Here is what I know about the 5th floor room numbers at the Beach Club Villas:

That I know of, there are two elevator locations from the 5th floor. One location, with two elevators, leads to the main lobby. The other, with one elevator, leads to the pool and the parking lot. I saw a plan that indicates a third elevator, but I have not found it. Also, there is a corridor off the rear of the building that is not served by an elevator, but is served by stairs. I do not know to where the stairs lead. It appears that the longest walks on the 5th floor are from the rear corridor. Once you reach an elevator, there is no waiting because the elevators are VERY fast.

The closest rooms to the two elevators that lead to the main lobby are as follows:

Front of building with quiet pool view:

516, 528, 530, 534

Rear of building (I presume some of these rooms have an Epcot fireworks view, but I have not been in any of these rooms):

525, 527, 529, 531, 533

The closest rooms to the elevator that leads to the quiet pool and parking lot are as follows:

Front of building with quiet pool view:

566, 560, 558, 554

Rear of building (I presume some of these rooms have an Epcot fireworks view, but I have not been in any of these rooms):

563, 561, 559, 557, 555, 553

If anyone would like more information, let me know before Friday, when we are leaving.

Will you be crying when you leave? How long until your next trip? And, thank you so much for taking the time to find these room numbers. Sorry you only have one more full day before you must say so long.

If you favor a room with a view of Illuminations, you should specify this in your reservation. I think most of the rooms listed above do have an Illuminations view, however there is an extension corridor that may obstruct some views. I spoke with a man in one of the rooms on the extension corridor at the rear of the building who said he could not see Illuminations from his room. As far as I can see, rooms on each floor in the extension corridors ending in odd numbers from 39 to 52 probably do not have an Illuminations view. However, it appear that the majority of rooms on the rear of the building that are not in the extension corridors do have an Illuminations view.

Our room number was 546. It was on the Epcot side of the "T". The even numbered rooms on this hall all had great views of SE and the fireworks. HTH

Stinson,

Are all of the fifth floor rooms non-smoking or are there smoking rooms mixed in?

Thanks for all of your reports! I'll be _almost_ as sad as you are when Friday rolls around and it's time for you to leave. It has been wonderful, sharing your vacation vicariously.

Inky - All rooms on the 5th floor are nonsmoking. According to the front desk, smoking is allowed only in 14 rooms in the rear wing of the 4th floor.

Halle - As best I can count, there are 15 rooms with large balconies, large enough to be comparable in size to the balconies at Old Key West. All of these rooms are in the front of the building, toward the center of the building, facing the quiet pool. I only know the room numbers for eight of the rooms. They are 254, 260, 266, 360, 366, 454, 560 and 566. Rooms 254 and 454 have huge balconies and I believe they are 2 bedroom suites. Rooms 260, 266, 360, 366, 560 and 566 are immediately adjacent to the elevator that leads to the pool and parking lot and also have very large balconies. I do not know the size of any of these units, but I think three might be studios. If you look at the artist's rendering of the front of the building in promotional literature sent out by DVC, you can see that the rooms with large balconies are located under the turrets. All 15 rooms appear to be in good locations and close to an elevator.

I have a stupid question. On our reservation I requested Epcot view. Is this the same as Illuminations view? I don't want to assume anything. To me its the same but to someone else it could be 2 different views.

Hi Everyone

Just got back today, stayed at BCV 2 weeks, had room 328, studio non-smoking, handicapped. Close to elevator and a huge balcony, when I get time I'll post a full room report.

Stayed in Room 560 for one night last week. Great view of the quiet pool. Huge, huge I mean huge balcony. Room was beautiful (studio) still had the "new smell". DH said sofa bed was comfy. Had a bigger coffee pot than BWV.

The only two negatives I can say were: the air conditioner didn't seem to be working properly, pretty warm in the room even though it read 69 deg., and the big complaint - no way to turn out the very very bright light on the balcony at night. Wanted to sit out there at the end of the evening and felt like I was in an operating room. Called the front desk and they said the lights can't be turned off. Lasted for about 2 minutes and they called it quits!

I would definitely stay there again and request that room. While walking to Epcot we saw a lot of rooms with views of nothing - could be pretty risky there. At least at BWV the worst you can get is the front entrance!

You know what, now that I think of it, my light on the balcony didn't work, I remember DW mentioning it, I just thought it was another small problem because the resort is new.

Now I glad it didn't work, that would have definately kept us up.

RayJay -

The light didn't keep me awake, those drapes are really light-proof!

I was disappointed because it was the last night of our vacation and I was trying to suck up every last Disney moment possible by sitting out on the balcony for a while and going over all the wonderful memories from the past week. Just got to have an extra hour's sleep instead!
