Hello all! Taking our first disney cruise soon. we are a family of 4 Luis & Marti and children Matthew 4 &3/4 and Audrey 2&3/4 with grandparents celebrating their 55th anniv and pappap's 80th! So new to everything... so forgive me for any ignorance on this thread, but would love to get our family involved and meet other disney fans. We are located in south florida. Can the leader of this cruise FE group reply and let us know if we can get in on the fun! Any advise too for 1st time cruisers would be greatly appreciated.
marti & luis
Welcome Marti, Luis and Family! Does DCL know about the 55th anniversary and 80th birthday? If not, contact DCL and these two special events will be noted on the reservation.

Hi Everyone!!!
I just want to see if someone can double check me. The FE list says that there are 13 staterooms and 36 cruisers. I counted 36 Adults but then kids changes the game. I am counting 61 total cruisers and alot more than 13 staterooms. I would feel really bad if I didn't get enough stuff. Can someone else count also? Thanks so much.

I get 20 total staterooms, and 61 total cruisers. I will have to ask DH about that. However, we haven't heard from some DISers since the beginning of the thread (Lilo's Mom, Angiengary, & snugglepeas/KilleriMac17), so I am wondering about them and whether they are still even booked on this cruise!

Your count is close if not correct. Jodi has her own FE so there will be 2 at our room.

Hi everyone,
I too am on this boat with you all! Although I'm not into the FEs and meets, I wanted to let you all know I exist. I took this same western cruise two years ago and am still excited to be back. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
For those who worried about a possible sewer smell, this ship is nowhere near full. So if you have issues, be vocal and get your room changed
I booked the special VGT option (and still havent gotten my room assignment yet) and was looking online at what rooms might still be available. I could find over 20 verandah rooms open.
See you all in a few weeks

Hi Fellow Cruisers! :wave2:
We are so excited we're so close to vacation! This will be our first 7 night. DH and I are looking at a couple of cruise excursions that are non-Disney, and we're wondering how the timing works out. The times we have been given by the tour operators are local time, I think are docking time I got from the TA is ship time. I'm not sure how different that is, can anyone help us figure out if this will work?
The Grand Cayman excursion is 10:30 am local time, approximately 2 1/2 hrs
The Cozumel excursion we are looking at is 11am - 1pm
Thanks in advance! :flower3:

I sent PMs to snugglepeas/KilleriMac17, Angiengary, Lilo's Mom, and marticaj to check and see if they are still sailing with us and asked for their stateroom numbers.
Well, I did some DIS detective work......
Angiengary hasn't been active since Oct 2010 on this thread only - no where else on the DIS.....
Lilo's Mom lost her DH Bob last year.....(very sad - I stumbled on the memorial thread), so I would hazard a guess that she may not be going....
snugglepeas/KilleriMac17 are a toss up
I would say that if we don't hear back from them in the next few days (maybe Monday??), that it's safe to remove them from the FE list, since even if they were cruising, we wouldn't know where to deliver their FE gifts to!!

THanks for updating the FE Scott. I appreciate it. Starting to get everything together and needed a count of adults, boys, girls...you know. Anyway another quick question about the FE... do we indicate somewhere who it is from? Like a label or something? Or does it remain anonymous?

Suggestions: You can wait to buy a camera on ship and save taxes and get a really nice one, IF you need a camera before than I've personally found some really nice Cannon and Kodak ones for reasonable.
As for FE's You could do a canvas bag and hang that from Fish or if crafty isn't your thing there is a diser who makes/sells on ebay who really does a nice job and can personalize them, like Jodi's is all pluto, Our's is 100 acre wood crew.

Are you looking to buy a P&S or a DSLR? You can order from a reputable online camera store like B&H or Adorama and not pay tax.

By the way, if any of you are planning on just walking around in Key West, or thinking about some museums, go to www.trustedtours.com and you can get some savings! We bought a package deal with the Butterfly House & the Hemingway house, and it saved us over $5/adult vs. buying the tickets at the door.

Is anyone out there feel like they are really earning their vacation??? because I am really working my but off at the office and will be so ready to escape for a week!!! and no cooking and cleaning for a week!
To those out there with little ones just wondering if you are planning on bringing a small stroller??? For us it would be helpful on excursions to explore, but otherwise we probably wouldn't use it much on the ship- any advise from other parents????

Before every cruise, I do feel as if I earned that vacation! Yesterday was a crazy, hectic day at work -- I got through the day by saying 2 weeks from Friday, I'll be flying to Orlando. Also, there was a full moon yesterday.........
No cooking, cleaning, napkins placed on our laps, CMs asking if there's anything they can do for us, sunny skies, 7 days on the beautiful Magic ..... It'll be a great 7 days!

Precruise planning is so addicting. Postcruise memories are addicting, as well.
Can't wait to get to the Cove Cafe on Saturday. It's one of my hangouts, especially in the morning.
Carla and I also like the Rainforest and plan to go there on our 2 sea days. DH Dave can be found at the adult pool on sea days.

Great, Cindy! I love the great views of Florida coast at Palo as we are heading to Key West on Sunday morning. DH Dave's favorite Palo server, Annie Marie, is on the Dream. He'll get over it as our Palo server on this upcoming cruise gives us the "tour" at brunch.

Two weeks from today!!!!! :dance3: Hope I'm sleeping at 2am on October 1 so I can be alert - especially after dinner.
Just got a reduction on a rental car from MCO to port. Rechecked price and am shaving $18 off rental of a mid-size car, will now pay $30. I have had great luck with Travelocity. Checked on rental car prices for 10/8 but no price reduction.

Allison, that is funny! My DH Dave is always "lost" on the ship! He can be found in the adult pool most sea days. There are days that I don't see him unless I go by the pool. Every morning, he'll ask which restaurant is on our schedule so he knows where to appear. We're aren't always together on the ship, but, hey, it's both our vacations.
Carla and I are "testing" DH Dave for this cruise. She and I have been on two girls' cruises and by October 8, we'll decide whether he can cruise with us again!

Hi Jan !
I don't think we have a private room but not sure. Will have to ask my friend who booked everything. And yes....we LOVE Vero Beach ! Try to get there every year. My daughter goes to college in FL --first FL Tech and now FSU. And my uncle lives 10 min away from the Vero Beach resort.
Kidani is one of our favs too----stayed there twice this year. Going to be staying at Bay Lake Tower for 3 nights before our cruise and then also the night we disembark.
I am just so excited for this cruise (though I'll miss my kids being with us !).

Does anyone know if they sell lanyards on the ship with pins on them. I started to order my grandson one from the Disney Store but, wanted one from the cruise ship if they have them.

I think they do, but not 100% sure. Last year when cruising on the Wonder with 4 grankids, the lanyard pins were the big hit for them. They got this granny to buy a few of them for them.

I will miss my grandkids not cruising with us. We have 6 of them, between the ages of 9 and 5. They are repeat DCL cruisers.....
Carla and I share two grandkids - Haley and Bella - their mom is my daughter, their dad is Carla's son. Last cruise for Haley and Bella was the westbound TA last September - they remind me often that they've been on a longer cruise than I have......

Sorry we'll both be missing our kids/grandkids. My kids are 18, 21 & 24. All in college now. Those professors are very strict about missing classes so sadly they can't come. The two younger girls in particular are so disappointed they can't come with us !
By the way....we have early dining.....I can't remember what time we'll be off the ship ? Our last two cruises we had late dining. I'm guessing 8:30 am ish ?

We usually have early dining, so on the last morning, when we are done with breakfast and said our goodbyes to our servers, we take a seat in the Promenade Lounge. One way of prolonging our cruise. We usually walk off the ship by 8:15 am. this was the time frame for our Wonder cruise last November and we were in our rental car by 9am.
Our kids are 40, 38, 37 - yeah, we're oldsters.

For us Spartan fans, sorry we had a disappointing loss to ND yesterday. By the way, I took something off my bucket list. I tailgaited at the MSU-Florida Atlantic game last week! Here I am at 60 years of age and never tailgaited. Sheltered life! And I tailgaited with my daughter and 2 grandchildren. Had lots of fun watching them bounce on the inflatables, DGS won a $10 Meijer gift card at Radio Disney booth, getting MSU freebies, etc.

Funny you mention about cruising at our age. Since our very first cruise on a 4-day Magic in 1999, our energy level now isn't what it used to be. I need to take a nap in the afternoon on deck 4 to enjoy the evening activities! I am making a to-do list to participate in some activities I haven't done before - wine tasting is #1 on my list. :woohoo:

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)
Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196
In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).
If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Two weeks ago I triple checked with my husband that he had 2 weeks of vacation for this trip. He said "yes" His vacation weeks run Thursday to Thursday so you need 2 in order to take the cruise. So I found out today, just by accident that he only has 1 week of vacation for this trip. For those following along the story that means on Thursday the 6th while we are sailing from Cozumel to CC he needs to report for duty at 3pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am SOOOOOOOO irritated with him. Now he has to scramble to find people to switch days with. Does anyone know if "stupidity" is covered under travel insurance??

SO I am done with work until 10/14 WooHoo!!!!! Unfortunately it didn't end without drama. We lost one of our precious little patients yesterday. Sad little baby who had no family at the bedside when his time came.
As far as my DH work situation..... He is a Bridge and Tunnel officer so it's not easy to get off or cover shifts just bc of the high level of alert that NYC is on. BUT he is supposed to be off Sat and Sun so he only has to cover Thur and Fri. He is going to request paid holidays. The thing with that is that you don't find out until the day before if it has been granted. It will be hard to find that out while we are exploring the Mayan Ruins! So he says he has to talk to the boss of his facility. Hopefully it will work out. Otherwise I'm still going!!!!

Actually, it is cooling down! The highs in Tampa are 88-89 instead of the low 90s; but weather is different for everyone - it is beautiful to us :) In fact, our summer high was only 94 & our friends & family up north were roasting at 97+ heat index. Comical to us.....

Actually, it is cooling down! The highs in Tampa are 88-89 instead of the low 90s; but weather is different for everyone - it is beautiful to us :) In fact, our summer high was only 94 & our friends & family up north were roasting at 97+ heat index. Comical to us.....
I think it will be beautiful cruising weather vs. when we froze in January on the Magic!!!!
Carla and I were on the Magic (western) in January 2009 and froze! We wore jeans and sweatshirts at CC. Weather wasn't an issue for us, we were on the Magic for 7 days. :thumbsup2

You got it Jan ;) We actually anticipated that & it was fine - we prepared DD that she could play in the sand at CC, but that it would be to could for swimming. We were just happy to be on vacation!!!

You can catch the Dream sail out in a few hours.
Had the Port Canaveral webcam up on the computer next to me at work yesterday; watched 3 ships sail out, with the Dream bring the grand finale. I just love watching DCL ships float out - it never gets old!!!
Tonight is the last shift. :cheer2: Gonna be the longest night at work forever.
I will find out today if a PRN can cover my shift Wed. If so, then I am dome until Oct 12 :) If not, only 1 more shift!! Poor DH has to work M-F this week :(

Yay dapod423 ! Glad you finished work for awhile ! Are you a nurse ? Sounded like a sad way to go out ? I'm an L&D and high risk pregnancy RN. We also lost a baby last night. Always heartbreaking. I have tonight 3-11 shift and Tues 11 p-7 am shift. I get to come home on Wed, sleep for 3 hours, get up and leave for airport ! Fingers and toes crossed that his shifts get covered !!!!

So far so good. Philippe and Ophelia seem to be staying out in the Atlantic.
You would need to be on the starboard side. You can catch the Dream sail out in a few hours.
Great news on those pesky storms !!!! And thanks for the head's up. I'll be on starboard side !
On a side note.....I get sea sick but only on the first night. Going to try those scopalamine patches. Has anyone ever used them ? I'm a little leary.....having read some reviews about mental confusion and blurred vision that last for days even after you take it off ! Not sure what to do.

I think if you use the patch, you are suppose to put it on 24 hrs before you set sail. Personally, I wouldn't do it - especially with the possibility of it ruining your trip (mental confusion and blurred vision - yikes ). Is it worth it just for one night? I would do one of 2 things: try Sea Bands, &/or a dose of benedryl before bed on the first night. On our 1st 2 cruises, I got a little sea sick on the first night, but never threw up -- just went to bed early and was fine when I work up. Luckily, it hasn't happened since Aug 2010 :thumbsup2
Good luck with whatever you decide!!!

MiaSRN62- Yep I'm a pediatric nurse in NYC!! Always an adventure. Very rewarding but also can be very sad. I work 12 hour shifts, 10 shifts a month so when vacation time comes it's great. I took 2 weeks vacation for this trip but it strectches until alomost 3 weeks. I worked the 24th and I don't go back until the 14th of Oct!!!
As if I wasn't already excited I am starting to get REALLY excited!!!!!!!! Except that my darn dogs were fighting yesterday and I got bitten bad pulling them apart. I can't move my right index finger (which makes typing hard). Waiting to hear back from my DR office if they want to see me. It all swollen and taut. Could probably use some antibiotics. I don't want to need an amputation in Grand Cayman! :lmao:

I can relate dapod423....we get lots of sadness in L&D as well. People assume it's all happy and fun---but it can be exactly the opposite as I'm sure you know. I don't work 12's anymore like you and Silverfox do because I did it for 4-5 years and got tired of working 12-13 hrs straight with no break. I have to say 8.5 hrs straight with no break is bad enough. Are hospital is so understaffed and overworked. I work 2-3 eight hour shifts a week. Though this week I've worked 32 hours so far........
I do home your fingers gets better ! There will be no amputations on our cruise !

That's cool Silverfox. I wish you lots of luck on your exam !!! I took my In-patient OB certification in 2008. I studied my butt off for that for like 2 weeks ! GOOD LUCK ! I am so on-the-fence about the Scopalamine patch......I got SO sick last cruise. I slept the whole first day sleeping from Benadryl and Bonine. I literally didn't eat for 12 hours. Woke up at 3:30 AM and ordered a cheeseburger from room service. I'm so torn. But thanks for your suggestions. Wish me luck !

Sounds like we have everything from birth to old age covered on this cruise I am a RN with a trauma specialty in a busy inner city hospital. Glad to know there are nurses on board!
I take prednisone and Proair as I have sarcoid of the lung. But, strange thing, last May when we were at the DVC Vero Beach resort, I kept telling my DH and DD how great I felt. Got home and read on a sarcoid message board that sea air does wonders for lung sarcoid patients. Then got to thinking about all my other DCL cruises and remembered feeling so much better on board. Fatigue is a continual problem, but I felt so refreshed. So, now I need to get my lung doc to prescribe cruises, once a month. Think he'll go for it???!!!

you may want to request an antibiotic augmentin as it is the drug of choice for animial bites you must not have a penicillin allergy although, may be good preventative or to have available prn if infection arrises, but I think we have an er doc on board too, but getting an rx may be necessary through the ship doc??
finger pain when you have lots of packing to do.....ugh hope you feel better,
look forward to meeting everyone!

Thank you Marticaj!!! I went to the Dr last night because my finger was getting worse and that is exactly was she prescribed. It looks a little better this morning but it's still swollen and can't really move it. I'll be good by Saturday!!! Or I'll do an I&D myself!!! Just kidding (sort of)

Thanks! I think DH will make it down, so at least he'll know what everyone looks like and can introduce me if we run into any DISers on the ship!!
We are creatures of a routine and usually she sticks to her schedule just fine, as we just cruised last Aug and this January& got her nap everyday. On the day we arrive, we put her down as soon as we can get into rooms, and then she doesn't fall asleep right away, but eventually does. She doesn't get a long nap because has to be up for the muster drill, but even a short snooze is better than none at all. We almost always keep to a nap schedule when we can because she ends up going to bed later on vacation & a well-rested child is a happy one :thumbsup2 Then, happy child = happy parents :goodvibes I am not sure how we are going to work it on Key West, Grand Cayman, or Cozumel yet, but I am sure we'll figure it out!!
Actually, we couldn't believe that she was still napping, as she's 4 1/2, but she does..........

Time does fly. I tried to make it to the second meet, but by the time we finished with the laundry it was 3:15 and Diversions looked somewhat empty. So I searched headed up to the Cove Cafe until DD was up from her nap.

Thanks everyone for the all the Magical surprises in our first FE Exchange.
The kids really enjoyed it and it averted a few tantrums too!
We would love to cruise again but we are going to wait till the boys are older so we can enjoy some of the more adult activities.
I hope everyone had an excellent time, we sure did.

Love the FE gifts. My neices and nephew loved checking the extenders everythime we came back to the rooms.I hope no one needed their first aid kits. Had to laugh before the cruise when it was said that my room would be where the first aid kit would be since I had already assembled them:lmao: I know that none of our stuff got tagged with our name because I forgot to tag them prior to packing them and then left the tags at home. The first aid kits and glo swords were from wmurphy1 room the pic frames and wash clothes were from the Meckler Murphy Mcnally mix room and the dry erase board and puzzles were from the Meckler room. Hope all likes them.

Loved those first aid kits. Glad someone else did not tag their gifts either. Can you tell we are new? We did the napkins, night lights, GA football pez and my daughter came up with the little purses for the little girls. My daughter is the creative one.
Loved all of our gifts. So many creative people. And Scott and Silverfox- I started our journals.

We too used the first aid kid - funny thing, I always have our own first aid kit. DH told me he grabbed a band aid because he couldn't find ours :rotfl: Figures!!
Loved *all* of the FE gifts - DD went nuts over them; loves to check the FE. It was fun explaining Australia to her - where it is, what another country is, etc. Used the Little Mermaid sand molds at CC :beach:
Once Halloween is over, I'll do our trip report for this cruise. Have a certification exam next Thurs :scared1: and then I have 11 days to make DD's Sleeping Beauty costume!!!

Hi all ! Hope everyone had a blast on our cruise as I'm sure you did ! I am so sorry I did not make the meets. My dh and I were traveling with 3 other couples and my one friend booked us for Palo brunch, Palo High Tea, Tequila tasting, Bingo, Spa/Rainforest room....etc. Dh and I have not had a vacation without kids in the whole 25 years of our marriage so we wanted to run off and do all sorts of things we normally wouldn't/couldn't do such as Palo and Serenity Bay ! Had a blast !
Just posting a few photos from our trip and hope some of you will do the same. Who knows---we may have seen eachother on the ship and not realized it. I was in stateroom 2066.

Ok, DIS friends, who else is experiencing what I am this week - cruise withdrawal? My condition is worse than after past cruises. I love planning cruises but this post-cruise let down is getting me down......:confused3 I keep replaying clips of our cruise in my mind - Palo; dining room rotations; resting/reading on deck 4 lots of Cove Cafe coffee; the amazing CMs we talked to - old and new; walking around the beautiful ship; meeting some of you around the ship; being in grandkid withdrawal as I watched the kids and seeing their excitement; seeing the characters; hearing the ship's horn and the chime before announcements; napkins being placed on my lap 3 times a day!!!; our stateroom host keeping our room in perfect order all day with fresh towels, beds made and turned down, chocolate every night; the plays, especially Disney Dreams; the heated lounge chairs in the rainforest spa; massage; sitting/reading in Diversions next to a porthole and being about the only one in there; listening to piano music in Sessions; wandering through Treasure Ketch and Mickey Mates daily :cool1:; and our day on Castaway. And what a beautiful day it was last Friday.
Did anyone book another DCL cruise while on board? We booked a dummy date cruise for 12/1/12 on the Magic. Hopefully, the 2013 itineraries will be announced soon.
Again, it was great meeting all of you.

Oh Jan, we also are in post cruise vacation let down, the kids keep asking when we are going again and Mom is very blue. We really enjoyed ourselves with Mickey :lmao:on our 1st Disney cruise. What a way to celebrate with family... We THANK everyone for all the fun and thoughful gifts. It was such a high to come back a full fe!! Kids LOVED it, and so did my parents! Unfortunately it was a crazy last night before we left as Matthew got very sick but miraculously recovered in 24hrs (we almost weren't allowed on the ship:O), so We were the ones who left all our fe info at home so thank you Scott for getting the list eventually to us(just in time to deliver the sand molds for CC)! We were sad we didn't get to meet anyone, I kept trying to wear little fe gifts in hope someone would stop to say hello. We didn't book yet but plan to go again in 2 years when Audrey is older and will "want" to stay in the kid clubs as Matthew seemed to never want to leave Oceaner's Club or Lab....having some alone adult time in the cove would be nice, as I was envious of those hanging there. Again, we thank everyone, the dry erase board helped lots, the autograft books have been filled, tattoo, stickers and kid stuff all played with, first aide kit came in hand, glow sticks completed the outfit, beach ball added fun to CC, bath toys appreciated, love love love all the homemade items, and the cactus shot glasses are my new vitamin cups for the day!!! ANYTHING GOES...!!!!!!!!!!!
with love and prayers from your DIS friends from south florida

OK, I am not having cruise withdrawal this time, BUT, here's why I think why I am not: 1) This was our longest cruise; 7 nights gave us time to R-E-L-A-X (over our past 3 and 5-night cruises) & 2) We are cruising again in 4 months (in Feb.), so we don't have that long to wait before we'll be on board again :woohoo:
I've definitely had it before - in Aug 2010, we booked on board for this cruise. There was NO WAY we could wait 14 months to cruise again. Not even 48 hours after disembarking, we booked a cruise for Jan 2011, which was about 1/2 way in between the two. Then, after our Jan cruise, major cruise withdrawal again - we even had a pseudo-vacation in June - not the same. This cruise vacation was so needed in our house..........major reason: we have had house guests since mid-August (plus they had been here in June and July briefly as well)..........finally they moved out Oct 11th into their own place :thumbsup2
We already have 3 DCL cruises booked for 2012, as well as 2 dummy dates for Oct 2012 to move out to 2013 (provided DCL has some interesting itineraries for us.......). We seriously love a cruise vacation. So relaxing. People ask me if I am tired of cruising - yeah, right. Look at all of what Jan said above - yeah, I am tired of being waited on, tired of having a napkin placed in my lap, tired of having my bed turned down each night, etc. :rolleyes2

Wow and wow! I can understand your stress level!
Our next cruise is on the 6/20/12 Dream and last week we booked a dummy date which we'll move out to 2013. We're cruising on the Dream with my best friend and her 15 year old daughter, who is like my 7th grandchild. Lyssa has Down Syndrome and has cruised with us twice before on the Wonder. So, I know I'll cruise in about 8 months, but for some reason, this post-cruise week hit me hard. Just call me a sappy old lady!
We, too, love cruising. And, with Dave being a food-a-holic, it's cheaper for us to cruise for a week rather than pay separately for lodging, food, entertainment, etc. The onboard credit DCL gives to Platinums is a nice perk in addition to the onboard credit our TA gave us. Plus ...... I don't have to think or plan on a cruise, just look at the Navigator each day. :thumbsup2

A trip report is in the works. DW has her notes ready, but is waiting until after Halloween to write it up and I am just beginning to work on the photos taken during the cruise.
I did post a thread with all the cruise documents (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2814906) that I've slowly been updating.

Hi all!
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back and send my regards to everyone. Work was crazy last week and in a very back-to-reality moment, my wallet was pick-pocketed the day after I returned to New York. Luckily I'm okay and everything was replaceable.
But back to the Magic... WOW! We had the most amazing time and though we didn't get to meet many of you, it was SO much fun participating in the FE. The I (Mickey) NY bottle was a huge hit with my BF and the "emergency kit" sure came in handy after a silly incident stubbing my big toe on the bathroom door lip. Thank you all so much for your kind and creative gifts!! It was such a delight coming "home" to such wonderful surprises. And I hope your gifts didn't turn out too squished. I definitely learned *not* to pack the FE gifts quite to tightly in my luggage (or in paper bags for that matter) - a lesson for next time :)
As the Disney fanatic in the family, I was very surprised by how much my BF ended up loving the cruise and the Disney cruise experience specifically. So much in fact that we rebooked for the Fantasy for next year - just 330+ days to go!
Oh! and I'm slowly but surely working on trying to get a TR (my first!) together. My waterproof camera went missing in the unpacking process and I still need to sort through all those photos. Thanks so much Scott for all the wonderful cruise document uploads - it's definitely helping me keep things straight!

Hi Guys,
Well we are now back in Australia, back home and back at work again. What an excellent vacation (6 weeks). The highlight for all of us was the cruise (of course). The parks were great, but the cruise felt like one big continuous 7 night park vacation. Great people and great food.
Sorry we did not get to meet everybody at the disboards meets. We got to spent a brief moment with JanDave which was wonderful and also met annmouse. I think we also met Fire14 at the Turtle Farm.
Thank you to all for your comments and FE gifts. The kids really appreciated the effort and thought you all put into your ideas.
Scott the CD is a compliation of songs I found while researching the trip. To the best of my knowledge, the song list is:
Disney magic horn
Reach S Club 7
Its a small world Baha men
The tiki tiki room Hilary Duff
A Whole New World Brad Kane & Lea Salonga
Beauty & the beast Celine Dion & Peabo Bryson
If I never knew you Tiffany Thornton
Its a small world
A Pirates Life for me
Fantasmic exit music
Disneyland soundtrack medley (found on youtube)
Fantasmic Part 1
Celebration Kool & The Gang
For those that wish to keep up with us separate to the boards our email address is feeandjon@bigpond.com. By all means sign us up as friends on facebook (Jon King).
Thanks again guys. We have so many great memories and are really looking forward to returning again soon. At this point, we are considering a back to back cruise either late 2012 early 2013.

Hi Jon, Fiona, and family!!! :yay:
It was wonderful meeting you and all the other cruisers we met on the Magic. We will have to cruise together again! However, with the prices for 2013 escalating, I don't know if we will be cruising DCL in 2013. Fortunately, we are booked on the 6-20-12 Dream - on DVC points. We booked a Magic 2012 dummy date on board and we may keep that dummy date (12/1/12 on the Magic).
Thanks, again, for the CD. I absolutely love it. I listen to the ship's horn on my way to work each morning. My morning therapy. :cool1: Since I am musically challenged in that I do not listen to current music - although I am a 60s and 70s music junkie - I love the #2 song on the CD. I had to google the words last week to find out more info about the song. Now I can't get that song out of my head. :thumbsup2 Also, love the Fantasmic song, as it reminds me of being in the WDW theater on the ship.

For those who use iTunes, I've submitted the track listings to gracenotes so sometime in the future it will pull it up when you put the disc in your computer. I also did this with the Anything Goes CD from JoyaDelMar. I submitted the track listing for Anything Goes yesterday and it pulled it on my other computer just now.
