We are booked on the 4/26/03 Western and wonder who will be with us? We are a family of 4....me, dh, dd14 and dd11. We are going with 4 other families, who, like us cannot wait. Three of us families did the Eastern this year and had a great time. So, who is going????

We are going on that cruise too - have had it booked since February and I can't believe we are now "only" 283 days from getting on board. It will be DH, DD6, DD5 and me!

Glad to hear that there are more of us "DIS"ers going!

Hi!
We will be joining you all on the 4/26/03 cruise. This will be our second cruise....last went on the Eastern cruise of 4/2001.

My hubby and I will be traveling with our 14 yo (will turn 15 3 weeks before the cruise) daughter and friends that will be bringing their daughters approx. ages 13 and 16.

Glad you've started this roll call list!

Hey that's great. I'm sure they'll all meet up. Nicole came home with so many new friends from the last cruise that it's hard to keep track of them! The girls really loved the teen program last time even though they were on the much younger side of it. Our friends are from Merrimack, so NH will be well represented! <smile>

Do you know if any of the teens will be doing any of the teen excursions? We didn't last time, but she is tempted to this time.

I think some of the teens were thinking of the teen catamaran cruise in Cozumel. On our last ruise this past April our kids did not do any teen excursions....they were pretty content to just hang with us old folks!!

We made our airline reservations yesterday! We used our free travel vouchers (We were bumped on a flight earlier this year). I was surprised how far ahead FF or "free" seats are booked! Fortunately, the agent was creative and got us to and from MCO on the dates we wanted. ...Only 9 more months!

We are still deciding whether we will fly or drive down. The main consideration is pulling the kids from school for the extra days required to drive. I would want to take a day or two each way!

We are flying to St. Louis for Thanksgiving and I am hoping we will all be bumped on the return flight. It leaves at 6pm from St. Louis to our connection in Atlanta on the Sunday after Thanksgiving! I was shocked when I found out that Priceline had gotten us tickets leaving then. I keep hoping!

Has anyone thought about the excursions they plan on doing? Personally, I would be pretty happy to spent most of my time on the ship.....although we do have a few excursions in mind.

The jet skiing in Key West sounds like fun as does the Stingray City tour in Grand Cayman. i am not sure my daughters are too excited about the stingrays though.

Has anyone thought about the excursions they plan on doing?

Our thoughts are going towards spending those port hours lounging by the pool on board!! I guess we will HAVE to set foot on each dock at least - to say we were there!! ;)

I think we may try to see the turtle farm and perhaps do a tram or something in Key West. But I think we will wait to make any decisions until we can see what the weather is going to be at each port!

:jester: My Mom called today to let me know that she has sent dresses for the girls to wear for formal night! I had mailed her a pattern for Belle, Cinderella and Snow White dresses! She sounds like she had a ball finding material and sewing them. I can't wait to see them!

Of course, now that she has had a "dry run" she saw improvements she can make "next time!":D She is ready to try again! She's 85 years old! WOW, I hope I have half her energy when I reach 50!!

Beth....I will be looking for you and your girls in their dresses on formal night. The dresses sound adorable as I am sure your girls are. You are so lucky to still have such an active and involved mom. I lost my mom last year when she was only 64yo....so saddens me to know my two girls did not have much time with her.
I would be very content to stay on board the ship in port....just love the quiet time.

What a great idea for formal night! Just last night we bought a "Belle" dress for DD4 (Christmas shopping has begun!). I believe DW also bought the white gloves for her, too!

Excursions: Hmmm. Last year we really didn't do any excursions, except a trip to Magens Bay on our own. Does anyone have any suggestions that would include DD5?

Right now it's so hot in the Northeast that all I can think about is a cool, refreshing "Konk Cooler"!

Sounds like your little "Belle" will be adorable, especially with her gloves! Sometimes wish my DD14 and DD11 were still little and could/would wear those cute little costumes.

Hi Everyone !!

We will also be on the 26/4/03 Magic Cruise. We, includes myself and my Mother, my DD age 18 and my DBM ( Daughter by marriage) age29. My DBM has only been once to Disneyland when she was 6 so this will be her first time at WDW and the Cruise and she is already so excited. We did the last Disney cruise in April this year and we held a DIS meet on the Sunday afternoon and had a great time getting to know people. It was very nice after the meet to be able to wave and talk to people you met, later on during the week.
Hope to meet some of you on board!:D

Pluto's Pup,

Yes...We booked the same cabin as last time - 6600. After the last cruise, we would NEVER book again without the verandah. We all really loved having coffee and early breakfast out there before going to the REAL breakfast.

The one down side to this trip is that we already know the ship, and what goes on. It won't be as new and exciting. At least it will be all new ports, DS 6 will be a year older (and hopefully better behaved and more excited about the kid's club).

We are all looking forward to it! This time though, we are planning on doing Discovery Cove the day before in Orlando so that we can REALLY be in the mood!

I have been thinking a lot about excursions. I would like to snorkel in Key West, snorkel in Grand Cayman, snorkel in Cozumel, and snorkel at Castaway Cay!! Can you tell I love to snorkel??

More specifically, I have been considering renting a car in both Cozumel and Grand Cayman and doing some exploring on our own. Alternatives include a trip to San Gervasio and Chankaab Park from Shoretrips.com in Cozumel and just taking a taxi to Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman.

We have nothing definite yet, but I am always planning, planning, planning.

It will be 3 months from that day so figured it was a good time to start getting the 3 new cruising families more into what actually goes on during the cruise.
We are going to try to figure out our excursions, what to do the day prior to sailing as we are all flying in to MCO a day early. Last year we spent the day at the Magic Kingdom..not sure what to do this year??

Let's go BUCS!!!!

We can't wait until our cruise! We recently slummed and took Norwegian Cruise Lines "Norwegian Sea" from Miami to Key West and Nassau on 1/2. LOVE the freestyle cruising part, but other than that, it was pretty third rate. Tiny cabin, HORRIBLE kid's program, mediocre food, and terrible room service food. The only good thing was that we got to go to Key West, do the train/trolley tour and get a feeling for what to do on our Disney cruise. Weather was terrible (cold and windy) and since there was NO kid's program in port, we were very limited in what we could do with our DS 6.

Up till now I have looking forward to the cruise but not too excited as I was facing some surgery, but ...NOW...that its over, and I am on the mend I can focus my energies on our trip to WDW and our cruise. Hi all !!

I am Wenabre's DD (the 29 year old...no .. 30 can't be just around the corner... please stop the aging process....). I have been reading the DIS board with much excitement, as this will be my first trip to WDW and on a Disney Cruise. I can just hear me now - "Whoo Hoo... look there's Mickey.... hey, how much shrimp can I eat ..... where's the pool.... cool... look at all the chocolate.... fine, the diet starts again when I get back home ... i didn't know you could do that with a towel ..." and then in typical fashion, I'll crash just like a seven year old. :bounce:

in answer to your questions:
1) don't worry about packing too much, your Sister always does!!
2) don't worry about eating too many chocolate desserts, you can get up real early and come swimming with me.
3) yes, you can do that with a towel.....but you can't do that with a towel to your Sister...
4) all discussions about 'clothes sharing' with you Sister will be discussed out on the verandah, with the door shut!!!!!
5) there will be no crashing like a seven year old, I already have you Nana to deal with when it comes to Super Snoozes!!

In Response.....

1. Well apparently now I'll have to pack even more now that my sis will be pilfering by suitcase. I wonder if you can get an electric shocker for a suitcase, set to cattle prod strength.

2. Is the pool set to bath temperature? Cause you know what us girls are like, we completely admit to being cold water wimps, unless of course there are dolphins, manatees or other cool animals and fishes (speaking of which, the snails in my fish tank had babies yesterday).

3. Ahhhh come on, a welt or two won't deter from her cuteness.

4. Are you sure we should be on the veranda, it's pretty high up from the water if the "discussions" get heated. Maybe the bathroom would be safer....

5. Okay, caffeine will be my friend.

Found two need wraps (shawls) at Walmart the other day for $7, one for the day (matches the bikini) and the burgandy one for the evening, matches my long black dress.

Also, saw a really pretty light blue short length dress the other day that I am debating over, but will likely wait till I go to Calgary in March to do any pre-trip shopping.

Hi there,

I got a phone call yesterday about our new and multi-talented table mates. Sounds like it will be alot of fun!! The thought of picking stuff up with toes makes me cringe, I am envisioning toe cramps. Picking up stuff with my toes is not one of my strengths, but I do have lots of crazy toe socks, so i'll bring a few pairs of those to the toe party!

Looking forward to meeting you all, and Kaighley and I don't usually fight (we live so far apart), our "bickering" consists of good natured sarcastic "burns".

I ended up buying the light blue dress that I was admiring up here in the North, and Kaighley will be happy because it's a 5/6 so it will fit her as well.

Might I also add that it was DragonLady who first came up with the towel threat???? But then again, if she has to run for refuge, she won't have time to pack and I will get free reign of her clothes!!!!! :) :bounce: I think I am beginning to like this idea..... And if you do have to run to our cabin for refuge, be sure to bring your suitcase with you so that the "sweet, kind, younger" one won't pillage your wardrobe! If she tries to come after you, I'll protect you with my warrior toes.

As for the suggested chocolate eating contest, I'll be there wearing my elastic waist pants with no belt (which is also the suggested attire for all those big buffets). Bring it on!!!

Hi Everyone....i have been having withdrawals as i have not been able to access the Disboards for over 2 weeks(don't know why). I have alot of reading to catch up on!!

We booked our excursions: Jetskis in Key West; Stingray City in Grand Cayman; Jeep Tour in Cozumel and Banana Boats and parasailing on Castaway Cay.

We just returned from 3 days skiing in Maine and i can't wait for a real vacation in warm weather, not lugging ski boots and skis, crying kid who wants to keep up with the older kids but can't!! oh, that konk kooler sounds really good!

Jillie,
How did you book jet skis in Key West? I did not see that excursion offered.
Thanks

I received info from Shirley NelsonBrown in Key West. She recommended Key Cat's at Mallory Square. I called and spoke with Shelly. Her number is 305-294-4515. They were very nice. It was $95 for one hour with 10% discount for DCL passengers.

Hope this helps. Where in NH are you from? We live in Nashua.

Thanks for the info. I will give her a call. Were there only jet skis or did they have wave runners too? I just reserved for banana boats at Castaway and they're booking fast so call if you want to do them. We live in Derry.

I really wanted to do the jeep tour in Couzemel. However, my group wants to do the dolphins.

My sister is doing the parasailing in the am.

I am booking captain marvins for stingray city. My little girl will be 4 on the cruise so can't go on the disney excursion.

Our group of 24 planned on the Jeep Tour but one girl is only 9 and Disney would not allow her to be part of this excursion so we all are going to Mr. Sanchos Beach instead.

It is so cold here in NH that I really cannot wait to get to some warm weather!!!

you just forgot to include innocent and better looking to make it truly laughable......

Now I notice that the "sweet, kind" one has subliminally threated my life and proclaimed her character in the same sentence..... see below.....

how come DragonLady (note the name) is being offed (oops, freudian slip hee hee) I mean offered refuge whilst I, the sweet, kind younger sibling am being overlooked???

In my own defence, I never came up with the towel threat. My reference to towels was strictly in regards to the towel animals. But since we are on the subject, dipping the tip of the towel in water makes it even more painful!

Angela - thanks for your offer of refuge, support and defense by your now infamous warrior toes. Also, baggey summer dresses work really well for chocolate eating contests.

Not too many more sleeps to go,

I responded about the welts only after Mom alluded to "not doing that with a towel to your sister". My intention was only sheer joy and excitement about the cruise and what I would see. But of course once the topic was raised i couldn't resist.

Practical jokes are never fun when someone gets hurt. Now tipping the room steward to short sheet your bed, that is another story............

Together we decided a Disney Cruise would be awesome. We booked the cruise in 2/02. I found the DIS boards shortly after we booked our cruise last year. I was sooo excited:Pinkbounc I would print out reports and navigators and pictures, etc. My husband would blandly look them over. Eventually he told me that the cruise was just too far off to get that excited about it.

Well, yesterday he asked if I had the navigators so he could start looking them over - oh, and while I was at it, how about a few trip reports. I happily handed them over.

I'm no longer alone in the details planning this trip!! He's started counting down the days! I think I started at 435 or something like that!

Looking forward to meeting all of you on the cruise!

consider yourself added...... we are now up to 71 Adults, 39 youths, 22 DIS identities and 34 groups!!!!!

Jillie - my shopping has been proceeding a bit at a time, got some new quick dry shorts and a few t-shirts on the weekend as well as some cheap sunglasses at Wal-mart (I love being able to buy kids sunglasses). I'll be heading to Calgary Alberta next week for some meetings and I hope to get a much needed bathing suit for the cruise. Hopefully Old Navy has out their spring/summer lines 'cause this will be the last time I get to a big city before the trip. Planning on getting some more cheap pins at the Disney Store as well, they had them on sale for 75% off last month (0.88 and 1.88 CAD per pin). Yay.. Happy Shopping Times!!

Jillie and Dragon Lady, Thanks for the warm welcome. Jillie, to answer your question about excursions. We have not booked anything yet. We planned to do an Eastern due to existing hotel reservations but DH did not like the idea of extra day at sea, wanted to see as much as he could so we managed to change the dates of our hotel and booked the Western. We are just starting the research on excursions for the Western.

I am really excited to be cruising again. Looking forward to doing all the things we missed. Our 3 day in January was too short and too cold. The temps were never very high. Looking forward to some nice, warm weather and being able to swim at Castaway.:smooth:

Hear this???

1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2

That's me exercising my toes in preparation for the talented toes contest! I sit behind a desk all day, which gives me lots of work-out time. Watch out, Wendy!

As for the two sparring sisters:

Being a sister myself (albeit the smarter, more clever one - just kidding, Susan!), I can say you'd better behave yourselves or Susan and I will embarrass you at dinner with our VERY LOUD impressions of the Crocodile Hunter ("Crikey!") and Clair Odoms from Ally McBeal ("I LOVE that"). And for good measure, Susan will do her Shrek-Roger Rabbit dance while I perform the shopping cart and lawn mower dances.

Seriously, I can't wait to meet you guys and all you DISers out there who'll be on this cruise. It's going to be a BLAST!!!

wenabre
03-17-2003, 07:10 PM
An amateur might exercise their toes in the 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 fashion, but an expert always exercises left 1-2-3-4-5, right 1-2-3-4-5, then repeat. After all, you don't want toes 3, 4 and 5 to get atrophied for you are going to need them for the reef knot tying and napkin folding parts of the contest.

What day should we plan for this contest? How is the first night? (while in the Gulf Stream's gentle tsunamic waves, hehehe::)

As for the girls, they have promised to be on their best behaviour, but that in itself can be scary!!!!!
Hope to hear from you soon, and not too loudly.

Hi Fellow 4/26 Magic Cruisers,

Well, we received our travel docs last week and just made reservations for the Radisson on Friday night. We were just going to drive from Tampa on Saturday morning, but decided to come all the way the night before so we can relax in the morning. You cannot beat this $109 per night at the Radisson with free parking for the entire cruise and free shuttle bus back and forth.

Myself (DH 41), DW 35 and DS 6 can't wait until our second Magic cruise (1st was the "Fire" cruise last March 9th). We'll be in the same room we stayed in last year (6600) and we all look forward to meeting everyone from the DIS Board and seeing old friends again (I'm talking about YOU Plutospup!).

They are here! They are here! We are in cabin #6050, late seating.

DH says it feels official now! I'll feel better when we arrive at the Radisson, best when we wake up and see the Magic sitting there, just waiting for us!

Postcards - uh oh - better go back to the store - I only bought 35! I was surprised to find a selection - there are only 1500 people in the village! Do I remember correctly - we are putting on our names, addresses, e-mails, etc.? Thanks Dragonlady for keeping track of the numbers.

DIS meet on Monday, 2pm, near the internet cafe?
How about gathering by the pool at the Radisson on Friday night? Say, around 7pm? I hope we will be there by then!

I'm in the middle of getting a series of nerve block injections and lose use of one hand and arm for 2 days each week! Boy, is the pressure on to get a lot done those other 5 days. I get two weeks off for the cruise. Can't risk feeling crappy then. This trip has been planned for WAAAYYYY too long!

angelaj
03-26-2003, 08:58 AM
We're having a DIS meet on Monday at 2:00 at the Promenade Lounge on deck 3 next to the Internet computers. If you'd like, you can bring postcards from your hometown with your information written on the back so we can all keep in touch.

The Mickey stickers are an idea I saw on another thread. Home Depot carries Disney paint, and their paint chips are in the shape of Mickey heads. Lime green is the "identifying" color of DIS'ers, and there's a paint chip in a color called Alien Green that is actually lime green. I picked up several of them last night. I'm going to write "DIS" on them and attached them to various things so people can identify me as a DIS'er. Lime green ribbon is the other way we identify each other. Tie a ribbon in your hair, around the strap of your purse or backpack, or whatever!

Can anyone tell me for sure what information I should include on the postcard? I'm thinking: Name, address, DIS name, e-mail address, cabin number, and the names of the other people in my cabin. Anything else???

Dragon Lady
03-26-2003, 09:09 AM
I'm planning to put the same info on mine. But with the huge number, I'm going to use mailing labels and just type the info on the computer and print it off. I will still use funky fonts and colours, just going to save some time and strain on my writing hand.

Talk to you soon,
Danielle

Angelaj....I don't have my cruise docs yet either:confused: . hoping to get them this weekend. Going shopping Saturday with DD14 and one other cruise mom and her DD.....should be fun and really get us excited for this cruise!!

Has anyone decided to do Palo for dinner? We liked it so much last year we want to eat there twice this year!!!:bounce:

:D From what I have seen, I think I would like to do Palo for brunch. It sure looks and sounds yummy. I think it would be great to be up there when the sun is up!

Anyone else interested in doing that? We still haven't decided on whether we want to do Palo for dinner.

We too are going on this cruise with our son who will be turning 4 years old on that Monday.

My son's preschool class mascot is the Dolphin so we had hopes of trying the Swim with Dolphins excursions but you need to be at least 8 years old. We also thought about the Dolphin Encounter but it doesn't appear they do anything on Wednesdays which is when we'll be in Cozumel.

Alternatively, we had considered the Submarine trip with Shoretrips.com but minimum age is 5 :(

Can anyone highly recommend a fun excursion for a 4 year old?

Thanks - we'd appreciate anything we may want to consider in advance so that we can book early!

noris...just checked Cozumel excursions,& Dolphin Discovery Cozumel(3-3.5 hours) under childs price says ages 3-9.This leads me to believe ages as low as 3 are permitted.I would also think with adult supervising/holding child;leniency will be given. I still haven't received ours cruise doc's.grrrrrrr...I think I'm becoming my travel agents worst nightmare. One phone call a day whether she likes it or not;but still keeping upbeat.I just keep thinking about the end result-the big picture-the light at the end the tunnel.Heh,how about a little help here?!?!?

Four whole weeks - I don't know if I can make it.

Hi,

Is everyone starting to pack or plan , are the lists hung on the fridge with care, are the stick up notes all over the house reminding you what you need to use now but also take with you, is your purse full of bits or paper with last minute ideas?.......Ok then you are still in stages 1&2 of the pre cruise state. In case you are wondering stage one is all the above and stage two is with added anxiety attacks:eek: !!

Katdb and I are in Stage 2, but with the help of zantac, we are doing OK so far. Before we can even pull out the suitcases and start actually putting things in them, we will be having house guests for a week. We have two teenage girls on exchange from New Brunswick on a Senior Band Trip and its going to be interesting with three girls in one bathroom in the a.m. , but no one uses mine!! Should be a fun week, if not long.

To PlutoJudy : As Kaighley will be attending University this autumn, I am not sure what our plans will be for next year. We will be going to WDW this summer for the first two weeks in August before she leaves for U of G. My Mom and I are contemplating a Princess cruise in Jan as a friend is trying to organize a group and get a really good price, but nothing definite yet. When are you thinking of going again?

To Dragon Lady: I definitly think your P----'s plan is definitly a start in the right direction re the 'buttering up' situation, but another good idea is the printing of stickers for other family members whose computer is acting up( just a thought)!

To AngelaJ: So you think you can do it with one foot tied behind your back, well bring it on, oh and by the way, ...you First!!
Tell me what are some of your ideas, if you will?!? You aren't by any chance using this " Docs haven't arrived " has a way to get out of this contest are you?? Because if you wish to admit "de-feet" now, I'll understand and let you off..;) ;) , nudge nudge!!

Well its back to scrubbing the Bar-b-que in between snow flurries. I am determinded that I will either bar-b-que tonight or we eat the meat raw.

In two more days we can say "we are cruising this month"

I started to make my piles of stuff to bring. It includes two pillowcases for one of my colleagues two little girls. It was pretty cool to see a forty+ guy get sooo excited about getting disney characters to sign pillowcases for his girls, we had to run out and get colour coordinating cases as soon as I mentioned it!

Wenabre - labels are not a problem. Just e-mail me with Nana's address as well, and I'll take care of it. I was thinking of putting Disney Characters on them so I need Nana's favorite character.

Now have you been on the phone with your TA and double checked with them lately?? After all we do have dinner plans, don't we? Poor Dragon Lady !! Wenabre - If I don't get my documents soon, I WILL have to admit "de-feet"! Disney can try sending me the bill for your pin, but if they can't get my documents to me, hopefully they can't get a bill to me! I double checked with my TA to make sure my new address is on record, and it is. All three of us are supposed to have our documents delivered to my address, so Susan and Robert are waiting right along with me! In the wishful thinking department - we're hoping our documents are so late because they're going to upgrade us. Dream on, right???!!!

Poor Dragon Lady. All that snow! Well, that'll make her appreciate the cruise that much more, right? We're in the high 70's here in Atlanta. It feels wonderful, but the pollen is about to kill us all! My car has gone from white to yellow. Yuck!

As for sneaking me onboard in your suitcase, you're gonna need a steamer trunk if I'm gonna fit! Do you have one of those? :)

Oh AngelaJ, don't worry I checked with Disney re the pin and they assured me that they can always find you for the bill:rolleyes:

Haven't been on these boards in a few days, so I'm trying to respond to everyone now.

Wenabre, I'm so disappointed I missed your phone calls. Last weekend was super-busy. I closed on my new house Friday, went shopping ALL DAY with my mom Saturday, and spent most of the rest of the time at my new house coming up with decorating ideas. A new house and a cruise all in one month - I'm about to faint from the excitement! Hope my dad didn't sound too crazy the first time you called. He heard "Wendy from Ottawa" and "did she get her documents yet" and thought you were a mortgage or insurance person calling about my house!!! How funny! Anyway, I set him straight, so he knew who you were the 2nd time you called. I still haven't received my documents. Do you have 3 steamer trunks so you can smuggle Susan and Robert on the ship along with me? If you can get me on the ship, I'll concede the toe contest to you and buy you TWO pins!

Jillie, I'm glad Wenabre, Dragon Lady, and I are keeping you so entertained with our posts. We all have yet to meet each other in person, but we've linked our ressies so we can be tablemates at dinner and I feel like I've already made great friends. I can't wait to meet you at the meet on the 28th and all the other DIS'ers who'll be there. Aren't these boards the best?

Well, I'll see if my documents come today. When they do, you'll all be getting a huge, loud announcement from me with trumpets blaring!

Angela,

Congrats on the new home! You'll have to bring some pictures of it for us to see. We are bringing down some small albums with pictures of where we live, the countryside, our pets, etc. I always get so many questions about northern Canada, and pictures are so much better than words (believe me you will be suprised at what you see). I have only been through Atlanta on my way to N Carolina, but your airport seemed nice!

I managed to get 3 tanning sessions in this weekend, and have started to get a good base. Unfortunately I am so pale to begin with, that today one of my co-workers asked we when I am going to start tanning (I have already gone 6 or 7 times!!!!! sheeesh).

Take Care and talk to you soon!!!

Cannot believe it, this will be such an awesome once-in-a-lifetime thing! We were booked into a cat. 2 with our friends in the other and the travel agent called our friends to let them know they had it become avail and our friends called my hubby (away in TX on the business-trip-from-he**)and offered to flip a coin for it, long story short they flipped and told my hubby we got it!

What a Disney dream day! lol

Hi everyone!! I can't believe we leave 2 weeks from Friday!! I am so excited I can't stand it! My DH (Robert) and I will be sharing a room with my sister, who is angelaj here on the DIS. We're really looking forward to meeting everyone at the DIS meet on Monday. The internet truly is an amazing thing, to be able to bring people together so we feel as if we've already made new friends before we even set foot on the ship. :) It'll be fun to finally put names with faces.

To Wendy, Danielle and Kaighley.. my DH and I do NOT have talented toes, so we'll be unable to participate in the toe contests(we'd probably suffer from foot cramps or some other unfortunate malady), but would be happy to challenge anyone to a chocolate-eating contest...? Tee hee!! I'm just a wee bit of a chocoholic.

We're really looking forward to meeting everyone!! I can't believe it's almost here! :)

Trumpets, please: My documents have arrived! Wenabre, put the steamer trunks away - we won't be needing them after all now that we're "legal"!

Dragon Lady - thanks for the congrats on the house. I'm so excited, although I don't get to move in until June 7 because one of the former homeowners is a teacher and they can't move until school's out. But they're out of town this week for spring break, so I can take lots of pictures! I'll be sure to bring some. Funny story you had about your tanning. Susan and I are really pale too. No amount of tanning is going to change that for us. I just use the tanning creams.

Coz Minigolf Sally - I've been reading the thread with your answers to everyone's questions. Thanks for being so helpful! We're going to Mr. Sancho's for a while, but I'm really hoping we have time for a round of minigolf. It would be so much fun!

Penny - I'm so excited for you! I can't belive you got the Walt Suite! What a dream come true! I think we should move the DIS meet on Monday to your room - ha ha! We'll be down the hall from you in 8042 - look for the lime green ribbon and Mickey paint chip on our door. Feel free to stop by and introduce yourselves. And that goes for all you DIS friends-to-be out there. Don't be shy about dropping by to see us!

Hi everybody:wave:

Sorry to be so long in writing back but with a dog on bed rest with 26 staples down his back, two extra teenagers in the house ( band exchange ) and the little things like work and taxes, I have been a little busy...to say the least. Now what I really need is a genie to come and do my packing, organizing and oh yes an extra brave one to get Mom up at 4:30am on the day of the flight!!
Pluto judy, thanks for the pm, I am glad you are booked again will you be doing a cruise report from this trip?
Beschultz, thanks for the email. Dragon Lady is a very organized and neat person, ( but you should have seen her as a teenager! )
At the moment I am thinking very highly of my youngest DD whose room looks like a palace compared to my quest room which is now been occupied by 2 other girl teenagers, but its all part of life, I quess. But heed me now DL and KatDB, the cabin will be holding 4 women so think NEAT!! maybe it will rub off on Nana:rolleyes:
Angelaj, I am glad you finally got your docs, as I only have one old steamer trunk and its not on wheels so its not coming. My offer of 'the sneak you on' was via a line over the side!:p :)
While I have been sitting and watching the dog, I have been practicing with the toes, when and where are we going to have this contest? Also you haven't sent me your list, we don't want to copy each other, now do we?
PennyNH, DD says thanks re the piano, I would love to take a photo of her sitting at it. One of the two music teachers / conductors at her school is also Disney nuts and has done the cruise once ( inside cabin) so he would get such a kick to see Kaighley at the piano in the WD suite. Looking forward to meeting you on the ship!!

her butt right now.

I am very glad to have 5 days off prior to our vacation. Lots of time to rest, get my gardens in order, pack, tan, clean house, etc, etc.

Hmmmmm, what message could my evil sister have for me, a thinly veiled threat perchance? Tee Hee.

Picked up an underwater camera yesterday at Walmart, only $12.

Talk to you all later,
DL

Hello fellow cruiser short timers. Sounds like everybody's gearing up & finishing last minute details & home chores;including myself. With all my lists & reminders, why do I always feel like I'm forgetting something?! Part of my group leaves tomorrow(4/17) for WDW before the cruise & I wish I was going with him. I'm not getting there till wed(4/23) & will do EPCOT thurs. Looks like several DIS'ers are doing the parks before the cruise;can never get enough,I'm sure!! Picked up some lime green Mickeys at Home Depot & then realized I needed to also get double-sided tape,Now I'm set.I'll be looking for lime green ribbons or Mickeys at the port check-in & on board. Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, it's on the cruise we go.

A while back Dragon Lady mentioned that she is "bringing down some small albums with pictures of where we live, the countryside, our pets, etc."

I would like to suggest that everyone bring a few pictures from home (as well as their postcards.) Once we start talking to each other (and maybe even to OTHER, non DIS cruisemates?) we may find that, as they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words"

We are now up to 164 cruisers, 102 adults, 62 youth, 30 DIS identities and 36 (& 11 "traveling with") families! Is the Promenade Lounge big enough? :teeth:

Any of you who haven't e-mailed me yet with regards to the list I am doing, it's not too late! I'll bring along plenty of copies for one and all!

Hi Everyone....
I quess if I was to say I would like the next three days to actually become four days as I am a little behind schedule on my packing, organizing the animals, getting me ready and did I mention packing?.....that you would all be a little annoyed with me:confused:
I'm sorry but I just can't seem to get my act together this year, its this working for a living thats making a mess of my social and fun times!
Oh by the way DL, your Sister is getting over a cold and everytime she blows her nose, geese land on the roof!! The poor dog is trying to get over his surgery and he is hiding in the closet from the noise and the cat is quite happy to remain outdoors!!

Beth, we may have to move this meet somewhere midship as we may cause quite a list if we all end up on one side.

Must go now, must iron something, must fold something must find a suitcase to put it in...oh to heck with it...I'm going for a nap:rolleyes:

See you all soon....

Greetings all,

I just thought I'd check in and wish everyone a Happy Easter. I can't believe that it's only one week away! I just received a new DCL video yesterday and I think I've watched it a dozen times :)

It's in the mid 80's today and gorgeous in central Florida. Would you believe that I haven't started packing yet at all? Luckily I am taking next Friday off and DW and I will be spending the morning packing and taking our dogs to various friends and family for the week. We'll be driving to Port Canaveral by 1:00 p.m. and stopping in Orlando to spend an hour or two with my brother before we continue to the Radisson.

All of us are looking forward to meeting all of you and seeing old friends again. I really think that we need to pick a new place to meet on the ship though. It sounds like we've got quite a large group.

Anyone up for a little get together at the Radisson on Friday night?

We'll see you all soon and let's get ready to party!

Hi everyone and Happy Easter! Can you believe this is the week? I've been packing this weekend. Do you think DCL will allow me to bring 27 suitcases? Hee hee!

Dragon Lady - you're lucky you have some time off beforehand. I'm working through Thursday, so I'm trying to get as much done as I can this weekend. So much to do! I've started tanning today (tanning cream) so I won't be dreadfully white. I don't want to scare everyone off the ship!

Wenabre - I sent you an e-mail the other day. Did you get it? I haven't heard from you. You're probably super busy like the rest of us. It's funny how time sneaks up on you. It seems like we had so much time, and now we're all going crazy trying to get everything done. I've decided not to do Epcot Friday, but thanks for the offer to meet up. That would've been fun! I may go to Downtown Disney for a while before I have to pick Susan and Robert up at the airport, but I'm not even sure about that. I'm just going to play everything by ear this week.

Well, we'll see everyone either at the Radisson, the port, or the ship. We'll have our lime green Mickey heads on. And anyone who walks by our cabin (#8042) will have no doubt we're DISers when they see our door decorations! See you all next week!!!!

My Toes laugh at your toes....
My Toes Scoff at your toes.....
My Toes have no fear of your wanton woman red painted toes.....

I scoff at your claims of no fear. I know you're trembling deep down inside! Bwahahahahahaha!

I spent some time yesterday coming up with ideas for the contest. Be prepared: I only came up with four, but they are doozies! Most of there are two-parters: You must pick the item up, then do something with it. I won't give you any more details until contest time.

One question: Are we performing our own stunts plus the other person's? Or just the other person's? In other words, will I be doing the ideas I came up with along with your ideas? I need to know how much to practice!!!!

Have a great time at WDW this week. I know you all will have so much fun!!! Ride Rock n Roller Coaster 20 times in a row for me!

Well having been working 7 day weeks since Valentines. I and wife (36) just booked on the 4/26 cruise. Yippee

Being normal fans from the world, this is the best way we can get Disney and not not get paged or called etc.

It is so nice to see so many other Motivated Disney people on here.

I'm down to my last 2 1/2 hours at work! I'm leaving at 3:00 to drive to Valdosta where I'll stay the night, then drive to Orlando tomorrow where I'll spend a few hours at Downtown Disney for a few hours tomorrow before I pick up the rest of the crew at the airport. My bags are packed (and packed, and packed - I brought too much stuff!) and in my trunk.

See you all soon. Woo hoo!!!!!
