Wish I could join you, Dan. I had originally planned a trip for 12/4-12/12. However, where I work (small rural hospital), we had our first layoffs since I've been there (20 yrs). Although our department wasn't affected, it made think that perhaps I better build up that emergency reserve a little bit higher than it is. :(
Bummed me out, too, as I was there same time last year and had a great time solo.
I hope to get down there in Apr/May 2010, though.
Have fun anyways. If you get time, post a trip report when you get home. I'm curious as to how Space Mtn has changed and anything new to report.

I'm not sure of the name of loop 1500, never pay attention until I get there, but it is on the maps posted on this site. It is a small loop as described on other postings on this board and directly across the street from the Meadows Pool. Comfort station seems to get a bit busy since it is shared with loop 1600, and I found if you are at the front of the loop you hear Disney buses from early morning to late night and it gets kinda bright from the lights on the Meadows.

I just checked the FW map and 1500 is Cottontail Curl! We had so much fun camping there!:goodvibes We took flashlights at night and went hunting for armadillos!:)

Me Dan !!:yay: I am booked for my first solo trip to the World ( Happy Place)
I will be at CSR Dec 1 thru 8th. The only thing I have booked is the backcountry Segway tour, which I will follow with lunch at the buffet at Fort Wilderness. Other than that I am a free spirit, not tied to any ADR's, though I would love to try the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues on the Sunday.
I am a little alarmed at the way everything is fully booked that week, but I got so excited to get a cheap airfare I was swept up in the Disney moment !
I will try Yeehaa Bob at POLFQ and maybe the Christmas Party at MK.

Long time lurker as well, but first time poster. My wife and I are headed out for a much needed vacation Dec 4-12. Since we don't have kids, we're used to enjoying the parks on our own, but last year we did decide to take my 10 year old bil for his first trip.

I have a new purse for this trip, an olive green, over the shoulder one. I am ironing a bit lime green Mickey head on it. As usual, I am hard to miss. :rotfl: BTW, I no longer wear glasses. I am a bit smaller as well.

Dan, having a child changes your world. I was tickled to get a picture of Elaine's baby boy for Christmas a couple of years ago. It sounds as if they are happy and I could want nothing more. When he gets a bit bigger we may all meet at DW again. :love:

Off to read to my adopted grandkids, all 30-40 of them. They are my favorites as I do not have to buy them Christmas presents or change their diapers. :cool1:

I will be at WDW 12/7 - 12/11 staying at OKW. I have gone solo pretty much since 2001. I always enjoy talking with other folks while I am at WDW and never mind going solo.

Don't post much but try to keep up to date. I plan to spend the month of February in Orlando and will be researching a long term rental while I am there.

I live in Indpls - SG where do you live in Indiana? I am single female with a son that lives in Chicago.

I love WDW and generally go 3/4 times a year since becoming a DVC member.

Slightly Goofy

I had a great trip - didn't see any dis-ers. Talked with four families from Pennsylvania and others. Enjoyed watching the kids reaction to everything. SG - LOL - I think you are the only one that has picked up on the name. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and Audrey Hepburn are favorites of mine. I'll be at WDW the month of February. Looking forward to it!

HGLightlyj, I adore old movies so I know most of them. Biggest favorites are musicals. I love sitting and getting to know new folks at DW as well as visiting with old friends. It is my favorite part of DW. Folks tend to be a whole lot more comfortable talking to strangers there as we know we have at least one thing in common, The Mouse!

Came home with a stack of email addresses. That should keep me busy and out of trouble, for awhile.
