Bruschetta is one of those things that I never want to order in a restaurant because I know it's technically something I could make on my own. But then I never actually do make it on my own and then I regret not ordering it!

Haha, if Liz and Laura keep getting their pic by the Kermit with the crowns on, I wonder if someone will see and go, "Oh wait, it's just those girls with the crowns. They do it every time they're here."

I STILL have not made my way to the Main Street Bakery. Every time I see people's pics, there's something new I want to try. I was supposed to get the apple strudel this past trip, but I wasn't hungry when we were leaving. Now I see that they have crumb cake and some chocolate yumminess. Mmmm ...

Excellent update!

Did you know that Mama Melrose was originally supposed to be a Muppets themed restaurant? Lou Mongello did a whole podcast on it...

Great luck with TSM and catching Spectro. I've done that dash through the Emporium to get to Frontierland and it is NOT fun!

Another fab update! I also love the strawberry "smoothies" from Main Street Bakery! A great way to sip your way out of the park at the end of a great day.

Well, I'm not sure if I'll be reading your 9/4 updates before my next trip because I leave on 9/18. I've never tweeted before but if you give any live updates on the DIS boards, I'll be sure to partake!

What fortuitous timing as I was checking my subscriptions! I'm always happy for an Uncle Orville/VBsHustla update.

Also: I HEART this pic. Well done.

Thanks! I took that pic so long ago that I was also admiring it last night, too! I even pointed it out to my dad to congratulate myself as I was posting it, and he claimed that he must have taken it. :lmao:

I always intend to try lots of things from the Main Street Bakery too, but it's so rarely convenient to stop in! In the morning on the way in, you've got to run into the park, and then usually on the way out of the MK, I'm full from other snacks I've picked up inside of the park. I wish it were back in Fantasyland or something so it'd be easier to stop for something mid-day!

I did not know Mama Melrose was supposed to by Muppet themed! That would have been so cool! :thumbsup2 And, gotta love that run through the Emporium to get to a parade! We've even been successful doing it to see Spectro twice in it's entirety - from the very beginning by the firehouse to the very end by Pecos Bill's! :thumbsup2

Aren't those smoothies delicious? :goodvibes Your trip is coming up soon too! :woohoo: I've heard the Beach Club has free Wifi in some spots, so if we have a laptop with us, we'll definitely try to check in here. And if you're so inclined, you can get to our tweets directly by going to www.twitter.com/VBsHustla - you don't need to have a Twitter account to see the tweets.

Great Mama Melrose review. We are eating there for the first time because of the Fantasmic package.

ALSO never interested in the Main Street Bakery ice cream sandwich until now!! I want to go to there.

Mama Melrose seems to get a bad rap, but we've always found the food to be good - I hope you'll like it, too! The Main Street Bakery ice cream sandwich is awesome! It's very messy, but it's a price I'm willing to pay. :thumbsup2

Thats cool that DHS stayed open later due to the buses not running. Not cool that you had to deal with annoying people running all over the place when you were going back to MK.

Love the Main Street Bakery pics, that cookie ice cream sandwich looks yummy :teeth:

It was awesome that MGM stayed open later - it would have been such a nightmare to force everyone out and then have us all waiting for buses that weren't coming. :scared1: And it was even better that we were alerted before the rest of the park crowd so we could get on TSM! :thumbsup2

That ice cream sandwich is awesome! Even the cookies by themselves are great!

An update!

This morning, we left the Poly bright and early only to miss the MK’s opening show by one minute. Boo! However, it turned out that we had arrived early enough to catch a relatively empty Main Street and a rather empty Fantasyland. Of course I couldn’t resist snapping a few pics on our way back.

Our first stop was Peter, which was brilliant, as always. Next, we decided that we most wanted to ride Splash Mountain, so we made our way to the Frontier.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2211.jpg

We had an entire log all to ourselves, and of course insisted on sitting all in the same row. :crowded: We picked the third, as we have found it to be the least likely row to result in a major soaking. However, please note that when there is no one to block you and you sit on a seat that no one has sat on yet that day, you get soaked even in the third row of a Splash log. Who would have thought? :confused3 With that public service announcement out of the way, please enjoy these pics of the interior of Splash that I was able to take as a result of our not sharing a log with any other parties.

We’ve arrived (not via monorail)!

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2285.jpg

For our lunch, we were told to be at the lobby of the Brown Derby at 11:30 am. I had booked our lunch about 20 days before our trip, but I learned that we could have booked 90 days out (which was the standard for all ADRs at that time). I’m not sure if booking/ details have changed since our lunch, but when I booked, the CM on the phone had no idea what I was asking for, and I kept having to explain why what he was searching for was wrong. Eventually, one of the five or so colleagues he had asked knew what to do, and we were able to get a lunch on the exact day I wanted. I believe it cost around $60 per person for lunch, which I thought wasn’t too bad considering it was a four-course lunch and the cost of the food itself at the Brown Derby is quite a lot.

Anyway, back to that day – we checked in at the desk of the Brown Derby at 11:30 am, and were given these cool nametags. :cool2:

There were several others milling about in the lobby area, but many of them were just waiting for the restaurant to open and their ADR time to come up. After a few minutes, a hostess/ waitress/ guide? came out and asked for those there for the Imagineering lunch to join her in one corner of the lobby. She gave us a brief history of the real Brown Derby restaurant and the one that we were in, and showed us lots of pictures on the walls. I thought it was really strange, as it had nothing to do with Imagineering and it was not very interesting. Also, it took quite a while. Anyway, we finally made it back to a private room that was very nice. It was small – just big enough to hold a 10-person table and a couple of other little serving tables in the back. First, let me show you the food.

We were all given a bowl of corn chowder to start. I’d never eaten corn chowder before because it just sounds disgusting, but this was delicious. Best part of the meal for me.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2290.jpg

Next came the Brown Derby cobb salad. I generally really like cobb salads, but I found this one to be disgusting. Maybe it was the chives, which I don’t like.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2291.jpg

For the main course, I got the fish that was offered – there were three main courses to choose from for the Imagineering lunch.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2294.jpg

Liz got the steak.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2292.jpg

Laura could not eat any of the items offered to us – the vegetarian option had tofu in it, and she’s allergic to soy. I had emailed several times with Imagineering lunch coordinators and the Brown Derby chefs to relay Laura’s allergies and what she could or could not eat, and had even discussed a few things from the regular menu that they said they could substitute for Laura. But guess what? On the day of our lunch, no one had any knowledge of this, and I asked the waiter and he went back to the kitchen to check, then brought out a chef. Not a huge deal because the chef that came out discussed things with Laura, but it was just sloppy and a waste of my time to try to prepare them in advance and then have to go through it all again. :headache: Anyway, Laura ended up with a grilled cheese because they were not willing to do much else. Thank goodness she wasn’t vegan at that time – I don’t know if the Brown Derby would have been willing to provide anything that would work for her.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2293.jpg

For dessert, Laura was given cute little cut up fruit and sorbet.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2296.jpg

Liz got crème brulee.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2297.jpg

I got the famous grapefruit cake. It was disgusting (hmm, how many times can I use this word in one review?). Cake was gross, icing was gross. Oh well. As you will see from later in our day, I certainly did not need to eat dessert and it was good that the cake didn’t tempt me to take more than one bite.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2299.jpg

Here’s the menu with descriptions:

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2302.jpg

Each Imagineering lunch has room for 8 people (plus the Imagineer). Our lunch included the three of us, someone who had attended almost 30 imagineering lunches (!!), and several other really hardcore Disney enthusiasts. When we went around the table to introduce ourselves, everyone only told about how many Disney trips they’d taken, how long they’ve been DVC members, how they enjoy D23, etc – not what they do in the real world. These intros would be just the beginning of us feeling like we were totally normal, regular people, and not the insane Disney fans that we know ourselves to be! In our everyday lives, we are the Disney freaks – during this lunch, we were the total amateurs with seemingly no knowledge of anything! It was a really weird experience.

This led the conversation to focus on obscure things that we had basically no knowledge of. Our Imagineer was the head of Imagineering for MGM, but we did not learn much about what his actual job is. He basically gave a brief overview at the beginning of the lunch of his background and a couple of general details on what he does, but that was it. At one point, there was a discussion that lasted probably 20 minutes (but it felt like 120) on some apparently incredible details on a Pluto statue that had been carved by some current Disney artist I’ve never heard of – and the statue was residing in some backstage area somewhere. How several of these people had seen it or knew who this artist was, I had no idea. At one point we asked the Imagineer about the Hannah Montana chicken coop in the Backlot Tour queue, so we got to hear about how one of his colleagues went about getting it and setting it up. Our lunch was supposed to end at 1:00 pm. We got out of there at 2:30 pm. I was bored. Laura and Liz were dying because Oliver Oken (from Hannah Montana) was doing a CD signing in MGM that day from 1 – 2 pm. He had a new CD out that week, and we’d seen a sign in MGM the day before announcing the signing, so we thought it would be perfect to go over right after our lunch ended. Since it would have been really absurd and rude to leave in the middle of the lunch, there was really nothing we could do. All of the courses had not been brought out, and we weren’t brought checks to pay until the end of the meal, so it wasn’t like we could just walk out. When the meal finally came to a close, we were brought plates commemorating the lunch, and the Imagineer signed each person’s plate.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2306.jpg

We paid, the plates were done, and then everyone else stood up to get pictures with the Imagineer. We were beyond ready to bounce at this point, so we said thanks and zoomed out of there.

It was pretty much a huge waste of time, but this description is making it sound worse than it was – the discussions and the whole situation were so hilarious that at least they were entertaining. However, I would not book such a lunch again. I think it would be awesome to go if you could book the whole lunch with a party of 8 friends, but not knowing the others who are attending, you really can’t predict how relevant/ interesting the interaction with the Imagineer will be.

Up next: will we somehow be able to meet Oliver Oken, thus salvaging this afternoon??

Wow, you really did get soaked on Splash! Sounds like a fun morning in the MK! BTW, I don't love that Alice! The Alice in WS is always really good!

Too bad you didn't really love your lunch with the Imagineer. We did it once and had Cathy Carver. She was so awesome! She was an interior designer and it turns out, she designed the actual room we were having lunch in at the Brown Derby! She also was the head designer of the (at the time - new) Cinderella Castle Suite, among MANY other things, and we even saw her on a TV special about the Suite after our lunch.

I've always wanted to do it again but I don't think we'll ever be able to top her as our Imagineer...unless we got, like Joe Rhode! We actually asked her about him, she said they are friends but he's mostly out in California and he does occasionally do the lunches out there.

Thrilled to see an update and a long one at that!

Love the pic of Castle Couture with no one around. It just shows how quaint Fantasyland can be without screaming kids around!

Love the "hither thither yon" signs in Splash! I don't think I've ever seen it myself before or paid much attention. Now when I do see it, I'll think of you guys!

GREATEST SM photo ever! I love that you STILL squished into one row! It wouldn't be right if you didn't!

Mmm, I love corn chowder, and that one just looks scrumptious! It'd probably be my favorite part of the meal too. I had the cobb salad this past trip, and I couldn't eat that much of it. Don't know if that's what made me sick or what, but I just did NOT feel well when I ate about 5 bites. And like you, I normally LOVE cobb salad!

I would like for them to give me one bite of the grapefruit cake just so I know what it's all about. I would NEVER order it on my own because it just does not entice me. But I'm rather curious, especially since you said ti was disgusting! haha, that probably makes me weird, but I want to know why people love it so much.

When I read the description of the lunch, I was wondering if the others at lunch with you thought anything of the fact that you asked about the Hannah Montana chicken coop! I mean, if they were all obsessed about this statue that was hidden away and all~ but I think you're right. It'd probably be a lot of fun if you had a group of 8 friends! I'm sure the meal would've been fun if it were 8 DISers!

The other lunch guests thought we were so weird for asking about the chicken coop and liking Hannah Montana, but since they were 50000000 times weirder, we did not mind in the least! We were totally expecting the lunch to be filled with DISers we knew/ had seen on the boards, but these people were way beyond DISers!

I feel like I always see bad reviews of the Brown Derby, too! Once in a while I hear someone say it's their favorite restaurant, which always surprises me. I agree, can't figure out how it continues to be 2 TS credits/ so expensive.

Have you visited the Hannah Montana chicken coop yet? If not, I hope they have it's still there for you to check out!

Lunch or dinner, still cool that it's offered somewhere in addition to the Brown Derby! :thumbsup2 But, $99 for dinner is quite a bit more than the $60 or so that we paid for lunch!

After we ran out of the Brown Derby, we ran to the Sounds Dangerous soundstage, where Oliver Oken’s CD signing had taken place. We were hoping it would still be going on, but it was not. :sad2: We then got ourselves out of MGM and over to Epcot. We went via bus, which is quicker than the Friendships, and also deposited us in the front of the park, where we wanted to go. I have in my notes that the bus was HOT, but I don’t remember – must have had non-functioning air conditioning or something.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2310.jpg

Our first (and second) stop was Figment. It was so nice that we had to ride twice. :thumbsup2 And also we had an ADR at Le Cellier to get to, and did not have enough time to walk to and ride another attraction after our first spin on Figment.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2314.jpg

The only time we could get a Le Cellier ADR was 4 pm on this day, and we couldn’t find any openings any other day after we booked the Imagineering lunch. So we had a dinner booked at 4 pm and left our four-course lunch at 2:30 pm. Yes. ::yes::

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2321.jpg

Anyway, we were still stuffed when we got into Le Cellier, but luckily we took our time with ordering and our server brought out everything at a nice, slow pace, so it was about 5 pm when we got our main courses. Still absurd, but not quite so bad. But, yes, really ridiculous. :upsidedow

Some mango smoothie drink, that counted as a drink option on the DDP.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2325.jpg

Bread – yeah, pretzel bread! :thumbsup2

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2329.jpg

I got the mushroom filet, of course, and it was brilliant as always.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2334.jpg

Laura and Liz both got a prix fixe option from the menu, that allowed them to get a salad, entrée, and dessert for one DDP credit.

They got salads with pears on them first, and both fell in love with the pears (which we thought were apples, until we were later told they were pears).

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2333.jpg

Then they both got the gnocci, but Laura’s came with a tomato sauce since her nut allergies prevented her from being allowed to eat the pesto that normally comes on it.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2336.jpg

Le Cellier servers and chefs have always been amazing to us in helping with food substitutions and creations for our dietary needs. And I must say as I usually do that their servers are just fantastic – nice, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable.

Here are our desserts (remember, we were on the DDP – no way we would have gotten dessert at this point in our food-filled day if paying OOP).

I got this apple tart thing, which was delicious. Too bad I was way too full for more than a bite of it.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2339.jpg

Laura got a bowl of the pears from the salad that she had so adored!

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2341.jpg

Liz got a moose.

We exited Maelstrom and the Fjording at a perfect time to catch Illuminations. We just watched in that crowded Norway/ Mexico area since we were there, it was starting, and we wanted to head to Future World after.

We did not have a great spot, it was crowded, and my camera is not that good, so here’s just one Illumninations pic.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%207%20Sept%2018/2435.jpg

The soundtrack is the best part anyway, so to replicate our experience, please open up iTunes and play your Illuminations track (we know we’ve all got one). :dance3:

Following Illuminations, we headed to Future World, but found everything to be ridiculously crowded and with terribly long waits. We did at least enjoy the sparkling ground.

Figment has such an old-timey feel to it considering you can see the "strings" holding up the Figments.

Huh, what's being spelled out at the bottom of the Figment scene? Are they letters?

How's the mushroom risotto with the filet? I know that they used to have the cream cheese mashed potatoes with it and that some DISers switch it out. Have you had both? Curious to know which one you prefer if you did have both.

Hehe, those gnocchi look like bugs. Delish!

Woohoo for the apple tart pic! I'm compiling a group of photos for my DFi since he doesn't really read TRs or dining reviews. I want him to know what some of the food looks like before we go since the menu descriptions on AllEars just aren't enough sometimes.

I've read about how others say that they can't get much done during Epcot EMH at night. If DFi and I do that during our Disneymoon, I'm guessing we'll have to plan on doing all the rides earlier during the day and just explore WS at night. That's all still open, right?

Whats the Circle of Life like?

The Fable is a great film about conservation! It's only about 15 minutes long, and it's really cute - the story is Simba teaching Timon and Pumba why they should be mindful of other species/ the rest of the earth. There's a cartoon portion at the beginning with them, and then Simba's explanation goes into real video footage from about 1994, which some complain is outdated, but I say is awesome!

Figment is the best! Still such a vintage feel even though it was relatively recently updated.

I loooove the mushroom risotto with the filet! The risotto is so good and creamy and truffley. Yum. I've only ever had the filet with the risotto, but I've tried the mashed potatoes on the side and they're awesome too. I don't think you could go wrong with either, but I can never see myself giving up the risotto. I think I'd get a side of the mashed potatoes to share, and stick with the risotto with the filet! :thumbsup2

Glad the apple tart pic helps you! I think it was the best dessert I've had at Le Cellier, so another thumbs up here. :thumbsup2

And yes, I'd try to get all rides in at Epcot during the day and then stick to enjoying WS during night EMH - it's definitely still open. :goodvibes

Next up it was over to Tomorrowland for a spin on Buzz. I am ashamed to admit that Laura somehow beat me on this ride-through! :sad1: I am generally the greatest at Buzz (but worst at Toy Story Mania), so this was a difficult blow to bear.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2510.jpg

Once we exited Buzz, we were delighted to find that we were privileged enough to be in the first audience for the first showing of the Carousel of Progress for the day! We just adore that attraction.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2514.jpg

We completed our tour of Tomorrowland with a ride on the TTA. It was a lovely ride, with the old narration, but with no waving below us! :scared1: We were quite outraged, but I must admit, there were not many people in Tomorrowland, so it’s not too surprising that we had no one looking up and waving back at us.

Next we made our way back to Main Street and stopped to grab some intense breakfasts at the Main Street Bakery, as we had several CS credits to use up.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2547.jpg

I got this ham, egg, and cheese croissant, and promptly discarded the salty ham and most of the cheese.

Laura got a banana, not pictured.

We sat outside the bakery and enjoyed the scenery, and the tons of people who were still pouring into Main Street at this late hour.

Once we’d finished our breakfasts, we made it back into Adventureland.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2551.jpg

Then we headed over to Splash and were delighted to find that we could ride without much of a standby wait at all! We didn’t even need to collect the FPs we figured we’d be getting.

After the Hall, we went to Columbia Harbour House to use up some more CS credits. None of us was hungry, but we were determined to use up those credits!

It was horribly crowded in there, but eventually we made our way up to the counters, endured the people who I will never understand who get up to place their orders and still have no idea what they’re going to order (after having been in lines for 20 minutes or so, having ample opportunity to look at the large posted menus :headache:), and finally ordered and received our food.

Laura and Liz both got the Lighthouse Sandwich minus the broccoli slaw – so it was just hummus and tomatoes.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2611.jpg

Laura also got the best side/ dessert around – HSM apples, plus baby carrots.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2612.jpg

I got the salad with fried chicken in it. I just had a few bites since I wasn’t hungry, but it was really good. Terrible for you, but tasted good.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2613.jpg

I got chocolate cake as my dessert and could truly stomach only one bite because I was so full, but this little thing was delicious! The cake was really nice and the icing was really dark, rich, fudgy chocolate. I never expected something so good out of a little cake in a cup!

The queue to check in was huge! But we didn’t have too long a wait to be seated after we’d checked in. While we were waiting to be seated, I ordered a Lapu Lapu at the bar and Liz got the Scott MC (or the Glowtini). Both were delicious, and the Lapu Lapu quite strong!

Dinner this night was not as great as ‘Ohana usually is. Chef Steven came out to talk to Laura about her food allergies, and said the sides were all safe for her to eat, and then basically ran away. Laura was fine with eating the sides, but this was not the type of interactions with ‘Ohana chefs (like Chef TJ and Chef Julie who we’d had earlier this week) that we’ve had in the past. The food was good, but service was really slow! Once it came time for dessert, our bread pudding was brought out, but there was nothing for Laura, as the chef had told us earlier there would be. It was so late at this point that we didn’t care to remind our server or wait for a special dessert, so we just left.

We had to get back to the MK for some nighttime fun!

We walked through Tomorrowland, but didn’t ride anything.

We made our way back to Fantasyland, and watched Philharmagic.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2767.jpg

Then it was time for Spectro, which we watched from Frontierland since we were already back in Fantasyland and couldn’t get back to Main Street in time for the start of the parade. It was a fine viewing spot except for a child who was pushed in front of us by his parents who was waving one of those light-up swords that strobes/ changes colors – I thought it was truly going to cause me to have a seizure. So we eventually moved away from that area.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2825.jpg

After Spectro, we dashed over to Thunder Mountain, and rode twice. Thunder is just so much fun at night! :thumbsup2 We saw the beginning of Wishes from Thunder, and watched the rest from the exit area.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2828.jpg

After Wishes had ended, we walked back through Frontierland and grabbed some cookies to go from the Frontierland bakery (had to use up those snack credits, and those cookies are the best!).

Then it was back to Fantasyland for a spin on the carousel.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2835.jpg

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2839.jpg

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2843.jpg

After the carousel, we were exhausted, but really feeling like taking a ride on the TTA, so we headed over to Tomorrowland and rode. It was a nice way to finish our trip – the TTA was our first and last ride!

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2844.jpg

We then sadly made our way out of the MK.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/UncleOrville/Day%208%20Sept%2019/2854.jpg

It was then back to the Poly and time for packing. We packed and packed, then slept a bit, and then left on the Magical Express early the next morning.

Thus concluded another excellent trip to DW. And the next one will commence in just 6 days! Thanks all for reading and commenting on this TR, and we hope you'll join us for the next TR and on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/VBsHustla) for our trip next week!

Woohoo for being first on Peter Pan! That must be so cool to just walk through the queue and board right away!

I like that they have the menu at Main Street Bakery. Makes it easier to decide instead of waiting to the last minute to see what's there. When I was at MK in April, a CM gave us menus for Cosmic Ray's, which helped so much because we were squinting to see everything!

OMG, I'd be so excited for HSM apples! Or ... I could go for that chocolate cake right because I'm having a chocolate craving!

I like the pic of the back of the train station. I don't think I ever really paid attention to it because when we're leaving, I think I'm just concerned about weaving in and out of the crowds. I need to pay more attention to appreciate my surroundings!

Haha, lucky Brenda! She had a good vacation then too!

Great pic of you guys squished on Thunder!

Woohoo for another trip! Make sure you post the link on this thread so I can find it!!! Can't wait to read that one too!

Sounds like a great last day in the MK! Too bad about the chef at 'Ohana but at least you got a really great chef the first few times. :thumbsup2

Yes, it is so cool to be first on Peter Pan! And the CMs are always so pleased and excited! :thumbsup2

I agree, it's hugely helpful when CS places have menus with items and how they count on the dining plan. I'm sure the pictures on the Main Street Bakery menu also make things easier for non-English speaking guests. Disney should definitely make them and hand them out at the doors of all CS restaurants.

Brenda Walsh did have a great vacation, and looked dapper in her tie the whole time.

I'll report back here after our upcoming trip to link to the next TR! :thumbsup2

Haha, yup - the great thing about taking so long to finish this TR is that our next trip is right around the corner!

The 'Ohana chef wasn't too big a deal, but he was definitely not as accommodating as the other great chefs we've had. Here's hoping we get a great one next week! :goodvibes

Hey guys!

I'm stoked you finally updated this TR- I've of course been DISing away lately since I found out we're finally traveling to WDW! I'm appalled that you all missed Oliver at MGM; the Imagineer luncheon sounded like quite the strange predicament! My mom was expressing interest in the lunch but I insisted that spending $300 on a Wishes cruise was far more amusing and a much better investment!

I was also inspecting the carousel photos in hopes of identifying the Joe Jonas horse equivalent. :cool1: Laura and I have picked out a horse in DL that is quite the Joe look-alike however you can only tell if you look at it from the perfect angle from behind. I must be properly prepared for the WDW carousel version.

I'll be following your upcoming storm of Disney tweeting for sure!

:rolleyes1 Sure, we're all set.... No, we're really terrible about preparing in advance. :rotfl: I've bought everything I needed to buy, like toiletries and ponchos, but no real packing has been done. I've got a couple of piles of clothes and some ideas for what else I need to bring, but inevitably I will be doing my packing on Friday night. Laura, I can be sure, will be doing her packing into the wee hours of Saturday morning. It all always works out in the end though, and we make it there with all we need!

I'm sure our barrage of tweets will keep you plenty distracted! :thumbsup2

Why, hello! :wave2: I've been so happy to hear that you have become such a power DISer/ researcher! Can you please convince Laura that she and I should go down to DW and meet up with you for the beginning of your trip? I am dying to go at Christmas, and it sounds like you are planning quite the excellent trip, which I would like to join in on.

Good choice on the Wishes cruise over the Imagineering lunch. I would certainly have done the same. :thumbsup2

There's a Joe Jonas lookalike horse in DL? :lmao: That is awesome.

Great crew and I can't wait for the next TR!

I really insist that you and Laura meet up w/ us at Disney! :woohoo: That would be super duper awesome!! Excellent, so I will continue to pester her. We're arriving the night of Dec 17th and leaving the morning of the 23rd to go check out Potter World and drive to Cape Canaveral. If I manage to score a Wishes cruise reservation (I feel like I'll need to be on the phone w/ Disney at 4am again for that one) then you both can of course just come along since you can bring up to 10 people or so for each cruise. You guys also need to see if the ride hopper app is accurate for wait times at WDW. I just used it at Disneyland this past weekend and it was actually *really* helpful and accurate! I've heard that "lines" is better (from touringplans) but you have to subscribe for $10 and I of course refuse.

Bon Voyage!!!! :wizard:

Woot, please do continue to pester her! That's awful that you have to be up at 4 am to make a Wishes cruise reservation! :scared1: Good luck!

I haven't heard of the ride hopper app. I'll look for it today and then check it out in DW and let you know how it is. I had Lines on my phone while it was still in a free trial and it seemed good. Of course, the free trial ended the day before we went on our DW March trip! So, I was never able to do any real-time comparisons, since I also refuse to pay the $10. I will gladly check out this free one!
