Well a thread on this board has got me thinking. Is there some kind of Jail on board, for if someone does get too drunk or out of control? On our last two cruises we have never noticed any type of aggressive behavior but with 3000 people on board I was wondering - are there disney cops watching out for our safety. like undercover ones ( I never saw any security)

According to my husband who went to a Q & A with the officers, there is a jail on the ship however, it is currently used as a stock room. I guess if they needed it they would empty it out.

No need to empty the stock room, they can just throw them overboard. :D

There is security on the ship, they just blend in.

The only really serious behaviour incident that I've heard about that the captain had to get involved was with the 14 year old that jumped off the stern while in port on a dare. He was confined to quarters by the captain for the remainder of the cruise. He was very lucky that he and the rest of his party weren't simply sent packing off the ship.

There was teenager confined to his room on our last cruise (6/1/02). He had gotten some liquor and gotten very drunk. When the CM tired to get him to his room he slugged the CM. He was not even traveling with his parents but with a friends family. He spent the night in the infirmary getting rid of all the liquor (had to have his stomach pumped I believe) and then was confined to the cabin. They did let him out on Castaway Cay but he had to be accompanied by one of the adults in his party everywhere including the bathroom. I think he got the alcohol somewhere on St. Maarten? We just happened to find out because the family eating with us had a teenager and he was there for the "fray". So security is there.

We were on that cruise where the teenager jumped off the ship. It was 7/7/01. It was the talk of the ship, also the medical emergency that got us back to PC very late on Saturday.

Anyway, on our last cruise 2/23/02, the man in the cabin across the hall from us was threatening a female guest in his room. He was very drunk and very abusive and was yelling that he would kill her. She came screaming and running out of the cabin and begged my DD18 (wo looked out to see the commotion) to call secruity. My DD immediatey took the woman (and the guys son) in our cabin and called security. Four secruity guards and 2 ship officers came down immediately. They made the guy leave his cabin and put him somewhere else for the remainder of the cruise. We had seen this guy drunk all week and it finally escalated into this horrible scene that his 4 year old witnessed.

MJ-

That's really scarey! I'm glad that they responded so quickly though!

I think they shoulda used the guy for fish bait.

Valerie3kids,
We were on the 6/1 cruise and saw them taking the boy to the infirmary. Now we know what happened!
