I saw this story this morning. Why do prices drop on things so soon after I buy them? And it has been more than 30 days so I can't get the price decrease. At least my friends outside of the US can get Kindles now. You will LOVE it.

I saw that first thing this morning too....to think I was salivating when it dropped to $299 - I'm practically rabid at this point! Wondering whether we might see another drop just before or after Christmas??? I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they regret buying one.

This happened to me with the first price drop from $349 to $299.
I just missed being eligible.
OMG. That is the best news ever!!!! I didn't see it announced, thanks so much for posting Kevin. You are the best!
This is what I get for being a "good husband." I bought DW's Kindle for her birthday but gave it to her early. If I had only waited until her birthday . . . .

If your purchase was with in the last 30 days, call Amazon.
They will provide you with a refund.
If you are outside of the 30 day window....well....you are a good husband.
You are right, being a good husband is worth a lot more than $50.

To the folks in Canada...
I'm sorry for the false alarm.
I read the article this morning and assumed that Canada was included in "over 100 countries".

This is awesome. I was sort of hoping for a KindleDX price drop, too. I wonder if that one is going to wither away on the vine? Also, rumors are getting strong for the Apple "tablet" which is supposed to revamp the way we look at reading/media. Wonder if this is a premptory strike?
We love our Kindle. :)

We never get included with the other countries. We're the Rudolph of countries. Nobody ever wants us to play their games but when the snow comes they come crawling back for help. We also have a large percentage of red noses because of our Canadian beer and whiskey.

I take you still are a fan of the Kindle Kevin?
I offered to buy my wife one as she uses the Kindle Iphone App, but she says she doesn't think she would use it as much as her Iphone.
It has got to be easier to read IMHO

That's what I am hoping for.:)
It is crazy that it is available in the Conga but not in Canada!! We Canadians know it is the stupid CRTC that is messing it up even if Amazon is not saying it!!!! I am sure if it ever gets here it will have to offer us a minimum Canadian content.
