Had a nice stay at the Poly Conceirge over the 4th of July holiday. I was very upset over the absolutley huge number of people let into the resort to view the fireworks. There were thousandts of people at the Poly to see the fireworks, far, far more than ever allowed in the past.
What bothered me was that I paid to use the amenities that the Poly offered. I was the guest there, I was the one who paid more for a deluxe resort for the amenities it offers. On the night of the fireworks, I arrived very early, only to have the last few chairs by the pool taken away by people staying at the Coronado Springs. That really upset me. That I paid the extra to stay at the Poly, and then paid more to stay in conceirge, yet at 5pm could not even get a chair for my 75 year old father to sit and view the fireworks. Plus the sheer number at the Poly was so out of control, I feel it was a real safety issue and threat. All it would have taken was one nut to yell bomb and you would have had mass confusion. It was dangerous in my estaimation. Anyone else there that night who stayed at the Poly agree with me. Maybe I am over reacting.
On a lighter note, I want to say who happy I was to meet some of the DIS people at the Poly. A few of us had our green ribbons on, a few saw mine and said hi. And I did get to meet the ever-famous Tikiman and his wife. So nice to see all of you, and I hope you had a safe trip home.
