Marriage License Needed??

When we cruised last year, I did not need to bring our marriage license to show my name change, only my Birth Certificate and Driver's License...I have a friend getting ready to cruise on RCCL and they are requiring her to bring a marriage certificate also. Has this policy changed on DCL recently or do we just need a BC and driver's license still???? Need to know if we have to order a copy of marriage license... Thanks!

I have never brought (or needed) a copy of my Marriage License on any cruise that I've been on, including my Honeymoon. Could it be that your friend that is going on RCCL is under 21? This could be the reason they are asking for the marriage license.

Just need birthcertificate and drivers license or Passport. Your friend may have gotten mis-information -- as my parents recently travelled on RCCL and just needed the same as I mentioned. Possibly it has to do with the ports your friend will be traveling to?

Thanks guys! I didn't think Disney changed their policies, but I wanted to check...my friend is over 21 and their cruise only goes to Nassau and Coco Cay...I told her I didn't think she needed it, but she said they told her that she did, so.....

Your friend will need her marriage license if there is any discrepency in the name she is booked under and her legal identification -- ie: if she booked it under either her married name or her maiden name, and her passport or birth certificate or other phto ID doesn't match, she'll need proof. The attention paid to identifying people when travelling has changed a lot since last year. I now travel with my marriage license all the time, because my plane tickets are usually in my maiden name ( freqent flyer account reasons), but my passport and other photo ID is in my married name. Just telling people "oh, that's my maiden name" doesn't quite cut it anymore.
