October.....WOW!!!!!!!! I am still contemplating going to FL next Tuesday...& WDW for the 1st time since 1997. But hard to pull DD17 from work for 6 days & justify a vacation for just us girls w/ $$ being tight. But, I haven't cancelled my air yet. I'll let you know if I will be gone. Still have hives, but all labs were fine, so I just have to learn to live with them. UGH!!
As usual, commit to as many or as few minutes as you wish for the month, then come back here periodically to update your progress....ie. post "I'm at 346/750 minutes so far" then I will be on to update the list in the first post.
10% - Getting Started
25% - On your Way!!
50% - Half Way There!
75% - You Can do it!!
90% - Just a little bit more!!
100% - You Did IT!!!!
Over the top!!!!!

Oh, I was looking for this thread this morning! :goodvibes I'm in for 500 minutes. Going to start low since this is my first time.
Glad to hear that the hives are better. I say go and enjoy yourself. You and your daughter will create memories that will last a lifetime. She is 17, she has lots of working years ahead of her. Just my 2 cents worth. ;)

I'm in again this month. I will put my goal at the same as September (1200 minutes), but hopefully I will hit it this month! I took too many weekends off in September. I need to go back to just one day off a week..................P

Welcome, all!! I have definitely decided not to go to FL next week. My DSis who lives there had BC 4+ yrs ago and had 3 call backs at her mammo Thurs & is having 2 biopsies on her 'good' side Tuesday. IF it ends up being cancer, I will need to go down & help w/ her granddaughters who she babysits (their moms are teachers) and to kind of run interference/be support until they can arrange something for the little ones. Prayinng that this is a false alarm. 6 mo ago she was told there was a 'spot' they needed to keep an eye on. She apparently now has 2 areas of microcalcifications & they are doing a stereotactic biopsy on both.

I'd like to join in. Its been a long time since I've joined a exercise challenge. I've managed to easily drop 45 lbs in the last 7 months and want to keep it going and most importantly not gain it back.
So I'm signing up for 800 minutes. That would be able to do with a 30 minute walk everyday and I had been promising my daughter we'd take walks around the block in afternoons. The beautiful weather is making it more desirable. Its going to be more amount length of time for now not quality. Just committing myself to the time since my daughter obviously is not likely to move at a quick pace. She doesn't have a weight problem and I want to be a positive role model so that she never does like I did.

I'll give it a whirl. I've never done it before so I have no clue how many minutes I'll do... I'll start with 600 this month. I was at the gym today thinking about how I should track frequency, so this will be great if I remember to post:lmao:
Is this just cardio minutes or does it include weight lifting?
10/1 45 minutes
10/3 36 minutes
so 81/600

Just wondering if it is too late to join. I need someone or something to get and keep me motivated. I will choose a low total of 600 min. I will be at WDW visiting my daughters (who currently live in Hawaii) from 10/21 to 10/28. The are doing Tower of Terror while I spectate. I have been having problems with my foot that prevented me from training.
Julie - please put me down for 600 min please if it is not too late

I'm here! My goal will be 1800 min again this month.
As of right now I am at 410/1800.
I just tried to go out & get some exercise time in, but it's so hot & humid I came back in after just a few minutes of wiping down our grill - never did get to any exercise. I was already drenched just from being out there, & I was in the shade! We are expecting to set heat records here in central FL today! So much for fall! I'm going to have to come up with plan B for exercise for today because it's just too hot for me outdoors!
Julie, hope all is going well with your sister. :wizard: pixiedust:

A HUGE Apology to all!! I kind of 'checked out' of life for a brief time. Nothing major, just bummed over many things...I'll update in my WISH journal soon!
Anyway....off to update!! It looks like everyone is doing well!
Yes, ANYthing you consider exercise is exercise. I count the minutes of 'moderate activity' my BodyBugg calculates - which is minutes when you burn more than 3 calories/minute....thus my large number.
Keep going! This month is nearly history and the dreaded candy is about to attack!!!

Today I surpassed my goal. I made a goal of 600 because I haven't done this before and I wanted to do something I could accomplish. Guess next month I'll up it. Might even try for 1000!
Do you count minutes you do crunches, lunges, arms, you know, those little at home exercises? I haven't been but maybe I should.

Personally, I count EVERY minute that I am consciously exercising. I don't necessarily count walking at the mall and things like that (unless I went there PURPOSELY to exercise), but I certainly count all of my home minutes, since I exercise at home the majority of the time!
I did another 55 minutes last night and 20 minutes this morning. That brings me to

Yeah, I'm not sure why I don't count the other stuff. I'll start next month. It only usually takes me about 10-15 minutes to go trough my arm exercises and do some crunches and such on my ball but it all adds up. I'm thinking about getting out the stretchie bands and incorporating them too for some strenght training next month. I'll count those minutes too. Thanks for the input!

Okay.... it was tight, but I squeezed in 35 minutes today.... that brings me to
1467/1200 for my monthly total and 251/250 for my mini goal for the week! So I made both goals!! Yeah!!
Wow... I must say that setting that mini-goal to finish off the month really helped. I was SO considering skipping my workout this morning because things got busy, but I KNEW I only had today to finish strong for the month, so I squeezed in the 35 minutes!! Thanks once more to goldcupmom for hosting this challenge! Watch out November... here we come!............P

2240/1800 min! :yay::banana::yay:
Exceeding my goal is great, but the best thing is that for the past week I am finally back on track with food! Even with all the exercise I have been doing, I was eating so badly that my weight was slowly but surely creeping back up! Not good! I am back on track now & plan to stay there for a while because I am tired of all my hard work in exercising adding up to nothing. I think I had been rationalizing that I could get away with bad eating as long as I kept exercising but I really do know that exercise and good eating habits are both necessary to achieve the healthy body that I want.
I am ready to move on to Nov. even though today is a badly needed rest day. :sunny:
