Great 1st day. Ddi that parade used to be at HS in Orlando? I know they used to have a car parade, but we never go to see it. DH did though. LOL! Of the 3 of us, he could care less, but it was last year (2008)when Claire got sick and I was in the room with her most of the day.

Yep. We got the parade from DHS...I'm guessing they re-worked the show though as parts of the show have songs in French.

great photos Emma and Kyra looks so adorable in her snow white dress, what a cutie :goodvibes

shame about the Boo doll, I've seen them in our disney stores but it's just not the same as buying one from DLP, I can understand the tears although Daisy looks right at home tucked up in bed :) I can't wait to hear who else got added to the collection.

I'm loving the poster for Toy Story Land, I would have been excited too and I'm with Kyra on the gorillas, they'd freak me out too !

Can't wait to read some more :goodvibes

I forgot to mention that on our first day in the park we managed to catch some of Mickey's Party time and yes i will be the first to admit that its a lot better than i imagined.

My fave part is when they all learn to fly, the music for this is really catchy and i did find myself dancing along most days :rotfl2:

Here is a short clip i filmed, that i thought you might like to see.

Thanks Nikki, that Jasmine moment was worth the money just for the trip itself.

Its amazing how one CM can make one child so happy :wizard:

I never knew about the Birthday sticker till i was in City Hall sorting out her card, i know its not as good as a Birthday Badge in WDW but its still a great idea and they even replaced it everytime Kyra lost it and said to come back and get a new one anytime, they was lovely.

Been checking constantly for your next update :lmao: Really enjoy reading them.

About five years ago we had waited for the parade for an hour in extreme heat and had sat down until the parade started, eight of us. When it started we all got up and the people behind went nuts (all adults) :lmao: Trouble is they were not english so had no idea what was going on, even had to get the CM involved who basically told them to back off - not very disneylike .... the trouble was would you believe it she was staying at our hotel and the next day at breakfast she was sat at the next table :sad2:

I'm just uploading a video to youtube that i edited to a few high moments of the trip, i possibly could of edited it better but i gave up as i hate windows movie maker, plus i had far too many clips to edit into a 3 and a half minute song :lmao:

Sounds and looks like you had a fab trip apart from the rude people at the parade. We had someone move the buggy with Lottie in it last year which I was not impressed about! Loving Kyra's continuing fashion parade. Can't read anymore though as Freya has just figured out you can wear more than one princess dress at DLRP. Hey Emma,

More great additions tothe report!

Loads of gorgeous character photos with Kyra! I am so Jealous of Alice though, I have never seen her in the parks and she's one of the few I would do a scrum for now:rotfl::rotfl:

I do think it is ridiculous that you even had to ask for Ariel and Eric to come to your table! They should be the ones to make sure they meet and greet everyone esp as its the dearest place to eat and doesn't really have great food!:sad2: (in my opinion anyway).
It makes me mad when you try so hard and you turn up early and they use that opportunity to shove you in the corner because your only two people.. I find that happens a lot! However at least in the end you got to meet everyone and get lovely photos :goodvibes

I have to say I always love how you dress kyra in her dresses. I find a lot of parents put clothes under the outfit that just don't make it look good at all. but you always do it really well! I understand though parents either buy the dress in the park or are just afraid of the child getting cold though.

Great trip report so far! Can't wait to read more!:wizard:

Wonderful video. I know you told me before, but what do you use to do that? And where do you find the songs to include? I think I want to try and make one with pictures. I didn't take much video, because I basically suck at taking it. LOL! :confused3
I love the update as well. She reminds me so much of Claire with all her costumes!

I use windows Movie maker, and i basically use the songs i have either downloaded or have on cd to add to the video. Its quite easy to do, just import your pics and what song you want into movie maker and then add effects and stuff. My first slideshow i did sucked though :lmao:

Fabulous trip report Emma - I adore Kyra doing her Minnie pose :lovestruc.
You're so right, its wonderful when you little one is at the age to enjoy and still be awestruck with all the characters, it still makes me so happy to see my DD get that way when we're at DLRP :goodvibes.

I know they have a job to do but these questions should off been asked when i was checking in onto the Eurostar not on the train.

The reason it happens on the train rather than when you check in is because they are different organisations.

The people who check you at the station are french border police and so are basically interested in making sure it's ok for you to actually leave France.

The people who check you on the train on the other hand are uk border police (this is why you don't have to go through passport control when you reach st pancras / ashford) and are interested in making sure it's ok for you to enter Britain.

I don't know what the "rules" of french border control are, but I do know that UK border control have a specific duty to ensure that all children are being brought into the country "correctly" - this is why children can not go through the special IRIS scanners at airport arrivals because they need to be presented to an immigration official. It is this duty that would have lead to all those questions, so I wouldn't take it too personally :goodvibes

Conversely, I've had the scrutiny at CDG, by the passport control officers there, when I took my niece with us. She has a different surname to me, and I do think thats why they took so long over her passport, compared to ours, and compared to all other times I've gone through passport control at CDG.

Well maybe i wouldnt of taken it personally if others were presented with the same questions, the lady sitting in front of me was a single parent and her child had its fathers surname but never got asked, yet i did....funny that

Loved the report. That last video is great. Claire watched it and loved it too. Especially since it was a Hannah Montann song. LOL!

Ok, I kind of figured out the windows player to load pics on, but now for music. I have know clue how to download music on my computer. (I don't onw mp3 or ipod). Also where can you find Disney music for download. I want Supercalifragilistic Expialidoucious, and not sure where to find the real one. Not a ringtone.

aw a great last day and finish to the report! The photos are beautiful as always! love the way Kyra is perfecting her Minnie Mouse pose hehe! Very class indeedy!!:dance3:

I am sure it was annoying and upsetting being questioned as if you were a child kidnapper! You are right that that is probably why you were picked out and as you say its understandable they are doing their job but it should have been done before you got on the train and not afterwards!:sad2:

I can't wait for you to go back so we can have another great trip report! although I am totally jealous hehe!

Lovely to read the whole thing Emma!!
And just to try to make you feel more positive about the whole being questioned about Kyra's name being different thing, try to be grateful they do this. It means Kyra's dad theoretically couldn't leave the country with her without your permission. When she was 3 our niece was taken to Spain by her mother without BIL's knowledge. She is now 10 and he hasn't seen her since. Interpol are involved but because Spain hasn't signed some agreement her mother can't be forced to bring her back, and since her passport would be confiscated the moment she stepped foot in this country she is unlikely to be popping over for a visit. In theory, if these restrictions had been in place 7 years ago she couldn't have done it.
I know you were more bothered that they were checking you because Kyra is biracial, but if you think about it that could work the other way too and make them more likely to check Kyra's dad or anyone similar trying to kidnap (because it officially is kidnap if you don't have both parents' permission) their children. Just to give you another viewpoint.

That is not true, I don't need my DD fathers permission take her out of the country as we were never married.

I was never married either to Kyra's Dad, i do know that because he is named on the birth certificate that he has parental responsibilites (not that he has ever shown a interest in them ). But seeing as we do not speak i dont even have his phone number i don't see what business it is if i take DD on holiday or not.

I'm pretty sure if i went and lived in France with DD and we never came back he wouldn't even care anyway.

Sorry, I wasn't clear, I was meaning moving out of the country rather than going on holiday, which is what these restrictions are for.

I have just finished your report and loved it.... Your DD is so cute in her dresses and it looks like you had a great trip. It's nice to read a TR from someone who has been there so many times before cause I'm always worried that I'll be bored when I go, cause I've been there like 10 times or something... But now I'm just looking forward to going for christmas.

I know what you mean, having been 7 times in 18 months people assume i get bored of going so often, but in fact if i could go more i would. We go again in November so need to make the most of it as we are giving DLP a miss next year due to DD starting school etc.
