Now that Jersey week is under a month away, I thought it would be fun for us to "check in" and form our own little club.

I'll be at BC with DM, DS16 & DD13 Nov. 1 - 7.

Staying at SOG and hoping it's not too much more crowded than in years past.
My son used to get 2 days off this week, but now in middle school, just one. We have no off times except for holidays & summer. We will see how it goes.

This is our first family trip to Disney and the first time my husband and I have been in almost 20 years.

So, how busy can we expect Disney to be during that week? I really had never heard of Jersey Week until after our trip was planned.

4 WEEK countdown - whoo hoo!

Love the comment about last one out of New Jersey "turn off the lights."!

We always run into people we know during Jersey Week, and it's usually the same people over & over! So strange how that happens in a place as huge as WDW.

BTW - is everyone on the free DDP?

No, I booked free dining first but when the room discount came out a few days later, I changed to that instead. We're doing the QSDP as we did last May, no stressing over ADRs. :)

We're not doing the free dining, we're using the military discount and paying for dining.

Our ADR's are:

11/2 - Planet Hollywood 6:15pm
11/3 - Hollywood & Vine 8:15am
11/4 - Crystal Palace 5:35pm
11/5 - Whispering Canyon Cafe 9:30am
11/6 - Cape May Cafe - 8:55am

Our last day we are staying on a comp'd reservation, so even though we'll be there 6 nights we're only on the DDP for 5.

Our trip is Nov. 5-16. We won't do the parks on our travel days. We are still debating whether to join all you jersey folk in the parks that first weekend.

I'm not checking in...boo hoo! I just wanted to say that we went for Jersey week last year and it was AWESOME! Great weather, low-ish crowds and we got to enjoy F&W for the first time. I'm jealous! Hope you all have the BEST time!

I already checked in on Page 2 - here are our ADR's:

Nov 2 - 3:25 Sci Fi
Nov 3 - 7:45 Whispering Canyon
Nov 4 - 6:40 Biergarten
Nov 5 - 8:15 breakfast at Hollywood and Vine

Nov 6-8th we'll be at the Nick Hotel (not really by choice but we won a free stay and airfare from Parents Mag). I was delighted when I found out that neither Airtran nor Nick Hotel blacked out of those dates for award travel - fingers crossed that means crowds will be low.
At any rate, we bought hoppers for our entire length of stay, so not sure if we will hit parks after we leave CSR - Friday to Sunday. We might be beat and just hang at the hotel, or else just drop in for fireworks or repeats of favorites. Whatever my DS wants - we are going without his 18 month old little brother, so he is thrilled to not be constrained by nap times and tantrums (although our game plan is ropedrop, parks until after lunch, then hotel for rest or swimming, then back to parks.)

I believe I saw on Touring Plans so it must be a big deal, but what special incentive is offered to get people from New Jersey to come down (other than the obvious).

Alas... no Jersey Week for me but my first two trips to WDW were Jersey Week trips! Brings back great memories especially when we randomly ran into a teacher from my mom's school in line!

My ds9 has off election day and the Thursday and Friday for teachers convention so he'll only miss two days of school (which I still feel guilty about). We'll be asking for work for him to do or have him make it up when he gets back--whichever works out best for his teacher.

Our family from Emerson, NJ headed down 10/30-11/4... staying in the Nick Hotel but headed to the Not So Scary Halloween Party on Nov 1st, Universal on 11/3.
11/5 staying at the Disney resort in Hilton Head :o)

Should be a fun driving adventure with 5 yr old twins and 9 yr old son :o)

There are no special incentives to residents of NJ that I'm aware of - just a mini school break to take advantage of!

Other than Boma, which we HAVE to go to each trip, the rest are new for us. We really try to mix it up, try new things!

I have a business meeting at the Gaylord Palms on the 29th-30th and couldn't pass up the opportunity to work in some Disney time! My dad is flying in and we're going to have a father/son trip.

I had a PH res at 630 that same night, but changed it to 1900 :)

We did PH last year and really enjoyed ourselves, so decided to do it again. Last year we did lunch, so we thought why not dinner this year!

I've never done 1900 before, but it sounds like a great place! Have fun! :)

I didn't even know it was Jersey week (or even what Jersey week is if I'm honest) Does that explain why the crowd forecasts are higher then? How busy can I expect it to be?

I was thinking that all day too - "3 weeks from now we'll be...at the airport / landing / at the resort..."

Unfortunately our flight leaves Laguardia at 2:20pm, later than optimal! But it was SO much cheaper than the earlier flights, and mom is paying, so...

We arrive Sun. the first, and DHS has EMH that night until 10. Guess that's where we'll go!
On Mon. Nov. 2 MK has EMH until midnight - can't wait! :yay: Have never done nighttime in the parks.

We are flying out of Baltimore...the tickets were so much cheaper than flying out of Philly...who cares if we have to drive a little further to get to the airport...we're going to Disney!!!:cool1::thumbsup2:cool1:

You will love the parks at night. That is our favorite time to be there and the pictures are amazing...enjoy your trip!!

Don't know if everyone's heard, but there's no longer the advance order offer of $99 for the photopass CD. You have to get an email discount code sent to you.

I'm bummed, because I was waiting until a week before to order! Hoping for the code...

Steve Soares posts times starting every Sat. for the following week. That always hits us wrong since we usually go in on Sat. or Sun.

We might do Jersey Week next year. One question - my kids love the pools. Is the weather warm enough still to hang out by the pools during this time of year? I know it's probably different year to year, but generally speaking, is the weather pool-friendly?

Yes, at least it has always been for us, and this will be our 4th Jersey Week. I checked the 10 day forcast and first week of November is showing mid-80's with high humidity, says it will feel like 90's!

Woo hoo! 11 days for us! Actually 10 until we leave home, and 11 until we arrive at MCO! We are spending the night at a hotel near the airport since we have an early flight and the airport we are flying from this time is 2 hrs from our house (but had a much cheaper flight than the closest airport!)

This will be our 4th Jersey Week, so we learned to book air early - think we're paying $275 RT on Delta, 2:20pm Sunday. It was ALOT cheaper than the morning flights, so worth it.

$209 round trip out of Newark on Continental at 7:59 a.m. on Nov. 6. I booked the airfare way back in July. :)

Harrison township checking in...I have checked in before but want to again since things changed awhile back.. we will be at the poly 11/1 to 11/6! We are also flying out of Baltimore and five of us for under 900 dollars..woohoo...

World series will be going on ...that should be fun with the yankee fans and the phils!!

Now if we can just stay healthy dangit! Flu and whatever swept through our school district and have had dd12 home since last wed...although she is feeling better..trying to keep us all feeling good!!!

Crowds were low till Friday, when it picked up a bit. Epcot was PACKED Saturday afternoon - end of the Food & Wine Festival.

This was our first (but not last) visit during Jersey week....It really was not bad at all...started getting crowded towards the end of the week, but the beginning of the week was fine....looking forward to next year :thumbsup2
