Very true... the QM and I will have to discuss which Royal Voyage to book first... as soon as the Royal bank account has been replenished... I hear around the 22nd maybe... that would be very nice... http://images.zaazu.com/img/fingerscrossed-fingers-crossed-goodluck-smiley-emoticon-000674-large.gif

Hi everyone!
TA is over... so now it's time to focus on the next cruise.
hehe
Fortunately this time we don't have to wait 1-2 years for the next one!
Planning on arriving pre-cruise for at least a few days at DL/etc. just me and kids- DH arriving shortly before cruise (due to his vacation days allowed each year)
I'm trying to "decide" on things- where to stay, if I'll drive or fly (even if I drive I still have to pay for flight from Vancouver to LAX then get transportation to my vehicle parked at the port? grrr But if we fly both ways then I wouldn't have a vehicle to do other things I want to do in the area, we'll need transportation from airport to DL seperately from Jeff plus trans to port then trans from port to airport) etc. etc. I keep getting overwhelmed with the decision and go into avoidance mode. haha
Looking at staying at Park Vue Inn across from DL entrance- anyone ever stayed there before? Just curious.

:dance3:Hey Kids....we're under 200 days now!:dance3:
Welcome to 'one'der land! *
*as we say in the weight loss world when one finally breaks below 200
.
NO WAY!! That doesn't seem possible! :thumbsup2 I was just telling Tyler yesterday that by the time we cruise, it will be a month shy of THREE YEARS since our last cruise. He doesn't believe it, says it only feels like one year. :thumbsup2 Probably because of everybody else going over the past could years. That makes it more tolerable when we can live vicariously through everybody else. :goodvibes
And Jackie, I'd LOVE to enter the other kind of 'one'der land! :cloud9:

Yes, yes and yes we are doing Champagne Girls on the LA Repo portion of the B2B. Don't forget the Old Geezers and Geezers In Training cookies and hot toddies up at the Cove Cafe. I'm sure we'll do a 3:00pm Promenade Lounge meet and greet for BBCs. There may be a PJ breakfast somewhere along the way....don't forget to pack your flannel footie PJs.
Are you all still going to be able to make this trip, considering your move and Shannon's new job? I sure hope so, but I completely understand if not.
Wait what?
Now I regret (even more) not getting to know the Champagne girls and Old Geezers and Geezers in training on the WBTA- I didn't know they'd be on these cruises also! *facepalm* Bad girl, Shelley... bad girl.

Yep...don't see a need for any more.
I thought doing a Thieves and Friends Secret Mickey exchange would be fun.
I'm pretty much done with FE...except for when I cruise with any kids I may be bringing along with me or if there was an adults exchange (or an 'all consumables' exchange). I have a lifetime supply of stickers and pirate tatoos! :lmao:
.
Um me too
(ornery side of me makes mental note to bring some and stick in your FE on these cruises LOL You need more.... right? I think that's what you meant. :lmao: )

Calmer seas and sceanery on both sides of the ship. For those with verandahs (and portholes), since we retrace our route up and back, you will get to see both views. :thumbsup2

aw shucks.. making me regret even more that these are the only cruises we'll have without verandahs. *pouts and kicks a rock with foot*

Yep, the "Champagne Girls" are spreading. It started with Deb (EllaEnchanted) and our friend Mandy (UK Angel) organizing it for the '08 WBPC. Then we did it again for an '09 Tortola cruise. And they've done it on the WBTA last month. I think Deb has organized one on another cruise of hers (Deb?) and we'll do it again for this one. THEN, there will be another on the Dream in November '11 at Pink!!. Hoping as more and more DISers have been joining it will show up on more and more cruises and some day, ladies in pink will take over the WORLD! Bwaaaaa hhaaaaa hhaaaa!
(sorry, lost control for a moment)

As an 'insider' for these cruises too, I know what you mean. But there are plenty of spots for viewing, even inside. I'm picturing a window at Diversions where I can hang out with an adult beverage, a book and an amazing view! :thumbsup2 But don't tell anyone or they'll take 'my' chair!

Which reminds me of a question- I've been reading about outlook cafe and I think I read it's only for 18+. That's probably good to keep it from being overrun with kids, tweens and teens... but where CAN kids see outside the ship without freezing to death? We're Texans-for all but our yankee dad of the family (DH) we're all gonna be freezing to death. Can you bring kids up there or is is strictly for adults only? I thought we'd love to spend time there- but if miss RitaPatita can't come with- we're gonna end up having to enjoy the view somewhere else freezing our tootsies off with her? Well I will be. DH will probably be out there in shorts. *rolling my eyes at him* :rotfl: (she'll still only be 10 on these cruises...)

Hi Everyone,
Don't even know if anyone remembers me and Greg now--it has been so long since I have been on these boards.!!!!! I am now in a panic trying to play catch-up on any information, so if there is anything left we can still be included on, please let us know..ie, champaigne girls, meets, etc. We would really appreciate it. Is there any special laynard for this group?? We are getting the one from Ken on the other thread.
On a happy note though....the reason we have been soooo busy, and not been on the boards is::: WE ARE NOW FLORIDA RESIDENTS!!!! LET THE DISCOUNTS BEGIN!!! PLEASE! Greg and I now live in the Villages, Florida, which is about 60 miles north of THE MOUSE, and about 20 miles south of Ocala.
Thanks for any info....def. looking forward to going to Alaska-it has got to be warmer than Florida this past month!! I think Monica, Lisa, and Connie forgot to pay the electric bill for the sun!!! It has been in the 20's at night, and COLD-not cool! I heard it got down in the 40's in Key West!! Hopefully we are past the worst????!!!

Paid in full. At least for Alaska. Price went up by about $30 I figure that was taxes. So much for a "quote", an offer and an acceptance.
But anyways - I noticed my reservation has my old address on it - I changed my address in my Disneycruiseline website profile - but am not sure how to change it on the actual reservations. I don't want them sending me stuff to the old address. Anyone have any ideas on how to change it online?

Not sure about San Francisco. I have been there before, so done the basic tourist stuff. I think I'd like to research a really nice place to go out to dinner though. Kind of saving 'excursion money' for Alaska.

ok, let me try to fill everyone in. The guys and I are paid up for B2B, selected some Palo times, activites in Victoria (the pub crawl of course), Skagway (the train of course), Juneau (the tram & glacier) and just the lumberjack show in Ketchikan as the halibit was gone already. As I get to SF every so often, the guys and I are going to just ride the cable cars and visit the cable car museum, the chocolate factory etc. Life has been very busy for us and we miss talking to everyone, but I will tell all while I relax with a beer in the pub onboard. As an added treat, my parents will be cruising with us on the repo portion. Will try to catch up either here or on facebook as I can. Are we doing door magnets, lanyards, pub crawls, etc for this B2B? Let me know and I will try to help as the guys and I can.

And right you should.....hahaha....especially since it's such a hot idea that DCL stole it from us to use for PINK on the DREAM. I'm just saying......as Bubba would say.
I have only done two so far Jacks.....WBPC and Tortola. My next two are scheduled for this trip and November Dream. But Pink only holds 30 comfortably. You can crame 50 in but it will be tight. We normally have 50 or so people attending. We'll see what happens as it gets here. For now, I'm done with the maiden voyage and onto this trip. I'll start working on getting the Champagne Girls organized for this one. Oh, and even though I have only done two, I think tree others were/are done or being done. Connie did one on a Med I think it was and Corrina did one I believe on the TA. There's also another one in the planning stages for the Sept TA 2011. That makes five plus my two that I'm planning and we have a total of seven Champagne Girls tastings. We're growing, but we have not taken over any of the world yet....:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Champagne Girls? Do tell.
It will be me, my DD(5) and my parents for the whole Disneyland-Repo-Alaska extravaganza. Except that my parents are abandoning us at Disneyland to head to Vegas for a couple of days. Too much Mickey for my Dad, I think, lol.
For the Repo, we're doing the Views of SF and Muir Woods in SF, then the horse-drawn Trolley in Victoria. I booked an afternoon tea at the Empress for my daughter and I online.
For the Alaska portion, in Skagway, we're doing a Yukon bus/rail tour with Chilkoot Charters that includes the White Pass, Emerald Lake and dog sledding. In Juneau we're doing the DCL Whale watching & Mendenhall glacier excursion. I'd like to also do gold panning, but it won't let me book two excursions online, so I'll try to take care of that onboard. Ketchikan is sort of driving me nuts because I want to do the Misty Fjords flightseeing, but I'm really not sure my 5 year old will enjoy that for the money it costs. My parents are just doing a city tour, not something she'd really like, so I can't send her off with them, lol. Right now I have the Rainforest, Totems and Raptor Center excursion booked. We'll see. I keep changing my mind. We're also doing the Disney Exclusive Lumberjack show. I just went to the lumberjack show website and bought tickets for it. Exclusive apparently doesn't mean actually exclusive.
For anyone that has been to these areas before, how does that look for a 5 year old girl?

CHAMPAGNE GIRLS.....CHAMPAGNE GIRLS.......CHAMPAGNE GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Calling all the Champagne Girls.....I'm about to make an announcement:
I will be hosting a Champagne Girls Tasting for women only on the Alaskan cruise. Every adult woman is invited. You don't have to drink champagne to attend, but it certainly doesn't hurt if you do.
Here's how it works:
I request a room from DCL. I order a variety of champagne from DCL. I put it on my bill. All the ladies attending are required to wear pink. Pink tiaras and boas will be provided for everyone to wear. We will take a group picture that will be very pink. We will "taste," "drink," "guzzle" and consume all the champagne while discussing it and many other things. It's a fun, fun way to spend two hours on a sea day.
We have a mascot, Sassy Bubbles, who is attending and will be dressed as a pink tink. We have ladies who won't drink any champagne, they are honorary members and can attend without any charge. We have ladies who will just have a little champagne and not all of the varieties, they are the sippers and will be charged $5 cash to attend. We have ladies who are drinkers/guzzlers and will drink all the various champagnes offered, they are the tasters and will be charged $10 cash to attend. I collect some money to offset part of the costs to me. In no way does it cover all of my expenses, but I prefer to offer it at a minimal price so that many more ladies will be able to attend. I always say, "the more the merrier."
If you are interested in attending please post on this thread, send me your name, stateroom number and category preference.....honorary member, sipper or taster.....so I can determine how much champagne I need to order.
Here are some pictures of two previous Champagne Girls Tastings that I have done:
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310/EllaEnchanted00/champagnegirls051-1.jpg
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310/EllaEnchanted00/tortolacruise9-09065-2.jpg
Our first tasting was done in 2008 and the second in 2009. Since then three other Champagne Girls Tastings have been done by others that attended, not by me. Personally, I think they stole the name PINK for the Champagne Bar on the DREAM from us. hahaha.

For us, 3 people SNA to Long Beach then Long Beach to the Wonder the next morniing = $80. That's a private service, not a shared ride.

Ken, we're going to need transportation from the Port in Vancouver to the hotel. Then we can offload our luggage and go meet everyone to play. What is the best means of transportation to do that? Can I just grab a cab from the port or should I have a reserved car/shuttle waiting?
Btw, If you and the family want to come with us to our hotel and drop off your bags while we all schedule a meeting place, you are certainly welcome to do so. You can pick them up to go home after our outing with friends.
I'm staying near the Amtrak station on East Hastings Street. Can I just grab a cab easily in the morning from the hotel to the station?
I'm also planning on taking a cab from the Seattle Amtrak station to the Seattle/Tacoma airport. I should check with Kaylee to make sure this will be easy enough to do. John and I will pick up a car rental to use for three days and then return it to the airport to go home.
I think I have all my transportation connections worked out now. Thank goodness that part is done.

Can u PM me the name of your hotel? I really want to make sure it is NOT in a bad part of town. Depending on how far down East Hastings it is, you may want to rethink staying there. I am heading down to Vancouver for March 3rd so I can do a quick driveby and make sure it is a decent place for my friends.
As for transportation, a cab should be easy enough. We are currently trying to figure out transportation for ourselves. My uncle lives in Richmond (as a northerner I consider Richmond part of Vancouver), and my father has an apartment in Richmond as well. My father and stepmother are on the cruise with us so all 6 of us have to get from the terminal to Richmond. I'm just not sure how to do that. I am trying to figure out a way for my uncle to bring 2 cars to the port at the same time!! :lmao: Worst case we can send my bags back in the car with my Dad and we can take the skytrain back to my dad's apartment after we are done having fun with our friends. Yeah which is what I am saying if I send my bags with my father and Shannon and I take Skytrain back to my dad's place after we are done touring with you all. I HATE driving around Vancouver and tend to park and walk where I can. And if I hate driving I hate finding a parking spot even more!
The ONLY thing I can see needing a car for is to drive around Stanley Park just to see the whole thing and stopping where we want at different locations around the park. Vancouverites like to think themselves as fitness freaks so walking is pretty common all over the city. However, skytrain, taxis (water and regular) and the tour trolley are pretty easy to find.
We'll figure it out.
Maybe we need to see who all is staying. Who all wants to do something as a group. And what you all want to see/do as a group. Shannon and I will just go with everyone else and can put in ideas. But I am more willing to see what everyone else wants to do and go from there.

If you and mom want to go, book the cruise and then let me know. Make sure it's not too late. As far as asking others.....they know about it and they didn't respond. So let's just let sleeping dogs lie. I'll put the info out there again for everyone. If they want to go, they will respond themselves.

Here's where we are going for brunch on Easter Sunday. If you would like to attend, let me know. Don't wait too long. I'm going to make final ressies very soon.
Tink was telling me about this brunch, I can attest to the greatness of it as it is just 2 miles up the hill from my house. If you need me to make arraingements or help just let me know. I can also get $100 worth of gift cards for $80 from Costco to help make it less expensive for everyone. My only headache is that Easter is still in the middle of Passover. Luckly, passover finishes before the cruise. You may want to also consider a visit to see Walt's Barn and home of the Carolwood Pacific Society at my Los Angeles Live Steamer's facility. I can also probably pull my train out for those who would like a ride. If there are enough interested, I can try to call in a favor and have the barn opened for us. (it is normally only open on the 3rd sunday of the month)
PM me or have Tink buzz me if you have any interest in my helping out.

Yes, Holly. There is an LA thread and an Alaskan thread and this thread is the B2B thread for the Thieves doing it. So there are three to post on. I understand why you're confused.;)

OK, thanks. The other 2 are bookmarked on the other computer which is used most. This one is the only one bookmarked on my laptop, which I don't use often because it's so small, some websites don't work, and it's Linux, not Windows, so some things don't work right. It's just sort of a backup when I want to sit on the couch and be lazy, or when Tyler's using the other.
Good to know my confusion is justified. :thumbsup2

Michelle, my formerly anti-social mom wants to crash the party too. ;) She emailed me and asked "Didn't I see Deb mention on FaceBook something about champagne drinking?" :rotfl2: I politely told her she can't come because everybody has to wear pink and I know she doesn't own pink. She said, "Not only do I not own pink, I wouldn't be caught dead even touching pink! But I do want to be sociable." Maybe I can sneak up behind her and slap a pink wig on her head? Maybe she won't notice. :lmao:

Holly, tell her to come at the end of the party after we have taken our pink picture!! We should be there from 2-4 so if she comes around 3:30pm that should be fine. Then she doesn't have to wear pink or a boa or a tiara and she won't be in the picture. Instead, she can come and socialize and have some champagne with us. She's an honorary Thief and very welcome to join us on her comfort level!!!!

You should do what Jackie does, just book a crap load of cruises, and cancel / move the ones around - she always manages to get more cruising done that way! I never in a million years thought I'd be a GOLD cruiser (well I will be in Alaska) - I only thought I'd try Disney Cruise lines once or twice... and here I am - again! It's been a LONG time since you cruised... 2008 right? Panama? If I remember correctly - that's been a long time, time sure does fly indeed!

So I am wondering, is there still going to be a brunch at the Castaways in Burbank prior to sailing?
Does anyone want to see the Disney Barn and ride my train prior to the cruise?
Is there a FE list for the Alaska trip or just the Repo?
I am trying to play catch up on reading the lists, but as usual, the guys and work have me running every which way but loose.
I think I will have to start packing on Apr 26th so the guys don't get a clue!
See everyone in just a few weeks.

Michelle, I'm pretty sure you and I are the only ones who haven't been on a cruise since Panama Canal. I certainly wish I could afford to go every year, but at least this way the excitement just has longer to build, and we get to live vicariously through all our friends going on all their cruises and sharing great pictures. :goodvibes LOVE to see the pictures! :thumbsup2 Makes the wait seem not so long.
