VGC webcast prizes

Hi guys,

I'm a lurker who has learned a lot about DVC on the DIS. (Still on the fence about buying, though.)

I wanted to know if anyone on the boards won (and has since received) any of the prizes awarded during last month's webcasts. I heard my name announced as an RCI certificate winner, but haven't been contacted by DVC yet. Is two weeks too soon to expect some notification?

I called the Florida offices to confirm, but no one has called me back yet. Is DVC usually responsive to phone requests?

Let us know when you get your prize. I am just happy to hear from someone who actually won something. I am often skeptical about drawings like this and am glad to hear that it isn't rigged...

I'm skeptical about these contests, too. I think that's why I'm a little nervous about the lack of follow-up by DVC.

We had several Dis posters as winners of the Doorway to Dreams one year anniversary prizes a year ago. I was one of them and won a 5 night DVC stay for my family of 4.

We were contacted by a travel department of Disney who made the arrangements. I would wait a couple of weeks. If nothing arrives, then you can call into Member Services, Joan and Dave were the hosts of the webcast, but I am sure there is someone there who can provide you further details.

I'm still waiting to be contacted about the prize I won from one of the VGC webcasts as well. At least I think I won a prize -- it's possible somebody else attended who lives in the same town as me with the same first name and last initial. Before I spend huge amounts of time on the phone trying to track down the person with the answer, has anybody already figured out who specifcally I need to contact and at what phone number or email address?

I received an email Oct. 12 letting me know I had won the RCI week and that I'd be getting the certificate and redemption information in about a week. I'm still waiting for it, but at least I know I wasn't hallucinating when I thought I heard my name called.

The person who sent the email was Trisha Jorgensen in event marketing. As far as I know, she's based in the Florida office. (I hope I was allowed to give her name.)
