I don't exactly "love" the woman we are talking to now. She is pretty blunt and at times kinda rude in my opinion. Can you recommend someone really great?

Also, I was thinking going resale, but I have my heart set on BLT and there are none available now. Has anyone purchased a resale at BLT?

Bernard Lebeaupin. :worship: He was really great! Gave us our time and space to decide what was best for us. Was there with the answers when we needed him too. We are so glad that we had him as our guide.

We had Derek DeBoer. He was fantastic and let us asked LOTs (and I mean LOTS) of questions. We never felt any pressure.

We love, love, love our guide - Nick Cotton.

As for BLT on the resale market - it's likely that given purchase incentives you can get a better deal buying directly through Disney.

I won't post the name, but we've had gross inaccuracies and poor service from one of the guides mentioned above.

Byron Helgerson. He's been very good- doesn't bother us inbetween but is there in a wink when I inquire about doing an add on.

Whoever you pick or if you get someone new randomly, I agree with you that you should end the relationship with your current DVC agent immediately. There's no reason for rudeness and/or pressure. If you're not comfortable with her, end it now.

I highly recommend Brad Smith. He spent over 3 hours with us answering all of our questions. He was really informative, no pressure, and so nice. He's also really quick at returning calls and emails! :thumbsup2

We love Todd Bearden!! I was on the phone with him so long and so often asking questions before our purchase, that my DH started calling him my "disney boyfriend". No pressure and very nice.

I don't exactly "love" the woman we are talking to now. She's a timeshare salesman. What do you expect?

Even a "great" timeshare salesmen (whatever that is) is, well, a timeshare salesmen. The less time talking to them the better if you ask me. Get your information from a message board, rather than somebody whose job is to convince you to buy a timeshare from Disney.

Our guide is Tim Grabman and I can't recommend him highly enough...he views his job as a combination of "teaching" and "service"...he's responsive (I've done five transactions with him--the original sale and four add-on's) and always leaves me feeling like he has my best interests in mind (because, he will frankly admit, I will be a happier buyer if I buy when and what's right for me, and that will make him a better-performing sales person)...

He's completely terrific. He'll work with you on process (e.g., calling when the time is good for you, regardless of whether it's convenient for him); he'll help you figure your points needs (in my original purchase, when I was all confused about what I wanted, when & how, he recommended I just do the minimum buy-in, pointing out I could always easily add on...and he was right in pinpointing my comfort level)...he'll also help you figure out payment (because of his help, I wound up w/lots of Disney Dollars by making maximum use of my credit card (which I repaid w/the cash I'd have used for the purchase).

Long story long: He's WONDERFUL!

I really like my guide, Paul Kuhn. He is no pressure and he tells you pretty much exactly like it is. That was very fortunate for me because I was an easy sell - I really wanted DVC and he made sure I knew exactly what I was getting into. He even said most people do not buy during the tour, but go home and think about it. That's how non-pressure he was. He really wants you to be sure. He usually works Thurs - Sunday. I did not know about the DISboards at that time, so he was my only source of info. I was lucky. He told me to split my contract into smaller chunks so they could be sold easier. And many other things. He was very patient to try to explain to me all the rules of the program and the financial aspects and maintenance fees. Since then I have done a couple of add-ons and he has been great with those too. Unbelievably great.

Now all of the guides are going to tow the company line, so they shouldn't be your only source of info. For example they all are going to say DVC is great for doing cruises and trading into RCI, which as many have said is not your best use of points. Fortunately for me this was not a real draw so I did not have any disappointments.

I would recommend that you change guides. There really is no need for pressure, DVC sells itself with most people.

Our first Guide was Marshall Sutton, but he passed away. now we have Sharod Kelley- who has worked on Orlando, Chicago DTD and now at the NY DTD, where I met him last weekend. He is very friendly, patient and easy to work with. We are happy with him so far!

No pressure whatsoever and was extremely patient with all our
redundant questions. No miscommunications at all, got everything we where promised...when we went this past Feb we even got a 2008 ornament
that they gave out at xmas, wife was so happy!!! We took the tour again in Feb with my brother and sister-inlaw and he gave us all gift cards as well.
He gets 2 thumbs -up from us.

I was "lucky" enough to have one of those guides. She talked circles around me and promoted the cruises and other trades. She never mentioned splitting up the contract. I wish I had found the DISboards back then -- I would have been so much smarter! Luckily, this guide has left the company and now I have a really nice new one who has walked me through several add-ons. Her name is Jeanine Koski. She is also a DVC owner (as I guess most member guides are).

Another :thumbsup2 for Glen. Seven years ago, he led me (yes, just me) on a solo DVC tour. DH was home, cat-sitting and I mostly went on the tour because it was something fun to do that day. A married woman taking the DVC without her spouse-I mean, how serious can she really be? Yet, Glen treated me with the utmost respect, answered all my questions, and loaded me up with video tape, book, papers, more papers, etc. to bring back to DH. Since we bought a month later, it paid off!

We have Jim McCoy and he is great! Never any pressure, let us take our time & we took a lot of time, answered all our questions, returned calls quickly, always friendly and polite. I see some people saying guides will tell you DVC is great for cruises & RCI, Jim actually told us while we can do this, you get the most from your points by using for DVC stays. I know he his a salesperson, but I found him to be honest and helpful. You should have a guide you enjoy dealing with. Good luck!
