Jbwork I am so jealous you are in wdw. I hope the little monkey feels better soon, as least you thought ahead to bringing a nebulizer. Re h2o, I buy a case at the grocery store with my case of diet pepsi (hate coke) put sticker on them and give them to the porters. I haven't had a problem. I was hoping to get my kiddies started on pin trading but I was afraid to do a bag of pins b/ c I didn't want fakes and one pin I ordered was a fake. Who did you use?

Odd question, does anyone know if they sell bottled water on the boat other than Evian? I'm a water snob, I hate Evian, :snooty: And I drink alot of water, but I can't recall what the ship tap water was like. I don't drink soda, so I will either have water, or some sort of adult beverage in hand, :cloud9:
I heard they have bottled water, I'm not sure what kind, but we're getting a case of water to bring on board with us!!! :thumbsup2

[QUOTE=LindaBabe;43170268]Good Evening Happy Cruisers!
I figgered we'd get MORe posts the closer we got to cruise day. Instead, we seem to be getting fewer. Is everyone SO busy PACKING you can't post?
Yes! Packing for this cruise is harder than packing for anything else! We had to pack twice a month for 11 months when we were going back and forth to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, we should be pros!

Do the wave phone work room to room? yes, and house phones do too. (that is the phones in the elevator lobbies and so forth - you can call wave or room.
Omg firefly great idea about the zip tie! I overpack too but you have a toddler so it is ubavailable. Yesterday i went to Macy's to buy a bigger carryon (24 inches) but bought a 25 because it was cheaper and then realized when got home may be too big for jetblue so need to exchange it today! Also need a hoop earing for pirate night (claires).
I didnt post yesterday b/c Sam was up and full of energy at 4 a.m. !!!!!!
Disneydteamer thanks for the update! And was it you who posted about the tiedie Mickey head tee shirts? They look great I was thinking of doing some but I don't want to if you are doing them?
I ordered mine from zazzle last night ( my order had been in limbo for weeks as the site wouldn't process it and I tried several computers) I paid for two day shipping I hope they are here by thurs nt.....):rolleyes1
We are starting to get the family cold but am hoping to kick it by Friday)
hope you're all better by sailaway. One of my group ordered tie dye mickey head shirts from someone she saw at a craft fair. My fingers are crossed that they are nice.
Well, we've been in WDW since Thursday, and its actually been really chilly! I'm looking forward to some warmer temps while on the cruise. Today is actually looking nice and warm here, but the clouds are still hanging out.
My son is getting killed with the warm to cool weather and we are currently sitting in our room doing a breathing treatment, :sad2: Poor little monkey is fairly congested, hopefully we will run it out of his system today.
We introduced the kids to pin trading yesterday, and that may have been a bad idea. We don't seem to get more than 20 yards without having to stop a CM. I just ordered a lot of pins off ebay and had them shipped to the resort to give them some trading ammo for the rest of our WDW stay and the cruise, :rotfl:
Odd question, does anyone know if they sell bottled water on the boat other than Evian? I'm a water snob, I hate Evian, :snooty: And I drink alot of water, but I can't recall what the ship tap water was like. I don't drink soda, so I will either have water, or some sort of adult beverage in hand, :cloud9:
When trading, I always bought my pins off ebay, but started with a few and ended up buying several lots over the years from the same man, since he always did right by me. Unfortunately, he seems to not be ebaying any more or I would surely recommend him.
The ship made tap water is fine - virtually tasteless. I have taken bottled water in the past, but don't any longer. I don't like to lug stuff.
And a big shout out to Roz from our party who just became a first time Grandma on Friday!
Baby, Faith Lorraine princess: A future Disney Chixer..... Congrats to Grandma Roz and all the baby's disney aunties.

Okay, we're down to the crunch. 3 suitcases for 3 of us, and 3 carry-ons. I was told it would be okay to not bring the kitchen sink.
As first time cruisers we're really not sure of what "extras" to bring. I've scanned the threads and picked up a couple of pillow cases and markers, and made door magnets (DW had a lot of fun with what we have planned for our door).
Can anybody offer any last minute suggestions for things to pack which most people don't think of until they get onboard and say "Oh, I should have brought that? I'd hate to get there and say "Oh, I wish we'd have known that or thought of that". Items such as an extension cord, etc etc.

Hi--
We're the Jillsons:
Patty
Mike
Cassandra (11)
Caroline (7)
We came upon the notions of Disboards and fish extenders late (first heard about from a fellow gymnastics mom on Friday), so we won't be participating in anything with you. But feel free to swing by Rm 2512 to check out our decked-out door complete with a family flag made years ago at a Girl Scout family camp weekend...and one-of-a-kind Disney magnets that my kids hope to craft this week before we sail!
We're looking forward to a fun-tastic cruise! (This is our second sailing--first was aboard the Wonder to the Bahamas in 2010.) See you aboard.
--Patty
:welcome: !!!!!!!!!!!! I added you to our cruiser list!! Please do come to the meet & greet at 3:00pm in the Promenade Lounge and say hi!!:goodvibes

Gift Exchange Info
Meet & Greet in the Promenade Lounge Deck 3 at 3:00pm on Embarkation Day!!!!
We will meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00pm before the muster drill and sail-away to get to know one another briefly, put names to faces, and for those of you who would like to participate, we will also have gift exchange! If you are participating in the gift exchange please be in the Promenade Lounge no later than 3:15. We will begin drawing names at that time!!!
Here's how it works:
Each family will bring a small gift to represent the area they are from, aka their hometown/state For example you could bring something from a local store like maybe a trinket from an artist in your hometown or if you are into sports bring something to represent your favorite home team. Last cruise on DCL, the gift I received was from a very sweet lady from Texas, she brought some local spices & coffee, along with a little Texas BBQ cookbook. It was really cool! It's just a simple gift nothing extravagant, that is unless you wanna give me a free cruise
No seriously just something light and fun!!
At the meet & greet, I will have name-tags to hand out where we will put our DIS name along with our real name, so that we can identify one another easily Then for each person or family who has brought a gift, when you come in find me, I will be handing out some lei's & up at the bar looking like I am in charge : Also I'll be wearing a name-tag At that point I'll write down your name & put it into a bowl/hat for the drawing part. I will also jot your name down on a list of who is actually participating in the exchange. That way everyone who brings a gift will receive one in return You hang onto your gift and have a seat, get to know some other people, have a drink, just relax : )
Around 3:30pm, which should give everyone enough time to mosey on down, we will begin the exchange I will call a name from the list and that person will come up pull a name from the drawing pool and exchange gifts with the person whose name they have drawn.
Very simple lots of fun and it ensures that each person who brings shall receive And no one is pressured into bringing something, it's completely up to each family, but please do come and hang out with us either way!!!
Can't wait! It's gonna be sooooo much fun!!

Bonine
sweater - could be chilly in the diningrooms or on deck at night
water shoes - for the beach - something you don't mind getting sandy or wet
multiplug extension cord - there are two sockets on the desk. that's it.
glow sticks - make great night lights in inside cabins
ziplock bags - a few each in all sizes.
highlighters for the navigators - one for each member of your family in different colors
post-its and pen

Make A Wish came by last night for Nico's wish granting presentation! They brought him a rolling Cars 2 suitcase, 2 shirts, a photo album, and coloring books & crayons for him and Sophia. Nico looks forward to going to the beach. Because of his tubies (port), he hasn't be able to go to the beach for the past 2 summers. He says he wants to take a picture of it and put it in a picture frame. I get all emotional just typing this, I am so thankful he is being given this gift. MAW is a wonderful organization! :cloud9:

What a sweet story for Nico _ I hope he gets his fill of sun and sand!

Safely tucked in at Wilderness Lodge Villas. It was a VERY fun cruise - and WOW, the FE gifts were super! LOVELY hand mades - book marks, a kitchen towel, potholder, plus the sweets, hand washes, etc. and a very useful firstaid kit!
My whole group, including the first timers, rebooked on board :)
SO sorry I could not find the room number of the couple celebrating their 50th - I forgot where I wrote it down. DID find some very clever doors - must have been dis-ers, just not on the fe list.
SO many nice people. Can't wait to do it again.

Back home and still feeling the sway of the ship!
Re-booked online loved every part of the cruise especially PALO! Guest services was a little lacking but every other CM was spot on! Service was great and our server was amazing.
BTW: anyone notice the last night we went through a storm? Ship was rocking like crazy!
Hope everyone has a safe journey back.

First night and last night are always a little rough because of crossing the gulf stream, but I guess the last night we had a pretty good cross wind too. Too bad! I slept through it, and missed all the excitement.
HDG, why did you rebook on line? Doesn't you miss the 10% discount and the on board credit by not booking on board?

We had a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful time. Did I mention it was wonderful? Everything from the food to the service to our room was top notch. On the way home we were discussing how hard it would be to choose between the parks and cruises.
We did notice the rough seas on the last night. Made for some wobbly legs yesterday! We tried to visit Downtown Disney before heading to the airport and we didn't make it far with our wobbly legs and heads. Unfortunately, our flight to Minneapolis was super delayed and we ended up spending about 10 hours at the Orlando airport... yuck.

First ever cruise in our lives and all we can say is WOW!!!!! AMAZING!!!!.
We're so sorry we didn't make it to the meet and greet, but we were so overwhelmed with taking in everything on the ship that the time had slipped by before we knew it.
The relatives that we sailed with have been on other cruises and they were very impressed with the way that Disney does things.
We decided to spend Saturday after the cruise at the Magic Kingdom, and spent most of our time there talking about the cruise.
All I can say is "Thank you Disney" for making this one of the best vacations we have ever had. Things went so smoothly from the time we boarded the plane in Canada, until the time we returned home.
DW and DD both found the last night at sea a bit rough, but it's all part of the experience, and I told them just to think of it as a new Disney ride.
DW is still trying to find her land legs. :rotfl:

So am I. We went to Epcot on Saturday and couldn't make it to the fireworks. Friday night was a killer. I almost felt like I was on a roller coaster. I miss my room steward and servers. The cruise was awesome.

Just wanted to say thanks to all who participated in the FE.
Boy did we luck out with the weather. Hated to go back to work, but how else do you pay for another vacation.

What a great cruise with a wonderful group of people!! :goodvibes We got to go to the Dolphin and visit with my sister and her family!! I've had a severe headache since I got back to New Jersey!! :headache: I think it's time to go back on the ship and get rid of it!! Expensive remedy, but I'll go to the doctor and get a prescription to say I need to go back on a cruise and get my insurance to pay for it!! :lmao:
Well, off to WDW next year and then DCL in 2013!! :cool1:
Thank you all for the wonderful FE gifts!! This was our first time doing it and we have better plans for the next cruise already!!! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I am so missing the lunch buffets lol. Back to plain sandwiches and corn dogs :rotfl2: I was not involved in the FE or did not go to the meet and greet. We were a group of 10 and it was all of our first cruise ever. We were very overwhelmed as it was without adding the extras lol. I did decorate my doors though and had a Mickey board hung on the outside of it (5129 and 5131) . Someone must of figured out I was a from this board because they left me a note saying so. Thanks for whoever left the note it made me smile! Next time I think I will be more comfortable joining in with you guys now I kind of know what I am doing. All of us booked a dummy cruise while on board. And that boat was rocking that last night! I took my kids in the gift shop late that night and I could hardly stand without wobbling. I felt like I had to many drinks without drinking anything lol. Getting back to the room was a pretty funny site though! We had Vetor and Toto as our servers and they were great! We were impressed with just about it all!

We had Sepho & Alexi. It was only Alexi's second week on the ship. I will say they were willing and eager to please - there were just a few hiccups along the way. It was our Stateroom host who was truly exceptional - Raymund from Philippines.

We had Raymund also (we were in 7058) and I swear that guy works 20 hours a day! I'd get up at the crack of dawn and see him and again before going to bed late. He did a great job magically cleaning in our room when we were gone, no matter how small the window of time. I wonder how many rooms each person has?

We had Susana and Widi as our servers, and Yan as our stateroom host. When we came home my son said, he wished he had tried to pack them in his suitecase :rotfl2:

What a great cruise!!! I had such great time and it was so much fun to check the FE to see what was left! The red bags were the best ....I think our entire group used theirs for the day trips! :)
The last night was NOT enjoyable at all! :scared1: It was like a never ending roller coaster...unfortunately it made me think twice about booking another cruise. I'm sure in time I'll forget about it and book another! ;)
Our servers were Slaven & I Katut who were amazing! They had to deal with a table of 6 women and were very attentive! :thumbsup2

Look on the threads for upcomming cruises and ask someone on one of those threads if they will get them for you and you'll send them the cost and postage!! Or possibly contact DCL and see if they have a suggestion!!

Ebay is expensive? Mybe individual collectors items. Try Searching "disney pin lots" lots = groups of pins. you don't get to choose which pins, but they're generally very good value. make sure they say all genuine Disney pins.
Did anyone open that cute first aid kit yet? I did, this morning and was surprised all over again - with MICKEY BAND AIDS!
