Hi there! My husband and I aren't booked yet, but are planning on cruising with you.

We took our first cruise (3 day Wonder) on Sept 24 of this year and are absolutely hooked. That cruise included our three boys, my dad, brother, and brother's two kids, but this one will just be the two of us. I know it's a LITTLE early, but I'm already thinking ahead to FE gifts!

I'll feel more excited once we actually book (our Christmas gift to one another), but couldn't resist a quick post! :)

I think I got some one to take our SPH Cabin...........Now the bad news.We will not be cruising with you guys in Sept. About 6 weeks ago I went to the Doctor to have some tag-type warts removed from my neck, that was all fine-and-good, but he discovered something else, from the sun [the sun I so love] I have developed a "PRE"-cancer condition on both sides of my face and fore head, so needless to say 2010 I am not going out on sunny days.THE MED. [cream]Iam using 3 time per week cost no less than $157.00w/ insurance, $642.00 without insurance [ thank goodness for insurance]So to all you BREEZIN' TO THE BAHAMMS I wish you all HAPPY SAILING and wear your sun screen. P.S. we are still booked for the DREAM cruise MAY22, 2011, A B-2-B , Come and go with us. And KIM............ now you know why I said; "I always take the back row at meetings" and voted for you to be our leader. U-GO GIRL.

We booked room 5020 for the same cost as our cat 10. I was reading a bit about the room. If you are on deck 5, how might you see a maintance worker? There is a light on all the time outside of the window--where is this light? Has anyone has a big problem with noice?

Thanks so much!! We are excited.

GREAT! glade you got it. It kind of funny, I can't recall seeing anyone on any of our 4 day cruises out side our window.Had the Sph cabin a couple times [rm 5520,5524,&5020].Now on our 7day cruise last June, they where doing safety checks every other day.As for the light, first cruise it was on,all the other cruises it was off. HAPPY SAILING.

Hey all! We will be on the Sept. 26 "Cruisin to the Bahamas" as well!
This is our first Disney Cruise.... 2nd cruise in all! It will be me, DH, and our 2 boys 8 & 5. We are very excited, and just can't wait!
We have also decided to stay a few days after, and go to Universal. That will also be a first, since I'm such a Disney nut.
Looking forward to all the planning! :goodvibes

Hello everyone--

We are booked on this sailing, too. "We" are Gianna, DD6, and DS3. This will be the kids first cruise and my first cruise on DCL. We very much enjoy all things Disney and I have no doubt that this will include the cruise. Looking forward to planning and talking over the next 6 months or so. It seems so far away, but I know it will be here before I know it!

Hi! My DH (Dan) and I will be joining all of you for our first cruise. We booked a Cat 6 room with a verandah (cabin 6576) - we hope that's a good room for our first time. We're so excited but really am not sure exactly what to expect. Friends of my DH are also on the cruise so we won't there without knowing anyone at all.

I am not booked or even positive I am going to go, but I wanted to add my name to the list. Our (daughter, mother, friend of my mother and mine) only hurdle is finding someone to care for my 95 year old grandmother that needs around the clock care. There are facilities that we can use, (at least $100 a day) but then my mother would have to hire someone on top of that so she would spend more on her care than on the cruise! I am hoping my sister will pull through for us because that would be the only way we can go. (If anyone would like to lift this in their prayers tonight I would be FOREVER grateful!)

Anyway, I wanted to join in just in case we are able to go. It would be awesome to know people on there when you board! Especially on those moments when I just HAVE to get away! If you know what I mean :rotfl:

Ok a little information about us. My daughter is 8 and will be 9 on the cruise (the 29th) so this is going to be a big deal. I have never been on a cruise before and quite frankly, I am a bit nervous :D My mother has taken 2 other cruises years before (before Disney had cruise liners) so she will have some experience for me. We are also flying in the day before which will be an experience too since I am not the biggest fan of flying and it got worse after 9/11! :scared: My mom's friend has been on a Disney cruise before and stayed at Port Orleans too.

Anyway, I am soooooooo hoping (and praying) we are able to go. We hardly get the opportunity to do big things like this (see above for reason).

I was told the verandah was the only way to go (this from a friend that only books the best suites on anything! lol) so I am planning on getting one of those but in the middle of the boat...deck 6 maybe? Then we are planning on going to Port Orleans (I forget which one exactly) for the remainder of the time.

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

OK I will help with anything you guys need! I don't speak on front of groups but other than that I am there! lol

An FE, I have found out, is what they call a Fish Extender. There is a fish that is outside your door. Not sure what it is there for but, someone on this board a while back started it for things like mail that you would get from the ship. People decorate it and personalize it and then during the ship, if you are signed up with the FE then you put things in other people's FE and you get goodies yourself. There are a bunch of threads about it and it looks really great. That is why they said earlier in this thread that they are going to start watch Oriental Trading for free shipping. Oriental trading (.com) is a WONDERFUL place to get low cost toys for things like this. Really really cute. Anyway, that is an FE. :D

I am going to be counting the trip down so if I annoy you, please forgive me :cool1:

I have never done this before but I got the impression it is basically up to you when you give them out and how often you do it. I would say if you are giving out little candies you could do that every day whereas if you gave something big....more expensive, then you would do that once. I am going to buy some trinkets to give out every day so that every day there is a little something in the pockets. This is really cool for the kids. I know my daughter will be wanting to go back to the room every 10 minutes to see if there is anything new in the pockets! LOL

I made mine but since I sell them online, that would be a given :teeth:

I am going to start working on them soon too. There are a bunch of "summer" things out that would be perfect for the trip. I just have to actually make the move to PURCHASE them! LOL

Have fun!!

It seems like forever since I've been able to log on, and I'm glad to see that we are not sailing alone :)

I transferred my ressie over to my DVC points AND we are taking my mother in law with us...so the updated info for our cabin is:

Cabin 8542
Cast of Characters:
Lauri (laurio) - 41
Dan - (dh) - 43
Sarah - (dd) - 4
Gabe - (dgs) - 3 @ time of sailing
Shirley - (Maaaaaaa) not telling her age cuz she would beat me!

We have first seating for dinner, and the grown folk will be making Paolo ressies asap.

Dan, I, & the kids took our first cruise last year, and this is Maaa's first cruise...and I am sooooooooooooo looking forward to this year! The additions to the water play area at Cataway Cay looks AMAZING!!! (and both the kids will be old enough to go to the club )

Can't wait to meet you all!! Please add us to the FE list .... I've already thought up ideas...now just need to get working on them.

Jen,

Thanks so much for spearheading the FE list! Please add our cabin.

There are a few different ways to do the FE Exchange, and from what I hear they all work equally well.

Last year we chose to just give gifts once...and without working out a schedule we did end up recieving something in the FE every day...sometimes multiple times in a day :thumbsup2

Some other crusiers set up specific days/nights....and on the longer cruises some groups assign a set of cabins, so that instead of buying for a huge amount of people, it is just a set number of cabins.

Early risers and night owls have the easiest time of making deliveries without getting "caught".....but we did ours between early and late seatings of dinner and finished up pretty quickly.

OK well looks like I am going to be arranging this. I will leave this up to a vote. How do you guys want to do this? Do you want to just schedule a time or assign cabins? I dont think there is enough to have to do this but if you guys dont want to run up and down on the ship, that's fine. Speaking of which, what is your room number?

Any other suggestions? I am new at this so I need LOTS of help!

Oohhh that is good to know. I am going to bring something that is....specific to Nashville :teeth: and no, it isn't flood water :lmao:

Anyway, there is a thread about no-sew Fish extenders here http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=30302583&postcount=609 I hope that helps!

I had the Scopolamine stuff only mine was in rub on form to the wrist...not in patches behind the ear. Seriously, I took EVERYTHING under the sun I could think of! I took Pepto, Scopolamine, Meclizine, Phenergan! LOL All the meclizine did was make me sleep. I was actually on my way to the First Aid place cause I couldn't even move I was so miserable! I found the Meclizine tablets outside the door so I took some....all they did was make me sleep our ENTIRE 2nd at Sea day! UGH UGH UGH! That night, I discovered the sea bands in the gift shop. I put them on and viola! 10 minutes later, I was fine! Isn't that crazy?! Wish I would have found those suckers closer to the beginning of the cruise!! Now I know what I need! I'm putting those on the day before we sail this time! :rotfl2:

Hi Jen

Yep..Gabe is my darling grandson...would love to take my puppy with us, but she is so NOT a service dog ;)

For those who suffer from sea sickness...last year I took Bonine the morning of the cruise, another dose right when we boarded....and was fine for the whole cruise. But I plan on bringing the bracelets just in case..can never be too careful!

If you are a DVC member who booked with points there is only 15 days until you can start booking online stuff such as Paolo & Flounders Reef nursery....

Have a happy & safe weekend everyone!

That would be a great idea! I am not sure when we are going to show up. We are planning on staying in Port Canaveral the night before so we can be there anytime. But I dont know when the hotel will shuttle us over there. I have heard 11:00 but who knows! Maybe we can wear dis shirts and meet in the port AND have another gathering point for those that are boarding later. Too much? :confused3

Hey everyone!
We are so excited to be joining you guys.
Just a little more about us.
I am Kamy (kamgen on the DIS) and am going to be celebrating my 38th bday on the cruise! My DH is Steve and he is 33yrs old. We have two awesome boys, Ryan will be 5 and Liam will be 3 (almost 4). They are so excited about going on the big ship! LOL! My mom lives with us and will be sailing with us too! We moved from Michigan to Florida in April and love being near the mouse! :woohoo: We are also DVC members!:cool2:
This will be my 10th DCL cruise, yay I will be a platinum castaway club member after this one! All 5 of us sailed in 2007 for the first time as a family so the boys dont remember any of it. They are really excited about Pirate night! Arrgghhh!;)
We are on deck 5, cant remember our staterooms right now, they are written down somewhere! :rotfl:
We plan on getting to port by 11am and being ready to get our vacation started! Would love to meet up at the port. We have done that in the past and it works out great. If not, then we could meet before the lifeboat drill onboard. We did that once before too. Met by the Mickey Pool! :-)
Whatever works!
Okay, enough rambling! Cant wait to meet everyone!:thumbsup2

Welcome! Now that you said that about meeting at the port, I will try to get there around 11 too. When do they let you board the ship? I think we should have another meeting time either before the lifeboat drill like you said, or maybe after?? Depends on you guys. By the way, I see that you participate in the dis wish thingie. Any helpful hints? I want to get this weight off before I go so badly but my hands and mouth seem to have a different agenda. :(

Also, is anyone else going to WDW after the cruise? We are going and planning on going to Epcot on Friday. Well I found out the Food and Wine festival starts that day. MUCHO people! :scared: Will there be anyone there to hold my paper bag when I hyperventilate or hand me my anti-anxiety pills when I scream at the guy that cut line in front of me for the 2,500th time??

I am at work which means........103 more days!!! We are ooh so close to the double digits!!

Jen- the WISH board is a great place to get ideas and motivation! I have been working hard since October but I am struggling to get the last 25lbs off! I watch what I eat and limit my portions. I am trying to get back into exercise, but it is hard with working full time and the boys keeping me busy. I need to do it. I only have around 3mths to go!!! You can do it! Just try to cut out one thing at a time, or cut your portions in half! No soda and lots of water or crystal light!;)

I have been there but that doesn't seem to help at least not for me. I want to lose at least 25 lbs (not sure if that is possible) before I go. But what's so weird is, I have not been eating good but trying very hard. I put on a skirt that was kinda pulling across the hips, and it isnt pulling now so.....I guess I am still losing! lol I wont look at lbs though. I know inches are what matters and I have some clothes that I want to wear on the trip so that is my goal. I wont be at goal but good enough LOL Better than now! Maybe we can encourage each other on here!

Jen and Kamy - I'm trying to drop at least 15 lbs (need more but trying to be realistic) before the cruise. Eating less is really tough for me but I'm at least trying to cut out snacking while at work. However, I'm trying to get in a half hour walk everyday. I haven't gained anything but I'm not sure I've really lost anything either. I definitely have some cruisewear I would love to fit back into and 15lbs should do it.

I really need to start walking too. I just HATE it!! I live on a hill so I have a .2 mile flat space and walking that 25 times is BORING! I have walked at work before but now it is blue hot! (yes a word I made up lol) it was in the high 90s and today 93. HORRIBLE! But I have resolved to walk in our warehouse during lunch. I really really dont want to parade around in my bathing suite looking like this and it is torture not to be able to swim. OH! my neighbor has a pool and my daughter pesters me to death to take her. Maybe I will start swimming with her (if no one is there swimming). That's an idea. If I walk an hour for lunch and swim just 30 minutes a day that will make a BIG dent!

I did very well with my eating today :yay:

Uh...if anyone doesnt want to read this, I can make another thread LOL I didnt think of that.

Jen- Dont worry about posting here....we are all cruising together so we might as well be in each others business! LOL!!!:rotfl:

I ate okay today, it is hard. My dh and my mom dont eat as well as I need to, so it is hard to steer clear of the snacks! But I will try to make more of an effort with exercise!

We are so excited about this cruise. I cannot wait till it gets closer. We have a lot going on so it should come up quick. We are going back to WDW after the cruise! We are staying at the Polynesian! I'm running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon.

I'm a runner but I am NO WHERE in shape where I want to be. It's easier said than done to lose the weight! It can be really frustrating!

I like the idea of meeting up by the Mickey Pool, too! The TV's in the port and the Mickey Pool are both easy landmarks to find! :thumbsup2

Ryan starts summer VPK on Thursday, we have a beach trip to Vero planned in July, Ryan starts Kindergarten in August, Ryan's birthday is at the end of August, our anniversary is in Sept, my birthday and then the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Oh wow! When is your birthday? We are celebrating my daughter's 9th birthday on the cruise (29th). My daughter will be in the Oceaneers Club too. She is already saying she will be LIVING there! lol I won't know what to do without her. If there are kids, she is all in. I am pretty sure we will be able to tear her away for Castaway Cay but that is probably about it LOL I am going to let her do what she wants to do on the trip as long as it doesnt turn into major whining and crying. Then we will start setting strict bedtimes!

I wish we had other plans this summer. We were lucky to get these. My grandmother lives with us and she is 95. She does not get around very well at all so Mom would have had to find someone to stay with her 24x7 which is totally not affordable. My sister volunteered to take her for the week! :scared1: (in a good way) So we are FINALLY able to take a trip! We havent been anywhere in 2 years (not counting the trip to Gatlinburg for 2 nights...I dont count that LOL) so I am just bursting at the seems. We dont have any big plans this summer. Victoria will be playing Upwards Basketball camp, but that is 3 nights. She will basically be swimming in the neighbor's pool any chance she can get lol

OH COOL! Is that on October 1st? If so, I will see you off! If not, can I see you outside the park? Oh it is DEFINITELY frustrating but if I can get my motivation going, nothing can stop me. It just deflates from time to time and I dont have the stomach muscles to blow it back up again sometimes! :lmao:

OK then we will meet under the TV in the port until boarding and then under the Mickey Pool afterward. anyone else going to book it to the restaurants as soon as you board? I figured that I am going to get all the meals I can out of this trip! hehe Which restaurant is the best to eat on the first day?

Wow lots of birthdays and anniversaries around this trip. DH and I are celebrating 5 yrs on Oct 1.

Today was a bad food day. I was at home not feeling well so when I was finally hungry I just ate what I was craving, which was all junk. And of course no walk. I got ready to take the puppies out but started to feel sick again. I don't think I would have made it for a walk in this heat not feeling well.

So far I've managed to walk outside during the workday on 2 of the 90 degree days we've had. I was hot and icky but I hate going to the gym at work in the afternoon b/c of some of the people who visit it. Plus I never seem to walk as fast or as long on the treadmill as I do outside. I should have a few cooler days this week to get in a good walk.

I hate those days. And if it is hot, I just cant walk. Feel better and try again tomorrow. I am! I am planning on if there are no thunderstorms and no one is there, I will go swimming with Victoria tomorrow after work. I can really get a work out and I love it.

Jen- what do you need to book in terms of meals??? You only have to prebook Palo. Everything else is assigned to you. Not sure if you knew...not trying to over-step.
I am a gold member so I have already booked our Palo brunch. So excited as it is my FAVORITE meal onboard!:woohoo:

Ryan and Liam are so excited about the Oceaneers Club and Scuttles Cove. I am going to start stocking up on sunscreen for Castaway Cay! CVS had a good sale last week, so I am going to watch for that again! So much to do!
Oh, Ryans bday is August 26, our anniversary is Sept 13 and my bday is Sept 23. Lots to celebrate!!:thumbsup2

If you mean "book it" as in "haul butt" :rotfl2: then YES we definitely are! We ate at Parrot Cay last time on the Magic. Not too sure what it's called on the Wonder but it was nice and open. We sat outside. HUGE buffet! It was sooo good and it was nice outside! We got the eating part out of the way first so that we could explore the ship. In looking at our Navigators, we saw that there was a walking tour of the ship (offered by Disney...we met at one of the elevator shafts). That was REALLY nice...helped us figure out where everything was. The tour met up that afternoon but I can't remember if it was before or after life jacket drills...probably after.

It's kinda funny actually...this is Disney's first Nighttime Half Marathon. It starts at 10:30 p.m. outside Epcot and ends back Epcot. We run through Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and HS. It's on the 2nd...and the after party continues into the 3rd (a.m.). How long are you guys staying for? We'll be leaving Sunday afternoon!

:thumbsup2 I understand about the motivation part. Besides eating right, it's hard enough in this heat to get motivated to do ANYTHING!!! lol

I am not sure on Palos. I immediately dismissed it since it is an adults only restaurant AND you have to pay extra for it, but everyone says how wonderful it is so I am wondering. I guess there is a brunch on there! I was thinking that only certain cruises had them but obviously this one has it! LOL

:rotfl2: YES!! This is what I meant. When I saw her response I thought "oh no. My accent is showing!" But obviously you got it! LOL They have a Parrot Cay on the Wonder but everyone says they go to the buffett first because they want to see the ocean but then again, this is lunch! Big deal! Now if we were CRUISING...oh yeah. But you said you can sit outside. I have never heard anyone say that. I know the two ships are almost identical so I am sure the Wonder has it outside too. I want to go to Parrot Cay because it is a "sit down and they bring it to you" place. I am ALL about someone else doing things for me! hehehe I never get it so when I have it, I am going to use it! :lmao:

I am a widow and live with my family. Kamgen suggested the Coffe Cafe , we did that on the last cruise I went on and it was a huge success. Time??? check with Kam, maybe see what time was good before. (not too early). This will be the first cruise that I don't have to be a Grammy Nanny. Boys are finally the age to go to the Oceneers!!! Fun in the sun with a nice drink.. we will be doing the Fish Extenders too.. See you there

Great idea! OK so we have a meet in the Port under the TV (there is only one right?) until boarding. Then we will have an official meet Nassau morning (Monday Sept 27th) at 9:00 (I dont plan on going to Nassu). I will just say that I plan on going to Parrot Cay for lunch.

Where is everyone staying the night before? I have heard Country Inn and Suites is good but their prices YIKES! I have been trying to get them cheep on Priceline but it is a no go. So I hate to spend $160 to get free parking. I saw where Radisson was offering some type of room for $107 but then parking at the port would be $60 (Right?) so it would be cheeper to stay at Country Inn. Does anyone know if Radisson charges to park at their hotel? If so, how much? I was just thinking that if I go to Country Inn and Suites, I heard their shuttle doesnt even leave until around 11. Doesn't the ship board around 10:30 or 10:45? (can you tell I am a newbie?)

I wonder if we can get seated together in the dining rooms. Hehe Am I being too clingie? Just tell me to back off and I will. I am just excited!! I can't wait! :boat:

There's more than 1 TV but it's all in one section...they play a bunch of cartoons for the kids to watch. It's to the right when you walk into the port...past the big model of the ship. There's a whole section of seating there, too.

We have some CM friends who are picking us up from the airport and we are spending the night with them. They will also bring us to the port that day. I cannot remember what time we boarded last time! We were there about an hour and a half before that. I need to go re-read my TR! :rotfl2:

As for Palo, it is wonderful! We have done dinner there on all of our cruises, but may pass this time and only do brunch. Palo is worth the extra money and a nice quiet night out is awesome! We dont plan on going into Nassau either. Going to enjoy the ship!!! That is the best part...that and Castaway Cay! LOVE IT!

Parking is $15 a day, not a night, so it is $75. We live in Florida, about an hour and a half from port. We will probably just drive over in the morning. The Radisson is nice and has let people keep their cars there in the past. I would call and ask. They may have a cruisers package.

We did that one, too...it was on an at sea day. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO sick to my stomach that I barely made it with my husband! You do have to go on the day that you board to get your tickets for the kitchen tour. Ours only lasted 15-20 minutes. I remember them giving us fresh cookies and I had to turn around and stare at the coffee pot because I thought I was going to lose it! :rotfl2: It is neat to see inside there!

The walking tour of the ship was the day we boarded. It was before the ship left port. Check the navigator when you get on board and it will tell you the time! It really was a helpful thing to do for us!!!

Yikes! $75?? I will call radisson. Even if I book through Priceline and get a FAIRLY cheep rate, I could pay them to keep the car there and STILL save money! wow! I wonder if they will let me drive to the port, park, check everyone in, drive back to Country Inns and park the car? I want to get early booking to see if I can get an upgrade and be first on the ship but I wasnt sure if they would let me check in and leave the port.

I am DEFINITELY doing Castaway Cay! That sounds TOO AWESOME! I don't plan on being there all day though. We are not sun people so we will probably head back around 1 or so. I do plan on getting on the island early in the morning.

I saw 10 pages of posts and was all excited to see with whom we'd be cruising this Fall. But it seems to have fizzled out 2 months ago.
I'm guessing things will pick back up around mid August as everyone starts preparing.

Our Cast:
Me (DH) - 41 (at time of cruise)
DW - a few years younger, lol. (good hubbies dont share that sort of thing, right?)
DD - 3.5 (at time of cruise)

This will be our umpteenth criuse and our second Disney cruise.
Our first was last Sept. 18th-ish Western Carib on the Magic. After that we were hooked.

I'm trying to talk the wife into the FE thing.... She loves Etsy for keeping our DD in cute clothes, so maybe getting her to search on FEs on Etsy will help.

Oh, yeah, duh....forgot to mention that we are back-to-backing it since the economic outlook was dreary in the Spring we were reluctant to book anything, have to make up for it now!

So we are doing this "Breezin' to the Bahamas" cruise as well as the unnamed 3 day leaving 9/30.

Anyone else taken B2B (back to back) cruises on Disney before? Any tips/advice? I'm hoping to secure the same room so we don't have to move our bags around. Sad that we have to leave the ship on that day but we understand then have to clean/inspect/service.

Do you guys want to be part of the FE?

I have never been on a B2B cruise before (I have never been on ANY cruise before! hehe) but I have heard you do that. But isnt there like a three hour wait or something? I thought you could leave up to 9:00 and then you are reboard around 11:45? I guess that would be a lot of time to wait.

Anyway, :welcome: WELCOME! :welcome:

Kam, we are planning on signing up our daughter for the OC. We probably won't leave her there much because this is all about family, but maybe once or twice...
What concerns me is on the disney website when I log into our castaway club stuff it says she (3yo) is elibigble for "Flouder's Reef". in the same place it lists the age ranges for Oceaneer's Club as 3-12... I hope they'll let her play there. She will think she's in heaven with that chest of princess dresses! :-)

LOL ok, I was looking at the date you signed up (JenGC) not the date of the post. Looked like 3 pages of posts happened in April.

Hotel/Parking:
OK, so last Fall when we did this, we stayed at the Holiday Inn. They let you leave your car there for free with a night's stay. You just ask them at the desk and they give you a card that you can put in your window.
They have a 3rd party shuttle service that was $15 per person (round trip) and would take you and your luggage to the terminal.
One of our lessons learned is that its cheaper for me to drive the wife and peanut princess: to the terminal with the luggage, drop them off, go back and park the car then take the shuttle myself with no bags. Saves $15 plus a few bucks I felt obligated to tip.

At the terminal:
It was our first Disney cruise so we had to wait in the 'long' line which meant we spent about 90-120 minutes, maybe a tad longer....dont remember...in the terminal waiting to board. They do have a character or two show up so you can wait in yet another line to take a picture with them in front of the big model of the disney ship.
If this is your 2nd+ cruise, you get a slightly expedited line for Castaway Club members. :thumbsup2

There are tons of threads with answers and tips if you search the forums....but if you have any specific questions or curiosities, I'd be glad to provide any information I have.

Cheers!

Jen,
We're really not planning on much if anything at Castaway Cay. I'm not much of a beach person (I hate sand) so spending all day on the beach is not my idea of a great time. We'll probably check it out then go back to the ship to sit by the pool or explore the ship.

We're staying at OKW the night before the cruise then heading to the port in a car service van with our friends who just happen to be taking the same cruise. Then we're are headed back to BLT for 8 nights after the cruise.

Hi to the Breezin to the Bahamas crew!!!!

It's been a hectic crazy few months, but I'm really starting to look forward to September & being back "home"

So for roll call - I think I have everyone:

Lauri, Dan, Sarah (4) Gabe (3)
Kim, Ken, Quentin (13) Jolica (8) Antonio (6)
Beth & Brent
NY Yankee Girl, Hubby, DS (8) DS (5)
Scott, Vicky, Damon (12) Ambyr (11)
Roberts1999, Hubby, DD (4) ***yeah a friend for Sarah*** DS (1)
Karen & Jason

Please let me know if you'd like to participate in the FE exchange....I think we will probably have to set an agreed-upon cut off date for signing up...but for now I can start getting together a master list, and once we have stateroom assignments the real fun can begin :cool1:

Are you taking care of the FE and meet? I will help if you need it.....let me know.

FE:
I want to do the FE thing, as well as meeting up...but ultimately it's up to the wife. Last time she didn't want to because it was really just us and we pretty much kept to ourselves. I'm going to try to push it this time as it seems like most of us have kids under 10 and that is a tie that binds most anyone together. :grouphug:

Cheers!

LOL I was wondering why you thought we stopped talking! lol

I have spent so much time on this board and my nose in the Passporter, I feel like I have already taken a trip LOL I just try to get as much info as I can. I dont think there will be ANY surprises. I even know what the ship sounds like when they sound the horn! :woohoo:

I will be more than happy to put you on the FE list (I have somehow taken over that job. Sorry for whom I took it away from!! I hope your wife is up to it. I just LOVE meeting people I have talked to for months! Plus it just seems like you would have so much more fun having someone else to do stuff with. I think Victoria is going to end up living in the Oceaners lab and My mom and her friend will be paring up. I am sure I will find SOMETHING to do! lol Also, Victoria is unlike any child I have every seen. She adores babies, toddlers, kids her age, older kids, teenagers, and adults. It doesnt matter to her, she will play LOL so I have a feeling she will be acting like mother hen to your peanut :teeth:

I assume by your name you are a webmaster. I am too! Well, that an a seamstress. Kinda strange mix eh?

I LOOOOOOOVE the beach but I think the actual ocean is icky. I will play in the sand with my daughter but that's about it. But I just dont think there will be enough to entertain us. I dont want to rent anything so I will probably stay until lunch because I would like to try the food on there, but after that I will probably come back and Victoria will "book it" (aka going fast ) back to the lab!

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside Thurdsay to Sunday. I wish we could stay longer but I will be tapped out! lol This is kinda last minute for me. Next time, I am going to have more time to save up. But I am DEFINITELY getting the Dooney and Burke purses. Thank you Dreams Unlimited for the $100 OBC!! lol

I know my kids will be in there A LOT...they love to be busy and play with other kids. I will try to get them to do stuff with us, but I am being realistic. Once they see all that cool stuff, they will be hooked. Mom and dad will pale in comparison! :rotfl:

Well DANG! I thought there was a sit down restaurant that served you while you can look out. Oh well, I guess we will go there because if the boat isnt moving, I wont be that interested in looking at the water. Afterward I will spend time on the deck. When did you say that tour was? I DEFINITELY want to go on that. I read about another tour that takes you to the kitchens and things. I want to go on that one too!

If I remember correctly, Parrot Cay, which is typically a 'server' restaurant has a buffet on the day of departure...I think they also do a buffet in the Castaway Cay day...probly because a lot of the kitchen staff are on the island serving BBQ.

Top siders, the perma-buffet is very very crowded the day we leave port. It looked to me like the way to go would be to grab a table and then take turns getting in line if you went that route. I'm with Jen on this one, no need to see the outside when the ship isn't moving. Although young boys might like watching the tug boats assist us out of the harbor.

Jen - Put us down for the FE list. Also, I saw the awesome FEs you made and posted on Etsy....can you do a custom one? Don't want to change the design as much as the colors. Our peanut is obsessed with pink. something in pink/black/green would be the way we'd want to go...
Anyway, I'll send you a message via Etsy and we can communicate there.

Jen, As I have recently read the entire thread, my interpretation is yeah, you are the 'captain' of organizing the FE list and the meet(s).

The originator was Lauri. Kim (quentina) offered to help, Lauri posted the first official list. Jen, you got on board in April and offered to help. Nobody posted for a few weeks and you posted a newly compiled list. A couple of fams asked you to add them to the list, which by default made you the new list manager for FEs.
Lauri posted after a long gap and asked you to add her to the list and thanked you for 'spearheading' it. That pretty much made you official in my book.

And here I will also thank you for 'spearheading' it. And no, I'm not a webmaster by profession although I was in a past life and did create websites for some friends' businesses.

Cheers!

Welcome to Webmeister & family!

And to anyone else that I've missed in my spotty attendance :sad2:

Jen, thanks you much for taking over the FE list  I would never have kept up!!

For those of us with toddlers in the Oceaneers Club, they have the club on-island at Castaway Cay....and it is amazing. My Sarah didn't want to see the beach with us...straight to the club. We had to drraaaaaaggg her out when it was time to head back to the Wonder lol...

Webmeister - don't be surprised if your little one ditches the family time for the club! Kamgen is spot on...the kids really love it, and they get to page you if they would like to be picked up or just touch base with you.

Once we drop all the little ones off at the Club on CC we could all meet up at the bar by Cookies for the wonderfully amazing (even if I cant drink them) Conch Coolers :cool1: Just sayin.. :)

Well, our little peanutmonkey is pretty clingy. We've yet to find something she'd rather do than be with us, but alas there is a first time for everything.
Last time we walked the bike trail looking for a geocache and it was 100 in the shade! Crazy hot and of course peanuntmonkey fell asleep half way in so I was carrying dead weight. Haha what a memory....

Jen, the 'get in yet another line for a picture with a dis character in front of the ship model...well that is the picture that is Lauri's avitar, ha!
Definitely worth it if you have the time to kill.

Maybe our little sugah-boogah:cutie: will buddy up with one of y'alls and disappear into clubland.party:

Meeting at cookies sounds great to me. My mom and her friend will be going to the adult beach anyway so I can hang out with you guys! :cool1::woohoo: Oh I just cant wait (have I said that before? hehe). Hey everybody! Just checking in before I (try to) head off to bed!;) I am so exhausted and cannot wait for the weekend. After work tomorrow I am meeting the family at Animal Kingdom Lodge!!!:cool1: We are staying there from Fri-Sun for Father's Day Weekend! Cannot wait to hang out by the pool on my days off work! Then I go on a 15day stretch without a day off, so this weekend is my relaxation..........and no internet for two days, so dont miss me too much!:lmao:

Yeah, my kids are so excited about the clubs. They are usually very clingy with me, but they love adventure and playing with other kids. I know they are going to have an awesome time! What do they want to hang out with us "parents" for?!?!:confused3 LOL!
I was looking at some Navigators from and April 4nt cruise and the kids stuff is awesome...i wanna go!:3dglasses But since they don't have a bar in there, I think I will stay up by the pool!:woohoo::banana::yay:
As for Castaway Cay, we usually hang out down at the end of the beach by the Heads Up Bar. It is our favorite place to hang out and the bar down there is great. Not a lot of people usually.

As for embarkation lunch, we usually hit Parrot Cay because it is less busy. Just depends. Just so much to think about and only 100 days left!:rolleyes1 Seriously, I could be packed to go tomorrow!:cool2:

Yeah I think Parrot Cay will be where we go too. I dunno, the thought of being served...and not having to pay for it just...speaks to me LOL

I assumed that my daughter and I would hang out in the family area near the place that has pool tables and ping pong (she LOVES billiards but is not good at it...yet LOL) but I also didnt know there was a club there too so I am 99% sure she will go there. I am not sure how I missed this post, but I did! Thanks so much for the compliment! I like it very much, but the more I look at it, the more I wonder if it is too dark. LOL I can change the FE to whatever you want. That was ours and I made another one with a more nautical theme that has just not made it out to the Etsy shop (plus a word is misspelled and I was going to let it go since it was only for demo but it is driving me nuts so I want to fix that). I just bought some really pretty royal blue and red solid material that I was wanting to do a different kind of theme to so have at it. There is a campground group that is going on a cruise next year and one of the members wants a "outdoorsie" theme to it so that will be a lot of browns and such to it but with Mickey, of course LOL I am not sure if you know the name of my shop, but it is stitches N Bows. The direct address is stitchesNBows.Etsy.com

I am not really big on buffets (unless it is Chinese and I ADORE them but dont seem to get to one very often). Like I said before, the thought of going into a restaurant, being served, and not paying is just a dream. I am going to wear it out! LOL But you will see me on Deck 10 when that ship moves! Oh man. I just got butterflies thinking of sailing off to sea!! This is going to be a long....

99 more days!!!!

When Parrot Cay does the buffet, you still get a server but you gio up and get your own food. The quality of food is tons better than it is at the traditional buffet.

It switches around....not sure I recognized a pattern, but i do know that the first time we went there, which I think was the day we started, they had a nice buffet with tons of fruit and salads, seafood like peel-n-eat shrimp and other assorted things. They had a separate bar for dessert and anothe for kid friendly food like pastas and such.

This was the cruise we were supposed to be on, but the DW unfortunately? got a promotion that doubled her travel times for work. Well ok that and the fact that airfare to Barcelona would have doubled the cost of the trip! lol

Hey to everyone...

Just a bit more about us...

Bill and I (TJ...it's short for Tommi-Jo but noone EVER remembers that name...and no, my mom DIDN'T like Petticoat Junction! :rotfl2: If I had been a boy my mom was going to name me Matthew...go figure!) will be celebrating 20 WONDERful years onboard! :thumbsup2

We live in a suburb of Indianapolis.

We'll be in cabin 6137.

It's our first Disney cruise, 3rd cruise total...but first without our girls...ages 17 & 13 (ahhhhhhhh...yes you have permission to feel sorry for my DH! He definitely lives in the estrogen ocean so this will be a nice break for him!) :rotfl2:

Can't wait. Bill just asked me the other day if the FE exchange was supposed to stress me out or be fun. :rotfl: So many choices...having a hard time choosing what to bring! But I am having fun!!!!!

We'll plan on meeting by the TVs as long as we aren't standing in a long line since this is our first Disney cruise. Haven't decided what we are doing about Nassau yet so don't know if we'll be there for that meet. We are taking our girls on a Disney cruise next Spring Break (Lord willing:)) for our oldest DD's graduation celebration and are definitely going to Atlantis then...so we just can't decide if we need to "scope it out" before we take them! ;)

Jen...you are a hoot! I love your excitement!:thumbsup2 Do you have an idea of how the FE is going to be structured? I'm trying to grab things as I find them but didn't know if we are doing something every night...or just one night...or is that up to us? And I'm assuming we'll have to have a cutoff date for signing up for the FE exchange?????

Can you tell I'm a planner!?!?

Happy early Father's Day!

Tell ya what, I will do some research and see what other people have done and throw out some ideas and you guys and see what you think. :teeth:

Webmeister, again with my spotty reading I just caught you calling me captain. Captain Jen...I like it! Now I am going to have to make a Captain's hat :rotfl2:

Is that everyone that is on the FE and celebrating something near/on the cruise dates?

I am 99% sure we are doing a B2B because of webmeister (yes I am going to blame you on BOTH threads! lol). He makes it sound so wonderful! And after I got past the fact that I only really wanted to exercise the free dining plan, I really DIDN'T want to walk in scorching sun 10 hours a day for 2 days. So I think I am going to book the second cruise and cancel my WDW ressies. Anyone want Sept 30-Oct 3rd in Port Orleans Riverside, Free dining plan ressies? I am sure we can swap them if you do.

96 more days!!!

Oh my gosh. The time is just closing in on me. Where's my paper bag?

We're always torn....we hear that the Sunday brunch is top notch, but as they don't allow kids, we won't go. Our weekly routine is church, then a nice brunch.
Since Peanut has been eating at restaurants with us since she was 4 days old, she is more well behaved than most grown-ups we know ;-) but alas, I'm sure they won't let us bring her....so we won't go. Just wouldn't be the same without her.
Maybe one of you guys can take pictures or video it for us so we can live vicariously through you!

I know EXACTLY how you feel! My daughter is the SAME WAY! Very well mannered but from what I have seen of other children, I understand the restriction. I am sure that EVERY parent feels that their child isnt wild but they really are! lol So while I feel my child is the exception, I am glad that they dont bend the rules. But I also do not plan on seeing my child the whole trip. Not that I dont want to experience it with her, she is just going to try to get as much time in with other children as she can. If she isn't in the lab, I will be hovering, but I will leave her alone there lol

I thought about Palos, but I saw the brunch pictures and lets say...I dont think I would enjoy the food :D I am not a seafood kinda person and I am not good at trying new things. So I would hate to plunk down $15 MORE dollars to eat stuff I really dont want. :confused3

Hey Guys! Just a heads up about brunch......there is not just seafood. I dont eat seafood and brunch is so wonderful! We love it and have done it every time we could. Our kids will be in the clubs having fun. I checked out the activities in the club and there is not much my boys want to miss! LOL! We will ask them if they want to go to dinner with us on our dining rotation nights, but if they dont want to, I dont plan on making them go.......it is their vacation too after all:thumbsup2
But again, about brunch....it is fantastic! We are not doing Palo dinner this time as we have done it every cruise. And while it is wonderful, DH has opted for a "no-suit necessary" cruise. :rotfl:

Based on your castaway club status you can prebook things. I was already able to book ours. I think it is 90 days before for new cruisers. Also you can try to book at the port. Online you can find previous Navigators to give you and idea of what is going on in the Clubs. Things do change, but for the most part it is a great way to check out the offerings. We wouldnt miss brunch for anything! ;)
By the way, brunch is only offered on the sea day. Palo dinner is offered each night. They are both worth it in my opinion!

Great job! I walked inside at work for 30 minutes Monday and really ate well! I didnt walk yesterday but was scolded by a co worker for not telling her I was starting to walk in the plant (it is like 95 degrees here and heat index over 100 for the past 3 weeks! I am not sure what is going on, but June has been a horrible month for the heat! We usually see temperatures like that in July). I was kinda happy because I really wanted someone to talk to. I HATE walking but I don't like going to a gym and I have no equipment at home to work out. I am planning on utilizing the next door neighbor's pool soon! :teeth: We bought them an awning (you know the kind you can set up in the back yard as shade?) last year, found it on sale, to butter them up to let us use the pool this year! hehehe I have been putting this off since the end of May. I WILL DO THIS!!!! :yay:

Hi Jen, I will ask Joy if wants to sign up for FE. Where are you in Nashville? We are in Hendersonville.

I forgot, Shadow is coming too!
I have a cpl of folks ask me about Shadow.

Normally I let "little kids" & other folks in wheelchairs pet him. But when its a ship Full of kids i dont let anyone.

He works for the "petting" that i give him. If i let everyone pet him, He wont work for me. (sorry)

I'm a trainer of Service dogs.

Mornin' mornin' mornin'!

92 more days!!!! :yay:

I bought some new luggage yesterday at Walmart! I bought a 5 piece for $49 and a 3 piece for $29. I love them! I have never had luggage before. I had a suitcase when I was little but since being an adult, it has always been duffle bags. Well I thought a cruise deserves matching luggage! The 5 piece has the big rolling suitcase, then it has a smaller rolling suitcase and a rolling duffle bag! It also has a carry on case and a makup bag (utility bag is what they said...I guess that is so the guys dont think it is too girly). It is navy blue which I thought was appropriate for the cruise! hehe Then the 3 piece I bought for my daughter which is red. It has a rolling suitcase that is a tad bigger than my smaller suitcase, a rolling duffle bag and a carry on case. I want to pack NOW!!! hehehe

I want to meet by the TVs before we boards. I am planning on taking the 10:00 shuttle from the Radisson. Welcome back Don & Kathy!!! So glad that your health concerns have resolved so quickly for you :cool1:

Can't wait, can't wait.....at 12:01 I'll be helping crash the Disney site to make my Palo ressies & get the kids set for the club.

We are staying at the Hilton the night before the cruise (I got an amazing deal in October...) and we will be driving to the port and plan to be there...EARLY lol We were the 5th family in the terminal last year, and it is amazing when the terminal is empty.

We had a Cat 3 last year (a gift from my bachelor baby brother lol) so we didn't have to pick a number ....we were offered a 9. :scared1:
Jen, if you have the opportunity to upgrade..it is SOOOOOOO worth it!!!! We really didn't use the Concierge for much, but having the jacuzzi tub..:cloud9:!!

We will be staying on-board @ Nassau...we aren't much for shopping, and I'd like to actually get into a pool this year..lol.

We had hoped to have both Sarah & Gabe in OC, but Gabe is resisting potty training with a vengance.....so we may have to resort to Flounders for him again this year. I've got my fingers crossed that this will resolve itself before we leave...but I'm not going to count on it.

Can't wait to meet everyone!!!!! So under the TV's @ the port, 3pm @ the Promenade Lounge on Embarkation day.

Jen, I have a running list in an excel spreadsheet if you want it to add to your notepad...or for anyone else who may want it.....

Time to hit the books....

Lauri

I'm with ya on the 12:01 thing (but I think it will be around 7:30 LOL)! I paid the rest of my money Friday so I will be ready on Monday.

To get Victoria potty trained, I told her that she couldnt start school until she did. The next day, she was potty trained LOL She was 4. I have heard too many stories that said if you force them, or pressure them, to potty train, they will have bed problems later so I tried not to force it but gave incentive. She is a VERY VERY social child, as you will find out. She will probably great you with a hug and a kiss about 30 minutes after she meets you. With a child, she will probably attack them :rotfl2: She has loved other kids since she knew what they were which is really odd for an only child. Usually they tend to prefer adults. So the incentive for her to play with kids all day long 5 days a week was enough apparently. LOL I never knew I would have her in school at 4 (pre-school really but she was being taught Spanish...so to me that goes WAY beyond pre-school). Any hoo! probably more information that you cared to know :rotfl:

I have no idea how the port is laid out but from what I understand, there is only one TV terminal right? I really want to have some sort of shirt that says "Breezin' to the Bahamas!" so people will know I am with the group but I guess at 3 everyone will know! lol

Lauri-the spreadsheet sounds wonderful! I like any kind of planning tool!

I just want to say that I never meant to take any kind of leadership roll form anyone so I do not mind one bit if they want to pick it back up. I didn't want to take control but that is my nature if you hadn't noticed! :lmao:

Oh and by the way, I am thinking it will be at least $600 to upgrade. Since deciding to go to 2 cruises and fly, I am going to be tapped out! Plus, I think all the concier staterooms have already been booked so I dont see a way to upgrade. I would LOVE to have a cat 3, but I dont see "pixie dust" working for me! LOL Has anyone been "magically" upgraded from a cat 4 to a cat 3? (I am a cat 5 now)

Hi Jen

Sounds like your Victoria and my Sarah will be buds, irrespective of the 6 yr age difference. Sarah is also very social, and just amuses the living daylights out of herself (and she thinks everyone else too..lol) ;)

I think it is too funny that we have two "peanuts" cruising.....DH & I call her bean, but to Grandma she has always been peanut...and she is sooooooooooooo territorial about it..lol. I told her that there is another peanut on the boat....she told me nuh-huh...so I explained her mommy and daddy call her a monkeypeanut...so she declared that *she* is the peanut and the other little girl is the monkeypeanut...so there are NOT 2 peanuts... :rotfl::rotfl:

Gabe and Sarah have been in daycare forever, so the school incentive wouldn't work for him. *sigh* The good thing is that this weekend he will want to get changed the minute he pees even a little bit, so I'm cautiously optimistic.....just have to get his babysitter onboard...yanno.

Don't apologize..no stepped-on toes here :lovestruc Last year I tried to do the notepad thing and ended up the night before the cruise having to make up a spreadsheet because I had the same cabin but with different passengers in multiple places....so in my lurking & with your updates I've been keeping my spreadsheet pretty up to date.

For all the time we spent in the terminal last year...I can't really say that I remember the TV's. Probably because we all started with the sniffles the night before, and Gabe had a low-grade fever the morning we boarded, so I answered YES on the little health questionnaire...so we spent over an hour in a little side room waiting for the ships doctor to clear Gabe for travel.....:sad2: Never again unless I feel that someone in my travel party is actually ill.

I've seen it posted for other cruises where people either make up Tshirts or other things with the cruise name on it for embarkation day...or for the meetup. I figure that everyone will know its us because Sarah will be happily introducing herself to every and anyone...lol.

I tend to stay up late anyways...so right after midnight I'm logging in .... last year we were Cat 3 so we booked at 105 days out, and I'm hoping to get a specific time/date for Palo. We did the dinner and the brunch last year....both were fabulous....but I enjoyed the dinner so much more.

Here's some pixie dust to add to your hopes of an upgrade...(trust me, I wouldnt turn one down either..lol) :tink:

Only 4 more hours...yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

You are crazy!! I used to be a night owl...until I had a child. Now I get whatever sleep I can!

We are debating heavily on which Palo to get ressies for. I think we might try both. Brunch on one and dinner on the other. I guess brunch is only served on sea days right? I guess I will do brunch on this trip if that is true. I just hope that our reservation is not at a time that Victoria is bored with the Lab and wants to be with me. In that case, I will have to drop the ressie from 3 to 2. I hope they dont get mad about that.

What cat do you have this time? I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be able to afford cat 3. WOW! That room is just fabulous by the pictures. *sigh* oh well. I am happy with my verandah.

I have read something about that the lab and the club is basically in the same room. If that is true, then your Sarah will have a friend for life. She cracks me up how she LOVES kids younger than her. Most kids I have seen wont spend a minute with those that are younger, but adores the older ones, which doesnt spend a minute with them! LOL Victoria loves the older and the younger. If you are less than 5 ft, she is THERE! lol

I was thinking that Gabe's incentive would be to go on the big boat and play with the older kids. Oh well, I will be praying for ya! I am sure he would have a MUCH better time in the club than Flounders.

Well I will give you my ressie number and you can book mine if you want! LOL kidding!! hehe I may do the shirt if I get a chance.

Man I am exhausted. I dont know if it is the barometric pressure or what but I have had a sinus headache all day and felt...well...blah!

Oh well, it is Sunday night. Time to get ready for work tomorrow. 88 days (well, close enough!) is going to be such a long time. But I worry that week is going to totally fly by!!

Hey Don...

Well, it's just me and my DH, Bill...celebrating our 20th Anniversary. Third cruise for us but first time on DCL. So excited!:yay:

We're in Fishers...just NE of Indy. Are you guys flying out of Indy by chance. Funny if we were on the same flight, huh? We're leaving on the 25th on Air Tran. How about you guys?

Glad you were able to rejoin this cruise. We're soooooo looking forward to it. Have two teenaged girls who will keep us VERY busy between now and September!:scared1:

And I truly hope you bring that great weather with you again on our "Breezin" cruise!:thumbsup2

Exicted to meet everyone!

TJ

WELL! , congrats on #20. You will love the Wonder, will be #6 on the Wonder 4-us,We ,w/ dd had 2 Western cruises on the Magic in o6 & 09. We are flying out of Chicago on the 23rd. Going to stay 3 nights at WDW till Sun. morn. renting a car & driving to the port. Just bought some more resale points at OKW.......hope we get them in time to book for our Sept.stay. As for the town of Fisher........They have the "nices-well-rounded intersections" that I have every driven through. :lmao::rotfl2::laughing:

Whoohooo.. Palo dinner 2nd night @ 8:30. I really hope Oliver is still there, he did tell us that he might be back on the regular dining rotation this year.

Jen, this year we booked a Cat 4....the deposit onboard was next to nothing, and I was able to pay for it with my DVC points. And yes..the Cat 3 was simply....amazing.... I think it may have actually spoiled me lol, especially since we are taking an extra person along with us this time....but I'd rather be squished in any room on the Wonder than spread out stuck at home. :woohoo:

I've decided to be sneaky and enlist Sarah to nudge Gabe a bit with the potty training.....for every time she gets him onto the potty BEFORE he pee's his pants, she gets a quarter. For my little money-grubbing peanut it is THE perfect incentive....lol...she's alreaday made $1...which goes into her Mickey Boat bank.....I did register him for Flounders for Palo *just in case* but I think that with the money incentive he no longer stands a chance of being 3 and NOT potty trained..lol.

Sarah is soooooooooooooo excited to meet your Victoria. I showed her the pics on Etsy, and she's already decided that they are going to be best friends. She loves the dolly dresses and wants to know why I cant sew like that....but she was much happier when I told her that you may be making a new FE just for this cruise.

I'll work harder at checking in with our informal wish group. Got a tad bit overhappy about it being pre-ressie night and tried on my bathing suits from last year....and umm...I must say I was surprised at how much fabric shrinks when left in a suitcase for 9 months :scared1:

It's way too hot for walking outdoors, so time to dust off the trusty Wii and whip my chunky back down to thick...lol.

Time to see if I can ratchet down the omgomgomg I'm officially BOOKED and get to bed so I don't fall asleep at work tomorrow..lol.

AWww now you've started it! Victoria said "awwww I can't wait to see her too!" I can see them two being best friends. Pen Pals! that would help with her writing! lol

Love the incentive! Victoria would do that for a day, then stop. I have tried and tried to get her to do things to earn money and she wont do it. Oh well.

I have a Wii too but I dont use it mostly because I dont like doing it in front of people. I did go swimming for 1 1/2 hr Friday night and then 45 min Saturday. I didnt do anything Sunday. I just wasnt feeling well. Stupid sinus! LOL

You reminded me to make ressies but for brunch the only thing I could book was 1-2 people! What's up with that? I went ahead and made them for Mom and her friend at 10:30 so I might need a volunteer to babysit me! LOL

I can see where you would get spoiled! I figured if God wanted us to have it, He will give it to us no matter who has already booked LOL So we will see. I am truly happy with ours but having one double the size would be totally awesome.

Hope you are feeling better today. Sinus issues really suck! I'm the same way about having an audience, solved that by declaring spectator not only must participate.... They must open the curtains & the front door so that they can have an audience. That keeps the older ones out of the room. Lol

Did a 30 min workout this am. ....now it will just be a matter of doing it consistently.

The penpal idea sounds great! Or video chat. Bean is a little techno nerd. :)

Have a great Monday

Victoria LOVES playing games on the computer. Other than that, nah. And ironically, I dont have a video camera LOL I will try to get Victoria to email her. She has her own email address but never sends or receives any email (I havent checked the account in MONTHS!)

Good job on the exercise! I wont get any in today unless we go swimming. Not sure about that but you never know.

LOL! Houston, we have a problem!

Tell Grandma if she shouts peanut too loudly, ours will be turning around as well. I started calling DD "Peanut" when she was about 12 mos. Started off with "Stink-o-potamus" as I was the designated #2 diaper changer but it quickly changed to peanut and then when the curious george phase hit it was PeanutMonkey.
I typically call her "P" now as it is shorter, but sometimes I'll let out a "Peanut" and ocassionally a full fledged "PeanutMonkey".

We'll just have to share :flower3:

Seriously though, Shirley would love it! She only had boys, and Sarah is sooooooooooooooo not the "get our hair done" type...loves the dresses and high heels, but could go months without a brush touching her head if we would allow it.

So wishing for some pixie dust on the job applications. :)

I have TBL for Wii also, but seem to get much better results when I work out to the AE sports More workouts. When I'm supremely motivated I'll mix them up, the AE sports one is just so much more fun.

Jen, I'm sure that you will do fine! It's better to eat bigger portions of good food than smaller portions of fatty, greasy food. I picked up a kids picnic plate set at BigLots for like $3. The bowls are perfect for the kids, and the plates make it easier not to overdo on the portion size.

We will be relaxed, beautiful, and have a wonderful cruise - regardless if we are a bit fluffy or not!

Have a happy and safe holiday weekend! (And don't forget to pick up your Flag T-shirt from Old Navy..for every one purchased they will donate one to an active duty service person):cheer2:

Hey Jen...and everyone else...

Can we...someone...set a cutoff date for participating in the FE exchange? Wish it was tomorrow b/c I'm so anxious to finalize my FE gifts. Keep seeing so many cool things...and coming up with cool ideas...but everytime I think I know what I'm doing...I have to remember we have NO IDEA how many we are really buying for....not to mention taking into consideration the age of the kids.

Jen...can you send out an updated list...I've lost count. Does anyone have it in spread sheet form that we could keep track of...I think I saw that possibility mentioned???

And have we decided how we are doing the gift exchange??? Each family assigned one night...or everyone doing something small each night...or is that up to us individually? Maybe we can't even decide this stuff until we know who all is going!

I'm so green at this!!!:confused3

Wish we were leaving in a month!!!! But I know each day gets us closer!

Thanks for any help!!!!!! Am I wearing anyone out besides myself?!:rotfl2:

Well, my list is on my work computer and I am doing FEs on another :rotfl2: so I can't provide a list right now. I will post it tonight.

When do you guys want to have a cut off? I have a friend that is going in December and they said their cut off is next month I think. What do you guys want to do maybe the end of July? Next week? I dont care. I havent bought anything either and would love a definite list but I hate to cut it off too soon.

As far as the gifts, I say you just do what you want. If you want to do it a certain night, I dont see why that would be a problem. I know some people will think it is kinda hard to keep going to everyone's every night, but that is what I was planning on doing.

I wish we were going next month too. I said I wanted to go now....three times today already! LOL

You are not wearing anyone else out. If that were true, I wore you guys out in May! I kept posting to myself and Karen finally rescued me! :rotfl:

Anyway, let me know guys and I will get the list up later tonight.

anyone putting magnets up? I have a little tip for you. I printed some 4x6 pictures out and bought magnetic photo sleeves(2 in a pack for $1) so no need to cut out tricky images, they look great. For anything large I decide to print I will just us contact paper to laminate and add magnets to the back. Just thought I would share.

as for FE cutoff date that would be great maybe the end of the month I have my adult gifts done, I did buy extra incase we get more people, if not I get to keep some:)

have a safe and happy 4th

I agree with having a cut off...with the holiday and stuff, and how busy people get in the summer, I would make it August 1. Just my opinion.
