Would you actually take a bath in one of the tubs in a hotel? After a long day of walking in the parks I imagine a bath would feel divine, but I'd be afraid of germs! Do they disinfect the tubs between guests?

I've done ice baths after the half marathon and didn't feel like it was dirty. I trust the cleaning staff there, I have never felt like any part of a room I stayed at was dirty.

For eight years I lived in an apartment that had a shower, no bathtub.

When ever and where ever I travelled, I always took a nice soak in the tub.

I went with the assumption that the bathtub was clean and I enjoyed my siak.

I would not - a little because I don't know who or what was last there, but more because I just am not a bath person. Now a hot shower is something else.

I have always found my rooms to be very clean, but if you are concerned or would be uncomfortable otherwise, bring some cleaning wipes for the tub. The disinfectant kind, put them in a ziplock sandwhich bag and wipe the tub out.

I always feel like my room is 99.99% clean

On the DVC board many of the owners bring the dishwasher tablets and use them in the jetted tubs to clean before getting in -- I guess you could do the same thing with a regular tub...just fill it once with really hot water, drop the tablet in and let it sit for a few minutes, then drain, rinse, and refill.

Really as long as it isn't full of hot water all day long(like a hot tub) the chance of actually catching anything on a dry surface that is then filled with water would be pretty slim even if it's not microscope clean. I wouldn't worry about it.

This from a germaphobe. :rolleyes1

But their tubs are not at all comfortable. You won't be soaking for long anyway.

The tubs at WDW resorts seem to be very shallow, more suited for a child's bath than an adult. However, I've always found them to be very clean. Not a spot on the tub or the shower curtains.

I am a huge bath person! I NEVER take showers, so yes I take baths while at Disney.

But I am also not a germophobe at all so I have never even thought twice about it.

I never even thought twice about taking a bath at Disney! I'm sure the tubs are clean, don't worry about it and enjoy a nice soak.

I took a bath on my solo trip but I can't do it on normal family trips because someone is always needing to use the bathroom.

I don't worry much about germs and disinfecting and the tub seemed clean enough to me.

Thank you very much! I am getting close!!! But my Dr. doesn't think that I will go until after my due date!

I'm a total germaphobe, and I put my kids in those tubs every night for a good soak and de-germ session. Then we shower. In the morning, we are clean, grab a granola bar, to the parks before opening! I look, and they always are clean! I also recommend leaving a tip wit house staff, they work very hard and we like to show our appreciation. Enjoy your bath!

I always give my kids a bath at Disney too. I just bring Clorox wipes with me and clean it out first. Easy as that! They always look clean though and I even took a bath in them myself when we stayed at Old Key West (Jacuzzi tub).

No. Not because of any issue with cleanliness, as I find the tubs as clean as the one I have at home, but because I find taking a shower is much quicker than taking a bath. Which does mean, though, I prefer, if I can get it, a room with a shower separate from the tub, instead of the usual shower-tub combination.

The bathtubs are pretty clean at Disney. I have taken a soak in them all the time. However they are on the shallow side.

If they switched over to Jacuzzi style baths in the rooms I wouldn't complain.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I know they have them at Old Key West.

We do bathe in the DVC resorts all of the time. The regular resorts have tubs that are too small for me. I use sticky putty to temporarily block the emergency overflow so that the overly shallow tub can fill enough for me.

We travel in August so it's a little to "hot" for bathing. However, when my dd was little, I'd give her a bath as she was to young for showers.

I have no issues with the showers or bathtubs while at Disney. I stay in the DVC resorts mostly, but have always found them to be very clean. If you are really concerned about it, bring some Clorox wipes. :)

I love your Silly Putty idea!!! I've always just held a washcloth up to that overflow with my toes but the Putty idea is awesome. :thumbsup2

To the OP we've always used the tubs in the WDW resorts. I'm sure that they get sprayed with some sort of disinfectant when the rooms are cleaned and are probably cleaner than other things (like the remote controls or phones). I will say that the tub in the one bedroom at AKV Kidani was amazing because I was able to completely stretch out in it and I'm on the tall side (5'11"). Loved it!

We take baths too. I pack a sponge and a bath mat in our owner's locker so we can really enjoy our baths.
