Hi, thinking of booking Davy Crocket with Expedia including the free food. There will be six of us Me, DH, DS18 and friend 18, DS11 and DD9, Expedia child age is up to 18 years of which there will be two 18 year olds. I don’t think child meals will be enough for these big lads. I could put them down as adults, the price is the same but do you think Expedia or the hotel will have a problem with this?
I know that some have had problems getting the confirmation of free food so I was going to phone my booking. Has anyone booked on the internet and not had problems? I would prefer to book via Quidco and get cash back if possible.
Lastly we have never had the food option before how do you normally get the vouchers is it on check-in and do you all have to be present for them to check your party size.
This booking is for Feb but also going in a few weeks, would have liked to cancel and rebook to get the free food but not possible as Travel Republic will charge us.
Thank-you for you advice.

I don't think you need to worry about the childs food vouchers for the 18 year olds in your party. This is because, its Disney dining's food vouchers, not Expedia's, and from the age of 12 you're classed as an adult at Disney. So your 18-year olds will get adult meal vouchers.
I phoned to book the free dining plan with Expedia, I haven't yet seen anyone on these boards manage to book online and not have to follow it up at least once to get the free dining plan note added to their booking confirmation (it just doesn't come up at all on online bookings).
You'll get your dining vouchers when you check in at your hotel. You don't all have to be there at check-in to get your vouchers, but remember to take all your passports etc with you when you check in.

Hi, just to let you know that I booked mine on the phone yesterday
I spoke to Ralph. As expected dinning confirmation was not on the booking voucher. He said I had to email him with my reference and he would send a confirmation email back within 3 hours. Five hours later still no email. I emailed again and got this reply,
> > Dear Customer,
> >
> > Thank you for contacting Expedia.co.uk regarding your booking.
> >
> > We can see that the hotel on itinerary number XXXXX includes breakfast. I cannot transfer the email to Ralph as we think he works in a different office. If there is anything else we can help with please do not hesitate to contact us.

This was late last night. I then sent another email (tired and upset) asking for my request to be put to someone who knows something about their system to confirm my Free dinning or I would cancel. I got this email this morning
Hi
>
> I have checked your booking and yes it includes the free dinning offer. When you arrive at your hotel you will be given an information pack and an envelope with your dinning vouchers. To see what restaurants are included in the free dinning please log on to the Disney website and this will give you all the information.

I am hoping this will be OK; did anyone get anything different or more official?
It looks like you need to ask for Sarah.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Shelly. Have you got a direct email to contact Sarah at Expedia?

I don't think this is direct for Sarah but I used travel@support.expedia.co.uk
I would put for Attn of Sarah and hopefully she will get it.
Hope this helps

Shelly I think if you take that email from Sarah, along with your booking confirmation, when you check into your Disney hotel it will work out fine :).

Sigh. I sent an email to Sarah, but someone named Ian replied. This is what he said:
Thank you for contacting Expedia.co.uk regarding your proposed booking. I can confirm to you that unfortunately free dining is not included on these dates. The breakfast does come complimentary as standard with this hotel. If you would like some assistance making this booking please call us and we will be more than happy to help. We're available 24 hours on 0871 226 0808 (Calls charged at 10 pence per minute BT rate. Charges may vary from other networks.) or from outside the UK on +44 2030248211 (usual costs apply). Thank you for using Expedia.co.uk and I hope this information helps.
Well no, it doesn't help!! I sent one back with the information pasted in from their own website:

I feel very frustrated and I'm not really sure where to go from here. Help!
Edited to add: nothing is mentioned about the free dining when I look at the flight-inclusive trips, however it comes up for hotel-only bookings- I sent a screen-shot of this info to Expedia too, so hopefully they will get back to me with a satisfatory response!

Hope you get it sorted. I also sent screen shots. The only disney one i could get was Davy Crocket (never been here before and a bit worried about the cold in Feb.) when I put my dates in I didn't get the offer so I made two bookings 2nights and 3 nights then got the offer with the free dinning for all 5 nights. I paid £137 per night for 6 of us with free dinning. I also used this offer to get another £20.00 off.

You could always book on the phone then the say you will cancel if you don't get the confirmation for free dinning ( you don't get charged when you cancel) this worked for me after a few emails.
Let us know if you get sorted. :thumbsup2

Thanks for making me feel a bit better Shelly, I wasn't aware that Expedia don't charge you if you cancel so that line will be useful to throw at them if things get awkward! Thank you for the offer link too, much appreciated. :) I'll let you know how it all pans out!

Ok, an update: we booked last night (yay!), after a few emails had been exchanged with Expedia. We wanted to stay at the Cheyenne and they told me that the promotion is only available with the Buffalo and Rio Grande rooms, so we ended up booking a Buffalo room at an extra cost. Actually, thanks to your code Shelly, we got it for the same price as a standard room. :) Here's hoping that everything goes swimmingly when we get there! I'll obviously print out Expedia's confirmation just in case.
