I have been trying to scan pages of paper scrapbooks on my Epson scanner and the photos on the page come out looking grainy and blotchy. The backgrounds look fine. I'm very new to scanning and need basic help on settings etc. :confused3 The pages are letter size 8.5x11.
I would love any help on how to scan these pages! Thanks so much in advance.:goodvibes

First thought is that you need to increase the Resolution setting -- to 300 or 400 dpi. What software are you using for scanning? Can you upload a page that you've scanned to photobucket and post it here -- that might help folks give you some ideas.

I played around some more with the Epson scanner. I'm using the software that came with the scanner. If I run the scan through a program to remove the noice, that helped alot. I also tried it on my Kodak ESP and that had the best results. It looked very much like the orignal. I was really surprized. I scanned it at 300 dpi on both scanners. So I think I will stay with the Kodak.
