Day 9... Part 1

Since we were out late at the MNSSHP the night before, we slept in this morning... The kids and I woke up about 9 and Terry followed at 10... Terry went and got breakfast from the food court, while the rest of us got ready for the day...

We made it to Magic Kingdom by about 11:15

We went to Mickey's Philharmagic... We love this show, it's so cute!!! Terry loves the smell of the food!!!

Carousel... Tailor had her horse all picked out, then as the bell rang, she jumped down and ran away from us!!! :scared1: Terry followed her and got her buckled into the new horse right as we were starting to move... I stayed on the horse that I was able to get my big butt onto! :laughing: I was able to snap this picture of Terry and Tailor while the carousel was moving...

Now, I was not feeling well this day... I am very prone to getting kidney infections... I drink cranberry juice daily to help keep them away... I thought I was going to be able to get some juice at WDW, all they had was Cran Apple, which is not as strong as straight cranberry... So, I could feel the infection starting to take over... Ugh...

Love the Goofy picture!

He's one of my favorites....every visit I pose on his lap for my picture while my kids pretend to not know me.

I'm worried about your kidneys...I hope it was ok. I imagine it's more painfull than a bladder infection. I've had 1 and that was more than enough...like peeing fire.

I was really starting to feel bad... Almost to the point of being dizzy... I had Terry and the kids drop me off at Cosmic Ray's with a Sprite and told them to go have fun for a while and just let me try and feel better...

They took off for some good Daddy/kid time... First stop was Tomorrowland Speedway...

After a few rounds on the teacups, they came to get me from Cosmic Ray's... I am not as hot and dizzy as I was, but was in pain from the infection...

We decided to head over to the Poly and see if there was anyway they would take pity on me and seat us early for our ADR...

Day 9... Part 3...

We arrived at the Poly and made our way to Ohana... We were 2 1/2 hours early for our ADR, hoping they could seat us, or we would have to cancel and just eat at Pop... I wanted some medicine!

Terry went up to the podium and asked nicely... And to my surprise we were seated right away... :woohoo:

Thanks Todd. I appreciate it. I was a little disappointed with them at first, but after post processing, I was okay with them. The teacup shots are my fav! I never would have thought about a shot like that until i saw something like that in the photo section of these forums.

Day 10... Part 1...

Today was a much needed sleep in day for us... We took our time getting ready and made it to Epcot about 11:30... We were planning for a very relaxed day today, Terry was looking forward to getting some pictures...

We got a fast pass for the Kim Possible mission and had a little time to kill, so we let the kids go play with the Firetruck and the "Where's the Fire" Game...

The kids had a great time on their mission and is something they would like to do again... We did think it was pretty time consuming though...

We headed to Mexico, Alec and Tailor really wanted to ride the Gran Fiesta Tour...

Then off to China to watch the 360 show... We really never paid attention to any of the shows in the World Showcase and this trip we made it a point to actually watch them... Well, we liked them but the bad part is, now we really want to visit those places!!! :rotfl:

We took a boat from the US pavilion to Future World and ran off for Honey, I shrunk the Audience...

I really tried to give the 3D shows a shot this year, I normally get sick watching them... This one was okay but I did feel kinda queasy and I FREAKED when the snake made it's lovely appearance! :scared1: I am deathly afraid of snakes so this was not a pleasant surprise!

We have been good... Just working our the house, and Terry is working in general... The kids are doing good in school... I got all my Christmas shopping done... :cool1:

I have the Disney Blues though.... In a really bad way... :sad1:

Thank you! And I agree with Bill... Although I would recommend the D5000, it's the new model and has some better options than ours... Terry is actually going to buy it next year...

Is it cold down there? We are freezing up here... 15 degrees, pipes are bursting... We are not used to this weather...

How are the house remodels going?? I am so far behind on TR's that I have no idea what is going on anymore...

Sorry for the late response - I was frozen solid! :rotfl: When you asked, it was -8 overnight. We had a few frozen pipes around, but most of us are prepared as it happens every few years. It's back up in the 40s again, 20s at night.

I hope you didn't have too much kidney trouble. My DH has had stones a few times - not pretty. Your LeCellier dinner looked great! We haven't tried that one yet. Glad Tailor rode and loved Soarin'! I'm looking forward to your next installment.

I love the Epcot pictures, they are just fantastic. I was showing them to Bill and I have been informed I am not allowed to show him pictures from your trip report again because it makes him want to get me that camera :lmao:. The kids looked like they were having a great time!! We loved Chip and Dale at Epcot they were so funny.

I hope Tailor got to see Illuminations this time.

I just wanted to let everyone know we are still around... Terry has been very busy at work, a lot of overtime... I am ready for the kids to go back to school!!! :rolleyes1 We have been trying to get my parents surprise anniversary party planned... I think we just need to get the cake figured out, which I am calling the decorator tomorrow... The save the date cards are going out next week... :cool1:

After our amazing dinner at Le Cellier, we were going to go scope out our spot for Illuminations, but Tailor asked very sweetly for us to make a detour so she could ride Spaceship Earth... :goodvibes

We were up and at 'em by 8:30am...

I like that the WDW fastpasses have that little tray to collect the fastpass as it comes out of the machine. I'm not always the most coordinated (yes, clumsy) and it's stressful trying to not let the fastpass fly away at DL. (i think y'all call it DLR?)

Welcome!! Thank you for the compliment on the pics! Hubby spent a lot of time learning how to use his camera, so I can't take any of the credit, that is all him! We do try to have fun, we enjoy each other... We can laugh at each other too, especially when I trip over things, mixed 2 words together when I try and talk to fast, try to cook the Christmas Turkey in the lid of the roasting pan :rolleyes1

i feel the same way you do about the camera/waterpark issue... I took one for the team once during the trip cause the kids wanted me to... I told Terry that everyone will think the mistakenly went to Sea World and I was Shamu... :rolleyes:

Okay so I am completely bummed right now, and only my DIS friends will understand...

I had to take down my 2009 Disney World calendar... :sad1:

And I forgot to pick up a 2010 when I was there in September... :sad2:

Terry picked me up one that same island scenes on it, but it just isn't the same... :guilty:

I guess it is better than the 2008 one I used from the AOCE for giving them money monthly... It was just pictures of prisons from different states... how depressing it that??? :confused3

Okay, so we were standing right behind the rope that the CM's put up for the parade... At the very last second some lady starts shoving her way up to the front with her daughter... They end up pushing us over to get a front spot, I just let it go and moved us over as much as I could... She has her daughter get her pen and autograph book out and tells her to be aggressive and make the characters stop for signatures and pictures... She also tells her to go under the rope and join the characters during the parade! :eek: Terry lets the CM know of her plans and she tells the lady to put the pen and book away and they have to stay behind the rope... Parade starts and the Mom is shoving her daughter into the rope as far as she can and screaming at her to smile and laugh and pose for all these pictures that her Mom is trying to get. Then she started yelling at her for not being as involved in the parade as she should have been and not getting the characters attention and having them all stop the parade to see her... The little girl was about 8 or so... Little girl tries to go stand with Dad who is far enough away video taping that he has no clue what is going on... Well, the Mom got very angry that the daughter wanted to be with her Dad, so she PUNCHES her daughter in the head!!!! :headache: I did a double take and swung her head so fast to Terry to make sure I actually just saw that... He was busy taking pictures so he didn't see it, but Alec had swung his head towards me just as fast cause he did see it!!! He was totally freaked... The little girl is crying and wanting her Dad, I am trying to get a CM's attention, but she couldn't hear me... I am filling Terry in on what happened, and Alec yells, "MOM!" I turn my head back to them and the lady punches her kid in the head AGAIN!!!! OH HECK NO!!!!!! I yell, "HEY!!! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM???? YOU WANNA HIT SOMEBODY, COME HIT ME!!!" By this time the parade is ending, I scream for a CM, she comes over and I give her the quick version, she gets management, and I tell them, they get security... The little girl is being comforted by her Dad, has a red mark on the side of her head/forehead area... The Mom is telling the Dad how awful HIS daughter was during the parade and she is never bringing her to Disney World again... The Disney people promise they will take care of it, they want to shadow her for a bit and see if they can catch her in the act of anything else...

Terry and I take the kids and go on about our day, but Alec didn't understand why a Mom would hit her child like that... So we got to explain that there are some parents who think it is alright to beat their kids... And that there is a fine line between discipline and beating...

Terry took Alec and Tailor to It's Tough to be a Bug, I did a bit of shopping, and guess who I saw being escorted to the security office??? (At least that is where I think they were headed) 2 security dudes and 3 CM's in the business suits were telling the lady that she was being taken to meet with sheriff's and the Dad and little girl was behind them... So apparently she wasn't done with just punching her! The Dad looked really irritated with his wife and was holding the little girl and not yelling at his wife but I was using a stern voice with her... I felt so bad for that little girl!

After the parade was over, we decided to leave and head over to the Boardwalk... We wanted to get a bite to eat at Big River Grille....

OMG - I can't believe you actually saw something like that in the park, in front of all those people!!!

If that is what that woman is doing in a crowded public place, imagine what she is doing when she has her daughter alone. That is heartbreaking!:sad1:

And that is awful that your son had to witness that. Bad enough seeing that anywhere, but in a place like WDW:sad2:

Good for you for standing up to her and for involving Disney security. I did not believe that they would have been able to do anything, thinking the mom wouldn't be so dumb as to do it again, but it sounds like they must have witnessed another incident. Hopefully this knocks some sense into her!

I think that it is wonderful that you said something to someone about the abuse that woman was inflicting on the child. I bet that your son was very proud of you too. That she behaved like that in public makes you wonder what the child is exposed to at home.

The pictures are beautiful! last trip we spent 2 days at AK and didn't get to see the parade on either day:sad1: I hope to rectify that in 2 weeks!

Day 12... Part 1

We woke up early for our breakfast ADR for Ohana... This was a favorite in 2008 so we were really looking forward to this one! We got in the bus line at 7:00, saw no sign of a bus, so we finally gave up and took a bus to Epcot, then took the monorail to the TTC and from there we walked to the Poly... Now, I am not sure if you remember but a few days prior I was in a great deal of pain with a kidney infection... Well, a constant flow of Tylenol had kept me going, but this morning, I knew my streak was over, I could hardly walk, I was in so much pain... We finally arrived, almost an hour late to breakfast, but we had called dining and they said they noted the account... I got on the phone with our doctor's office back here in Oregon, which takes forever to get through because the office was closed so I was dealing with after hours emergency nurses... Terry deals with getting us into our ressie and tells the lady that I am sick and we may need to get to a hospital, but we would let her know if we were going to leave... I get ahold of someone and answer all of their questions, he calls the on call doctor and they decide it's time for a ER visit... :guilty: Great... I go to the front desk and ask them where the nearest hospitals are and ways to get there... Then after giving those names to our clinic they inform me that none of them are "in network" and I will have to pay for 100% of the visit today, and I can file forms for reimbursement when I get home... Double great... :rolleyes:

I go back up to Terry and the kids and fill him in just as our names are called to be seated, he looks at me and I decide, if I am spending the day at the hospital, I am eating good food before I go!!! :rolleyes1 Our waitress could tell that I was not doing well, and asked if she could get me anything... I said only if you have straight cranberry juice... She says SURE! :confused: What wait??? I thought they didn't have that on property!!! She explains that the resorts have it because they have bars!!! I just had to ask the bar! :flower3: Thank you Ohana lady! :lovestruc She brings me the juice, and I start chuggin! :laughing: She laughs and says hang on... Comes back with a pitcher!!!! :hug: Let me tell you, by the time we were done eating, I was already feeling a little better... I won't tell you how many times I went tinkle during our breakfast... :rolleyes1

Day 12... Part 2...

After breakfast, Terry asks me what I would like to do... I want to walk... When I am having these issues, sometimes my back kinda locks up and it just feels better to be on my feet... Other times I just want to curl up in bed!

Hey girl! Sorry about the scare I gave ya!

We are all doing well, just dealing with school for the kids, work for Terry, working on the house... We are planning a 25th Anniversary party for my parents so that has been taking a lot of our time the past few weeks, but I think we have done all that we can until like April or so when we send out the invites... Ugh... And of course I have been pouting cause I want to go back to DW... :guilty:

Makes you wonder how the dad tolerates it - he'll probably be under investigation, too. I'm guessing in Oregon she would be in foster care by now.

I get bladder/kidney infections a lot, but my life saver is azo (it's an analgesic and also has antibacterial properties). I also take about 4 cranberry pills a day and that does wonders as well. Can't wait to read more about your trip! I can't wait to go to disney in the fall, but I think we are going to do christmas first as that's when my mom really wants to go. I LOVE the pictures at night even if he did have to stand in a shop for and hour before getting them lol That's one good thing about rain at disney if you can wait it out, most people leave before it's over and the park will be pratically empty!!!

I so want to do Christmas time!!! I turn 30 on December 1st this year and would love to celebrate it at DW!!!

Day 13... Part 1...

Alarm went off at 7am, we all got up and ready, knowing it was our last full day... :sad1:

We had signed up to take the DVC tour this morning... The DVC van picked us up at 8:15... We rode over to Saratoga Springs... Took the tour and get the whole sales pitch... Told her we would think about it, but we were not making any decisions anytime soon as we were not planning another trip until 2012...

They sent us into the ice cream parlor for ice cream, which the kids loved at 9am... Okay, who am I kidding, Terry loved it too... :rolleyes:

We decided we were not going to use the last set of RRC fastpasses so we gave those away...

We went to TSM and rode that one more time, and gave away 4 fastpasses for that one...

The weather had gotten nasty, hence, no pictures... We decided to leave the park and head pack to Pop... We had done everything we wanted to at DHS and it was time to say good bye... :sad1:

Once back at the resort, I started packing, Alec did homework... Terry and Tailor went swimming for an hour...

The rain picked up even more... We decided we should just stay at the resort, and have pizza delivered...

It was actually kinda nice just having a quiet night before we left, I got a lot of the packing done, Alec was able to finish his homework, and we got to just relax... Tailor loved playing with all the toys she had bought throughout the trip!

Well, a constant flow of Tylenol had kept me going, but this morning, I knew my streak was over, I could hardly walk, I was in so much pain...

I can't believe you were able to walk from the TTC to the Poly! :scared1: You poor thing! I'm glad they were able to find you some cranberry juice and that it helped.

He arrives at 8:30 and as he is walking through the gates, it starts to downpour!!!

I love the pictures he got that show how hard it was raining!

I was so thankful for the cranberry juice! You have no idea... I really just wanted to get home before having to go to the doctor...

I couldn't believe how hard to rained while he was there... He did like how it emptied the park out in no time, then he got to tour an empty park when the rain let up...

I can't say it enough, the pictures are fantastic. They make you feel like you are right there. I am so sorry you weren't feeling well during your trip, I had a couple of bad days on ours too. So sorry to see your trip end.

I was just over at your TR getting caught up... I have a few updates left and I am done... Sounds like you guys had a good trip with a few speed bumps along the way... I have been so behind, but am starting to get caught up one TR at a time... It's amazing home far behind you can get and it takes forever to catch up!!! Terry is behind on our own TR!! He didn't even know I had been updating! :laughing:

Day 14... Part 1

Well, we are finally at the day I had been dreading... Departure Day... :sad1:

We woke up at 8, had breakfast at Pop... Finished packing and checked our checked bags in... Got a late check out for 1pm...

Headed to DTD... Terry and Alec went to Disney Quest, while Tailor and I went shopping!! That is a dangerous thing, Tailor and I in a store with no Daddy keeping our spending in check!!! :rolleyes1 We actually came in way under budget so even after us girls spent our hearts out, we still had a chunk of money to take home!! :woohoo:

We had 6 CS credits left to use, so we headed to Earl of Sandwich to get sandwiches for lunch and the plane ride home! Yummy :cloud9:

Made our way back to Pop and got the rest of our carry on bags out of the room and changed into our comfy airplane clothes...

We had a little bit of time to kill so Terry took pictures of the stuff in the lobby...

As soon as we got out to the front where Magical Express (I use that term loosely) picks up, I started getting all pouty and teary eyed... Kept asking Terry if we had to go home... If we could stay... Gave him that cute face he normally can't resist... :cutie: Notice I said normally... :rolleyes:

Terry thought this was our bus that pulled up, but nope, this one was full of happy people that were just arriving...

So we start heading for the airport... I start crying... :sad2: Seriously, I did... Like a big freakin' baby... At least it wasn't an ugly cry... You know what I am talking about... I was just not ready to go home... I missed my dogs like crazy, but I was not ready to let go of the family time... Between the kids school and Terry's crazy work schedule, we don't get uninterrupted family time... Nobody stopping by the house, or video games, the kids friends being here... I love having just the 4 of us... And I didn't know when I would have that again... When I am at WDW nothing else seems to matter... Great, now I am crying just thinking about it... :sad:

Anywho... the movie starts, and I try to gain my composure, and I do for the most part but still have a tear now and then... We watched the movie, and of course this part got me...

We arrived at the airport and made our way through security... Got to the gate one hour before boarding, so we made ourselves comfortable... There was a flight getting ready to leave when we arrived at the gate... The gate attendants kept paging a party of 4... The flight was like 5 minutes from departure time, which as you know, means you are suppose to be on your way to taxing at that point... They page the people one last time and finally shut the doors and started prepping the plane to taxi and the people finally show up with 1 minute before their schedule take off... They were informed that the plane had been closed up and the gate doors closed so they had missed their flight... Of course the people got ticked off and started freaking out... The plane was headed to Spain! They said that nowhere on their tickets does it say to arrive early... Umm, that was proved wrong when they tried to prove their point and show the gate attendants... Gate attendants called TSA to see if they would authorize a gate re open and plane re open cause they are not allowed to do it once the plane has been cleared... TSA said no, they were too late... SO the people got even more mad!!! TSA agents ended up coming down and helping the gate agents, and the truth comes out!! The group was getting drunk in the bar, and didn't realize what time it was... Too bad, so sad is basically what they were told... They rebooked their flights and went back to the bar!!! :eek: Whatever... Not my flight, not my problem!!!

Our flight left on time, was an uneventful trip to SLC airport for our layover... They showed Ghosts of Girlfriends Past... FLight landed on time... We had a 1 hour layover, grabbed a bite to eat... Had a very quick flight to PDX... Only mishap was the kid in front of us puking! It smelled so horrid!!! I thought I was going to puke! :sick: I have never wanted off a plane so bad in my life!!

Once on the ground we got all of our luggage and called for our shuttle, got to our van and loaded it up! We had a lot of crap!!! :rolleyes1

Finally made it home around 11:15pm... And our dogs freaked!!!! They didn't pee everywhere though so that was a bonus!!!

I have two things to thank you for:

1 - Thanks for a very enjoyable trip report! Your family seems lovely - and I loved all of the photographs that "Bertha" took. I also enjoyed reading your recollections of your trip! It made me very excited for my upcoming trip! I'm glad I'm not the only one that tears up when the trip is over! :sad1:

2 - I need to thank you again for the photos your included. My DH's favorite hobby is photography. He is very excited to bring his camera on our trip, but he hasn't been to Disney (aside from a day trip to the Magic Kingdom) in over 20 years. He's not really sure what to expect and what there is to photograph. I made him flip through your TR (excused him from reading the words) and look at the pics. He is so excited now. He even said, "Are there parades every day?!" I just had to giggle a little and think, "You have no idea what you're in for!"

Thank you so much for joining us... I am very happy to get someone so excited to go... Disney World has got to be one of the best places to take a camera... Everything around you is so perfect and colorful... And there is so much to see... I know your DH will really enjoy himself... The only thing I can really say is to take your time and look at everything... There are so many hidden details that people miss that are amazing... Have fun on your trip...
