The cruise sounds wonderful, I have never been on one either. DH and I are thinking of going on one for our 1 year anni. I don't remember if it stops in St. Croix, but it's pretty neat island, we did a full day snorkel trip to Buck Island that was amazing.

Oh yay!!! I'm so glad you'll be stalking me!!! I'll have to tell DF that we'll have papparazzi at the wedding :woohoo:

I'll post the picture of the bouquet when i get home i keep forgetting to do that... if you can get on facebook check it out.. its under my wedding stuff album and i think its the last picture in the album.

Our photographer is Mr. Randy Chapman! After seeing your pictures i am sooo glad i have him... your pics are amazing! :goodvibes

I'm glad your mum liked St. Maarten. I dont know alot of people who've been there, thanks for letting me know your mum liked it! DCL looks amazing! i keep sitting on their website checking out the ship and watching videos hehehe! Have you been on the magic?

Just checked out the flowers - love them!

I thought it was Randy, it'll be great to say hi to him again.

I did the wonder not the magic but they are very similar. The food is fab. Palo is to die for, book in there as much as you can.

Hiya my sweet Katie! Sorry I've missed so much as of late, but all your choices are looking beautiful, of course! I expect nothing less of you. ;)

As far as BM flowers go, I have my own preference, but who cares about that? It's all about YOU darling! The only opinion that truly counts in this is yours and Adam's. Eff all elses! If you like the flowery ball thingies the best for your girls, then go with it! It's better not to have any regrets or what-ifs when it comes to the big day I think. :thumbsup2 Besides, whatever you pick will be fabulous!

P.S. The at home reception area is just so cozy and nice looking!

Hey Ladies!!!!

It has been a while since i've last posted and i have a TON of updates. I'm in work now but when i get home i promise to post pics but here are my updates..

First i got my date and signed my LOA!!!! WOOHOO!!! it is not official i am 100% a disney bride. :woohoo:

I also went for my second dress fitting and found my BM dresses for my sisters! :thumbsup2

I booked something for the wedding that i am super excited about... i dont want to tell you what it is without posting a picture of it but a little hint to keep you guessing until later.... it has to do with my transportation to and from the ceremony. :goodvibes

I am still waiting to get assigned a planner but it'll be two weeks since i sent in my LOA with the deposit tomorrow so you know i'll be emailing my consultant like a crazy lady if i dont hear anything soon!

Those are the major updates. But i have a question for you ladies.... Where I am an escape bride there was something new i noticed on the disney weddings website and here on the DIS. If escape brides want to have any private events they need to spend atleast 7500$. I asked my consultant if that applied to me and she said because it was a new change that it didn't effect me and that since it wasn't in the LOA i signed i was all set. But i am still alittle worried about this where i know some of you other escape brides that are getting married in 2010 are having issues with this. I was trying to keep everything under 6500$ since we are spending other money on Randy, Rev Jack, BS for hair and makeup, ect. Anyone else have any information on this new change? :confused3

Yay, your back! I got my planner in less than a week, it probably just depends how busy they are right now.

The new minimum thing is crazy, but from my experience, if you are firm on something, Disney will cooperate. Since you didn't know going into this that this would happen, they should understand. However, I do want to warn you, from my experience, that prices add up FAST, so don't be surprised if you end up spending that much.

oh i'm sure it will add up alot lol. We are trying not to have little decorations at the DP because honestly who sees it anyway, and as far as SBP we are just doing some rose petals down the aisle and possibly petal cones on the chairs for the staged exit.... other than that i think SBP is beautiful just the way it is :)

I think i might email my consultant this afternoon if i dont hear anything. I'm sure they're busy though... it seems like jan-march is a pretty busy time for weddings. I'm just itching to start planning stuff! hehehe

We dropped our decor at our DP as well...it was about $100, and ya, that isn't a lot, but that money can be put towards something else.

I would email your consultant, just give them a little nudge that you are ready to go!

p.s. congrats on the canadian hockey win!!! ;)

Thanks! I think all of Canada is hungover today :lmao: It also means I have to get a tattoo ( I have wanted a maple leaf for awhile, and I said if they win hockey, I would get one)

congrats on becoming an official Disney bride!!!! :cool1: It took me over a week, maybe 2 to get my planner...I'm sure you will get "the call" soon.

If the minimum isn't in your LOA, it shouldn't affect you at all. You're so lucky to have signed it before the new rule was put into place!! It's really outrageous.

Yea, i emailed her back on Tuesday of last week and she said probably in the next couple days. I think this constitutes as longer than a couple days.. man i'm impatient! :rolleyes1 Yea any little bit helps so the least amount of decor the better... i mean really who notices that anyway

hahaha i think alot of the united states is hungover too! very cool you're getting a maple leaf tattoo! you'll have to share pics when you get it! :thumbsup2

I'm sure i'll be hearing soon... do you get a phone call or an email??

I hope you're right about the minimum... i dont think its fair and i feel bad for those brides who are dealing with it. :sad2: If anything they should start it with the new brides who are inquiring about disney weddings. not ones who have already started the planning process and been in touch with consultants.

Actually mine took nearly a month, i've just looked back at my e-mails, 30th April was my 8 month mark and Kathleen first e-mailed me on the 27th May.

Kathleen actually called me to apologize for the wait (we were told by Diane that we should receive a call within a week, it took over a week) and to set up a time to talk more in depth. After the initial phone convos, we've just been emailing back and forth.

So as promised i have some pics to go along with my recent update...

Here are the bridemaids dresses. One of my sisters was giving me a hard time (and still is) but whatever... atleast my youngest sister was happy!
This isn't the color but this is the dress... it will be in navy blue (marine in DB lingo) with an ivory sash

Can you tell which sister was having the most fun that day?!

Here are some pics from my dress fitting... i wasn't thrilled about this fitting because my veil was suposed to be dyed to match the color of my dress and the women "forgot", and they were half an hour behind and i was rushed in and out to get her back on track.... ugh

I have to tell ya ladies that these pics REALLY made me want to get back on the diet and exercise kick... ugh BACK FAT! So yea did 30 mins of cardio today and counted all my caloires! :cheer2:

And last but not least.... my favorite update is this......

I love the BM dresses! I think they will look great in the right colors and maybe your other sister will come around. I think the dress looks great on both of them.

That stinks that she didn't dye your veil this time, but at least you noticed that now. Your dress looks beautiful on you!

Love the rolls and the color!

I can't believe that you still haven't been assigned a planner though:confused3 I can book in just over a month so it helps to know a little bit about what to expect. I checked out the new bouquet on your FB and I love it- I think it's the perfect mix for you and I say that if you prefer the pomanders then GO FOR IT! I LOVE the pink rolls too. I think the bridesmaids dresses are perfect and that they really complement your dress- I'm not really sure what your sister is upset about with them but I"m sure she will come around. Oh and the tuxes look great too! It's really coming along- congrats on everything!

Another small update.... Df and I sat down today and discussed what we'd like to do for ADR's. Going out to eat while in disney is one of our favorite things to do! we try and save by not going out to eat so much at home so being able to eat out every night on vacation is extra special! :thumbsup2
Here is what we've come up with.....

Thursday Sept. 30th is the day we arrive... we'll probably be catching an early flight, check in, spend the day by the AKL pool, get our Annual passes and not much else. So we decided to eat at Jiko that night. I'm SUPER excited about it... i've heard such amazing things about Jiko! :woohoo:

Friday October 1st day before the wedding.... Most of our guests will be arriving this day. We wanted to have one meal with everyone so here is the plan. I'm going to make an ADR for Boma for everyone. I'm going to send out a little note that this is a "come if you want to" dinner and i'll write this little note

"This is not an "official wedding event." Therefore, if you would like to attend, please be aware that everyone is responsible for their own food/beverage costs. Please be sure to sign the RSVP for this event if you would like to attend so we have an idea of how many people to expect. Hope to see you there!!"

We would have liked to have paid for it but we just can't. I feel really bad about not being able to but hey we're paying for the wedding ourselves!

the other good thing about having the meal at Boma is that it gives anyone staying at another resort the chance to figure out how to get there for make-up/hair/pics/ect.

Saturday October 2nd - wedding day we aren't making any ADR's because we're going to be having the meal and DP after the ceremony.

Sunday October 3rd... We decided that after October 3rd we'd be letting everyone know that the cell phones are being turned off and we will be officially on our honeymoon. Most people will be staying until atleast Sunday anyway so this shouldn't be a problem. But i want to be able to have alone time with DF. So to kick off our honeymoon we are going to make an ADR for Cali Grill  SUPER excited about here too! I'm going to try and get a table for fireworks time!

Monday October 4th... We decided on Beirgarten... DF REALLY wants to eat here since he has german heritage. (and by german heritage i mean great great great grandparent twice removed :lmao: ) But considering his last name (and my soon to be last name) is german i let him have this one

Tuesday October 5th... sci fi drive in.... We tried to get in here on our last trip but we couldn't and we were both pretty upset. This time we'll be ready with an ADR!

Wend. October 6th... Whispering Canyon... we kind of picked here on a whim. We didn't want to do anything that we've already tried before (with the exception of BOMA) and while going through all the disney restaurants we saw this and decided to give it a try. We love the wilderness lodge (got engaged there) and I really want DF to ask for ketchup! :rotfl2:

Thurs. October 7th.... last full day at disney! :sad1: .... We decided on another place on a whim... We're going to give Chef's De Paris a try. :thumbsup2 I've heard alot of great things about it and what better way to spend the last full day then in Paris! the city of LOVE! :lovestruc

Ok what do you think? Good ADR's?? We have both Coral reef and Le Cellier as back up incase any of the ones we've picked were all booked up since we loved those restaurants from our last trip.

All sounds great hun, although i am embarassed to say we have been going to Disney for the past 4 years and never eaten at Disney restaurant. Not sure why actually. Are we missing out?

We would like to go somewhere the night before with our guests but can't decide where?

Katie! One recommendation for Germany-- Go for Lunch instead of dinner. The buffet is virtually the same and it's half the price at lunch. Just thought I'd let you know! :thumbsup2 Oh and WCC is fun, really casual (like pony races around the restaurant and napkin twirling), but fun!

Well to us going out to eat in orlando is like going out to eat at home... we have all the same restaurants here so we like doing ths disney places because we can only do them when we are there. :cutie:

As far as where to take your geusts before i would so if you dont want to rent out a space to do it at a buffet... it seems they can accomodate more guests AND you will know how much it'll cost in advanced. If you want to rent out a space there were some really nice small rooms available at Bluezoo at the swan and dolphin. Hope that helps! :goodvibes

Thanks for that piece of advice!!!! Sincer we're doing the dining plan we'll be using up two points to go to Cali Grill so w were planning on paying for beirgarten out of pocket.... but if lunch is cheaper and the food is the same we're going for lunch! :thumbsup2

I've heard WCC is fun! We like seeing all that quirky stuff they do with the kids... we get a good laugh out of it! And we love the wilderness lodge so it'll be nice to go over there and take a nice walk through the resort after dinner :goodvibes

:sad2: i need to have a mini vent session.....

Now that we have a planner and things are starting to move forward i'm feeling extremely overwhelmed and i am dealing with more drama than anything else....

The sister that was acting like a witch (you know what i really want to call her) during the dress fitting and BM dress shopping has been causing nothing but problems. we got into a massive fight via text message and we haven't spoken since. I had texted her and said to her that i felt bad this was causing her so much stress and that if she really was worried about the money it was costing her than it was alright with me if she didn't want to be in the wedding and that maybe she could do a speech or something to be involved in another way. Well she took this as a direct attack on her and it wasn't pretty ugly. I finally just said "look i dont want to fight are you in the wedding or not, i dont care either way" she didn't reply and still hasn't spoken to me... that was 2 weeks ago. I think she wants me to make up her mind for her so she can go crying to everyone in the family and tell them that i "kicked" her out of the wedding. Can we say MASSIVE headache!!!!

The other blow i had to deal with was the pink rolls. I was soooo excited about this you have no idea. I dont really want to get into it on here but long story short we arent getting it. :sad1: The people involved tried to help me out but it just wasn't going to happen so sadly no pink rolls.

On top of all that DF's family is causing some issues. they dont want to lift a finger... they want me to book their flights, rent their DVC points for them, get their park tickets, ect. I understand this isn't really that big of a deal and i'll gladly do it but its just more work for me! Dont get me wrong i love DF to death but he SUCKS when it comes to all of this planning. i've spoken to my planner twice already... the first time he didn't really care and wasn't even home, the second time i told him i wanted him involved and i wanted to put him on the phone with her to introduce himself and be an involved groom but nope he didn't want to do that either. When it came down to booking Randy, or rev jack day, he didn't do any of it... just said "whatever you want". So i've been doing everything and now he wants me to do everything for his family. :faint: Oh! and never mind the tux rentals! i told him i contacted CA and i showed him the forms he needs to fill out and how his groomsmen (which he has THREE now) need to get measured ect. and his response.... "i'll get the measurements but can you fill out the forms and get the tux information for me?"

ugh ok i'm done venting... sorry for all of that... i'm just overwhelmed and i need to take one thing at a time. i'll get it done!

anyway onto happy stuff... i have a meeting with rosie at disney floral on tuesday, how does all that work? I have pictures of stuff i like do i send them to her and see what she can do?

Its not so much doing the work for them... i mean i love planning all things disney, i swear i was a travel agent in another life! Its just that i have nobody helping me with planning and to throw that ontop of everything else just got me really overwhelmed. I just get really stressed out..

But in good news i did book the flights to orlando :woohoo: We talked with FDMIL about renting DVC points and while talking to her about that we got into discussing flights... me, DF, DF's two brothers, and DF's mum and dad are all flying down together out of boston. I'm now breathing a sigh of relief!

I'm trying to let things just fall into place. I'm glad we got the flights booked :thumbsup2 I also put DF in charge of getting the transportation for all of us to the airport. He agreed to that so i'm thankful.

I dont know what to do about my sister. I still haven't heard from her and i dont agree with her actions AT ALL! I'm trying really hard not to be a bridezilla and to be as nice as possible but its getting pretty difficult. You're so right scarlet. It wont matter. I'm going to just focus on us and what we're doing. They can either join in on the fun or just show up to the wedding and then go home. It doesn't matter to me as long as DF and I are happy and enjoying our day :bride:

In some good news DF's family are all set! they are staying at AKL with us and are on the same flight. So we'll be traveling all the way from home to the resort together  It'll be fun to show them what its like to fly (other than DF and his dad, nobody has flown before) and to show them how to get to the ME and check in to a disney resort! (none of them have stayed on property!) My aunt called me last night and told me she booked the same flight as us! :woohoo: She'll be meeting us at the airport and she actually picked her seat and it happened to be two rows infront of us.

Oh and i have my first phone meeting with Rosie at disney floral today! So excited for that! I'm gathering all my thoughts and inspiration pictures :thumbsup2 I dont know if i mentioned this before or not but i have a quesition...

my colors are navy blue and fuschia, so the boys and BMs are going to be in navy blue tuxes and dresses, they'll all have fuschia flowers. What are your thoughts on adding a bright yellow accent color? I was thinking of doing like lurkyloo did and have the rose petals down the aisle be the accent color and then for the petal toss. What are your thoughts on that? too much? I was thinking it would brighten up the ceremony and who doesn't love a bright sunny yellow? Be honest! I can take the cirticism! :flower3:

Hey ladies!!!

I just got off the phone with rosie! SHE IS AMAZING! so nice and what a great personality she had! She definitely had me forgetting all the drama and had me totally focused on the good stuff! :goodvibes

So here is my bouquet:

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii189/krloco821/wedding%20attire/Pink-Bouquet.jpg

To save my some money we are getting rid of the calla lilies (no biggie) and its only going to cost me 50$ extra to upgrade it :thumbsup2

The groom and groomsmen bouts:

For those of you who aren't my friend on facebook (which you should be) I posted about how DF informed me that he decided he didn't like the gerbera daisy bouts.... he said "they remind me of the clowns that say come smell my flower and then squirt you with water." :rolleyes1 Love how DF doesn't get involved in much but apparently had a flower preference... whatever so i did some research online before i talked with rosie and DF and I decided on these

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii189/krloco821/wedding%20attire/large_image-1.jpg

They will be in the bright fuchsia like in my bouquet with the hydrangea around the base. I actually thought this was really pretty and even though its not the gerbera daisies i wanted i'm ok with it.

BM bouquet.....er..... pomanders:

I KNOW some of you (and my BM's) dont like pomanders... so please no yelling at me :guilty: I just LOVE pomanders AND they will also be used as centerpieces at SCP which means i'll be saving $$. Oh and Rosie happens to like them so there! :snooty: (just kidding! ;) )

Given the fact that the bouts won't be the daisies i had to change around my idea a bit and thank goodness for rosie on this one because i was kind of lost. This is what we came up with

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii189/krloco821/wedding%20attire/532418_kekesbouquet0282jpg.png

They are hydrangea pomanders and roise will add in about 4-6 tea roses into it so that it all ties in with the boys bouts and my bouquet. :goodvibes

Other things we decided on for the ceremony:

we are doing fuchsia and bright yellow rose petals down the aisle
fuchsia and yellow petals on the sand ceremony table
and petal cones on the back of the chairs with the fuchsia and yellow rose petals in them for the exit

Things we picked for the reception:

(since we can't book SCP yet this is all speculation)

We will be renting two tall thin vases filled with stones and we'll be placing the pomanders on top. These will go on each side of the roman table

We'll also be renting a small vase filled with bead to go in the center of the table to hold my bouquet

To add a little romance we'll be adding 4 votive LED candles to the table going in between each vase :lovestruc

All together its not going to be that much either! I added up everything and its going to be about $530 for everything

What do you girls think? she offered me more decorations for SBP but i dont think it needs it... SBP is so pretty as it is, i dont want to over do it.

Oh, I love the flowers soooo much...especially your bouquet! It makes me wish I was having something more girly! I'm glad you are having good luck with Rosie. Your lucky you got to talk to her so quickly and actually got prices. I got all of that like a month ago, and that was because I kept emailing my planner asking for it.

Okay, sorry, won't load my drama on here! I like all your ideas for decor...and it is a good way to reuse those pomanders!

I'm sorry hun! I wonder why it took you so long to get prices and stuff :confused3

I'm glad you like my bouquet... once i saw it i was obsessed with it! I found it accidentally believe it or not! funny when things happen that way :upsidedow

I love your bouquets and the boutineers. and I think the pomanders are really cute and they'll look good on the tables.

Thank you! :cutie:

Really like your colour scheme hun, and your bouquet will be gorgeous!

Rachel

Thanks Rach!! :goodvibes

I'm getting so excited! i'm still on a hunt for a navy blue, fuchsia, and yellow inspiration board but as soon as i find one i'm posting it! I'm so excited to see it all come together! :yay:

Loveeee your floral choices! Isn't it starting to feel more "real" now! I am so excited for you!

It is!!! Right after i got off the phone with Rosie my aunt called to let me know that the boardwalk is all booked (as a wedding gift she is letting me use her DVC points for the honeymoon portion of the trip) :thumbsup2 Its strange how everything seems to be happening all at once! Gets me alittle nervous but in a good way! ;)

i'm glad you like the floral! I was so upset when DF said no gerbera daisies so i did second guess doing these but the more i look at them and try to imagine it i think it'll be perfect!

It looks like things are really coming together for you, I love all your floral ideas, very classy yet creative! I agree totally with you about Rosie she did the same for me, I was lost on a few ideas and she was very good at making suggestions and describing how it would look and what it would cost etc... I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Looking forward to reading more!

She really did help me out alot! She said she'd be emailing me some pictures to use as a reference too :thumbsup2 Can't wait to get those and start showing them off! hahaha

I told her i wanted to get a fresh flower to put in my hair... i originally wanted a white gerbera daisy but i dont know if it'll look funny since really the only gerbera daisies will be in my bouquet. She said she thinks i could still get away with it since i'll be holding them... but she is also going to email me some other flowers in different hair styles to help me make that decision. :woohoo:

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii189/krloco821/wedding%20attire/FL010006-763873.jpg

Obviously not rose petals (i think they're plumeria) but this is the bright pop of color i'm looking for! :thumbsup2

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii189/krloco821/wedding%20attire/17010.jpg

These wll be on the chairs... the ribbon will be a solid fuchia and the petals inside will be the bright yellow and fuchsia

As a refresher here are the navy blue suits the guys will be wearing

I love the pomanders... i know they aren't everyones cup of tea but i think they add something alittle different to a bridal party. A little bit off eye candy if you will. :cutie: And it will be really pretty to use them as the centerpieces at the DP.

Quick little update....

I got the call from Davids bridal that both the BM dresses and the sashes have arrived! woohoo!!! I texted both my sisters to let them know and see if they could meet me there for pick them up on monday but of course neither one can. (typical) So i'm going to get them myself on monday after work and i'll keep them at my house until they can come get them. As soon as i can i'll post pics of them for you. So excited to see them in the correct colors! hehehe

Just wanted to pop by and play a bit of catch up. :goodvibes Looove the floral you decided on! If I wasn't such an avid fan of orchids, I definitely would have included hydrangeas in my floral too. They're very pretty. :thumbsup2 Yay for the BM dresses being in!! Love the visuals you posted, dear! All that color will be so prettiful. :teeth:

Hi Katie! Just getting all caught up! Looks like things have really come together. When in the process did you find out you had Rosie for floral... I had my trial with Patricia this week and she said Rosie is THE BEST! Your ADR's look great- we ate at a few of them this past week Biergarten and Whispering Canyon and loved them both!
