Hello everyone! We just returned from 2 weeks at the World...
Let me introduce myself...
I am Toni... I am 28 years old... Mother to 2, wife to 1... I love to plan anything, making lists is my hobby... Lover of all things Disney... Had a Mickey Mouse bedroom as a teen... Yeah, I am cool like that...
DH... Terry... Also 28, but I am 6 months older then him, just thought I would say it before he did... Hard worker, loves Disney World as much as I do now... Likes to play video games when I am not nagging at him to do something else... Has ventured into the world of photography and I must say, he is getting pretty good...
Here is a pic of Terry and I at Epcot last year...

DS... Alec... Just turned 10... Lover of rides, animals, video games, WWE, and the Oregon State Beavers...
DD... Tailor... 5 years old, soon to be 6... Lover of any animal, dolls, and food! Sweet when she wants to be, but watch out if she is in a mood!!!

I always take a ton of pictures, but they won't be nearly as good as yours, I have a little Sony Cybershot, but you two make me want to get a better camera. I can't wait for the kids to see "snow" falling on Main Street at the Christmas Party!

I know, we are huge slackers!!! Terry's grandma is flying in today, I have to leave in a while to drive up to Portland to get her... But after we get her settled and Terry gets home from work and visits with her for a little bit, I will try and get our departure day typed out... Terry took no pictures that day so it will be lacking visual effects, but at least we will get it done!
looking forward to seeing more

Well, there is one obvious choice that would match the one I texted you about for Terry... :rolleyes1 But honestly, we are not even sure we will go to the Halloween party at all cause by the time Terry gets off work and we have dinner and take the kids trick or treating then head to the party we will only have about 1 1/2 or 2 hours until we go home cause Terry has to get up for work at 4am... Not sure it's worth the 150 dollars it would cost me right now! And he won't be able to drink, and with costumes like that, he would need the booze!!

Ha Ha!!! You freaking crack me up! LOL!!! :lmao: I totally just realized Halloween is on a Saturday this year!!! And of course that's Devon's weekend with his dad!! :guilty: So sad! I don't blame you for bailing on the party if you can only be there for 1 1/2! And I agree with costumes like that, you definitely need some alcohol in you!!!

On the day of our departure to the airport hotel, Terry had to work 11a-8p...
We got all the last minute stuff packed, set up the laptop to use my blackberry as a modem... Cleaned the house and did the last bit of laundry...
Our printer ran out of ink as we printed the first boarding pass... :scared1: SO for the next 45 minutes Terry tried to figure out a way to get them printed while being too cheap to actually buy the ink cartridge... He had just upgraded out windows to Vista so our lazor jet wouldn't work and he couldn't get them to print off his Dad's printers next door... So after me threatening bodily harm for the first time this trip, he finally went and bought the ink cartridge... We are not even on the road yet and El Cheapo has reared his ugly head... :headache:
At this point it is time to take Terry to work, so I become the worst mother on the planet, and I lie to my daughter... Daddy's truck won't start and we have to take him to work... She bought it and even shed a few tears for Daddy's truck...
Once we got home from dropping Terry off at work, we got Tailor's room all cleaned up and vacuumed the house, cleaned bathrooms... You know, the fun stuff... ;) Then I started loading the van... Made sure the hotel address was in Ellie Mae, our Garmin...
I was all set and ready by 2... I watched TV until 3:30 when Alec got home, helped him get his room cleaned, homework done, and unload his backpack and reload it with his plane entertainment... By 4:30 I was ready to leave Terry behind and have him meet us at the hotel when he got off work... :rotfl:
I spent the next hour and a half watching TV and DISing... At 6pm, Terry calls and says, "Come get me!" :woohoo: His Captain was probably tired of hearing him talk about vacation! :lmao: So I throw the kids in the car and lied to Alec about the whole truck/luggage thing... I drove like a wild woman to pick him up... I packed an extra set of clothes so he could change and not be in his uniform all night, so after he changes, we head to Wendy's and have a very healthy meal of hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets, and baked potatoes...
We jumped on I-5 and it was smooth sailin'... We got to the hotel at PDX about 7:30, and by the time we got checked in, unloading the million bags out of the van and got it parked in long term parking, it was a little after 8...
We threw on our bathing suits and went to the pool... The kids love swimming and they had a blast... We swam for about an hour... We even sat in the hot tub for a few minutes but that water was HOT!!!
Once we got back to the room and all got our pj's on, we realized we were all a little hungry... I can never eat before traveling, so this was new for me... I am normally throwing up by this point... The kids were bouncing off the walls, so we decided to head to Papa's Pizza since they have a huge indoor playland and they are open until midnight...
Ellie Mae took us right to it, and we order salad bars and bread sticks... The kids took off and played, they were the only 2 in there... I guess we are the only bad parents who had their kids out after 10p on a school night... :confused3
Food was good, just enough to hold us over until morning, and the kids wore themselves out enough that they fell asleep after getting back into their pj's and watching cartoons for just a few minutes...
Our wake up call was set for 3am... My cell phone was set for 2:45am and Terry's cell phone was set for 3:10... We were not going to over sleep! Or were we???
Next up: How long is this flight???? Seriously....

Welcome aboard! Wow, you read the whole PTR!!! That is impressive...

Okay, for those of you that read the PTR, you know my brother recently left for Aghanistan...
Well, I thought I would update on him real quick...
I finally got to talk to him on Wednesday for the first time... It's always been my Mom or Dad that has heard from him, so this was awesome... :)
He was on his 1st day off in 23 days! Yikes... He is working 14 hour days and is never sure as to when he will get a day off...
He sounds really good... Has gotten our packages and is a lot more comfortable with the pillows and blankets that were sent out... He is sharing all the gum, cookies, chapstick, beef jerky and candy that Mom and I are sending...
His birthday is next week so Terry and I bought him a new PSP game since that is the only game system he has over there... Tailor and I will bake a bunch of cookies and brownies and package them up and ship them by the end of the week so he has them...
He said the one thing he can't do that he wants to be able to do is watch the new episodes of Heroes and House... Terry is working on that one...
I miss him like crazy but it makes me feel so much better to be able to hear his voice...

:headache:
Sorry, I'm sure it wasn't funny and the time, but
At this point it is time to take Terry to work, so I become the worst mother on the planet, and I lie to my daughter... Daddy's truck won't start and we have to take him to work... She bought it and even shed a few tears for Daddy's truck...
:lmao:
Once we got home from dropping Terry off at work, we got Tailor's room all cleaned up and vacuumed the house, cleaned bathrooms... You know, the fun stuff... ;) Then I started loading the van... Made sure the hotel address was in Ellie Mae, our Garmin...
How funny that you named the GPS! When we were in Nice, Tigger named the GPS "Junklies" (the voice on the GPS was John Cleese - the boy heard Junklies and that was that LOL). Has your GPS been to Beverly? Hills, that is. Swimming pools and movie stars. :rotfl:
I was all set and ready by 2... I watched TV until 3:30 when Alec got home, helped him get his room cleaned, homework done, and unload his backpack and reload it with his plane entertainment... By 4:30 I was ready to leave Terry behind and have him meet us at the hotel when he got off work... :rotfl:
I soooooo know how you felt!
Bahahahahaha!
I drove like a wild woman to pick him up... I packed an extra set of clothes so he could change and not be in his uniform all night, so after he changes, we head to Wendy's and have a very healthy meal of hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets, and baked potatoes...
Hey, the baked potatoes were healthy
We threw on our bathing suits and went to the pool... The kids love swimming and they had a blast... We swam for about an hour... We even sat in the hot tub for a few minutes but that water was HOT!!!
Great way to start your vacation! :woohoo:
Ellie Mae took us right to it, and we order salad bars and bread sticks... The kids took off and played, they were the only 2 in there... I guess we are the only bad parents who had their kids out after 10p on a school night... :confused3
Nope, it's not just you! :rolleyes1
Our wake up call was set for 3am... My cell phone was set for 2:45am and Terry's cell phone was set for 3:10... We were not going to over sleep! Or were we???
You do that too? I set multiple alarms for important stuff :upsidedow
Next up: How long is this flight???? Seriously....
Yep, it sure does seem really really long, doesn't it?! :headache:

Today is the day we have been waiting for!!! We're going to Disney World!!!:banana::banana:
I was out of bed by 2:45am... Got showered and cleaned up followed by Terry... We got the kids done the night before so we would not have to wake them any earlier then needed...
WAKE UP SLEEPY HEADS!!! IT'S GO TIME!!! :cool1:

One we were ready and all packed up, the kids saw something by the door... What could it be?? Why, a Tink fart of course... :tinker:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2501/3987896557_2a7d1dcf75_b.jpg
They thought it was the coolest thing that Tink gave them video games for the plane ride...
Terry left to take our overnight bag out to the van, while the kids and I attempted to get a luggage cart and load our massive amount of bags onto it... Alec went to take the elevator down to get the luggage cart, well, he shows back up a minute later without a luggage cart... Says that the elevator is broken it never came up to the second floor to get him... I look at him for a second, dumbfounded, cause I have to lug 10 bags down a flight of stairs at the opposite end of the corridor, then all of the sudden he goes, OH! Opps, I forgot to push the button... :rolleyes1
So, down he goes to get the luggage cart, we get it loaded and into the elevator, while Tailor is whining the whole time that she is tired... T.S. sister, we all are. Keep on movin'...
Terry meets us in the lobby and we wait a few minutes for the shuttle van to pull up... It's just us and a lady who has sold everything she owed to move to England to start over again... She was very nice, but you could tell she was nervous... I would have been too!
We arrived at the airport at 4am. Got our luggage tags from the Delta counter and gave them our checked bags. We made our way to our gate and got comfortable, then Terry went got us breakfast... It was very good, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and biscuits... I normally can't eat before traveling but I was starving! This trip was a lot different for me, my nerves never got out of whack... It was so nice!
Our flight boarded 30 minutes before departure, and we flew out on time. I sat by the window with Alec beside me, while Terry was behind Alec with Tailor behind me... Next to Alec was a lady who had 2 companion dogs with her... They were too cute and they took a liking to Alec and he cuddled with them and they napped on his lap... About 2 hours before we landed in Atlanta, Tailor realized there were puppies up with us so she traded me seats and sat by her brother. The kids did really well sitting together... Terry was able to snap a few photos out the window...

Our flight landed 15 minutes late in Atlanta, only leaving us 15 minutes to get to our next gate before boarding the new plane... We got off the plane and our stroller was not there... We are told to go up to the gate... We do, no stroller... Terry asks the Delta agent and she says to go back down the ramp and it will get there, now we were not in the front of the plane by any means, I have always had the strollers waiting for me when I got off a plane... So Terry turns to go down the ramp and a TSA agent yells at him in a huge attitude that if he takes another step he will be breaching security... He asks how he will get his stroller... She starts lecturing about national security and how it is no laughing matter... By this point Terry is getting irritated, he was just doing what he was told to do by Delta people, so he asks again how she would like him to get his stroller, she replies, "Not by you breaching security and missing your next flight dealing with it..." He says, "Are YOU going to go get my stroller??" By this point the Delta agent has heard all of it, apologizes to Terry and asks the TSA agent if she can go retrieve our stroller and that because of the pouring down rain the guys are not working on the ground getting them, so it's not Terry's fault, he was following the directions of the other Delta agent at the plane doors... So the TSA lady huffs and puffs and says fine, so the Delta lady is gone a few minutes, and the TSA lady decides she wants to be friendly now... Anyway, we get our stroller and we are hustling to get to the next gate which is not even remotely close to where our previous flight landed...
We get there and they are already boarding... There are 2 TSA guys checking ID's and boarding passes, they have 2 lines going and people are just kinda forming into 2 lines when they get to that point, not really organized at all... So Delta calls for all rows to board and a huge mob goes up there, and we are in the middle of it, well one of the TSA guys decides to stop checking ID's right when me and the kids are in front of him with our stuff out and ready... He yells at me that there are not 2 lines! I'm like, okay, where do you want me to go? I have at least 40 to 50 people behind me and all around me... He starts yelling at everyone that the line goes to the left... Dude, there are rows of chairs to the left.. :confused3 How are all of these people going to line right there? It was obvious that we were all where the line should be forming, but noone was in a "formed" line... Terry got irritated cause the guy yelled at me and the kids... And for him this was strike 2 with rude TSA people... So he mouths off and I give him the look of death that says, I will leave your butt behind if they decide to pull you into a room and strip search you... He says something to the extent that if both guys would check the documents like they were before that things would be running smoother... He TSA guy piped off with "Are you trying to tell me how to do my job???" Terry responds, "Well if you did things more efficiently maybe you wouldn't need to yell at people who are just following what you guys have been having them do for the last 15 minutes..." Oh how the TSA guy didn't like that one... All I could think of was Meet the Parents... "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb... Bomb, Bomb, Ba-Bomb..." People ended up getting in between Terry and I and I had his boarding pass... :scared1: Luckily the lady at the gate scanning the boarding passes knew he was with me and that I had his pass and she had already scanned it... I didn't even realize he wasn't with us until he met us on the plane...
Flight to MCO was nice, way shorter then the flight from PDX to ATL... We landed on time at 4:25pm... We made our way down to the Magical Express Area and walked right onto a bus... It was a FULL bus too... This is when the kids starting getting excited... :yay::yay:

We got lucky and we were the 1st stop on Magical Express!!
Here is our first glimpse of Pop...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3430/3988657372_af5acb3485_b.jpg
We arrived at Pop about 5:30 which I didn't think was too bad since we landed at 4:25...
We got in line and there was nobody in front of us, we had done the online check in, so we only had to get our folder... We had paid for a preferred room, and got the very last one in the 70's section... 4th floor, room 6401... The people in the room on the other side of the giant Mickey phone was considered non-preferred... O-well, being there for 2 weeks, it was worth the money to me to guarantee a room not far away from everything... We really liked the location, it was quiet and being on the 4th floor, nobody was up there unless they needed to be...
We got our bags to the room and Terry went in search of our 2 cases of water we had ordered, and the box of snacks we had shipped... I started unpacking everything... What a job that was!
Pop brought up the medical fridge for me, and it was the standard fridge that they rent out... This ended up being a good thing because the fridge I snagged on the swap had gone missing... I tried for the 2 weeks we were there to locate it but no such luck...
We were all starving at this point so we headed down to the food court for dinner... Alec got a pizza, Terry got nachos, I got chicken alfredo, and Tailor just ate off of ours and stole my chocolate cake!!! I love the chicken alfredo and that was a meal I ate a few times during the trip...
Now, last year, Alec bought a refillable mug on the first day we got there... He also bought one for his sister, every once in a while they are nice to each other.. :cloud9: So, this year, she wanted to buy one for him... It was so cute... She was so excited when she went and got them and brought his to him... It was almost like the horns that stick out of her head went back in a little...
We headed back to the room and I finished unpacking, then we all got ready to head to the Hippy Dippy pool...
You should all feel very special because I hate having my picture taken, but you will actually see pictures of me in the report... And if any of you have weak stomachs, look away now, cause I am in a bathing suit! :scared1::eek::scared1:

After about an hour and a half in the pool, we decided to head back to the room... We headed in the direction of the little kiddie pool with the pop up jets...

After the kiddie pool, we got back to the room and got all cleaned up and ready for bed... We had an early morning at Crystal Palace!
When I went to climb into bed, I found someone had stolen my spot!! The nerve of a rude person to get all into my nice clean sheets... And to top it off, my husband was in my bed... So I did what any normal wife would do, call the person a homewrecker and grab them by the hair and drag them out of the bed... Here is the floozy now... :headache:

Great, great pictures so far! You guys have already captured some great moments! Looking forward to seeing more.
Don't get me started with TSA. While I believe there are some nice (and good) TSA agents out there, I have come across so many that seem to abuse the "power/authority" they have (and the guys at MCO are the WORST). I'd like to know how the TSA screens for new agents.
(bomb ba-ba-bomb, ba-bomb-ba-bomb-bomb) - :lmao: that's a great scene!

OK, let's see if I remember what I meant to post
Adorable pictures of the kids and the Tink fart (LOL) at the hotel! Poor Alec, a wee bit tired that morning, methinks!
Sorry about the rude TSA agents - honestly, WHY do some of them feel it's in their job description to be so bloody rude?!
I'm glad you managed to catch your connection alright - boy, did I stress about that beforehand!
I  the ME video too - it's like the official start of vacation! Nice ME mojo :thumbsup2
Bummer your fridge swap didn't work out :sad2: How sweet that the kids bought each other mugs :goodvibes
I hate having my picture taken too (perhaps despise is a better word for how I feel about that!). You, however, look lovely in the pictures princess:
Hilarious pictures in the kiddie pool - nice J tribute too :lmao:
That Jordan sure gets around! I believe he's slept with Winkers' dh too - darn that floozy :rotfl:
Yep, that time difference is RUDE the first morning! :scared1:

For those of you....cough...Lisa & Toni....cough, who don't like getting your picture taken, please make sure you get alot of you and your kids. I say this because I have absolutley zero of me and my mom. She died when I was 15 months old and was sick from the time I was a newborn, so no one ever took any of us together.
So, because of that I've always made sure there are alot of me with my kids. I'm sure I'll do something else that will send them to years of therapy....

Just getting caught up on your trip report. We are leaving in 2 weeks for POP and I'm getting excited. We have never stayed at a value. But we couldn't pass up the free dining and cheap airfare. We were going to stay moderate but have put that money towards are cruise for next year. Can't wait for your next update.

Toni was so mad at me when I made those comments... I do not handle people being rude very well.... In my job, I am used to calling people on their actions, and that isn't always the best idea :rolleyes1

Hey I am here and Just got all caught up......my hubby loses it EVERYTIME we travel he has zero tolorance for rude TSA agents. He also hates that he has to take off his shoes though he totally understands why.....so nedless to say I have to give him a warning while we are at the check in counter.....to be on his best behavior....doesn't work though..:sad2::sad2::sad2:...
So excited for the TR on with the show....
It must be a guy thing... My Dad has a hard time dealing with rude TSA agents too... And he has a longtime friend that actually works for TSA now, he is high up though, bot an airport agent...

I got another call from my brother today... I just love hearing his voice when I pick up the phone... :lovestruc
He asked me to send him Puppy Chow... Umm, huh? :confused3 Well, apparently Puppy Chow is chex mix and chocolate and stuff all mixed together... I have never heard of it... But I googled the recipe, so I will be attempting that this weekend...
Terry is done editing photos, he still needs to upload to Flikr though... Right now he is working on our vacation video... He always puts together a video to Disney music of our pictures and some video clips... He is trying to get it done cause his grandma is here from the Bay area and wants to see it...
I have been busy studying to take my GED tests... I never finished my high school diploma, I got pregnant with Alec and had a very rough pregnancy, and after he was born I worked to support him... I only need 1.75 credits, but it would cost a lot more than getting the GED, so I am going down on Monday to pay my fees and start the testing... I took a practice test and passed everything... I was really worried about science, but that is the one I aced! Go figure... Math is giving me the most problems... But I still passed...

Congrats on you GED. It seems like (at least here) that a GED and high school diploma are the equivilant. Sending lots of pixiedust: your way!!!

Ian says Hi too! I will take some pics of him on my camera of his non brace face. :rotfl: He gave you a big :thumbsup2 on you saying he can visit you guys in Oregon. Hmmmm maybe we'll have to plan a trip :scratchin (yes! I'm inviting myself too!) Thank you guys for the compliment on Ian. On that Friday he wanted to stay at the hotel to swim and then I reminded him we were going to meet up with you guys and ride Everest and he was like "Ok Lets go!" When Terry called it was right before the bus got there and I told Ian you guys couldn't make it and he said ok then lets just stay to go to the pool (it was out 1st & only night at ASMu and he loved the music by the pool & all the activities) He only wanted to go back to meet up with you guys. :cool2:
Definately let me know if you guys are ever in the Bay Area!
Hey Porturican,
We have some PTR's and TR's subscriptions in common and I was wondering if you too are doing a TR....would also love to hear about your trip....

Okay, on with the show...
Our wake up call was set for 6am... That is 3am to us west coasters... It came early... Very early...
I got up and got showered and ready for the day, laid out the kids clothes and Terry's while he showered... We are all cleaned up and ready to head out by 7:15am... Not too bad considering none of us wanted to get up... :thumbsup2
We made it to the bus stop and were the first in line, we must have just missed the bus...
Here is where we are headed...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2433/3988100483_0ea142bc23_b.jpg
Me and the kids waiting for the bus... We all had on our matching shirts this morning... And Alec was given a birthday button even though his real birthday was 2 weeks before the trip...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2495/3988101259_36bc361b4e_b.jpg
The wait for the bus wasn't too long... The kids were excited to take the first of many bus rides, strangely enough, they were not thrilled with the bus rides towards the end of the trip...

I tried to tell Jordan that he should really put a shirt on, I mean, we are at Magic Kingdom for crying out loud... but I guess with a body like his, any man would want to show it off...

Here's little man getting ready to raid the buffet...

Pooh... And not the gross kind...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3479/3988870742_91101a2c8f_b.jpg
We had gone to the buffet after Pooh and were told we would have plenty of time until any more characters came by. Of course, the kids and I return and find Piglet at the table next to ours, and we were next... Terry was having an omelet made... Great! :headache: I don't know how to use our camera... I can't NOT have a picture of Piglet... :confused3 So, with trembling hands I grabbed Bertha... Sweat beads started forming on my face... Is it hot in there or was it just me??? I turn her on. (Get your head out of the gutter Winkers...) I then remember watching Terry turn on the flash so I did that... Take off the lens cap... She's ready to rock... Piglet is saying his good-byes to the table next to us... No sign of Terry, I am on my own... then, it happened... Bertha spoke to me... With the voice of a female Barry White... And the tune of Let's Get It On softly playing in the background... "Turn my lens, baby..." "Oh yeah, just like that, just a little farther..." Push my button, suga... All the way down, honey..." CLICK! Holy crap I took a picture!!! I quietly thanked Bertha and told her I got it from here... I snapped like 6 or 7 shots... We say our good-byes to Piglet and look up to see Terry walking towards us with a worried look on his face... I know he is thinking, "Why on earth is she touching Bertha???" He sat down and I handed him the camera... He looked at the photos I had taken and gave me the nod... Had I done it? Did I manage to get a picture worth not deleting??? No freakin' way!!! Here it is folks...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2478/3988113149_6b64354d0c_b.jpg
Terry stayed close to the table after that... :rotfl:
Tigger... I love Tigger, and he loves me... Just ask Terry, it never fails, everytime we go to Disneyland or Disney World, Tigger tries to steal me away from Terry, or holds the hug just a little too long...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2487/3988870004_07668cafc3_b.jpg
Eeyore was the last one to come around... He is so darn cute...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2521/3988112535_a6e352ea9a_b.jpg
We all thought the food was great and would do this meal again... We tried dinner last year and really did not enjoy it... Not sure if we were there on an off night or what, but we will do breakfast again for sure...
Jordo even enjoyed breakfast and had 2 plates to prove it... He must work out a lot, cause with the amount he eats, it has to be hard to keep that bod in the shape it is in...

Toni, I didn't post most of my thoughts before:
1. Sorry about the Snarky TSA agents. I think they just have to pass the test. They are not representing the airlines, so they don't care. They don't have to. (Does any other "Old Person" here remember the Lily Tomlin skit - "we're the phone company - we don't care, we don't have to!":rotfl:)
2. You look cute in a bathing suit and you should just enjoy the moment with your kids, like everyone said! :thumbsup2
3. I'm glad your DB is doing well - I love Puppy Chow - my mom makes it. How did it turn out?
4. I love the pics of the castle - now I can see why Terry had to have all that camera equipment! Did he carry it around every day?

We finished breakfast about 8:50am, we headed through the castle to hit Fantasyland for rope drop...
Rope drop was a breeze, not too many people at all... First ride of the day was Dumbo... Believe it or not, this was a first for me..
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2430/3988115965_d8a7e52ef5_b.jpg
Terry and Alec rode together, and Tailor and I...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2624/3988116753_db0eb1c190_b.jpg
After Dumbo was Peter Pan, also another first for me...
Then off to It's a Small World... I often used the threat of duct taping the kids, or Terry to a Small World boat and making them ride for eternity as a way to get them to behave...
We could fill at least 2 full posts with just It's a Small World pics, but we are giving you the cliff notes version...

This is how crowded the park was this morning...

We got to Jungle Cruise and it was only a 4 minute wait...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3506/3988875210_495bffbd50_b.jpg
Our captain was hilarious and really was into his job... Out of all the rides on Jungle Cruise we have taken, this was the best...
Terry video taped the cruise, so that left me to brush up on my Bertha skills...

Oh look, my brothers-in-law decided to join us...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2486/3988124113_9cbc3ac1c7_b.jpg
From there we hit Aladdin's Magic Carpets... Not sure why we don't have any pics of that... Apparently Daddy was sleeping on the job... :headache:
Up until this point we were using Ridemax... I will say, they were right on the money with how long we would be waiting... We decided at this point to ditch the plan or rearrange it just a bit cause Tailor was saying she would ride Splash Mountain which she hated last year... And we didn't want to miss the chance to get her on it...
If we were going to go to Disney World at a busier time of year, we would not hesitate to buy Ridemax again... I don't think it was really "needed" for the middle of September though... As soon as F&W started, it got busier though...
Next up: The walk of shame... :sad2:

We were headed to Splash Mountain since Tailor said she would ride it... Last year she rode it once and hated it, and I got to sit out from that point on...
We saw Captain Hook and Smee along the way so we stopped to say hi...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2571/3988884100_92b7521e26_b.jpg
We get there and start walking through the queue and she all of the sudden realizes that she doesn't want to do this... I try and talk her into it and reason with her to just give it another chance... She starts crying and I end up carrying her for most of the way... We get up to where we get into the boat, and she full on freaks out and grabs ahold of a post and won't let go... The CM says he has to send the boat, which had Terry and Alec in it, and they are so wrapped up in their own conversation they don't notice that Tailor and I are not on the boat... Tailor and I do the walk of shame up the stairs and over the boat tunnel thing and down the other stairs and out of the ride... Tailor starts freaking out again thinking she was going to be in trouble for not riding... I had to calm her down and tell her although I wish you would have tried it, we were not going to let it ruin our trip... I didn't gt to ride Splash at all this trip... :sad1:
I took her to the little play thing right outside Splash and waited for Terry and Alec...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2434/3988888572_e0e9b70ede_b.jpg
From there we rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad... Tailor loved this ride last year and rode it at least 6 times... This year she decided she hated it and I never got to ride it again either... Do you see a pettern forming here at all???
It was now time for a family favorite.... Pirates of the Caribbean...

Is the celebate parade new?
I guess so... I had never seen it before... It went like every hour almost... Not a big parade, just went around the castle bud and then down main street... It was cute, reminded me of a smaller version of the parade at Hollywood Studios...

I really want to do one but I've been lazy to start one and then yesterday we had a lot of rain & high winds so now my internet is outta whack at home! :headache: Hopefully I cant start one this weekend, but it depends on my computer. I'm going to check out your PTR too!
Sorry Toni & Terry for hijacking your TR for a minute there :rolleyes1

We had gone to the buffet after Pooh and were told we would have plenty of time until any more characters came by. Of course, the kids and I return and find Piglet at the table next to ours, and we were next... Terry was having an omelet made... Great! I don't know how to use our camera... I can't NOT have a picture of Piglet... So, with trembling hands I grabbed Bertha...
OMG Toni I seriuosly started crying from laughter when you were talking like Barry White about the Camera. :rotfl2: Whooooo good one! :thumbsup2
That chex mix puppy chow, do you use Peanut Butter & powdered sugar too? If so I made the same thing but it was called Muddy Buddy Mix. I'm happy for you that you got to talk to your brother again too!
I got your text back on Ian's pic, I'm glad you got it at least that is working on my phone again but not the internet again! :sad2:

It's not too bad, plus it seems to help keep some of the crowds on main street and off the rides :thumbsup2

HOLY COW! That is a very nice comment... Thank you so much

You should try what we did with our daughter at 4... It was her first time at the parks since she was an infant, so we made her a deal.... If she was tall enough to ride, she had to try it once.... if she didn't like it, she wouldn't have to go on it again :thumbsup2 This worked for us on every ride including SM, BTMRR, Test Track, and even Tower of Terror :lmao: Naturally, She will not be going on ToT anytime soon, but she at least tried it :lmao:
Also, wanted to say thank you a million times over to both you and Terry!!! The CD came in the mail yesterday!!! You guys rock!!!
You are very welcome.... I really wish we could have met up at Pop, even f it was just opening our doors and yelling at each other... Oh well, always next time right :goodvibes

We caught the bus back to Pop... Tailor and I headed to the pool for about an hour while Toni helped Alec with a little bit of homework in the room... At about 10:00, me and Tailor went back to the room to find Toni talking to SilverL and her hubby in our room... It was very nice to meet them... We sat and talked in the room until about 1am! We had a 6am wake up call :scared1:... They left, and we fell asleep before they even hit the elevator :rotfl2:... Of course, none of us even thought to take pictures :sad2:...

Day 3 Part 1
Our alarm went off at 6am, so we rolled out of bed... Can you believe it! We actually got out of bed at 6am! We were headed over to Epcot today for the Akershus Princess Breakfast... There was no way we could miss this cause this was Tailor's favorite... We had an 8:05am ADR, so we left he resort around 7:15 or so.... We were dropped off at the front gates around 7:45am... We had a few minutes to get a few pictures on our way towards Norway...

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3530/4016125262_3029dc28f0_b.jpg
So when we arrived at Akershus, we had only about a 5 minute wait before we were called into our table... Of course, we had to stop and meet Belle first though...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2447/4015363641_c4929b66b4_b.jpg
We went to the table, which was perfectly located near where the princesses come in... We were the 3rd table they hit, so I knew they were going to be early... We headed over and got our first round of fruit and stuff from the buffet... We were able to sit down and eat a few things before the row of princesses was at our table...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2562/4016127182_72beb4aa42_b.jpg
We hit Princess Jackpot! Last year, there was only 4 princesses total, this year was 5... The big 5 that is... Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, and Ariel! Tailor was so happy to see Ariel, that is her favorite! You can see the Alec is so excited to meet them too... lol

After breakfast, we headed over for one of Alec and I's favorites..... Test Track!! Tailor loved this ride last year, so we figured she would love it this year... WRONG! For some reason, she didn't like it... Something about it being too fast... She at least rode it once this year which was good... On the way over I ran across these shots which I didn't want to miss...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2657/3988002201_95eafd5654_b.jpg
Yes, I videotaped the entire ride... I wanted video of it, which turned out pretty well if you ask me... I look a little funny holding the camera like that, but I look funny all the time... I found the vehicle I want on the way out of Test Track...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2751/4021160816_4c56d91e28_b.jpg
After Test Track, Alec wanted to hit Mission Space, which I do not do... Last year I rode it and was ill the rest of the day... I didn't even want to try the less intense version, so I went with him over to MS while Toni took Tailor for a little shopping in MouseGears... Alec rode MS, and we met Toni at the store... While in MouseGears, I found a few "Mickey's" that i needed to get a picture of...

Day 3 Part 2
After our photos with Max and Baloo, we made our way to Soarin'... We all love that ride so much... I totally love the way the smells come out and you can smell the evergreen trees and the orange trees! On our way over to Soarin', Alec was used as our pack mule... It was a great change of pace for me... He had my backpack on with all of my gear in it, and all the mini backpacks, and pushed Tailor in her stroller...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3507/4015371911_34bac9a523_b.jpg
We headed over to Nemo for our next ride... It was awesome as always!

After Crush, we headed over towards Soarin' again, but made a quick pit stop in Sunshine Seasons for a bite to eat... We got 2 strawberry shortcakes to share... They were delicious... After that, we rode Soarin' again... Awesome ride! We left Soarin' and headed up stairs and stopped in to Circle of Life... We watched that show and headed over to Honey I Shrunk the Audience... We missed the show by about 1 minute, so rather than waiting, we just headed over to Spaceship Earth...

Day 3 Part 3
Okay... So we headed back to the resort around 2:00 to get some rest... Man that time change is not fun on our bodies... We all decided to lay down and take a nap... We slept from about 2:30 until 5pm... We were dressed and out the door in about 15 minutes... We had a 7:00pm ADR at 1900 Park Fare, but we were hoping to get checked in a little early and get back to the resort for some free time... We went down to the buses and got in line for Epcot (figured we would just Monorail it over to our ADR)... Every line was huge! We could hear people getting upset, but couldn't make out what was the problem... I talked to a gentleman ahead of me and found out that the buses were shut down due to a suspicious package that was found onboard one of them... Turns out Disney wanted to have every bus searched before any more people could get on... This is great in the aspect of safety, but not good when you are relying on Disney Transportation to get us places... After a brief talk, we decided to just get a taxi to Epcot instead of waiting for the estimated 1-1 1/2 hours for a bus... I asked the gentleman that informed me of the problem if they wanted to share a taxi... He loved the idea and we both headed to the front doors of Pop... I talked to the guy working the front doors about a taxi, and he said it might be a while since 19 resorts had no buses, 19 resorts was taxis too... Although very frustrating, this made sense... Our saving grace was the fact that we had an ADR set up and we were in jeopardy of missing it... They got a Pop employee to drive us to Epcot in a hotel van for free! That is what I call customer service... They were able to take the other family too... Thanks Pop Century! We arrived at Epcot around 6:00...

I never would have thought of doing something like that. I really liked the monorail one too!
I have a dumb question. We have never been with anyone using a stroller before at WDW. Where do you put the stroller when you go to the Seas Pavilion? I can't remember seeing a sea of strollers around there.
I can't wait to see what your family does next!

Thanks for the compliment on the picture... I got the idea from the photography boards here... I have a fe more like that which will be posted soon :) If you are talking about The Seas with nemo and Friends, the stroller parking is to the left of the entrance... When you walk up and see the island with the Nemo statues (Nemo, Marlin, etc...) the parking is behind there... If you have a stroller and look for it, you can't miss it... I think Disney does great at finding a close area for a parking lot, but not an area that is visually noticable to everyone...
Aren't the step sisters a hoot?!?
They absolutely were... There was a dance in the middle and they are funny to watch... Toni said that if she worked at Disney, that is what she wanted to do... It would be a blast just making a fool out of yourself and being annoying to everyone :rotfl2:

Yeah... I think Alec was scared they were going to kiss him... He had an unpleasant meeting with Belle last year... Day 4 - Part 1
Our alarm came very early again this morning, 6:30am to be exact... But we were really looking forward to today so we were up without hesitation... We had an 8:00am ADR at Tusker House in AK! We absolutely loved this breakfast last year... We were at the bus stop around 7:10am...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2773/4024390995_347e1e8252_b.jpg
It was about a 40 min wait for the bus this morning... I am not sure what the issue was, but we arrived at AK without any time to spare... We love seeing this when we approach the entrance!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2553/4024391661_1ac0f963d8_b.jpg
We made it to Tusker House around 8:10, but they did not have any issues and we were seated right away...

I happen to take a picture of me and Toni's plates today as the food looked so good I couldn't help but take the picture...

Our waiter was the best... he was such a comedian and was into photography... He saw my camera sitting on the table and talked to me about it for at least 5 minutes... He then offered to use it and take our family pics with the characters... It is hard to find someone who knows what they are doing, but he did great!

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3482/4025144346_631428bf97_b.jpg
At one point, I looked over and snapped another pic of Alec... I think he was returning with more food...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2624/4024394631_5f5359b0aa_b.jpg
After breakfast, our waiter took my card to pay for the meal and said he would be right back... He came back to the table, and said, "I ran your card, and it says that you are checked out at the resort and our food credits were no longer there since we no longer had a room... Toni and I both looked at him very puzzled... He then said he called our resort and they said that they had our stuff packed up for us and down with luggage services waiting for us to pick them up. I was like, "What the heck?!?!?! We still have 10 more days. I was about ready to come unglued when he looked at Toni and said, "That was for you. I got him didn't I!" He looked at me and gave me a huge smile and explained that he was joking around... I had no choice but admit that he had me so far involved in that joke that I was about to cry... It is people like this that make the vacation memorable... I wish I would have gotten a better picture of him, but here is what he looked like... His name was Neil... We ended up tipping him about 50% of the bill cause he absolutely made our morning... Between the camera talk, the pics he took of us, and that wonderful joke he played, he was going to be unforgettable...

After breakfast we headed out towards Kilimanjaro Safari... We missed this ride last year, and I was looking forward to taking some pictures on it... I didn't really have a good lens for something like this, but I used one without any kind of vibration reduction, meaning that blurriness was going to be an issue if I couldn't get steady hands... Especially moving, but it is the only lens that I had that would work... here are some pics from the excursion...

By this time, my camera batteries went dead... I went for my spares, and I went, "Oops... I forgot them on the charger this morning." I cannot believe I didn't have batteries... I bout 4 so that i would have 3 spare on this trip.... After putting my camera away, i went on Kali River Rapids with Alec while Tailor and Toni walked around a bit... Tailor can not stand to get her face wet, and she did not like this ride at all... After Kali, we met Toni and Tailor in the Expedition Everest gift shop... I wanted to hit EE so bad, but noone else wanted to go... Alec said he wasn't in the mood... How can you not be in the mood for EE?!?!? Toni found a cool looking t-shirt for me that I absolutely loved, and told me to go ride EE by myself if I wanted... I jumped on the opportunity and went through the single rider line... I was on the ride within 5 minutes... I sat next to an older woman that had never riden it before... The ride was awesome, and kinda comical seeing her reaction to the ride... I thoght she was going to jump out of her own skin when it started going backwards... lol... After the ride, we walked over to Dinoland and me and Alec rode Dinosaur... That is a very fun ride, but not for the person who does not like jerky motion rides... After Dinosaur, I took the kids to It's Tough to be a Bug... Toni does not like 3D movies, and cannot stand bugs, so this was not a good combo for her... I love that show... The kids really enjoyed it also... We met up with Toni in a gift shop and then shortly after that, headed back to Pop... On the bus, I dug in my backpack, and realized at this point that I was an idiot... I packed my camera batteries in a different pocket... I had the batteries the whole time and missed half a day of pictures cause I didn't check that pocket... doh!!! We arrived at Pop to find that mousekeeping had arranged Tailor's stuffed animals so that they were watching TV... It was so cute!

Once at the resort, Toni said she needed to do some laundry, but I wanted to get going for more fun... I wanted to hit a water park for a few hours... I decided to take Alec and Tailor to Typhoon Lagoon...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3521/4024421493_012442de27_b.jpg
Me and Tailor couldn't help ourselves...

We arrived to find that wonderful sign!

First thing, we hit the lazy river... We all loved that river, and Tailor does not like any of the rides cause it gets water in her face...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2485/4025180584_957a0ab285_b.jpg
Naturally, I had to dump Alec off his tube a few times :-) lol
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2766/4025181734_5d443278e7_b.jpg
Within the first 10 minutes, I realized that I lost my neoprene camera case and hotel key cards somewhere between the locker room and the lazy river... I tried to track them down, but no luck... I went to Guest Services and reported them missing, and called Pop to put a stop to the cards since the had charging abilities... Back to the lazy river we went for some fun.. After floating around for about 1 hour, we got out around the Ketchakiddie Kreek... Last year, Tailor loved this area of the park... They have a kid size tube ride that is perfect size for her... She rode it again this year about 15 times in a row... Click on it below to view it...
http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j83/oregonbob/th_P9180034.jpg (http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j83/oregonbob/?action=view¤t=P9180034.flv)
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2482/4024428899_df5b1be1db_b.jpg
After this, I told Tailor that I wanted her to go on a family raft ride with me and Alec... At first she was a little hesitant, but then she said okay... We started up the stairs, and about halfway to the top, she had second thoughts... She stopped in her tracks and refused to move any further... I told her that I was not going to force her, but she had a choice to make... Either go on the ride once and then go back to having fun in her area, or leave the park... She had to understand that there was more than just her here and we all wanted to have fun too... She decided just to leave cause she was not going on that ride... We left the park and headed back to Pop around 3:30 or so...
After getting back to the resort, we decided to rest for a bit... Around 5pm, we decided to head to DTD and try to get into Planet Hollywood.. We arrived at PH around 6:00pm... We walked right up the stairs, and were seated within 5 minutes... This was crazy... There was no lines... It was amazing food, and the milkshake that Tailor ordered was the best one I have ever tried... Bythis time, Toni was in a lot of pain... She had gotten blisters on both feet from the past couple of days... After dinner we headed back to Pop for the night... After darkness fell, Toni and I went on a little walk to Generation Gap, the bridge that connects Classic Years to Legendary Years (the unfinished buildings)... It was interesting seeing the nice bridge that ends with bushes so that you can't get all the way across... I took a few pictures while we were out there... I think the bridge would be a great picture if there wasn't 2 burned out light bulbs... lol

Terry, I am drooling over these pictures. They are fantastic. I especially love the ones with the kids in the mirror, I might have to steal that idea.
I showed Bill your Pop pictures and he says that we need to get a camera like yours :lmao:. Those are gorgeous! Makes me miss Pop so much. We have 17 days until we are there!

Great update. You have totally sold me on Tusker House! If only Minnie were there. The waiter was awesome! Wonderful safari pics-elephants and giraffe's are my favorite.
The pics at night were really awesome. I really liked the bridge one!
Took my new camera out yesterday to the pumpkin farm. If you are interested they are on my PTR-link in my siggie.

this reminds me of sesame street and "one of these things is not like the other..."

:lmao::lmao::lmao: that is hilarious...because it wasn't me!
No one would have blamed you for punching him.

Day 5 - Part 1
This morning, we had an ADR at Chef Mickeys for 8:20am... So that means our alarm was set for 6:30am again! Last year, we missed out on this breakfast and decided to sleep in, so this year, we were really excited to try it... We made it out to the bus line to bus it to Mk around 7:20... We were dropped off at MK around 7:45 and we ended up walking to the Contemporary... It seemed about the same distance walking to the Contemporary as it was walking to the monorail... Here is a couple of shots I got on the way...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2747/4030563897_c49e8d3ed5_b.jpg
We made it inside and to the entrance of Chef Mickeys around 8:15, so it was perfect timing... We checked in and waited for about 10 minutes... We got called over for the family picture and were seated shortly after...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2786/4031319864_4fe7e1dc99_b.jpg
We got seated near the buffet and quickly left to get our first plates... Here is what ended up on my plates...

The first character to our table was Goofy... I like that guy....

The next one was Donald...

Pluto is the best dog you can ask for... He was next to our table... Alec spent about a minute scratching his head and had Pluto's leg movin... It was cute...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2779/4031332776_7eacc7e3c9_b.jpg
I saw Alec standing next to the table, and had to snap a pic...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2621/4031329310_3af84dd10c_b.jpg
Then it was the one and only....
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2741/4031322146_211fbcf8d0_b.jpg
There was a dance party shortly after the characters left... Everyone stood up and was swinging their napkins over their heads... Tailor really got into this...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2705/4030573123_fb835b022f_b.jpg
Naturally, after a nice big, healthy breakfast, I had to get desert right?
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3508/4030575363_2020d99e4c_b.jpg
Those brownies were AWESOME!
We left and headed towards the monorail... On the way, I snapped these pics just because I thought they were kinda neat...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2493/4031336900_3cabffcf33_b.jpg
On the way tot he monorail, we stopped in at the giftshop in hopes to find Toni some Crocs to wear... her feet were killing her... Luckily, we did find some Croc sandals that were in her size... While we were there, Toni also found a Mickey Mouse watch she loved, so I bought her that as well... Here are some more gift shop pictures I ended up taking...

Now, it was back to MK to catch the bus back to Pop... We caught the moorail over to the T&TC and decided instead of riding the monorail through the other 2 resorts and then to MK, we would take the Ferry Boat since we were in no hurry and it was something new... It was very relaxing and a great chance to shoot a few pictures...

We headed back to the resort to get ready for the rest of the day... Where were we going today?
My favorite water park of all time...... Blizzard Beach!!
When we arrived, I figured I would snap a few pics of our room window... It was decorated to show our Disney spirit... We were hoping to attract attention of other Dis members that might be around... Figured we would meet a few others that we hadn't even talked to on our PTR... No such luck, but seeing these decoration in the window was really nice every time we returned....

Now it was time for some fun! Off to BB...

This is my favorite ride of all time, the Summit Plummit, but I didn't get a chance to ride it today... Alec was a little intimidated by it still, and so I waited to ride it...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2543/4030593611_1b6e9d3b29_b.jpg
First thing, we headed over to the little kids area for Tailor to get her feet wet... She headed straight for the tube ride...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2430/4030598951_9c09d254f7_b.jpg
You will notice, that when Alec starts to struggle towards the end, I try to slice the ice berg farther and farther away, but Toni catches me and makes me put it back... I was hoping to see him fall into the water... lol

After this, we went up and me and Alec rode the Toboggan Racers... I love how fast I get going... I have never lost a race yet!

At this point, it was about 3:30pm... Toni wanted to head back to the resort at this point as she was getting tired and Tailor did not want any part of any of the rides now... Me and Alec headed up for the Slush and Gusher... Alec was a little nervous knowing it was about 80 feet tall, and he has never been on anything this big before, but I coaxed him into trying it...

We closed the park out and left at 5:00pm... We were able to catch a bus right as it was ready to leave, so no wait for us! We were back at the resort by 5:25...
Right as we walked in, I knew things were not good... Tailor was sick and had thrown up around 5:15... Toni had called for housekeeping to help clean up the mess, and so me and Alec changed and tried to help... I cleaned up what I could, and piled it all in the corner... At around 6:00 I called housekeeping again to ask the status, and they told me it takes about an hour to get someone up to the room... I figured by this point, it was already 45 minutes in, so it can't be much longer... WRONG! Another 20 minutes went by and nothing, so I called again... I wasn't very pleasant this time, and made it known, so they said that they would have someone up soon... Within about 5 minutes, a knock on our door, it was housekeeping... Only thing was, they brought us clean sheets and towels, and that was it... I told the lady we needed to get the room disinfected cause my DD had thrown up in the bathrrom and it was on the floor and carpet... The lady said she would have to get someone else up there to help do that, she was only the delivery gal... At this point, i was fuming with frustration... Toni had made it clear at 5:15 that we needed to get cleaner and all new stuff up to the room... I called back for a 4th time, and they were like, "Didn't someone come to the room yet to bring new stuff?" I told them that they just left, but I needed someone to actually clean the room, not just clean stuff... She put a new request in and said to wait for a bit... It was another 45 minutes before we had another knock on or door... Finally it was someone who brought their cart with cleaners... The guy was very nice and very apologetic that it took so long... He stripped the bed, put on all new stuff, cleaned the carpet, cleaned the bathroom, left 3 spare sets of sheets, a couple extra blankets, mopped our bathroom floor, took out all the garbage liners so that Tailor had clean ones to use just in case, and even offered to bring her anything she needed too make her feel better... He kept offering suggestions for Tailor and kept saying he hoped she felt better... He actually turned our bad experience into a good one... He was amazing... By the time it was clean, it was a little past 7:15, 2 hours after the original call... We were all a little hungry, so I took off and got dinner from the food court and brought it back to the room...
Next up - What to do with the rest of the night ???

Your son actually smiled big at Chef Mickey's. He must've enjoyed it!:thumbsup2
The pix at POP are truly spectacular. They are certainly professional quality. You and Todd H take such great pics. I really think they could be in a Disney guidebook......Good job. It was worth the 2 hours!
I love the pix in front of Pop at the bus stops. Wierd to see almost no people in the pictures...

Wow, thanks for the compliment, guys. I am really honored that you like my pictures. I am still very much a photography noob myself.
Terry, I'm loving your pictures! One thing that I'm sure you found difficult was to somehow balance your desire to photograph everything in sight with the fact that you were on vacation with your family and didn't want (or if Toni is like Ali and wouldn't allow you) to experience your family vacation through a viewfinder (which is a good thing... experiencing the vacation WITH the family is #1 priority). At least, that was what was most challenging for me. However, looking at your pictures, you pulled that off nicely with a good balance of both. You have really captured some great moments (love the added videos, btw) and it really helps the viewer experience your trip right there with you guys. Very, very nice job so far.
I also love the fact that you mess with your son so much! I do that too, just like my dad did with me. It's all in good guy fun!

I would have to agree with you all the way... I didn't want to hold the family back from enjoying anything while I stood around and tried to frame something perfectly, but yet i also wanted to get all the pics I could... Tough to balance, so most of the time, I just told the family to keep walking and I would catch up...

Love the Pop resort pics....well done.
I also love the random shots of Alec....my hubby and my son are always playing around like that....I know when he gets older those will be the times he remembers most....hanging out and laughing it up with dad.

Hi--joining late but looks like you still have lots of days left. Great TR and photos! :thumbsup2 You are braver with your cameras than I (on the water rides) but it's paid off with some amazing pix!
Hope Tailor began feeling better before long.
Good to see Daisy at the Tusker House breakfast, but we never know for sure where else to find her. :confused3 Like you, we also enjoyed Chef Mickey's for breakfast.
Looking forward to more...

The camera I had on the water rides was an Olympus that is 100% waterproof... It was purchased for the water parks... It worked out great!

This is a little off topic for our TR, but last night we went to Disney On Ice - World of Fantasy! It was an absolutely amazing ice show :3dglasses... We have gone to a few in the past to other shows, and this was by far my favorite... This show had scenes from Mickey and Friends, Cars, Ariel, Lion King, and Pixie Hollow... If any of you are interested, you can click on the link below and it will take you to a slide show of some of my pictures... I took about 565 pictures, but the top 75 are on the slide show... I have been working all day at processing these images... My camera is not the greatest at indoor dark pictures, so you will have to bare with me on the quality of the images... I wish I had your camera Todd!

Day 6 - Part 1
Today was going to an exciting day... We were meeting Porturican for the first time! We actually slept in this morning until about 8am... We were headed for DHS today, so if we were planning on being there for rope drop we had to rush... We were out the door by 8:30, but when we got to the bus stops, the line was huge... We decided if we had any chance of getting there soon, we had to take a cab... We hopped in a cab, which only cost me $10, we arrived at DHS right at 9am... We walked through security and into the gates... What was the first thing that caught my eye you might ask?
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3491/4038147820_f8c4d853c1_b.jpg
Of course! We called Porturican on the phone, and she was at TSM already... We headed straight there so I could grab a FP while there was still some available...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2653/4037398735_d127b21895_b.jpg
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2770/4037399855_23539de016_b.jpg
TSM was already at a 45 min standby time, and our FP were not until about 10:30, so we had some time to burn... Where do you go if you have time to burn at DHS? That one is easy!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2461/4038150662_115586f156_b.jpg
RnRC of course! We went there as a big group, but Tailor still was not tall enough (not that she would ride it anyways) to ride it, so Toni sat with her while I took Alec on it, and Adrienne (Porurican), Annette (Porturican's sister), Ian (Porturican's son), and D'Shawn (Adrienne's son) went on too... It was their first time on, so I was as excited to ride it as I was to see their reactions... While going through the line I happen to look over and see Toni with Tailor waiting for our return...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2565/4038151472_c17a0946aa_b.jpg
When we got inside, I snapped a few pics while I could, before Bertha had to find her seat in the cargo net... This ride goes too fast for me to try to hold her...

(Left to right - Annette and Adrienne aka "Porturican")
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3482/4037404669_f27ac1d23a_b.jpg
When we got off the rider, we met Toni outside... Now, we have been here 3 times so far, and Toni has never been able to ride RnRC yet.. She has wanted to, but just stayed with Tailor everytime... Adrienne was nice to offer to stay with Tailor in the gift shop and let Toni go on with me... Alec stayed with his sister and me and Toni took Ian and D'Shawn on the ride... It was awesome! Thank You Adrienne! You can see the pure horror on Toni;s face...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2722/4038039057_ce3572d11a_b.jpg
After RnRC we headed over to the tower... Tower of Terror that is....

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2504/4038155864_363d88bf70_b.jpg
I took this shot when the doors opened for the first time...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3528/4038156388_1935396092_b.jpg
I held the camera out and took a blind shot to my left to try to get the reactions of Adrienne and her group... I didn't do half bad considering we were int he process of falling, and it was purely a blind shot...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2570/4038157048_bbe21319a7_b.jpg
Next up was something for all of us, but we had no idea what to do... We headed back towards the middle of the park to get some ideas... We decided to hit the Great Movie Ride.... We have never been on it, so I was excited... In the front of the ride, I noticed that there was celebrities hand and foot prints in the cement.. I had to get a picture of this one...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3513/4038159750_53b2e50d04_b.jpg

After Sully, we headed over to Voyage of the Little Mermaid... We waited last year for this show, and right before it started, Tailor freaked out cause the eveil octopus was in the show and she was scared... This year, she didn't want to see it, but we convinced her that the octopus was not real and was just acting silly, and she was okay to go in... She is glad she was, the show was awesome!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2640/4038174756_4b84bcba97_b.jpg
After we left the Mermaid show, we headed back towards the main cross streets of Hollywood and Sunset... We sat down for a minute and realized it was close to the time for the Block Party Bash parade, so we found a spot to hang out, and waited...

Day 6 - Part 4
As I said, we were PLANNING on trying to make the 2nd show of Fantasmic, but that didn't happen... I was not feeling well, so we attempted to make the first showing instead... When we went over to the gates, the first showing was full... None of us really wanted to hang around for another 2 hours until we could get into the next showing, so we decided to leave... Before we left, Toni found a place to hang for a few, and I went around the park to get a few pics at night... I couldn't leave without a few key pictures...

Well, that sums up our 6th day... On the way out, Tailor decided to get some cotton candy, and ate some on the way to the bud... Of course, she decides to lick it instead of eating it, so she ends up looking like this...

Great updates! Beuatiful shots of Pop and DHS at night too! I kept meaning to go out and take photos of POFQ at night but just never got around to it. Just more reason to go back I guess, right?
Glad to see that Tailor was feeling better the next day too, it sucks being sick on vacation! It sounds like it only lasted the evening though, which is as good as it can get I guess!
Your BB pics made me realize that I haven't been to a water park in YEARS! I might have to change that soon lol

I did a lot of reading and studying this year to learn how to get better night pictures... I used my 18-135mm for most all of my shots this year... I brought my 35mm 1.8 for the dark rides....

Sure... Send him on over... if he has any question on my camera, i will be more then willing to help out... Todd would be a great resource to tap when getting into the camera world as well...
Great pix! Especially the ones after dark!
Wow! You did almost everything at that park! Looong day!
Thanks man... It was a very long day... We did pretty much everything except a few of the shows... But it was a fun day! :thumbsup2

Sorry everyone... I haven't been around very much lately... We have been busy trying to remodel our kitchen... Toni and I tore out our old flooring and put down a new oak laminate floor today... We just finished... I am hoping to put a couple more days of our vacation up tomorrow... Last week, we remodeled Tailor's room, so we are ready for a break!

Day 7 Part 1
Woke up at 8:45, it was nice sleeping until we woke up and taking our time getting ready...
We ate breakfast at the Pop food court... yum yum...
We headed to Epcot at noon... Today was our World Showcase day! I love the World Showcase, so I was really looking forward to this day!
The kids seemed to be in good moods for the start of our day!

We got to Japan and it was starting to sprinkle a little bit... We had a lunch ADR for Teppan Edo so I grabbed a rain poncho and covered our stroller up so it wouldn't get wet...

Day 7 Part 5
On to Norway...
The kids got their masks out of the way and we decided to ride Maelstrom... Okay, this ride is one of my favorites, but you gotta admit it is kinda creepy for little kids... I was worried about what Tailor would think, especially with her sense of adventure gone on this trip... But she loved it! We had to ride it again right away! I was so relieved... We never stayed for the movie but I think next trip we might do that once...
The kids took their picture with the troll... My grandma loves these pictures, we have to get them every time we come... She is full Norwegian and has been to Norway a few times and gets a kick out of our pictures...

We made to our final country on our around the world trip...
The kids finished their kidcot masks and we went to ride the Gran Fiesta Tour... Tailor loved that one also... Then we went and saw the glass store and there was a guy making all the awesome creations...

Tailor tried to figure out how to get this on the airplane to take home...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2596/4038317996_bcdecea72c_b.jpg
We were officially done with our World Showcase tour... By this time it was 7pm and we were 2 hours out from Illuminations... We grabbed frozen lemonades and soft pretzels then set out to get our spot for the show... Terry wanted to get some pictures so he was on a mission...
At 7:30 we got to our spot right across from American Adventure... At this point Tailor decided to be a brat... She got into one of her moods and I was not about to put up with it... She was being mean and hateful... At first it wasn't so bad but as it got closer to show time, it was bad... She wouldn't sit still in her stroller, she didn't want to sit on a towel on the ground, she didn't want to stand... She kept pushing her stroller away from us... I finally had ENOUGH and told her that if she didn't knock it off, I was taking her back to the resort... She continued and added a lovely shrieking that I am sure was pleasant to those around us... Right as the show was getting ready to begin she started kicking me and Alec and continued screaming... I grabbed her and her stroller and what bags I could so Terry and Alec didn't have to deal with them and left... I was not going to let her ruin the show for everyone else... There was no excuse for her behavior and if I would have just ignored it, she would have gotten the message that it was okay... As soon as we got to the front of the park she realized that she was gonna miss the fireworks and started asking me to take her back... Nope, sorry should have thought about that one... So I hauled everything out to the bus and waited in line for awhile... One finally came and we were able to get seats... We got back to Pop and walked into our room, I went to the bathroom and started getting my pajamas on and Terry and Alec walked in! They saw the entire show and still made it back less than 5 minutes after us!
We had a nice conversation with Tailor about her behavior and made it clear that she would spend the next day in our room and not have any fun if she did not get it turned around... She apologized and gave us hugs and asked if she was a good girl until the next time we went to Epcot if she could watch the fireworks show...
Here are a few of the Illuminations pictures Terry got...

Welcome! You should go to WDW! I have been to Disneyland many times as a child, last trip was 2002 on our honeymoon... I really want to go back but we fly and the prices are usually the same from PDX to LAX ot MCO, so Florida has won the last few years...

You are a travelin', aren't ya? You are always just leaving or getting back... I see you get to go visit your kids and grandkids soon! I bet you are excited! Terry and I almost moved to Minnesota when his job at the time was bought out and moved there... My parents flipped out... They are lucky that I hate the snow... O-well, it worked out, he got a much better job now...
Tailor needed to be removed from the situation for sure... She wasn't tired at all, she was just being her... :rotfl: She can be a very selfish child when she wants to be and she wasn't getting her way... That's what happens when Daddy lets her do whatever she wants and leaves Mommy to deal with it later... :rolleyes1

Great Epcot day even with the attitude at the end. You did the right thing but showing her that her actions have consequences. I will have to remember that next week if Christian or Hannah cop an attitude.
The pictures were fantastic as usual. I showed them to Bill, he oohhh and ahhh'd then I showed the Illuminations pix. He declared "we need that camera!!" I told him it was the photographer too and that I wouldn't be able to get half as good pictures as Terry does.

I believe we had the same Jasmine at CRT, and we also had Azusa as our chef at Teppan Edo. She was really good!

:rolleyes1
I guess I have been traveling alot! I say I'll stay home now that Winter is here, but yes! I'm excited to see the babies in December, then Vegas and Phoenix in March. I'm sure there will be a business trip or two in there somewhere. I really try to be away from Ktown as much as possible! ;)

I just wanted to let everyone know we are alive, we swear! :rotfl:
We have really been busy remodeling the house a bit... I think we are about done for the next month...
I am hoping to get an update done tomorrow while Daddy is working... He may be quiet this month, he is working 4 to 5 12 hour shifts every week plus any overtime he is offered...
I am going through some serious Disney blues right now... If I could sell a kidney and go in February with Jordan and Winkers, I seriously would...
I am all done Christmas shopping... :santa: Unless I hit the jackpot and can afford to buy Alec a laptop... And since I don't play the lottery I don't see that happening... :confused3

I know the feeling-I miss Disney already! Going to Disney on Ice Sat night so that will help some! Realized last night that I won't be able to go back until 2011!! But in return I am finally going to get a home of my own! No more renting!

I'm trying to enjoy this report. I have to ask. Why do you push your daughter to go on rides she doesn't enjoy? I see your wife not going on certain things. Shouldn't you set the example by going on things you don't like yourselves too? I almost cried when I read the Splash Mtn. segment, That's not fun at all. I understand that fear of being pushed onto something you are totally afraid of. Not cool. Sorry, but I just don't understand.

I feel as though I need to post a reply on Terry n Toni's behalf. 1st let me say they are wonderful parents when I met with them at HS Toni never pushed Tailor to do anything she didnt like nor Alec when it came time for TOT. She sat out patiently with them and then with Tailor for Rockn Roller Coaster and at that point she had never even ever rode that herself. I think if you truly read through the post about Splash Mountain she never pushed her to go on a ride she didnt like, she simply asked her to give it a try and maybe you are misinterpreting her just being humerous when she talks about taking the "Walk of shame" Just after that she states Tailor had loved going on Big Thunder Mountain previously but this time around wasnt having it. So she sat out with Tailor again. Now personally myself and I'm sure a lot of other parents out there have bribed their kids, coaxed them into getting on a ride they are "freaked out" by only because you know once they try it they will love it and if they didnt they dont have to go again. I saw this personally by a mom when we were going on TOT and sure enough her son loved the ride.
They never forced her onto a ride she didnt want to ride, I think maybe you read this wrong...
I took her to the little play thing right outside Splash and waited for Terry and Alec...
Then this is my second part to point out no forcing to go on a ride existed...
From there we rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad... Tailor loved this ride last year and rode it at least 6 times... This year she decided she hated it and I never got to ride it again either... Do you see a pettern forming here at all???
Keep up the GREAT Trip Report Toni & Terry!

I understand that fear of being pushed onto something you are totally afraid of. Not cool. Sorry, but I just don't understand.
I have been thinking on how I was going to respond to this, so hopefully I get my thoughts out the way I intend to...
I am not sure where you got the idea that we "pushed" her to go on a ride... We encourage our children to try things... You do not know my child... If she would have gotten on the ride, I am positive she would have enjoyed it. The only part of it she didn't care for last year was the getting wet, we had a poncho for her to wear this time... I am not sure if you actually read the entire post or not, but at the end of part 3 and the beginning of part 4 I stated that it was Tailor's idea to go ride Splash Mtn... Once we were already most of the way through the queue was when she started getting nervous...
I am not sure if you have read through all of our updates or just decided to judge us based on that one segment... Let me lay it out for you...
These are the rides that she did not want to ride, and therefore I sat out with her and did other things...
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain (loved it last year, hated it this year)
Test track(also loved it last year, hated it this year)
Mission Space (not that I mind this one!!)
Kali River Rapids
Expedition Everest
Tower of Terror
Rockin' Roller Coaster(I actually think she was still a half inch too short for this but we didn't even measure her since she didn't want to ride it)
You make a comment that you see ME not going on certain things and I should set an example and ride things that I do not like too...
Exactly which ride did they all go on that I didn't?? The only thing they did without me is It's Tough To Be A Bug... 3D has always made me quesy... And I am terrified of spiders and snakes... It is something that I actually worked very hard to over come this trip and I tried PhilharMagic and Honey I Shrunk the Audience... I loved PhilharMagic, but HISTA I did not do well(SNAKE)...
Any other time I sat out was because I was with MY DAUGHTER!
It seems to me by your statement that you "know the fear to be pushed into something you are totally afraid of", that something in that segment opened a wound for you... While I am sorry that you have had issues in your life with that, I find it completely uncalled for that you think it is acceptable to pawn that off on my family... I have thousands of pictures from this trip that proves my daughter is not an unhappy child and that she had a great time... Just ask her, she will tell you... She will also tell you that she didn't ride Splash and we were not mad at her...
Your opening sentence states you "are trying to enjoy this report" and in my opinion you should not have to "try" to enjoy a trip report... You either enjoy it, or you don't and if you are not enjoying this report, you are welcome to find another...

Day 8 Part 1...
Our wake up call was set for 6:45am...
We all got up and showered... We caught a bus at 8 headed for DHS, once we arrived there, we headed straight for the boat dock to Beach Club...
Here are some pics that Terry took from the boat...

We arrived at the Beach Club and got checked in for our breakfast at Cape May Cafe... Breakfast was good, but not our favorite... Glad we tried it though! Terry had a great conversation with the family next to us about cameras...

After breakfast, I had a plan! Scary, I know... I wanted to take some family pictures at the resort... Terry had brought the tripod so we set! We ran into a photopass guy right outside the entrance to the resort so we graced him with our presence and allowed him to photograph us... :snooty:

We headed to the boat launch to get back to DHS... From there we took a bus back to Pop... Terry and Alec got ready and headed to Typhoon Lagoon while Tailor and I had some Mommy/Daughter time... Why she chose to hang out with me to do laundry is beyond me, but secretly I was glad because tonight was our MNSSHP night and I wanted her to rest for a bit... We found a movie on and cuddled up on the bed and rested... We got 3 loads of laundry done! :woohoo: Told you I was a laundry freak..
Tailor had her entire day made when we were on our way back to our room and a housekeeper offered her a balloon out of a room that checked out! Score for Vic! :cool1:
Terry and Alec made it back to the resort about 4:30... Tailor and I were ready to go, so the boys got ready!
Next Up... MNSSHP!!!

Day 8 Part 2...
We jumped on a bus to head to Magic Kingdom... It was time for MNSSHP!!! First thing we did once we got through the turn stiles was EAT!!! Cosmic Ray's it was...
Terry and I split a chicken and rib combo, Alec, I think had chicken nuggets... Tailor had salad... She loves veggies and will order a salad if you take her to McDonalds... Although she is becoming a chicken nugget and french fry fan...
Our plate of yummy food...

Tailor danced around in her gown...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2659/4094241850_2f0379ba2b_b.jpg
After our meal we went to Toontown and the boys did the Barnstormer, Tailor had wanted to try it but decided at the last minute that she didn't want to ride it after all, so her and I went into the huge gift shop and filled a Potato Head box and also the My Little Pony Box... We had them sent back to the resort so we wouldn't have to carry them around all night...
We started our trick or treating in Toontown at 7, and on our way we ran into Porturican and family... I can't say enough about her and her family, we just loved them and I feel like I made a true friend, I still talk to her and I can't wait to see her again! Terry has family that lives very close to her, so we are going to make that happen!
Our first trick or treat for the evening was with Alice...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2801/4094242162_ee3698f48e_b.jpg
We continued down the trick or treat path and got a ton of candy! We made our way through Tomorrowland and made a beeline out of there when we started smelling a very strong smoke smell... Then we knew it was time to get out of there when we saw these guys!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2666/4094242666_2f14d49037_b.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2650/4094244308_ec42d04d03_b.jpg
Those pics are not good, we had to photoshop them a lot! It was getting dark at this point and he had to snap the pics fast since the guys were on the move! But you get the point... We never did find out exactly what was on fire but we know it was coming from Stitch or very close to that... The firefighters went in with their axes...
A few more pictures that Terry snapped while we walked across the park...

We beat feet to Adventureland and the kids rode the Magic Carpets...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2758/4093482901_2d8097a1b0_b.jpg
They wanted Daddy to take one more...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2684/4094245772_5a5397c282_b.jpg
I don't know where the kids get this stuff!!! :confused3
We did some more trick or treating around Adventureland and I swear our bags were almost full! I had made the kids the larger canvas bags and Terry and I dumped the plastic one in there just to keep them from being heavy... Well, I swear toward the end of the night that the CM's must have thought we just had not gotten very much candy because they were filling the bags!!! We brought home so much candy one of our carry on suitcases just had the canvas bags in it!
We rode POTC twice... Terry only took a few pics this round, he was trying to just enjoy the evening and not be obsessive with Bertha... :rolleyes1
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2554/4093483607_a63c8a0ebb_b.jpg
Apparently Jordo got in trouble for something while we were riding cause we found him like this...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2526/4094246440_7dc34eb6be_b.jpg
You cannot take this guy anywhere, I tell you!!! After we bailed him out, by the way, it cost a lot of Disney dollars to bail him out and he has yet to pay me back... :rolleyes1
We decided to take the kids to one of the dance parties, they loved it last year and we have great video from it... By this time Tailor had taken her gown off...

After the parade, with Tailor still asleep, we headed back towards BTMRR and SM for some late night riding... I took Alec on each one twice while Toni took Tailor into a nearby gift shop... We headed back to resort about 1am...
Next up - Back to MK for another day of fun....

We have been good... Just working our the house, and Terry is working in general... The kids are doing good in school... I got all my Christmas shopping done... :cool1:
I have the Disney Blues though.... In a really bad way... :sad1:

Thank you! And I agree with Bill... Although I would recommend the D5000, it's the new model and has some better options than ours... Terry is actually going to buy it next year...

Thank you! Tailor was out, we tried to wake her, but it was not happening...
She didn't even know she missed the parade until Terry made our video and she saw the pictures... She was mad... :headache:
Is it cold down there? We are freezing up here... 15 degrees, pipes are bursting... We are not used to this weather...

Happy Birthday Toni!

How are the house remodels going?? I am so far behind on TR's that I have no idea what is going on anymore...
