I have read that there are teacher rates at the Swan and Dolphin. I keep reading 129. I was wondering if that rate applies to retired teachers. My mother taught most of her life and is now enjoying her retirement. When they go, they might actually love to stay at an Epcot resort, but they won't pay an arm and a leg to do it.

My dm is a retired state employee. I emailed them and was told that she would qualify for the government discount!

What is the discount exactly? Is it only for a certain period of time? Anyone know the details, or where I can find some information?? Thank you!!

You can check the Swan/Dolphin FAQ by Glo (near the top of the resort board) for info including a list of the dates that the teacher/nurse/govt rate if offered. It is currently $129 plus the taxes and $8 resort fee. I was asked last week upon checkin for proof of eligibility for the govt rate, I have a State of NH employee ID card which I used, but I think a pay stub or letter from your employer will suffice. I would assume that a teacher's pension ID would suffice for a retired teacher, BUT the best thing to do is ask when you make the reservation as to qualification and what will be required for ID, then note who told you what and when!

Gee, do you think that homeschool teachers qualify? (But then I'd have to give up staying at ASMu again!)
