate it without complains but I did not like that it wasn't actual pizza dough.
Seriously what is going on with Coral Reef?
DD had the ice cream since the other option has nuts.......okay another one of my rants.........I feel so sorry for kids with a nut allergy like my DD. Almost the only dessert they can have at Disney is the ice cream. Its not that difficult to have nut free desserts, please Disney these poor kids want yummy dessert, not just ice cream. Okay rant over!
http://inlinethumb16.webshots.com/7439/2872906180105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DH had the Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousse:
http://inlinethumb54.webshots.com/44341/2276070230105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DH said it was very very good and chocolaty.....LOL
I had the cheesecake: Hey you can see Stitch in my lap.....LOL..... DD always wanted to carry him around but then I get stuck holding him!
http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/29251/2074513180105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
It was different. It had this pastry thing on top, it was a very light cheesecake, not the real thing. I like the real thing! Calories and all......LOL Well atleast when I'm on vacation!
I have to say that our waiter was really good but the food was not as good as previous years. I had heard negative reviews lately and I have to say they are true. I hope Coral Reef fixes their issues because it really is a nice restaurant, the atmosphere is great but now the food needs to match that and the wait is terrible!
So I have to give Coral Reef a 7 out of 10.

So sorry your meal here was a disappointment:sad2: I must say though, that the food just does not look good. From the sloppily squeezed on salad dressing to the pitiful meat they called a steak...oh and your poor fish:confused3 And your cheesecake...I don't know what to make of that. Just doesn't look appetising. The only thing that did look good what your DH's dessert, which was the only thing that was enjoyed. Again, so sorry about your meal. I'm actually glad we haven't eaten there. Really don't have a desire to, even with my BFF who raves to me about it all the time that it's her fave. Must be these pitiful looking plates I see on most Coral Reef reviews as of late. Better luck next time for you!:hippie:

From the sounds of your reviews, it seems like you and your family did a lot of waiting! :( That stinks, especially since I would much rather go in, sit down, eat and then go off to enjoy the parks some more.
OH, about the nut allergy thing - Next time you're at Walt Disney World, go to 'Ohana when Chef TJ is working. He is phenomenal with dietary restrictions and food allergies and would make sure your daughter got something other than just plain ol' ice cream. I'm lactose intolerant as well as vegan, and being given just a lump of soy ice cream would be disappointing as well. I don't think anyone would like that to end their meal! (Unless they really did love icream cream)
Nice reviews!

Great dining report!
I'm sorry to hear about Coral Reef. That restaurant is one of my favorites at Disney. I really do think it's hit or miss. I agree with the wait though- they ALWAYS seem to be running behind on ADRs. Maybe they're overbooking or not taking in to account the correct time for diners who eat more slowly due to the sea creatures/fish.
Can't wait to read about the princesses!

Sorry to hear your dinner at Coral Reef wasnt as good as your previous ones. That's horrible how long you had to wait for your meal. Hope you have better luck on your next review.
Thanks! The Disney magic starts to fade a bit when you wait so long to eat;)
Thanks! Coral Reef use to be sooooo good but this time it was very disappointing!
Hi! I'm in. Loving your reviews! Tutto is one of our favs and so is Coral Reef! YUM!
Thans for joining in! I have actually read alot of your threads, I find them very informative! Tutto Italia was very yummy:lovestruc
Thanks for the Ohana tip. I didn't plan it this time around but we have gone there in the past and its always been good. But the dinner scares me a bit b/c of all the peanut sauce around:scared1: That's the main reason we didn't go this time around!
I'm joining a little late, but better late than never :thumbsup2 Great reviews so far - Coral Reef looks yum! We've booked a dinner there prior to EMH, but have been unsure whether keep it with the iffy reviews :confused3
Can't wait to read about Akershus - it's on our list for next year! :)
Thanks for joining! I hope you have a better time at Coral Reef than we did. It seems to be a hit and miss so I will keep my fingers crossed that your time is yummy there like it was in the past for us!
Great dining report!

We love Akershus and we make ressies for all our trips. Its a great place to take little princesses!princess:
We got to Epcot and our ressie was before the park opened.....OH I LOVE walking through empty parks......so magical!
We got to Akershus and checked in and we waited about 5 mins (bonus). We then went in and DD took her picture with Belle and then we were quickly seated.
DH got up to get some food at the buffet and when he returned I was getting up but a princesses came by so I had to stay....LOL I saw another princess coming so I went quickly so I would not miss her! Our platted food arrived (scrambled egg, bacon and potatoes). In the rush of all the princesses coming I never did take a pic of the platted food. It was all good.
So I only got one picture of the food from the buffet. Sorry about that but we were so busy meeting the Royalty and eating :lmao:
http://inlinethumb22.webshots.com/45909/2812639520105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The pastries are soooo yummy and there were alot of fresh berries at the buffet....I had alot......LOL
So we had a really yummy meal and met Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel and Snow White.
Our server was also very good!
SO I have to give Arkershus a 8 out of 10.
Up Next Cosmic Rays for dinner on our MNSSHP evening!

So we had MNSSHP tickets for tonight and last year we did the Pirates & Princess Party and I did one mistake, I had a TS dinner for the same evening. Even though it was an early dinner I think we wasted time so to speak. So this year we decided to head to MK a bit early and just grab a bite somewhere. So we ended up in Cosmic Rays and it was soooo empty, a bit shocking.
I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich:
http://inlinethumb61.webshots.com/43324/2771206350105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
It was actually really good. This is a picture before I dressed it up from the condiment bar. I was very impressed with the condiment bar, I don't remember it last year but it must have been there. I added tomatoe, lettuce, mayo, hot pepper and sauted mushrooms....the mushrooms was really good!
DH ordered the Rib Meal:
http://inlinethumb01.webshots.com/46208/2840222470105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
He said that the ribs were very tender and yummy!
DD had the chicken nuggets (surprise, surprise):
http://inlinethumb08.webshots.com/17351/2862129360105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
She had already eaten a few nuggets by the time I took the picture. You can see what I meant in an early post about not happy with the packaged carrots , some of them are dry, not good!
For dessert we got the Carrot Cake and the Triple Chocolate Cake:
http://inlinethumb31.webshots.com/45278/2096894740105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
DH said the chocolate cake was good. The carrot cake, like I said before has way too much icing and not enough carrots in the cake. But there were no other dessert choices so I got that, DH finished mine off for me.
Typically we like a good seat down dinner but since we had the MNSSHP this meal was our dinner. I wouldn't have a CS again for dinner though!
So I would give Cosmic Rays a 7 out of 10.
Up next Crystal Palace AGAIN....LOL.....our fave breakfast buffet!

Yup we went to Crystal Palace again for breakfast! We love CP for breakfast and getting into MK early in the morning. This time when we got to our seat we had our table decorated for our 12th anniversary.
http://inlinethumb01.webshots.com/43008/2349794530105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

http://inlinethumb54.webshots.com/45877/2822083120105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
I also had the yogurt, granola and fresh fruit.....it was delicious!

So we enjoyed the meal at Cosmic Rays enough earlier in the week so we decided to grab lunch there too. Unfortunately it was not as good as the dinner:confused3
So I ordered the Chicken and Ribs since DH ribs the other day was so good.
http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/42817/2530965910105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The ribs were not as good as DH were. The chicken was just okay. The mashed potatoes tasted purely of butter (disgusting) and the green beans (I was so excited to have some veggies) must have been dipped in butter too. It was just BAD:headache:
We ordered this turkey wrap for DD:
http://inlinethumb19.webshots.com/27154/2719068440105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
It was the messiest thing ever. The wrap itself was somewhat hard, didn't move well and would break, making eating it a mission.
Sorry but I have no picture of what DH ordered and I don't remember what it was but I'm sure it wsn't good.
Here is a pic of the chips:
http://inlinethumb51.webshots.com/8114/2750697180105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Nothing special, just greasy chips.
So it was a BAD lunch and we never ate at Cosmic Rays again!
I have to give this meal a 4 out of 10.
Up Next 1900 Park Fare dinner! Bring on the mean stepsisters! :lmao:
mermaid&cinderella
10-27-2009, 05:35 PM
So we always do 1900 Park Fare for dinner. The food is usually good and ever since they brought in the step sisters, I find the character interaction even better. Sorry little mice! LOL
So we got there and waited for about 20 mins, I hate waiting:headache:
We were seated and here is what I got DD:
http://inlinethumb62.webshots.com/15165/2810596880105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Okay seriously, I love those mickey shaped plates:lovestruc:lovestruc I need to buy some for the house!
My DD loves caesar salad, she said it was yummy, the pizza was okay and the pasta she said tasted funny, kids!
Here is one of my plates:
http://inlinethumb15.webshots.com/44750/2684230970105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The salmon was good, I did go back for more, their salad was nice and fresh and you all know I love salad so that gets a :thumbsup2.
The antipasta with the olives, peppers and seafood was sooo good, I went back for more of that too.
DH had the famous strawberry soup:
http://inlinethumb37.webshots.com/44708/2669344130105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
He said it was yummy. I was going to get some but my plates filled me up and I wanted dessert;)
Here is one of DH plates:
http://inlinethumb47.webshots.com/43502/2709722130105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
The bread was fresh and yummy too!
Okay dessert.
http://inlinethumb62.webshots.com/45693/2493444780105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
Our DD thought the little halloween decorations on some of the desserts sooooo cute and it really was! I like how they add things with the season!
All the desserts were very yummy.
Nothing to complain here. The characters were hilarious and entertaining.
Here is a pic of Cinderella and our DD!
http://inlinethumb54.webshots.com/42677/2015603500105746604S600x600Q85.jpg
I love that pic!
So I will give 1900 Park Fare a 8 out of 10. They need to work on the wait times!
Up Next Tusker House Breakfast! This is a first for us! WOOHOO!!!

10-27-2009, 05:54 PM
We had that same Chef last year! DH was disappointed that we didn't get a fun chef. I thought that it was because there were no kids at our table, but I guess it was just luck of the draw, since you had your dd with you.
Anyways loving your trip report so far, keep it coming!

Animal Kingdom is our least fave park so we don;t always do it on our WDW trips. So we hadn't done Tusker House before. But I have heard good things about it and knew we had to try it this time.
Firstly we caught an early bus to AK and we were the only one on the bus, it was quite nice!:)
We got to AK and there was hardly anyone there, we got in and walked through the empty park, love it!
Got to Tusker House and got in a short line to take our picture with Donald, he is tooooo cute!
We were then quickly brought inside and seated.
I have to say this buffet is fabulous. I really enjoyed all the yummy food, especially the pastries!
Here is a pic of two of DH's plates:

The characters are also very cute in their safari costumes but I felt they did go through the tables fast and not that interactive.
But we really did enjoy this new breakfast to us!
I give Tusker House a 8 out of 10.
Up Next Le Cellar!

We ate at Cosmic Rays for lunch earlier this month and it was soooo gross...I told DH that I never want to eat there again.
He was so sad they didnt have cheese sauce on the topping bar, that was his reason for eating there. His burger was awful and I had the rotisserie chicken and the nasty potatoes and green beans...ick!

Okay so when I finally was able to get a ressie for Le Cellar I was on cloud nine. All our other trips I tried and tried to get ressie for Le Cellar and was never able to and I have heard sooooooo much good about this restaurant I have been dying to try.
Okay so we had a 6:45pm ressie, got there waited about 3 mins (bonus) and was seated. The place was almost half empty, which was kind of nice but I'm shocked they don't take more ressies for it.
So we had an AMAZING waiter, he was AWESOME, but I do forget his name, sorry!
He brought us the breadsticks:
http://inlinethumb17.webshots.com/5072/2896652250105746604S600x600Q85.jpg (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2896652250105746604NXGkSV)
Now I have heard so many times about these prezel breaksticks, how amazing they are but honestly, they were just OK. The other breadsticks were very yummy!
For an appetizer DH ordered the Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage:
http://inlinethumb62.webshots.com/45181/2995712190105746604S600x600Q85.jpg (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2995712190105746604IPyfrO)
I ordered the famous Cheddar Cheese Soup:

So I started eating the soup and told DH how yummy it was..........OH IT WAS SOOOOOO GOOD. He wanted to try and they he stold it:confused3 He said it was better than his so we traded. But honestly I really enjoyed his appetizer too. It was ALMOST as good as the soup;)
DD got the veggies and dip for her appetizer:

DH ordered the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce :
http://inlinethumb17.webshots.com/46416/2105580250105746604S600x600Q85.jpg (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2105580250105746604ueeSVw)
He said it was DELCIOUS!
I had the roasted all natural chicken breast:
http://inlinethumb17.webshots.com/2000/2740866560105746604S600x600Q85.jpg (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2740866560105746604ZUuBrP)
It was very tender and the potatoes were delicious.
DD ordered the "surprise, surprise" Pizza:
http://inlinethumb08.webshots.com/42951/2055904210105746604S600x600Q85.jpg (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2055904210105746604ODOJYZ)
And a side of french fries:

These were yummy french fries, so thick and oh so good!
For dessert DH had the maple creme brulee:

Thanks for posting your reviews. We did not do any character breakfasts on our first trip, but I am thinking about doing a few on our next trip. Chef Mickey's sounds like a long wait. I don't think my kids will wait for one hour for breakfast though.
