Is this a confirmed double-dip cruise? I was looking at it on the DCL website and it shows the traditional schedule with Key West. I was just wondering if your confirmation shows something different?

Just pulled out my paperwork from the rebooking and YES - it does have that this is a double dip with a Sunday and a Friday stop at Castaway Cay!

I also checked the DCL sight and it is listed as a normal Western. Jocelyn said that there is some reason that the Magic can not port in Key West during this week and that is why it is a double dip.

Looks like there's a big powerboat championship race held in Key West that week. At least there was one this year. Must be why they did the double dip this year as well.

Hello!

We are booked on the Dream in Aug. 2011 for 5 nights. However, we are considering transfering our ressie to the Magic, Nov. 12th cruise. Two more nights for just about the same price!:thumbsup2

HallsofVA: I noticed you are booked in the 6614, 6612 and 6610. Have you stayed in these rooms before? Did you like them? What are the pros and cons? Thanks in advance for your help. We might book 6608.

TheM&MBoys- 6610,6612,and 6614 are actually our rooms! lol Yes we love those rooms this will be our 4th time staying in those rooms. The location is great! You walk right down the hall and the elevator for the middle of the ship is right there. 6608 is a great room also. On our last cruise I knew someone who stayed in the room next to that 6606 i think) and they loved it.

Hope this helps!

Hi and Happy New Year i<castawaycay123!

Thank you for responding back about the rooms and there location. I am also considering 6616. We all would be neighbors!! Would you recommend 6616 or 6608? We were on the Wonder in a SPH room and loved it on our last cruise. We thought we might splurge on the seven night cruise with a verandah. I don't know how much use we will get out of it and we are trying to justify the extra expense considering we spend so little time in the room. Have you ever had a problem with other cruisemates smoking on their verandahs? I am highly alergic to smoke and this is another concern of mine. If we book, which we will hopefully do sometime this week, it would be really cool to keep chatting. Thanks again for your input and I look forward to hearing back from you!

Jeanne :)

Jeanne-

Happy New Year to you too! Hope it is filled with joy for your family! :goodvibes

Personally, I would recommend 6608. It is closer to the elevator. We have always had a verandah except for the second cruise and we really regretted not having one. For our family we use it all the time! The smoking issue really isnt that bad. Once we had a neighbor who smoked and we could see it but never smell it. We have only had that happen once and it wasnt bad at all. We dont usually worry about it.

Im so glad someone else finally responded! :)

Hi Missy!

Hopefully we'll get more activity as we get closer to the cruise date. Better yet, maybe we'll have the ship to ourselves! :cool1:

We are now leaning towards a SPH room. I REALLY want a verandah, DH is having a difficult time justifying the extra $1000. :sad1: Looking at the layout of deck 6, it looks like 6616 is right across from the aft elevators and 6608 is aft and up the hallway, is this not accurate? I was thinking if your party didn't smoke that I might book 6616. When cruising, the wind will be blowing towards the rear of the ship and I will be well protected with three nonsmoking verandahs in front of me. :thumbsup2 Is this crazy or what?! I know I over plan, obsess and have a type A personality when planning vacations. I get to drive my DH crazy for over a year and a half! :rotfl2: I look forward to getting to know you and your family. Thanks for all your help so far!

BTW...we have decided to transfer our ressies to the Magic.:thumbsup2 Now we just have to decide on which stateroom to book.

Stay warm!

Jeanne :)

Yes that is accurate! lol im sorry i thought it was the other way around. I always get confused with the room orders. No ma'am, none of our party smokes! And thats ok we all do the same thing with over obsessing about stuff like that! hahaha If you have any kids, I have started a kids chat on a different thread. I will be 16 on the cruise, my sister (Chloe) will be 13, my brother (Cole) will be 9, and my cousin (Anna Rae) will be 6. Yes I am trying my best to stay warm, supposed to snow tomorrow! :) You do the same!

I hope your week is going well. We finally transfered our ressies over to this cruise! :thumbsup2 We decided on a SPH room and hope to upgrade at port. We do have kids, however they are still a bit too young to be chatting on the computer. We have two boys and they will be 7 and 8 when we cruise. I look forward to chatting with you and your family.

Take care, Jeanne :goodvibes

Cole (my brother) likes it a bunch. He really likes it when he knows that someone that he knows will be there! lol

We will have quite the crew of boys, won't we?!!? That's great to hear that you've stayed in 5022 and loved it! We've never had a SPH room before.

We'll be flying to Florida. We have driven twice, but it takes soooo long from MN. We can usually get tickets for $230/pp so it isn't too bad.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone in the next year and a half!! :)

We are booked, packed and ready to go!!! Is it time yet???

Oh.... wait... we're going to WDW this May, I guess I better get through that first!!!

This time we booked 2 Cat 9B rooms, rather then 1 veranda room, it was cheaper believe it or not!!! We have rooms 2094 and 2096... BUT... now my MIL and her husband are going and their in room 2092... AND... my son's godmother and her daughter (my DW and my goddaughter) will be joining us also!!! I go to book their room tomorrow!!:yay::woohoo::cheer2:

The ONLY reason I booked this cruise, and will be taking my son out of school for a week, is because it stops at Castaway Cay twice!! I LOVE CASTAWAY CAY!!! Especially with kids at the age mine are that don't appreciate the other islands!!!

This will be my DW and my 4th DCL trip!! :cloud9:

My son and MIL's 3rd DCL trip!! :goodvibes

And my DD's 2nd DCL trip!! :wizard:

The rest are DCL rookies!!!!

Has anyone cruised the western before? What about cruising in November? We've only cruised a 4 night on the Wonder this past January and the water temp at Castaway Cay was a little cold for my liking.

i<3castawaycay123

Yes, we have cruised the westen. It was ok... It rained on every island we went to except for CC. My mom got off and Key West just b/c we had forgotten some things at home that we didnt know that we needed. At Cozumel we got off because for my birthday my present was to swim with the dolphins. (I highly recommend this, it was so fun!) At the Grand Caymans we got off and just spent the day at the beach.

The lastest in the year we have cruised was actually the cruise above. It was in the last week of October. It was never cold, but then again this was 3 years ago and I cant really remember that much about it. :rotfl:

We did the western last year in May!! The weather was perfect!! I think every cruise we've been on has been in May and we always had great weather!! We chose the western again this time because we wanted to go back to Castaway Cay twice, as that's usually our favorite place to stop!! :yay:

We've never cruised in November before, but friends of ours did @ 4 years ago and they had no complaints!!

I loved swimming with the dolphins! It was so much fun. Even though it rained the whole time it still was a great experience. My dad did it with me and he even had a great time. And on the website it says to bring water shoes, you dont need them. The only reason they might say you need them is because the thing that you stand on while you are with the dolphins is very hard on your feet.

I'm sure your daughter will have a great time!

Our last cruise in 2008 was a double dip on the Wonder. We love Castaway Cay and now that our boy's are a bit older they will be able to enjoy more too. We can't wait! :cool1:

Rescuelink: We may be interested in the doing the fishextenders. Can you tell me a bit more about them? Thanks in advance.

Jeanne :goodvibes

Read post 378 on page 26 to learn more about the Fist Extenders!! We've never done it before, but I'm thinking this would be something new and fun!! And my kids should be old enough to understand it and have fun with it!!!

Booked a "dummy date" onboard our last cruise (January 2010 Eastern) for Dec 2011 and just changed it to THIS cruise! Not completely sure we'll be able to keep this date or may have to change when 2012 dates come out, but for now we're very excited for a CC double dip! We've done the Eastern twice and are really looking forward to a Western. Wasn't so fond of the Key West stop so really happy about the double dip possibility! It's me, DH, DS (will be 16) and DD (will be 9). Seems soooo far away right now. Was hoping to go in early 2011, but doing a BIG family trip to WDW in
Nov 2010 and it just wont be possible to do both:guilty:. Unless by some miracle I hit the lottery between now and then:rotfl:.

Hi,

Just found this cruise and we are aiming for this one. Just got back from the 5/30 Double Dip on the Wonder and it was Great! HOT but Great! We decided we all wanted to go back but would try a cooler time of year. We did mid Nov in 2007 for 4 days and the weather was very good but chilly on deck at night and the water was a bit shocking when you first got in. But it was perfect for us Northerners....

What exactly is one signing up for when they put their name in the hat for a "cruise meet"?

What exactly is one signing up for when they put their name in the hat for a "cruise meet"?

The cruise meet thread is a place where all the folks who are book on a cruise come together to plan joint activities and discuss excursion, as well as, answer other questions that might need answers.

A meet on a cruise is a time when those who want to physically meet up come to a pre-determine place at a pre-deteremined time. The typical is at about 3:30 on the 1st day of the cruise. You will meet up with folks that over time have begun to feel like friends.

I am not booked on this cruise but would love to be. A douple dip is the best. I hope this is the answer you were looking for.

We just booked for East-West Caribbean B2B cruises! We were on the East Bound Trans-Atlantic (2nd time), but decided to stay in this hemisphere. We could not think of going for "only" 1 week, so are doing both! The thing is, the kids (DS13 and DD10 at that time) do not know that we have the 2nd cruise. That will be our surprise for them when we get back to port on 11/12.

There are four of us: myself, DW, DS13 and DD10 at the time of the cruise.

Just noticed you are from Raleigh, my DSis lives near by there, and we usually fly out of RDU :) It's much cheaper than flying from any of the local (very small:lmao: ) airports. :thumbsup2 Next year we are gonna head out of Richmond though, got a nice credit with Jetblue that I wanna utilize and we can fly direct to MCO from there whereas from RDU on Jetblue its a connecting flight:sad2: and I don't prefer connections on such short flights:goodvibes

Okay so I didn't book on board and I am kicking myself!! Oh well I need to get over it. We are going on this cruise though. And I am very excited about it. I was torn between this one and a b2b on the dream. My kids are still pretty young, they will be 2.5 and 4.5 at the time of the cruise, so they won't care about being on a new ship. I think my husband is pretty bummed that we won't be going on the new ship, but with 2 stops at Castaway Cay and Grand Cayman and Cozumuel he can deal with it.

So we haven't booked yet, waiting on my TA to get back to me and I'm not going to put the deposit down until January anyways so it will be a couple weeks before it's official.

I noticed on the itinerary that the 1st day we are at castaway cay we need to be back on the boat by 2:30pm. Did anyone else notice this??? I wish we had a few extra hours there.

On the cruise will be me Jill (30) oh Gee I guess I will be 31 when we cruise!!!
DH Chris (33) Not a big Disney fan but a huge fan of his wife and kids having a good time!!!!
DD Emily (4.5)
DD Allison (2.5)

Obviously we do not have a room assignment yet as we are not booked!! We are very interested in doing the FE. I plan on upgrading our room at the port if rooms are available or doing it for the actual full price if the rooms start to disappear. I'm hoping I can do it at the port to save some money as that time of year it is not as crowded. Here's hoping:wizard:

Looking forward to hearing from others on this cruise!!!

It's great to have you join us too!!! Don't worry about reading the posts, I think most of them are mine:rotfl::lmao: I'm so happy to have more people joining the group! We just got back from our first Carnival cruise, and although we had a really great time I missed the buildup of excitement from my fellow DIS'ers!!!!:grouphug: Can't wait to get to chat with you guys in the upcoming months! It's gonna be so magical!:goodvibes

Thanks, Disneydreamer! DH & I took a Carnival cruise pre-kid (seems forever ago) and had a ball too.

Re: the excitement - We booked our recent Magic cruise 3 1/2 months prior to sailing and had a hard time with all the anticipation/anxiety that came with waiting so long. Now that it's almost a year away, I don't know if I can stand it!!

Not sure if anyone noticed, but the price of our sailing doubled since we booked less than a week ago! They're charging $2059/pp for a std inside stateroom! Is this normal or will that price come down? It's more than double the price of the Thanksgiving holiday sailing! I'm sooo glad we booked when we did!! I guess it must be due to the double dip?? That's the reason why we booked. Since we've already been to Key West, Cozumel and Grand Cayman on previous vacations, we never got off on any port except for Castaway Cay and had such a blast that we were planning on booking a 5-nt Bahamas double dip until we discovered this 7-nt! Woo-hoo! Am sooooo excited!

I do apologize if this was brought up previously, but I would like to add our family to the FE list. We still are going through all the goodies we received and are amazed at the creativity of our cruisemates, so please count us in.

Thanks again ... talk to you all real soon!

We haven't booked yet and I just checked the rates this morning and they still are $839 for the adults for an inside room. I actually priced out this same cruise for 2010 and the prices for 10 were the same as 11. I'm planning on booking an inside room and then switching to the Florida rate if and when it becomes available. Then trying to upgrade at the port. This is not a popular time to sail and with the new ship I think a lot of people are either waiting for the fantasy or sailing on the dream. Which is good news for us!!! If for some reason the cruise starts to fill up, I will then change our ressie to the room type I want to be in!!! Is that super confusing or What!!! Is it November yet!!!!!

You're right. I've looking at cruise.com (because it's faster) and their rates are still showing the crazy high double price. Must be a glitch. Glad that it's still at a decent rate (and to hear that it'll be low season). :-)

We are happy to be joining you guys for the November 12, 2011 cruise. Our crew is Me- Mary, DH Jamie, DS James age 8, DD Sienna age 5 and DD Lilah age 2. This is our first cruise ever and we are really excited. We will be in 2 connecting Oceanview staterooms, room 2638 and 2640. I think I would like to be on a higher deck, but this was all they had left for Oceanview connecting rooms. We have the early dining scheduled. Can't wait, only 10 more months to obsess over this vacation here on the disboards.

Hi all!

Life's been nuts with the holidays and digging myself out of work. Just wanted to pop in and say hello and let everyone know that my in-laws, Pamela & Ted, are joining us on this cruise. They're in their own separate cabins and will likely pop in and introduce themselves shortly.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead!

BTW - I do hope we do FE's. We did it on our last cruise and it made it soooo much more exciting, just the anticipation of what will be waiting for us each time we go back to our stateroom!!

Disneydreamer - I just got my initial "welcome back" docs, so it gave me a small boost of excitement. Will do better at popping back in. I do feel like if I start getting myself all worked up, I may not make it 'til November!!

Oh, and, happy new year to everyone! :)

Wish were were on the cruise now. Our heater finally went out last night and the HVAC folks tell me "the part" is still not in. Luckily, there's heat on our 2nd floor where DS sleeps, but DH and I are huddled in our electric blanket turned to "10" and will sleep with wool hats (the Elmer Fudd type) on our head. Oh, and we're expecting about 4 inches of snow tonight. :scared1: Can someone pleeeez send over some heat??!!

Welcome, Disneystowaway! I've not been here long but have enjoyed the company of the few who have popped in. I'm sure activity will continue to pick up as we near our date. In the meantime, welcome and glad you can join us!

Disneydreamer - thank you for the well wishes. We finally got heat after 2 days of frigid 15-degree weather. Of course, it's 45 degrees now that we have heat. With that said, I'm not going to complain. It's amazing what we take for granted, esp. when something like heat is gone for a day or 2. Brrrrr. How did those cavemen do it??

Hope you all have a great week!

Ok, can I tell everyone a secret? (I'm dying to tell somebody and will explode if I don't. I can't even tell my own mother because she'll likely slip.) My DH is turning 40 in July. I'm planning a big surprise party for him in late June when his best friend will be in town from Amsterdam, where he just relocated his family. I'm going to have DH unwrap a racing school baseball cap, look confused, and then run a video that shows his "ultimate middle-life crisis gift": a half-day session in a Formula 1 race car, Grand Prix-style, in Sonoma. I just got the package in the mail at my office on Friday, and I don't know how I can keep it a secret for 5 whole months! :scared1:

Just did a quick search and found that it's only cruises that sail from May 3 to June 7. Could they have sold out that quickly? :confused3 UPDATED: Checked DCL's website and you need to book an oceanview or verandah to get that rate.

And I got a kick from your 'secret' post. Sounds just like me. :lmao: Cannot keep a secret if my life depended upon it. I try to tell our dogs to let off steam but it doesn't help. And DD seems sadly to be following in my footsteps. What an AWESOME surprise for him! :cheer2:

We just put a deposit down last night for this cruise. It's our first on DCL and our first as a family (we did an adults only eastern Med on RCCL this past summer) so we are very excited. :goodvibes We are big WDW fans and DVC owners, so we are way overdue for a Disney cruise!

We're a family of four - I just turned 30, my husband will be 32, and our two kids Katie (will be 7) and Kieran (will be 6). The kids are VERY social so I expect that I'll have to drag them away from the kids clubs.

Speaking of Florida....;) Is anyone planning on coming down early? I'll save you a bit of back-searching ;) We don't have cabin numbers as of yet but right now we will be 5 cabins:
My DSis ruley3 will likely be the only participant in the FE's as she is the only one traveling with children:)

Cabin 1
Me(Holley)
DH (Chris).

Cabin 2 & 3
Ruley3 is my DSis and as of now has 2 cabins consisting of:
Her(April)
DH (Robert)
DS16 (Layne)
DS7 (Lance)
DD4 (Layla)
She will most likely be participating in the FE's and will pop on and confirm this soon I am sure:rolleyes:

smashan (Ashley) is my very dear friend and will be traveling solo so just her in a cabin

Cabin 5
Tentatively my Dad & stepmother may also be cruising with us and maybe my other DSis Sarah, won't know for sure about those 3 for a while still so you can include them or not no biggie either way:thumbsup2

:cool1: Here's the list of cruisers as best as I can make out. If no stateroom number was known or posted then I put a ???? there. Please let me know if you want to participate in the FEs and I'll place a :flower3: by your DIS username. Remember: it's NOT just for kids! I realize some have already 'signed up' to participate but I want to be sure. :goodvibes:

Your rock!!!!:banana::banana: All of our travel party will have late dining (ruley3, smashan, and the rest of the clan:rotfl: ) As for our cabin assignments, we all have GTY's booked so we will not know our actual cabin numbers til about a month out, if that soon:goodvibes That won't be an issue for my DSis with the FE's will it:confused: Anyway thank you so much for taking charge of it!:thumbsup2

What about a DIS meet? On our last cruise we had one in the Promenade lounge at 3:00pm and did a gift exchange, which I thought was really neat. :yay: All we did was whoever wanted to participate in the gift part just brought a little something from where they were from to represent their hometown/state, and we wrote down the names of who brought something and then drew names, that way everyone who brought a gift received one as well and there was no pressure to participate in that part of the meet, it was just some added fun:thumbsup2 What do you guys think of that? I would be happy to organize that if everyone would be interested in at least a meet & greet, the gift exchange would be a total bonus:goodvibes It was nice to meet everyone and chat for a bit before the muster drill and sail-away, let me know, as I said I would be more than happy to take care of that:woohoo: Only 280 days til we leave for Florida!!!!:cheer2:

Karen - thank you soooo much for organizing the FE list!! :worship: Am PM'ing you now ...

Brandy - :welcome: Welcome aboard! I agree w/ Holley, you & your family are in for a treat!!

Holley - Wish we could join you early, but w/ a will-be-4 yo in tow, the less travel scramble we do, the better, so we'll be flying out the day of. I know. We like to walk on the wild side. :)

This is my last weather update ... blizzard, white-out conditions in the Midwest ... but, I got to stay at home w/ the fam. Nice trade-off. :thumbsup2

It was ALOT of fun!!!! My DSis (ruley3) was more involved with it than I was then, but I know she would be more than happy to help teach me some of her tricks:cloud9: It really was a blast!!!:cool1: I hope others are interested in it as well, it was really neat to see what people brought from where they lived! I do recommend it be just a simple gift, it wasn't really about what you brought, it was just a really fun way to get to know each other:flower3:I also suggest that you pack it in your carry-on since you never know when you will get your luggage!

We did a B2B Eastern/Western in 2008. It was WONDERFUL! I just got off the 15 day Panama Canal Cruise and signed up for the 14 day Westbound TA. Y'all KNOW I wish this was a B2B cruise too!

My guess is the 2:30 on board time has to do with the distance to Grand Cayman. Key west is a few hours closer to GC hence the earlier departure from Castaway Cay.

Has anyone thought about updating the sailing list? I'm in for the FE! Our stateroom is #7631 and we have early dining. Cannot wait...it's been almost 5 years since we sailed on the Magic.

If the original poster is no longer visiting this thread, no one can update that post (except possibly a moderater, who of course won't have the time). We'd have to have a new thread started by someone who is committed to maintaining the first post.

FE and Gift exchange will need a volunteer each to keep the list of participants / set the groundrules.

BTW, does anyone speak Spanish? One family of my friends and the husband of the other family are native Spanish speakers.

For the time being, a :flower3: next to the ID means participating in FEs. I loooove Holley's idea about a meet at the Promenade for a gift exchange as well. Will use a :wave2: to mark those participants.

:wave2: Hope all have survived Mother Nature's most recent gift of weather relatively unscathed. LOL My obsessive / compulsive organizing self had a couple of thoughts to share. Let me know what you think:

1. I will be more than happy to maintain the roll call I started in post #146 (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39789596&postcount=146). With each new member to the thread I will point them there for the info. As we outline activites, meets, exchanges etc. I will update that post with links to the others. Follow me?

2. If your stateroom is GTY and you want to participate in the FEs do not worry about it. The FE Coordinator will maintain a list of changes / assignments on their stateroom door. At some point I will type out the 'groundrules' and such of the FEs for review / revision and link to it on the Roll Call post.

3. I do believe Holley, Disneydreamer82, agreed to do the organizing and such for the Gift Exchange. :worship: Holley, if you want to post a message with a description / rules / suggestions I will link to it from the Roll Call.

Although this will be my 6th cruise with DCL all of this is new to me. Please be patient and offer advice, help, suggestions, etc. :goodvibes

Gift Exchange Info:cool1:

Meet & Greet in the Promenade Lounge Deck 3 at 3:00pm on Embarkation Day!!!!

We will meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00pm before the muster drill and sail-away to get to know one another briefly, put names to faces, and for those of you who would like to participate, we will also have a gift exchange!:goodvibes

Here's how it works:

Each family will bring a small gift to represent the area they are from, aka their hometown/state;) For example you could bring something from a local store like maybe a trinket from an artist in your hometown or if you are into sports bring something to represent your favorite home team. Last cruise on DCL, the gift I received was from a very sweet lady from Texas, she brought some local spices & coffee, along with a little Texas BBQ cookbook. It was really cool! It's just a simple gift nothing extravagant, that is unless you wanna give me a free cruise:lmao:

No seriously just something light and fun. :flower3:

At the meet & greet, I will have name-tags to hand out where we will put our DIS name along with our real name, so that we can identify one another easily:goodvibes Then for each person or family who has brought a gift, when you come in find me, I will be handing out some lei's & up at the bar looking like I am in charge:rolleyes1: Also I'll be wearing a name-tag:rotfl2: At that point I'll write down your name & put it into a bowl/hat for the drawing part. I will also jot your name down on a list of who is actually participating in the exchange. That way everyone who brings a gift will receive one in return:) You hang onto your gift and have a seat, get to know some other people, have a drink, just relax:goodvibes

Around 3:30pm, which should give everyone enough time to mosey on down, we will begin the exchange:yay: I will call a name from the list and that person will come up pull a name from the drawing pool and exchange gifts with the person whose name they have drawn. :thumbsup2

Very simple lots of fun and it ensures that each person who brings shall receive:grouphug: And no one is pressured into bringing something, it's completely up to each family, but please do come and hang out with us either way!!!party:

Can't wait! It's gonna be sooooo much fun!!:hyper:

Just an update for the list.
We'll be in #8580; DW, DH, DD11, DD2 (will turn 3 on cruise)
Not sure about FE yet, but sooooo excited for this cruise. (we booked it last Ferbruary) Hoping for a kids sail free offer, DH says we can use savings to try a cabana on CC. :cool1:

I am super excited about going on a cruise! This will be our first cruise ever. I also talked 2 other families into going on this cruise to and it will also be their first cruise. But for some reason I am having doubts about choosing this particular trip. Since I convinced 2 other families to go with us I am afraid to disappoint them to. I guess I just know there are newer ships out there and that they might be better than this one. Please can someone knock some sense into me! Am I making a good choice to go on this one or should I change to the newer ship? What makes this one the better choice?

I can't speak from exp re: the new ships, but our exp on the Magic last November was fantastic ... hence we've rebooked and will be boarding again this November. With that said, if I had the choice between Fantasy/Dream or Magic, I would probably choose 1 of the former - just to see what the newer ships are like, as the Magic does show some wear. However, the newer ships don't have the 7-nt Caribbean itineraries, so that's why we're sticking with the Magic. Plus, can't beat a double dip at Castay Cay!! :thumbsup2

Hope that helps!

I've only been on the Wonder and personally, I have no desire to see the new ships. I love the classic look of the Wonder & Magic and the smaller size. I don't want to feel crowded with all the extra people on the ship or CC. We like to see ports, so we chose western over eastern due to it having 1 less day at sea. Also, I second the pp about 2 stops at CC, that's THE reason we picked this cruise, our 4 night was waaaaay to short, so we wanted to try a 7 night and my DD thought CC day was the best day ever :cloud9:, so 2 of those days was perfect. :goodvibes

9 months TODAY? WOO HOO!

I LOVE the Magic - we love long cruises - love the not-so-giant ship, and I will be sorry if the Magic moves to Europe after the Fantasy comes on line.

It is -4 this morning in upstate New York! Glad I have an indoor activity planned for today. Scrapbooking at a friend's house - then walk the mall while I wait for the happy skiers to return on the bus.

Happy Day, everyone!

Just heard from my friends last night - they have signed up for this cruise - as well as one of his work mates and her son, and my Mexican family as well - so that's 3 more cabins :) They're still sorting out where they'll exactly be.

I'm SO HAPPY!

Awesome!!! We also have some additional family who have decided to come on this cruise! It will be my DLittleBro, his DW and their two little girls, one who will be 5 and the other will be 8 at the time of the cruise:cloud9: This will be their second cruise and it's going to be a surprise for the girls!!:yay:

On a more depressing note my other DNiece who is only 3 1/2 (ruley3's youngest child) broke her wrist today at school, and is wearing a hot pink cast:sad2: Goodness! What a day for her!:sad1:

But guess what.........
Only 268 days to go! At least she won't be wearing a cast on our cruise:lmao:

Glad to hear there are some new folks joining this trip. Double dips are the best in my opinion. :cool2:

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Definitely not the only ocd planners! I have a travel spreadsheet for every year since 2001, lol.

The points I need to ponder for this trip
There will be 3 kids under 6, one age 9 and one teenager (we usually don't travel with any)
This is our 4th Western and our friends 3rd. Need to find something new.
Table for 12!
We're a bilingual party and a couple of us don't speak Spanish at all :( (I Speak a little from 3 years in high school, but I've bought a "listen in the car" set of CDs to upgrade that- wish me luck)

Happy Day, all!

Hello all! We just changed our cruise dates so we are now on your cruise! Woo hoo! We were originally going late Nov/early Dec because the point of the cruise for us is to celebrate DS's 1st birthday. After much debating I decided that going a few weeks early would still be celebrating for him and so it was worth the change to get the extra day at Castaway. Our last cruise (and first ever) was when our DD was 18 months and it was her favorite part. There will be 4 of us.

Me- Cassandra (28)
DH- Justin (26) (Yes I married a younger man....haha)
DD- Carrington will be 3 months shy of turning 3 when cruising
DS- Will be 11.5 months on the cruise

Welcome to the party, Firefly & Buckeye Princess!

Hope everyone has been well. Work has been nuts the last 2 weeks, so sorry for the disappearing act. I'm here to report that I believe we saw sun this week! (And, a tornado) I suppose you take the good w/ the bad. :)

DH is in California this week on biz, so I actually have a little time to myself and catch up. Miss him, yes. A little time to unwind, woohoo! :)

Going on a company trip to Cancun in April. Hopefully, that'll tide us over 'til Nov! We're so sun-deprived that I actually went out and bought one of those artificial sunlight lamps. No joke. One side of my face now has more freckles than the other, but I'm getting better sleep. Again, take the good w/ the bad. :)

Hope all is well with everyone!!

On another note, is it November yet!?:rolleyes1 Here's a funny little story to make you guys giggle...My DH's birthday was yesterday so I took him out for dinner and drinks, long story short, he doesn't drink often and he had a few to many I suppose, because I was awakened in the middle of the night to him attempting to put on his pirate costume!! pirate: I couldn't stop laughing and he of course has no recollection of the event!:lmao: Guess I am not the only one ready to get on the ship!!
