Well, I've been told THIS is where we go to tell of all our exciting plans! I have much to plan. We got engaged in DW this past August, very romantic trip. Now, we've set the date, and put down a deposit on a local historical home. Oct, 10, 2010...love it, 10/10/10!!:thumbsup2

Here are some things we've chosen for our fall ceremony.
http://i408.photobucket.com/albums/pp169/soulmates66/OURLOGO.jpg This is our logo that we'll use for cocktail napkins, thank you's and on the stickers' we'll put on our candy bags!

Here is the coasters we'll order. Obviously the info will be ours! ;)

The historical home we've rented for the day. The big room with all the windows, is where the reception part will be. Very colonial looking on the inside!

http://i408.photobucket.com/albums/pp169/soulmates66/Bryan-RandHouse.jpg Love the porch, goes around the whole house. HUGE grounds for everyone to mill around. Beautiful back yard, with an old red shed, great photo op!

Where we will have Cocktail Hour, very colonial looking, love it. It also has a door that goes out onto the wrap around porch. Guests can mill around the grounds..there are over 10 rocking chairs on the porch with small tables as well. Very nice
http://i408.photobucket.com/albums/pp169/soulmates66/CocktailRoom2.jpg

The rest of the room, the table will be gone, as the caterer will bring their own. We're using the big table in this room, for the gift table in the reception room!

SO, you want a real SHOCKER?? The ENTIRE house, for the day, was just $1200.00!! Needless to say, we put down a deposit THE day we took the tour!! To us, it was a steal! This is their FIRST year opening it up for public rental. I have a feeling, once they get going, they'll raise the price, ALOT! We are just the 2nd couple to rent for next year. SO glad we have it in writing. ;)

WOW .... its so nice! It soooo huge too - AND it looks like you wont have to do hardly any decorations - its so nice as it is!! And the priceee i dont blame you for booking there and then!

Those stairs are so nice too- i can just imagine everyone standing on them having photos!

Great find!

Those were EXACTLY our thoughts..less decorating to do. Really, just going to have some floral centerpieces on each table and a few hurrican glasses filled with fruit and some garland over the fireplace. Anything more and it will take away from the house.

The stairs are very nice, can't go upstairs, but the owners said we can go on the stairs for pics!:thumbsup2

Feel free to steal the cake, I did!! ;) I've planned alot, but in all honesty, it's to keep my mind off my son in Afghanastan. He left shortly after his wedding in June. Planning has been a wonderful distraction! We LOVE the date, true, you can't forget it!!

I've just found your PJ! I love your plans so far.... I'm so jealous of your date! Thats brilliant! I wanted an Autumn wedding but DF really didn't... Such a shame! I bet your pictures will be just stunning- It's a fab season!

I love your venue... It's the sort of place I would have loved to have got married but we don't have anywhere like that round my area of the UK... It's really lovely!

I can't wait to read more of your PJ! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I know, you cant get such a lovely, open spaced house like that in the UK (exept for stately homes and castles-that are way way way overpriced for rental!) I think an autumn wedding is so great too - you can have so much fun with colours - deep and bright oranges, browns (SO LUSH!) ... if we had thought a little longer about our date, we would have tried to get our wedding on halloween (as we are both halloween nuts!) but we decided our date that we did choose would be better- oh well! Perhaps i might be able to convince DF for a VR in the far far future with a Halloween / Fall wedding theme!

Well, as for the dress...I've changed my mind. Found an AMAZING gown, in gold. However, I'll have to loose an easy 50lbs to get in it. It only goes up to a certain size  so, I have my work cut out for me. IF I can't get in that one, it comes in Plum, which is also a fall color. I'll post it soon!

Thank you SO much! I really wasn't sure how I'd be "Received" over here, but everyone has been SO wonderful! :grouphug: My DP wasn't too keen on a fall ceremony, so I PROMISED it would still be elegant. Once I started showing her some pictures of ideas, she was IN! ;)

Yours must be less stubborn than mine! I think your ceremony is going to be beautiful... The colours are just so rich and fabulous! Love them!

I'm another non-Disney bride who posts on here a lot too (With a PJ that some Disney brides convinced me to start!) and its great having the support of all the other lovely brides here on the DIS... They understand when I start having a tantrum over something (Like when we were booking our Honeymoon- My word was I in a mood that day!) and it's just the most amazing place to chat with other people all excited about all the same things!!

ooh yeah - i love that gown- who is it by!? either colour would be amazing! you should go try them on and see what colour you like best on you if you can!

Dont it make you laugh when they only do 'certain sizes'. When i went shopping for dresses it seems like they only have teeny tiny (UK size 8!)sizes for samples...it made me feel crap trying to squish my bum and tum in EVERY dress! But hey, i found one shop that do normal sizes- and i found my dress! :worship:

i was talking to DF the other day about having emerald in a band with diamonds... he reckons it would be hard to find - if you dont mind me asking, where did you find this ring?! i would love a ring with diamonds and emeralds in and if i can (its not my birthstone unfortunately!) then i might consider it for my band!

I think matching rings would be a nice - esp, that it has both your brithstones in.

I LOVE the dress, the house, the cake & the 2nd ring. Everything seems to be falling into place, it's kinda scary, isn't it? We have the same plans as you, regarding the up coming holidays, we will buy the kids, 1 very nice gift and some smaller ones. Guess we're ALL on the same page! As for the dress, I'm ordering it in April. I'll know when I get it how Far or Close I am to fitting in it. I figure, if I need to send it back and go up or down a size that gives me time. It's not from a bridal store here, have to order online. THAT'S what the stress will start! :scared1:

I've already got our budget in a word doc. I keep adjusting as we go...not much room left. I've even budgeted in spending money. I'm really going to have to stick w/ our plan, because there is nothing I'm willing to NOT have! ;)

Sooo, looks like January we'll all be IN THE ZONE!!! At least we have eachother to cry on eachother's shoulders!!

Thanks for following. You already have the dress picked?? Then "On with the show Honey!" Yes, I wish we could do this legally. Still hard to belive EVERYONE has rights in this country but gays & lesbians, seems odd to say, only a select FEW can live "The American Dream". Until then, we take whateversteps we can to move forward. I will be legally hyphenating my last name, and am VERY excited about that. Good news, both our last names start with P, so the monograming stays the same! ;)

We have been mulling over the idea of having our ceremony & reception video taped professionally. We did find a company who seems awesome. I explained it would be a quick ceremony, maybe 15 minutes, no attendants, just us & 3 readings. The owner of the company was SO willing to personalize a package for us, to meet our needs. He sent over a quote & contract yesterday. Wondering if anyone else is doing this and are willing to share prices? I have nothing to compare this to really. I DO know he seems the most reasonable. He sent over 2 DVD's full of wedding's he's done, so I have seen his work and am impressed. He's doing a short pre-ceremony taping, the ceremony, cocktail hour of our guests, some stills of us during picture taking and the reception, for $685, tax included, bottom price. We get 3 DVD's after. We will have to SQUEEZE this out of our budget, and I mean SQUEEZE. I decided yesterday to cut out the flowers at the reception tables and go with the ECHO FRIENDLY "Fruit in the Vase" look. LOVE that idea!! Any way, just wondering if anyones' looked into this.

Thanks!

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
You are the couple who’ll decide where to go.
You’ll look up and down streets. Look ‘em over with care.
About some you will say, “We don’t choose to go there.”
With your heads full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you’re too smart to go down, any not-so-good street.
And you may not find any
you’ll want to go down.
In that case, of course,
you’ll head straight out of town.
It’s opener there
in the wide open air,
Out there things can happen
and frequently do
to people as brainy
and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen,
don’t worry. Don’t stew.
Just go right along.
You’ll start happening too.
OH! THE PLACES YOU’LL GO!
You’ll be on your way up!
You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll join the high fliers
who soar to great heights!
You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have all the speed.
You’ll pass the whole gang, and you’ll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly you’ll be best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.
Except when you don’t.
Because sometimes, you won’t.
You’ll get mixed up of course,
as you already know.
You’ll get mixed up
with so many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with great care and great tact
and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)
KIDS, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
So, be your name Buxbaum or Dowrie or Bass
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O’Shea,
you’re off to great places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So … get on your way!

Here is the 2nd reading, my daughter Amanda will read.

Looking For Your Face”, by Rumi “ (back to top of page)
“From the beginning of my life I have been looking for your face, but today I have seen it. Today I have seen the charm, the beauty, the unfathomable grace of the face that I was looking for. Today I have found you, and those who laughed and scorned me yesterday are sorry that they were not looking as I did. I am bewildered by the magnificence of your beauty, and wish to see you with a hundred eyes. My heart has burned with passion and has searched forever for this wondrous beauty that I now behold. I am ashamed to call this love human, and afraid of God to call it divine. Your fragrant breath, like the morning breeze, has come to the stillness of the garden. You have breathed new life into me. I have become your sunshine, and also your shadow. My soul is screaming. Every fiber of my being is in love with you. Your being has lit a fire in my heart, and you have made radiant for me the earth and sky. My arrow of love has arrived at the target. I am in the house of mercy, and my heart is a place of prayer.”

This will be the last reading, read by the youngest, Abby.

From Captain Corelli’s Mandolin - by Louis Bernieres:
Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out ,whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the emotion of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.

Here are the lyrics to our 1st dance together...I've heard this song a MILLION times..however, recently, driving home from work, I actually listened to the words and they are SO moving and SO appropriate for us. We will play this one, sung by Arthea, of course! ;)

Lookin' out on the mornin' rain
I used to feel uninspired
And when I knew I had to face another day
Oh it made me feel so tired

Before the day I met you
Life was so unkind
But your love was the key to my peace of mind

Cause you make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman

When my soul was in the lost and found
You came along to claim it
I didn't know just what was wrong with me
Oh till your kiss helped me name it

Now I'm no longer doubtful
Of what I'm livin' for
Cause if I make you happy
I don't need to do more

Cause you make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman

Oh baby what you've done to me
You make me feel so good inside
Good inside
And I, I just wanna be close to you
Because you make me feel so alive
Oh what you've done to me
Close to you because you make me feel so alive

You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman
Woman

You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman

You make me feel
Oh baby what you do to me
Can make me feel so good inside
I just wanna be, I just wanna be
Oh what you've done
Natural woman

ahoy!

firstly... i would see if there are any other videographers in your area and see what they will quote you.. but for 685, i dont think you can go wrong- you might be able to neogiate with him and say you only want 1 or 2 dvds ... and that might drop the price, and if you think he looks pretty reasonable then go for it if you can squeeze it in! Just think, as well as your photos, a video is something else you can look back on, and i think its worth the investment. I dont think we will be able to afford video, but if we can, then i would have it.

Your daughters are stunning! and your son looks so handsome!

I read through the readings and they are so lovely- the reading that Aaron will read is great! - im sure he will put a bit of his humour in the reading and he will have you all chuckling!

Also, the song choice is so nice- especially as it has so much meaning for you. We found a song, and the words are so appropiate for us- Have a little faith in me but john hyatt- well we think it will be our song, some people dont like it! If the song has meaning to you, then go for it! sometimes you dont actually listen to the words in a song, but when you do, you realise what a great song it is- perfect example of the song you have chosen!

Thanks SO much Stacey!! I did check into other local videographers, and this one was the least expensive. Most of them started at $1000.00 :scared1: Just outta our price range. But I'll ask what the price will be with just 1 DVD. We can make copies for family later, good idea! ;)

I think my children are beautiful too, but I'm biased.:rolleyes1 And yes, I'm SURE Aaron will put ALOT of his personality in his reading, its' why I chose that one for him. This is just one of the reason's I want a video, to capture THOSE kinds of moments! Soooo hoping we can work that out. :thumbsup2

its us you know, the words fit us well- its like the story of us having faith in each other the whole time... we like it!:goodvibes

If the words in the song mean something to you, then its your song. I really love the music to a Bruce Springsteen song, its slow and sounds nice-but its actually a sad song - i never listened to the lyrics before, i just liked the sound! i think its sad eyes?

With your song, i have never really read the lyrics properly until today- and wow, its some strong stuff! Its really lovely- and the words mean something to you both, which makes it even more romantic.

Your SO right and that 1st dance is one you'll remember for ALWAYS. I don't know about you, but I didn't want to dance to a song that EVERYONE has used. I wanted something unique. Every relationship is unique, you know? It seems there was a time when every wedding I went to, the bride & her father were dancing to Butterfly Kisses...while it's a VERY tender & touching song, I think it's way over used. Just my opinion! ;)

wow- then its a sure bargain, and thats so cool he sent you the dvds too- you should ask about the dvd thing, nothing wrong in asking to get your price down so you dont have to 'squeeze' so much! hehe!

Hey- all parents are biased! hehe!! It would be so great to get a speech like his on video that you can look back on and think 'wow, he did a great job, look how he made us laugh, look how much he put into it'. Im sure your daughters will give their speech in their own way too!

I AGREEEEE! over in the UK, a very normal song would be like, have i told you lately that i love you, or youre still the one ect- old, over used songs, and i have been to too many weddings where i thought, everyone loves the songs and the words are lovely, but for me, we wanted something so different, and no one has heard of this john hyatt and i think thats why they dont like it as much, but WE like it! hehe! Its something thats unique to us, and i like the fact that no one has heard of it-but what matters more to me are the words.

Thanks!

Chris

AH HA!!! I knew i'd turn some onw over to the edible centerpiece idea!!!:yay:

But back to the whole edible centerpiece thing.... what kind of fruit would you be using? You could do anything... if you wanted to keep with the fall theme you could do red apples and those small pumpkins!

We've since changed our minds on the positioning of the C's...Christy liked the C's looking like this, CC. So when my friend prints them up next month, I'll upload the final product.

loving the save the dates ...'STDS!' tehehe!

i really think you should include pumpkins in your day somehow, whether they be in the centerpieces or placed somewhere in the house ... or even a few placed outside on them steps? Do you have a 'pumpkin patch' near you? We can only buy from supermarkets over here, but this year i grew my own pumpkin...its average size.. but is still green!! hahaa! They can be quite expensive, but sometimes you can find bargains and get huge ones for like £2!

Sorry to bombard with ideas but this whole fall theme gets me excited!!

VERY cute idea. Thanks about the gel tip, bet I can find them at Michaels. My plan for place cards, was to do something like, "Magic awaits you at table Aurora, table Cinderella, table Ariel...I can get away with it, since 80 % of my guests will be women!! ;)

hehe to add to the gel idea... you can get the table scatter crystals....if you look around you can get them for very cheap! you could put them in the jars / or baskets with the fruit?

Like Fall/ Winter you get frost/snow...so the crystals or the gel could be like the symbol of frost or winter on the fruits? Just throw the crystals all over the fruit! :wizard:

I really wanted a fall wedding....but since many of our guests have gone back to school (including us) it wouldn't work for a destination wedding. I LOVE the dress! Also, my son will be home from Afghanastan by then, I could never do this without all my children present. :grouphug:

Its strange, we loved the Living Seas venue at first, but it costs more and that meant we had to have Disney photos, but then it went to the Whitehall- which i loved because it had the outside area and it was a room you couldnt really go wrong with, but you had to decorate it a lot to get a particular style ... and then the Attic seemed our best choice- (we didnt go and site visit it either) At first i fell in love, then i fell out of love and now in back in love with it- im just hoping our guests dont find it too wierd- i mean, the whole granny house look is not the norm for a wedding reception- but i have grown to like it because of the character and the view from the place.

Im just hoping our guests will like it! haha! it will either be a hit or a miss!

Now I'm bouncing back & forth on the flower idea...while I LOVE the echo friendly vases w/ fruit, it's alot of extra work the day of the ceremony. We'd have to transport all the vases, and then put them together that day. :scared: As it is, we have alot to do that day. IF I go with the quote from the florist, which is reasonable, that's less I have to do, PLUS they deliver to us. All we'd have to do it put the centerpieces on the tables and hang some garland on the fireplace. Is the extra $200 that I would have saved doing them myself worth it? Not sure. I'll get to the house, at 2pm and the ceremony starts at 3:30.:sad2: Just thinking it's too much to do and we have so much already on our plates...still on the fence. Oye vey!:confused3

Is there anyone else who would be willing to help you out? I also love the eco-friendly option...I wanted to have a "green" wedding, but I figured I gave that up by going to disney (having people drive an hour to an airport, than to another country isn't very sustainable :rotfl:)

However, if the price is right with the flowers, and you think it will save you a headache, maybe it will be worth it?

When I was planning my fake fall wedding (since I don't actually get one :rotfl:) I was thinking I would use those pre-made centerpieces at Michaels.

Not sure if it is your style, but I love it!! Just thought I would throw more options out there for you!!!

I've seen those pumpkins, I personally LOVED it, but the DP did not. Her ONLY request, was to not fall into the "Country Wedding Look" and I have to respect that. She wanted to keep it elegant...that said, I think having flowers at each table would work out. We will have several people (Family) helping, but we have alot to to. We have 1.5 hrs to get 8 tables ready, set up 50 chairs for the ceremony, hang garland, set up the Candy Buffet, do the present & cake tables, set up the place setting table, AND get ready ourselves!! :scared1: I'm hoping to have my hair done early that day, so I can get to the house and just hit it full force...leaving me 40 minutes to get ready, calm down and have a glass of wine! ;) Oye vey stressing already and its' less than a year!! :lmao: I need to get over it! ;)

Hmmm... this is a good point. I dont know what i'd do. If its only 200$ i might go for the flowers. Then again i'm a control freak and would want to make sure everything was how i wanted it and might do the fruit/vase/crystals on my own. hahaha

if i was there - i'd help out!!

The last thing you need to be doing on your wedding day is running around doing everything and setting up- you both need to be relaxing and having fun. Its great that family will be helping out, at least you will be able to get it done quicker!

You must choose what the easiest and cheapest way is :confused3

Hello!

Since we are wedding twins (yeah for 10/10/10 brides!) and both doing a Fall theme I had to chime in! :goodvibes

We are doing the edible centerpieces. We are actually having our ceremony at 10:30 in the morning and then having a brunch reception (cause honestly, breakfast is our favorite meal of the day! :thumbsup2). The base color is going to be chocolate brown, and then those beautiful fall colors are going to be our accents. I have the base idea of what we are going to do, we are going to have glass jars on the tables and fill them with green apples. Then I want to have a few votives spread out around them. This is the part I can't decide on, I'm either going to get some ribbon in a burnt orange or so to wrap around the jar a few times and have the table number affixed on that, or after the apples are in the jars I am going to fill in the empty spots in the jar with coffee beans (I thought that might be nice since we are having brunch). I'm thinking if we do the coffee idea then we will have the nice aroma, and the boquets and all will really pop next to them on the tables. I just can't decide! :confused3 But we are going to save money by doing these ourselves, and a day before the wedding so they can just be delivered to the venue.

I love the readings that you picked for your children, very sweet, and they seem to have a meaning for each child which makes it even more special. :grouphug:

I love your song also. That is not anything that I ever would have thought of, but reading the lyrics, its beautiful. Right now we are most likely going to be using Your Song by Elton John.

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live.

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you.

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world.

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on.

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen.

I'm sure once you have everything figured out it will be beautiful!

He quoted us, 4 hrs, 2 cordless microphones to use, lighting for the dancing, he'll do requests, ALL the special songs we want, he has...and, drum roll please....

$400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo::yay::yay::woohoo:

We REALLY wanted a DJ but didn't think we could afford one...but at THIS price, I'd be crazy to pass this by! Guessing we'll get the $100 deposit to him soon and sign a contract! He also does video too, I"m asking him IF we do video also, does he give a package deal?? Who knows! ;)

Never hurts to ask about a deal...! We've saved a LOT just through asking. If you just say: "Is that your best price?" they'll drop it a bit mostly just because you asked! Thats certainly been the case with us! :thumbsup2

Sorry, just got caught up now. Love the house, said that in a previous post, reading are beautiful, kids will add their own personalities to the readings, which shall be interesting:thumbsup2. I would stick with the flowers, you both will have enough on your plates that day and even though the fruit in jars sounds very nice and easy, in the long run, you will need to add that to your 'to do list', which is probably long enough. LOL :scared1:
I like your invitations, very elegant and has the fall color theme.

The DJ is very reasonable but remember to get references, it never hurts to inquire and may save you from any heartache later. Remember to do your homework, espeically if it sounds like a great deal. Just a thought. I look forwarding to reading more about your planning. Good Luck!!

Thanks. Your right, we WILL have much to do, and to me, it was SO worth it to have the florist do it all. :) My friend designed the STD's, invites and will do our thank you's as well. She's awesome! The DJ is sending us a DVD with his video & DJ work. We'll get to see some of the weddings & events he's done. I looked at his online reviews and they were all positive, so that's a good thing. The real test will be seeing his work. ;)

I think your right, when it comes to Disney, those prices are in STONE sister!! However, out in the none-disney world, it's dog eat dog and these vendors are struggling. They all are competing for our business, so I'm gonna try it. I know with the caterer, that's what we did. We TOLD him, we can ONLY afford $25 per head, and we want.....and guess what?? He said yes!! With Disney, they KNOW their going to be doing wedding after wedding after wedding. It's a money making machine down there! We're SOOO in the wrong business!!;)

I know, it makes you wonder just how much money they make. I wish i could even haggle with the photographer- we want a 10 hour package, which sets us back to $2,700 with the special 'disney bride' discount... you cant haggle these photographers down. Grrrrrr!!

I already told you this in the emails but $25 per head is amazing, and for the amount of food! :scared1: Its sooo good!

We got his DVD in the mail yesterday, but we had to drive 3 hrs to & from the car dealership. Christy bought a new suv and I had to sign off on our old one. By the time we got home, it was 8, I was exhausted. We'll watch tonight. Then after I see his work, I'm going to email and see what kind of package he can put together. Truth is, his price for videoing our ceremony, is the SAME price as the other guy gave me and he told me THAT was a great deal. I'm thinking, if I can have the same company DJ & Video, I'd rather do that, keep it simple. I'll keep you posted. ;)

watched last night, VERY impressed. His price, for DJ & Videoing, along w/ 3 DVDs, ceremony & reception, we pick out all the music for the DVD, wireless lapel mics, and 2 cordless mics for toasting, is $1000. I think that's a great deal. What do you think? I've seen MANY sites that the DJ'ing starts around $850!! The DVD was really good stuff. We saw a few weddings, and they were all different styles. I think I hit the jackpot, again!!

That sounds like a great plan for the DJ slash video guy - let's hope his work is as good as it sounds! We weren't going to have videography but at the last minute changed our minds - I'm so glad we did, although we had to pay Disney prices

Your song choice and readings are perfect too - so appropriate - I love when couples make their ceremonies special to them. I also totally understand not wanting to have the same old first dance choices - we were the same.

We did Groovy Kind of Love by Phil Collins because that has been our song since we started dating! Anyway, you have a beautiful family and your plans are coming along nicely. At about 12pm some young kids took 2 of our pumpkins from the front door and smashed them in our neighbours gardens. ARGH!

I hope to be in Florida next Halloween! YAY!

That's so sad those kids did that. We left everything on our front porch, and nobody touched it. Pumpkins, a cauldron that mists, the dead body on the table, all the light up grave stones...everything. We were lucky. Not every neighborhood is so nice.

We're not, there is just no way we can wait! ;)

That gift is so gorgeous! One of our friends completed a Tinker bell cross stitch for us (one of my fave characters) as well as stitching our names on a pair of hand towels :lovestruc

Your Halloween sounds so much fun - I spent the day at a Halloween scrapbook crop, then I was at a quiz at my theatre. I dressed up as Malice in Horrorland, which was great fun!

How sweet to cross stitch handtowels, I LOVE handmade gifts. Your halloween sounded fun too, MALICE IN HORRORLAND?? Love it!:thumbsup2

Our honeymoon ressies are made!!! Our friends who are DVC owners, just rented 2 studios for us!! The 2 studios are LESS than 1 room at a moderate for 5 nights, can't beat that one!! :woohoo::woohoo: Why 2 studios? We're bringing my 2 daughters. They will be 15 & 21 next year and we promised next trip, they would be with us. Great thing about them coming, is we can hang out with them and have fun, but also do our own things. My middle daughter will be almost 22 and is just like me, VERY protective, so I have no worries about them venturing out on their own. I am SOOOO excited to be able to stay at BoardWalk Villas and share in the "Magic" with Christy & my daughters!! Life is good, we are blessed!

Just catching up on your PJ...wow, everything looks wonderful...I would say you have been sprinkled with pixie dust! :wizard:

When I saw the house, I thought I recognized it. First I thought Apex near downtown then Holly Springs near the lake then Cary...wherever it is, it is georgous. As I read your PJ I could actually picture the house with all your colors in it...fall is a great time for a wedding. My son got married in June, 2005 at NC State's rose garden and it was so hot and it was a morning wedding...now I am hoping my daughter picks fall when the time comes which I think an engagement will be early in 2010..

I love your cake, your save the date cards and the dress is my favorite. Whichever color your choose will be stunning.

You are two very lucky ladies...can't wait to read more...

and since I am local, feel free to PM me...maybe I can help.

Thank you SO much. The house is the Rand-Bryan House, in Garner. We're very excited about all the planning. Right now, we've just put the deposit on the DJ/Videographer, so that's 1 less worry. Already pouring over info for our Disneymoon!!

I too am a relocated Yankee. :thumbsup2 Moved here in 1985. From Mass originally.

Have you heard about wrappedhersheys.com ? they have some really cute ideas :cool1: We purchased from them for our 25th Anniversary in 2006 and was very pleased with it. We also had Yankee Candles custom made too...just had to have a little YANKEE in the event! We also did custom M&M's...

We own at Boardwalk too. That is the first DVC property we bought. We just love it there. So much to do. Make sure you all go over the Beaches n Cream at the Beach Club near the pool and have yourselves a 'Kitchen Sink' ..yummy! If you looking for a nice quiet pool head over to the pool near the community center of Boardwalk, which is on the back end of the resort. It is usually pretty empty.

Laid back, gorgeous, HUGE, and we were treated like royalty! Our friends who are DVC members, this is their home resort and they LOVE it. Infact, everyone we know that has stayed there, LOVES it as well!! We're going at a perfect time of year!! Can't wait, 10 months!! :woohoo:

These are at the BoardWalk Villas, over across from Epcot. Renting is WAYYY cheaper than regular rooms. We are renting TWO studios, for LESS than ONE room at a moderate resort!! One studio, with a kitchenette, balcony, FREE valet parking, queen bed, pullout sofa AND on the water, it's $540 for 5 nights!!! Depends on WHEN you go, rates change w/ the seasons. I can't say enough about renting points!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Oh my goodness!! thats amazing! i remember you telling me about staying at the boardwalk. I would LOVE to stay there as its so close to my wedding!! I really may have to consider into looking into renting!

Its not only me that wants to find a good deal- my mum needs somewhere that will sleep 5- and the room prices are absolutely CRAZY! a studio like that would be perfect! But for me and wayne- we want somewhere special as we will only be spending about 5 days in disney and you know, the boardwalk would be such a good location! i could roll out of bed and down the aisle!

*maybe you'll have to give me your friends details haha!! :rotfl:

Thanks for keeping Aaron in your prayers. We did consider doing the personalized candy, but have since decided on doing a CANDY BUFFET BAR. Our guests can take a to go bag home, and fill it with different candies of their choice!

I have seen pictures of a candy buffet bars from a wedding in October...wow, that is a great idea...have you picked your wedding cake and car bar vendors yet?? The girl that got married in October had a wonderful one and was very reasonable too. I think she said she is in Holly Springs which is just a few miles away! Let me know if you want the name and phone number and I will PM it to you.

p.s. my daughter is about to get engaged! She and her boyfriend have been looking at rings and she wants a diamond in the middle with sapphire baggetts on the side so last Friday he went by himself ... they have a tenative date 11/11/10

Yes, our wedding cake pics are on my thread, the vendor is out of Raleigh. We are going for our tasting after the holidays. She did our friends wedding! Having picked the candy vendors, prolly do something online.

My daughter's fiance picked the ring out all by himself, which is HUGE because he's never done anything like that. I've YET to see it, she's supposed to post pics today. She's 3 hrs away, so I won't see her till Christmas Day!! I won't make it till then...I need to see it NOW!

Mine hasn't picked a date yet, they know Spring of 2011, guessing April ish, maybe late March. We'll do all that after the holidays.;)

That is great news about your daughter! You will have so much to look forward to now in the next few years!

I really like the idea of a candy buffet, we are doing one for our at home reception. So many times favours are wasted because people don't like them, but with a buffet, they can take what they like. Plus it is fun, and adds to the decor!

Hi Chris, well 2010 is here and pretty soon your soulmate ceremony will be here too! You must be soooo excited:)

I hope all the plans you have made are in place and now you can sit back and relax. I can't wait to read your TR's.

And since your mentioned that your daughter recently got engaged, well, I will need some ideas because like I said in post #139, my daughter got engaged on Valentine's Day! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I would love to do an Escape Wedding for her at EPCOT but she is concerned about her friends having to spend their vacation for her wedding...I say what better way to spend a vacation than at a wedding for few hours and lots of time at DisneyWorld!

Hi Chris,
We actually are renting at the Boardwalk too. Instead of having spending extra money for welcome wedding party, we are renting Disney's Grand Villa for 4 days & 3 nights and we're having our Welcome Wedding Party there. I can't wait either. Keep us all informed of your plans!!!

thanks! I've been SO busy. Most of our plans have changed. Funny how that happends. We are now having a small, 25 guests, ceremony &dinner. We've rented a lovely private room at an AMAZING Italian restaurant. We are having it professionally photographed. Just a small affair, I'll wear a black cocktail dress and she is wearing grey slacks and a black dress shirt. My bouqet is yellow sunflowers with a hint of purple. Her bout is the same.

I'll post pics when we come back from DISNEY WORLD!!! :thumbsup2
