We are going to DW in two weeks and staying at a value resort so the quick service dining plan is free or we can pay about $120 for an upgrade to the plus plan. I already made reservations at restaurants but am now wondering if it is worth the planning and stressing (since my one year old isn't that fond of sitting now that she just started walking :-). Also, $120 isn't a bad deal for TS meals but I also have to factor in the tips that would also be extra compared to QS. I am thinking that maybe we should go with QS and then do one or two TS meals while we are there and pay out of pocket (since that would allow us to still have 2 QS meals those days, 2 snacks, 2 refillable mugs, less time in restaurants throughout our trip, less money on tipping and less planning of our days around eating). Any input on these thoughts? Any MUST eat recommendations with two little ones?

The tax is included in the dining plan but you will need to factor in tips for table service, which are not included.

I just found out there is a $50 fee to change to the QS dining plan since I originally booked the PLUS plan so it may not be worth the change anymore. It would only be a $70 difference instead of $120.

So you have the regular dining plan now, right? Better to keep it. You'd only save $70 to go to quick service...you'd pay that out of pocket for one table service meal. Stay with the table service - it covers almost every character meal. Our favorite has always been Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary for breakfast. All the classic characters, great buffet - lots of things little ones will eat. Mickey waffles, donuts, bananas, etc.

ALSO - you CAN use table service credits for counter service meals. So if you've had enough sit down meals - or you need to feed kids NOW, just use the TS credits at a CS restaurant.

Has anyone tried to use the TS for CS meals? I was told by a disney representative on the phone today that this wasn't possible since it is all computerized.

I wonder wondering if they would charge the $50 change fee to upgrade? I have QS and thinking about upgrading.

They don't charge a change fee if you upgrade your reservation; only if you downgrade it.
