I've just noticed in the Radio Times that tomorrow's Vet programme at 7pm on BBC1 has the vets performing surgery at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
I don't know if we'll see much behind the scenes stuff or just close ups of tigers but I think I'll watch anyway.

This was great - did anyone manage to see it? I didn't know you could see the labs and operating theatre in Animal Kingdom - must look out for these next time and check on 'Rainbow' of course :D

Kaylee, the vets rooms and operating theatres are in Rafiki's Planet Watch (what used to be called the Conservation Station). You get there on the little train from the Africa section of Animal Kingdom. This part of AK is often overlooked, but I think it is a nice diversion from the rest of the park. The building itself is cool and quiet, with a range of interesting things to look at including interactive exibits about conservation, presentation from AK keepers on animals, the vet station and a small outdoor petting yard. It's a nice place to rest and recuperate, and still be entertained and informed about the animal world.

The programme was great wasn't it? :D
Just a warning about the petting yard - it stinks! I mean literally, not that it's a bad attraction LOL!!! We went there in May 99 in the blistering heat and of course the kids HAD to go in with the goats to stroke them, very pongy I can tell you! :o
