Wanted to book the 4 day after Christmas (12/29 in fact) and saw that it isn't available. Dont' want to be gone during Christmas itself so that limits also. I'm a teacher so I only have those two weeks off. Any suggestions on alternative cruise lines with DD17 and DS11? They both love Disney but want to cruise since Christmas is right away in our vacatoin time and have lots of time after. I wasn't even offered a "wait list" though not exactly sure how that works -- went through Dreams so I assume they would tell me if I would have a chance to get in later. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I've only cruised once--a Carnival 7 day. I've heard they have lots of families, whereas some of the other cruise lines are mostly adult. I got a lot of info from cruisecritic.com. They have a message board for each line.

I would try Royal Caribe...(I'm going to butcher the spelling) line. Some of their new big ships have ice skating, rock climbing, that your kids might enjoy.

There are a few other ships that also sail out of Port Canaveral if you were counting on sailing out of that area. But, if you don't mind Miami then I would have to agree with Karel ---- the 'Explorer Class' ships on Royal Caribbean have LOTS to offer. If you email me, I'd be happy to send you some links to info I've found when researching this class of ships.

We had a great time on Carnival. We had two kids 9 & 11 and they loved it. RCL looks good for kids, but I hear their cabins are quite small.

we are going on the 3 day wonder which leaves the 26th. Have you tried that also I would look at expedia.com I bought ours through them and havent had any problems so far. It was also the cheapest rate i could find.

It appears that the 3-day on the 26th is still available. Maybe this plus a day or two at WDW would be the answer?
