is it true that you can't use fake rose petals?? HOw much does Disney charge for them. Can you bring your own and set it up yourself? Do you have to clean them up as well?:surfweb:

You cant use fake petals outside- if they blow into the water- birds might eat them.
If you are planning to use the petals for a staged exit- I was quoted at 2.50 per guest.
For tables I was quoted $25 for a roman style table and 15 for the cake table.

Hope this helps.

Do you can use fake ones inside WP for decorations?

Yes, you can use fake ones inside. You can also buy your own real petals - either freeze-dried or fresh - from an outside vendor as long as you put them down yourself.

WOW! :cool1: You can use fake petals inside the Wedding pavilion??? I'm so excited to hear this! I thought you could only use REAL petals everywhere! How about in the ballrooms?? Can you use fake petals for decoration there?? And if you provide your own fake petals in the WP (to lay on the ground next to the aisle runner), must you have someone to clean it up afterwards??? Or will Disney do this for you? How about the ballroom reception--on the cake table?? THANKS SO MUCH!!! :goodvibes

Yes - you can use the fake petals inside anywhere - the only exception would be venues at Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge, where they have certain restrictions to protect the animals that extend to indoor venues (like Jiko's Wine Room).

You don't have to clean them up - Disney does all the cleanup after events regardless of what's been left behind and where it came from. :thumbsup2

And no clean up too??? :cool1: I was thinking I'd have to assign people in the wedding party to start picking up the petals as soon as we gt our photos taken at the WP--hahaha!! :rotfl2: I'm sure they wouldn't be too happy with that. :rotfl: THANKS again!!!

Good question Disneylover12.24.09!! I was also curious about this as well, but had forgotten about asking it altogether. I'd like to use REAL dark red rose petals for the petal toss (staged exit) and had been told by my sister that it may stain my dress and that I should inquire further about this....so to all previous brides with REAL rose petals, did it stain your dresses when you used REAL petals for the petal toss???? Should this be a concern?? Thanks for any help and advice!! :goodvibes

We are using dark pink petals and our WP said they put them mostly toward the outside of the aisle to reduce the risk of them staining my dress.

I had dark pink petals as well as light pink & white down the aisle and honestly I didn't have any petal staining on that I know of. The bottom of my dress was so black by the end of the night & MK shoot from just normal dirt etc that I couldn't tell you if any was actually from the petals.

Most likely you should be able to get any stains out when you have your dress cleaned so i don't think you should be too worried about it. :goodvibes

Thanks ladies! :goodvibes I figured that that naturally the bottom of my dress while probably be dirty by the end of the night anyways ...I guess I was just wondering mostly about the top part of the dress when fresh rose petals are tossed...they can land on your dress (top area) and/or brush past your dress...would that cause stains?? Have brides experienced this??

I had hot pink rose petals land IN my bodice during the petal toss (you can see me fishing them out in the video :rotfl:) and there was no staining. :thumbsup2

Would anyone know the rules with regards to the Disney Cruise Line?

We are getting married on Deck 7 so I presume I can't use fake petals. What about freeze dried petals, or are there rules about taking those on the ship?

I don't really want to pay out $55 for a flower basket with petals as I only want my youngest son to throw some down the aisle before me.

I presume if I want to decorate the table at dinner that I can use fake petals inside the ship for that, is that ok?

Thanks for any help.:goodvibes

Bree has said it is okay to use the freeze dried petal. No silk b/c of threats to wildlife if they blow in the water. I am going to order some from save-on-crafts.com and see how they do!

I was told by the previous planner, Cathy, that deck 7 is really breezy and that it makes it pretty much worthless for the petals. I told her that I was going to try anyway. She also said DCL did away with the swagging between the bows b/c the wind would blow it and get it all tangled up.

So lets hope for a light breeze on our wedding days!

Thanks for all of this information! :)

Anyone ever picked their own petals off of the flowers and put them together in bags? Has this worked out well? Is it cheaper?

This is great information, thanks! I'd love to line the aisle runner with some silk petals in our colors to really make the WP more our own. Now I just have to think of who in the world I can trust to put them down for me when it comes time!

Thats great, thank you!:thumbsup2 I will have to see if there is a problem with bringing them into the US from the UK. If so then I will try to get some in Orlando when we arrive.:goodvibes

Praying for a light wind or I will be having a seriously bad hair day!!

I just talked to Rosie last week. She ASSURED me that using red petals on the aisle would definitely stain the bottom of my dress. While the bottom of my dress is going to be filthy anyway, I don't think I want to ADD more stains if it can be avoided.

But for other brides looking into doing this...I am having my ceremony at SBP and she quoted me...
$65 for petals to be sprinkled random over entire aisle
$100 for petals lining the right and left side of the aisle

I know I have seen them here where I live in both Hobby Lobby and Micheal's. Most craft stores have a "wedding section" and they are usually inexpensive and if you watch the sunday paper you might even be able to find a coupon (i know both of those stores run 40% coupons every other weekend). or just try googling it...i just typed it in google and found this website. http://store.silkrosepetals.net/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.catalog&categoryID=1
they seem to have a wide range of colors. i think they are relatively easy to find. good luck!! :)

Does anyone know how much I should buy for the WP? I was quoted $400 for petals lining the aisle and would like to get the price down by buying them myself :)

The dimensions for the Wedding Pavilion aisle are 90 inches wide by 54 feet from the door to the bottom step of the altar. This page on Flyboynaturals.com shows how many cups you need per square foot to have various levels of coverage, so get out yer calculator! :thumbsup2

It does, but if you think about it, the aisle would have to accommodate at least 3 people being able to walk down side-by-side at once. Like if a bride has both her parents walk her down the aisle or if there are two bridesmaids for one groomsman to escort. And there also has to be plenty of room for people in wheelchairs, with walkers, etc. That is how I rationalize the width of the aisle! :thumbsup2

I didn't get the petals because I was afraid I would have spent the money and they just blow away. We did have a light breeze (in my video below) but it can get windy on deck.

Those numbers came straight from Disney. I think it's like Sarah says....

Most aisle runners seem to only cover a third or half the width of the WP aisle, which I've never understood because for me the point would be to cover up that carpet! :rotfl:
