Trying to figure out if it would be worth it to buy one annual pass for the discounts. If there is a room only discount for annual pass holders, how much would it be (historically?) Would it be more than they may offer for non passholders, or the same, but just released earlier?

I am wondering what the discount is as well. When we go to Disneyland we purchase the AP's as the discounts pay for the passes and we save more with the hotel dicounts and dining and murchandise.

I've purchased APs in the past (for WDW--I don't know about DL) and gotten excellent room-only discounts.

However, I'm getting the exact same rate as the AP rate for our upcoming trip in December--without an AP. There was a PIN code attached to my DH's name and it was a terrific discount. Even without the PIN code, the current room-only discount at WDW for Nov and Dec was not too bad, although somewhat less than the AP rate.

You don't have to buy the AP in advance, i.e., they don't ask you for your AP number when you book over the phone, so you don't have to buy the AP and hope you made the right decision.

You don't say what your travel dates are or how long you're going to stay. A lot depends on that, too. Also, if you plan to go back within the year, that factors into your decision, too, since admission media is not inexpensive!

And, with the 4/3 discount out, that is often a better deal--depending on your length of stay--than buying an AP and getting a room-only discount.

Confusing? Yes! :goodvibes

Wait. I see from your ticker you're going in January. There's a 4/3 discount out for January that's probably better than any AP rate you could get for the same period. Check the Disney website on the 4/3 link.

Typically the passholder rate is the lowest available.

To give you an idea, before tax, a standard view at the WL or AKL this weeekend, with no discount would be $290/night. Passholders pay $169.

In august/Sept, that can get as low as $139/night...

It depends on how many rooms/kids you need, etc...

if you are out of state, you have to figure that anything less than a & day trip wpuldn't make sense...

Watch out for Friday and Saturday nights. When we were there in March of this year APholders were blacked-out on Fri and Sat. We were stuck paying rack rate for the weekend. :sad2:

Any idea when AP discounts will be announced (if any) for March?

Thanks for the info.
We usually stay for 8-10 days so thats why it makes since for us to get AP's at DL thats why I was wondering about DW AP's. The DL AP's pay for themselfs with the discounts on merch. dinning and Hotel. We usually stay at DLH or GCH C level at DL. What hotels are similar in acomadations at DW?

We are going the the 4/3 deal and then upgrading our park tickets that come with it to Ap's once we get in the park.
