We are going March 9th to 19th. Looking forward to it. Have never been in March! Jan and Feb, but first time for March! We are flying from Flint Michigan, and staying at Cypress Pointe.
This is a trip that we aren't doing Disney, so sad! But my father, who was to come with us last year, my dad was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer a month before we went. So he decided not to come, he has been through hell and back. Had surgery in march, was in the hospital for 6 weeks. Went into full cardiac arrest 4 hours after surgery, my sister (a nurse) was there, and saved him, then got a blood infection, and heart failure, and his colostomy sight backed up into his belly made him septic! It was horrible, but low and behold, my Dad is still here with us, and has fought his way back out. He came home 4 days before his 76th birthday, has passed his cardiac re-hab, his regular re-hab, and is walking for 45 mins everyday. He has cut his own grass, fished alot this summer and went camping even. I have neve seen anyone with such a will to live! Thank God. So, god-willing he is still doing as well as he is he is joining us in March.
We had to wait til March, because he has to be 1 year without being hospitalized and anymore heart problems before he could get insurance. So fingers crossed!

We are cruising with Carnival this break. Celebrating my sister's 50th. Maybe the next summer we will do Disney.
How much is your flight out of Flint? We are still looking for a good deal on a flight!

We actually fly out of Flint on Tues March 9th, and we paid $69 each, but we are flying into Tampa. On the way home we are flying from MCO to Flint for $85 and they are both non-stop!

Bonnet Creek is wonderful. We stayed there last Feb and loved it!! Would have went back again this year, but I got such an awesome price at Cypress Pointe, I had to take it! It was only $65/night for a 2 bdrm! Bonnet Creek would have cost me more, because I would have been booking earlier, then the 60 days out! So, maybe next time!

March 5-14th, Disney Princess 1/2 marathon, POR (never stayed there and excited!) and then a 3 night Disney Cruise!
We got Kids Sail Free (with one of the limited porthole rooms) and buy 4/3 (used 2) deals! Also used some miles and found airfare sale to fly United from Montreal to MCO!
:wizard:
It is helping to know that the trip is coming up since we had the heat kick on last night!

Hey.... we have done 2 grand gatherings...although small ones. We had only 12 people.
I have a few thoughts on the whole grand gathering thing. With regards to making dinner reservations there are quite a few places that actually don't seat more than 5 people at a table and therefore you might as well be booking 4 individual tables of 4 perhaps, or 2 tables of 5.....it depends. The issue with the automatic gratuity for groups of 6+ irritated me and not because I don't tip but because at 2 of our reservations, one of which was crystal palace. At crystal palace the tables only seated 5 max. so we sat apart anyhow, and then our waiter was terrible, we didn't even get drinks to our table until dessert. I honestly believe because he was automatically getting his tip (which worked out to like 75.00) he couldn't have been bothered by us. This happened at a few places. I would never not leave a tip unless there was a real scene or something but seriously if you cannot even seat the party together what is the whole automatic tip for.
Also, at coral reef we couldn't be seated together.
anyhow......just my thoughts on the whole dinner reservations for grand gatherings.!
We will be there the exact dates as you guys, so we may pass by you some days! enjoy!

Hi there.... we are still toying with when to travel for 2010. We've never travelled when there is a promotion on. Is the 4+3 worth it? IF we travel during Toronto's march break thinking Mar 14th -21st. If we go during this time it will be our first during school breaks and want to know what kind of crowds we're in for. Thanks

I have found march break is really great. We went at last year Dec. 18-29 and it was NUTS!...I won't go then again. We have been at march break and it's great, not long lineups and the weather is perfect. Most american schools take a sprink break that co-ordinates with easter. I think there are some in march obviously but it's not like christmas or easter.
I would say go go go.

We travelled during the 4/3 promo last year for march break and it was not bad, some lineups can still get pretty long but manageable and the weather was much more pleasant than in the middle of summer when we usually go. GTA march breaks falls on the week of the 13th in 2010. As far as deals go, I think it works out to be a bigger savings with the deluxe category rooms. For us, we were able to stay at the contemporary tower for our week as opposed to the garden wing or a moderate room. It was better last year because they gave us the extra $200 gift card also. If you usually stay at value or moderate resorts, the free dining promos may be better.:)

There is no free dining choice for 2010 out though. I think right now it's just the 4/3 deal or 5/2 deal for up to the end of march.

Yeah, I know..we've been spoiled the last few years with the end of summer/fall free dining thing. That's what is making the decision to go this March tougher? We felt March was too cold for the water activities, especially the earlier in March that you go, but the weather is much better for walking around than in August and the crowds were better (that is when we go on a school holiday time)...so do we go in March or wait and hope there is some promo for later in the summer.:confused3

March is great for waterparks. We went twice in January and both times we swam every day it was lovely and although cool at night we wore hoodies.
When we went in March 08 it was in the 80's everyday and we never wore jackets. We even went to cocoa beach one day and it was sooo hot.
I would hate going in September with the humidity and rain, neither of those you will have to endure much of in march.
Come on and come with the rest of us in March....the more the merrier.:rotfl:

:cool1::love: Congratulate US!!!!! We just finalized our papers for Bonnet Creek!!!! We now own a little piece of heaven! :goodvibes:dance3: Sorry haven't been on lately, my courses at night have started up. Anyway, Bonnet Creek is AMAZING!!!! I definetly recommend it! There are two lazy rivers, 3 pools, outdoor hot tubs, beautiful grounds and the rooms are gorgeous! My DH and I just feel in love with it after staying there last year. :lovestruc The best place for pics is Trip Advisor. March Break last year was almost too hot for us- but... we're on our way again! Now... where do I get the lime green ears???
