I have this goal and I hope I can someday achieve it! So far we have stayed at ASMU, CBR, POFQ, and CS. I know, I know I have a LONG way to go!

Just wondering if anyone else out there has this goal too.

Is there anyone out there who has reached this goal?

I have the same goal. I've stayed at quite a few but I have 7 more to go. Nine if you count the Swan and Dolphin. I'm sure we'll make it!

My DH thought I was the only crazy onewanting to do this.:) I have stayed in all the moderates, WL, WLV, FW, Poly, BC, BWI, BWV and AKL. So I only have YC GF CR and BCV to go. Well I might need to try Swan and dolphin. Will be at GF and BCV in Nov, so just have the all stars and 2 deluxes to go plus maybe swan and dolphin. oh I almost forgot I need to stay at OKW, but I have a ressie there too in Oct if all my days at BCV don't come through..
I would also love to stay in all the conceirge too but have only stayed at the one at the Poly.....

DH and I are working on it, but it's going to be a bit tougher since we just bought into BCV! We have hit about 8 different resorts now, i think.

Me too!

Have stayed at Dixie Landings, Caribbean Beach, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht and Beach Club and Fort Wilderness. So I have lots of resorts left to stay at!:D

Also have cruised on both the Wonder and Magic cruise ships. Hoping a third ship comes out soon!

My DH thinks my plan to stay in all Disney resorts is absolutely nuts. So I am glad to find out that I have company in the looney bin.;)

DH and I have this goal as well. Together we have stayed at:

GF, Polynesian, Coronado Springs and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I've also stayed at All Star Music and Caribbean Beach.

So that leaves (for me) All Star Sports and Movies, Port Orleans FQ and Riverside, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk Inn, Yacht Club and Beach Club and the villas (but I don't think you HAVE to count the villas as separate resorts, do you?) and I Old Key West and Fort Wilderness. I probably won't count Swan and Dolphin either since they're not owned by Disney.

And you know, I think meeting this goal will NOT be easy because there are some resorts that I just love, like the GF and Polynesian and it's going to be hard to choose Port Orleans over the Polynesian, you know??

But we are planning a couple of trips - October 2003 to Port Orleans Riverside and August 2004 to the Contemporary or Beach Club (or maybe we'll split our stay then if we go for two weeks).

I think it's a fun goal to have, though, don't you?!?

I thought I was the only one wanting to do this. Last year I added AKL, Poly and the BWI to my goal. This yr I am going to add, Hmmm, not sure yet but I am leaning towards GF and BC maybe add and extra day for the CR. I'll do it, not sure about swan and dolphin, those are not Disney hotels.:)

I have that goal too! Everyone thinks I'm nuts, but I'm almost done. The only resorts left are: Yacht/Beach, GF, Pop Century and AKL. Otherwise I've been to them all. Happy traveling! :p

Looks like I'm the looniest of all. I want to do this so badly. So far I've only stayed at All-Star Sports, but you have to start somewhere right. It's just really hard to save up the money with the exchange rate. Don't know where our next 2 trips will be but since I started this goal at 23 I figure I have plently of years left to reach it. :D

Hnymoon@Dixie

I'd like to try them all, but I think you can count the All Stars as ONE resort, seen one, seen em' all!:bounce:

I am not the only one with this goal in life. I still have to try the GF, WL (had ressies for the 4th of July but my computer crashed & had to use that money to get a new one...had to cancel:confused: ), AK, OKW and YC..... I am sure I will make it......;)

It's impossible to justify staying anywhere other than SoG when my parents are along (Dad is retired AF), but we've done other resorts when on our own, and snuck in nights before and after our SoG stays at other resorts to check them out. Looking forward to the SoG bump to Contemporary in December to add to our list:

PoFQ
AsSp
CBR
CSR
WL
SoG

Many more to go!

Well I'll never get a chance to stay at SoG so there's no point in counting that one in my goal. I'm not counting the Swan or Dolphin either.

We hope to eventually stay at all of them

We have BCV, BWI, BWV, Poly, GF, CSR, OKW, AS(all 3 of them) left to go!

Next June we are hoping to stay at BCV, BWV and 2 nights at one of the AS--so our list will get much shorter!

We have stayed at the GF, Polynesian, Contemporary, SoG, WLV, FW(this December), Dixie Landings, OKW, Disney Institute, ASMusic, ASMovies, Swan, Dolphin, BWInn, BWV, Yacht Club.

Need to do Port Orleans(whatever the new name is?), AKL, WL, Pop Century, Beach Club, BCV, ASSports, Coronado, Carribean beach and were done...??? ")

We also want to try all the Concierge...so far, Swan, Contemporary, BWInn and the Polynesian this August! Need to try ;>), GF, WL, Y&BC and AKL and the Dolphin.

If ya count the one resort as "done" then we only have the AKL, Pop Century, Coronado and Carribean Beach left.;>)

I had that goal and from the time it was built, have always wanted to stay at the Contemporary until I got there and visited it on my first trip. It is okay but just has hardly any appeal to me other than it's location. I am sure at sometime I will do one night there just for the sake of doing it. I am also not thrilled about the Fairway Villas. The bungalows are okay and the treehouse Villas seem neat. I would like to try Fort Wilderness though.
I still have to stay at ASMovies, AS Sports, BC, BWI, Swan and all the timeshare properties.

I have that goal, but the rest of the family thinks they've found the perfect resort -- yacht club -- and do not want to go anywhere else. This will be our third trip there, and we've also stayed at poly, po-r and cbr.

I am a time traveller from the future and have stayed at all of the hotels including a few that aren't even built yet (i.e. Figment's Lodge). Some of rides in the future are pretty cool too -- like the sixth remake of the Journey into your Imagination Ride. Just kidding, of course. ;)

I've only stayed at three hotels and have quite a few to go...

We have that goal also, and are almost there. Have stayed in everyone, including FW Trailers except:
BW Inn ( August 2002)
BWV
BCV
WLV
Shades of Green
Swan
Disney Institute
I remember my first trip in 1973. I took my 16 year old sister to the Contemporary. We stayed in the south wing for $29 per night.
We thought we were in heaven.

We are trying to do this as well, so far we have stayed at FW homes at the campground, camped at FW, BWV's, Poly, Contemporary, AKL, WL, AS Sports, CB, Dolphin...we have a long way to go, especially since we keep going back to our favorites and not trying any new resorts recently.

Michelle,
My husband and I stayed at The Contemporary in 1976 (I think!) It was $69 per night and we could not believe we were spending so much money for a hotel! We were in the tower with a view of the Magic Kingdom. It was wonderful.
I've stayed everywhere except the values and GF. Still love the Boardwalk more than anywhere else. Thinking of trying the teachers rate at The Dolphin though.

Happy traveling!

Melissa and I talked about it, and we decided two things.

We stayed at All-stars music once, and we are going to count that as the "All Stars" because we really don't want to stay at the other two.

We stayed at the dolphin once, and we are going to count that as "The Swan and Dolphin."

I figure you can make up your own rules on such things.

Other than that, we still have a few to go - CBR, AKL (we visited our family there, but haven't stayed ourselves yet), YC, and Disney institute. I'm not sure if we will be able to get the institute now until they re-open the DVC there; I don't think we will ever be able to stay at sog.

DR,
We make up our own rules too! Like we don't include most DVC resorts, for example, since we stayed at Beach Club, then we don't "have" to stay at BCV. So after this upcoming trip, it only leaves OKW, Pop Century, and GF. We are saving GF for the end. Oh, we may have to stay at Port Orleans Riverside or does it count since we stayed at French Quarter? So we are pretty close to the end.

We also have a goal of eating at every sit down restaurant. That goal is going to take awhile to achieve!

My DH and I have the goal but it's hard with DVC. We are trying to save the best one for our 10th ann.(which is in 5 yrs) any suggestions. A little info. we are going to renew our vows in disney then.

I've stayed at tree houses, vacation villas, Fort Wilderness. Golf Resort, OKW, AS Movies, Cont tower, Cont Garden wings, Poly, GF, WL, WLV, BC, YC, BWI, BWV, PO, DL, CS, CB, AKL, Disney HH, Disney Vero, DL Hotel, DCL Magic 6, DCL Wonder 5,
Never Swan or Dolphin, never will until Disney takes them back.

I've eaten at all the resturants at least once.

Been into the Magic Kingdom turnstiles at least 250 times.

Did I forget anything???

WOW Nemo87! That's great! Could you a pick a #1 favorite resort and restaurant? I'm sure there are different things you like about each different one but if you had to choose just one, which would you choose and why?

Inquiring minds want to know, ;)

Thanks!

I used to want to do this, but now I am hooked on a few different resorts, and I don't think I could not stay at one of them for at least part of my trip. I do love to split my stays so I can experience new resorts and try old favorites again. So far I've stayed at ASMusic, WL, AKL (twice), Poly, GF, and BWI. My next trip I plan on splitting my stay between the Poly and the YC. :D

Wendy-
I don't think you have to count both beach club and beach club villas, same resort. We have stayed at both Wilderness lodge and wlv, but we haven't stayed at boardwalk inn (we've stayed at bwv twice now) but we would still count "the boardwalk."

As for dixie landings = technically, they are one resort now, so if you have stayed at "french quarter" you wouldn't have to technically stay at "riverside" = if you did, then wouldn't you have to stay in both alligator bayou and magnolia bend, because you would be counting "parts" of a resort, right? Or for that matter, contemporary tower and garden wings.

We're working on the restaurants too, but we are breaking it down by theme parks and resorts-

So far only ASMo and CBR!!!

07-15-2002, 07:45 PM
Absolutely! Count me in!! As you can see from my sig line, my goal is a little more ambitious. I'm about 95% complete on all attractions and restaurants within the parks but far behind in resort stays since we didn't even stay on-site regularly until recently. I try to take in at least one restaurant from each resort as we stay in them. Altho' we visit WDW several times a year for day trips and such we've only made one trip to a resort once a year since '95. Boo-hoo!!

I definitely thought I was a rare breed as my dh likes to make fun of me constantly about it (until we get there!!). I'm glad to see I'm in good company here!!

I, too, count a 'resort' as one in name whether villas or otherwise. I started out with one of each of the 'sister' resorts in order to experience the area and amenities but I hope to go back and catch the other sibling, so to speak.

I would love to be able to qualify for SOG. I wish I had taken advantage of it when it was still the Disney Inn. Anyone want to take me with them on a stay?? J/K I also dread camping so the cabins will have to do. I'm disappointed to have missed out on the Villages and now even the Institute, I guess. We spent one night in Sports but I will try the others. Yes, what is the deal with Pop Century?? It will do for a one nighter I guess!

I do count S/D as they are on Disney property are they not?? I have the Swan checked off at any rate. Also, if I use d-r's methods then Riverside would be counted for me since I have stayed at FQ but I will still go there since it was separate when I started this quest.

These are the ones that I've done:
CBR - first one, w/o kids

Grosvenor - pregnant and had to cover the Hotel Plaza Blvd area, plus I coundn't get onsite that year !

YC - our all time favorite, first as a family, loved the Epcot area

CR - a monorail resort, wanted to do this since I was a kid, was not disappointed!

POFQ - first moderate as a family and covered the Village area, this place was great!

Swan - again with the Epcot area and all I could get at the time.

BWI - had been my dream ever since seeing it from the YC, loved it! Can you tell the Epcot area is our favorite?

AS Sports - one night but better than off site, plus it checked off AK area for me!

Polynesian - a lot of build up for this one like the CR, my mother actually had the nerve to stay here without us kids!!

CSR - to be crossed of in August. Can't Wait!!

The Ca Grill was never owed by Disney they lease the space to independent contractor. Just like Puck's, Rain Forrest, ect..

We want to try them all, too. It might be hard, though, because we made the mistake of falling totally in love with the Wilderness Lodge on our last trip and now I really want to go back there! The only one I absolutely don't want to try is All Star Sports. I'm just not a sports person and it looks really ugly. The pictures of Pop Century look pretty hideous, too.

GEM, I have to say I hate sports too but our only choice when we went from the values was ASSports. I must say I loved it! I wanted to go to Music but I think I liked Sports better once I got there. Music looked more run down and crowded. Just a thought for you.

I am really surprised to learn that. Has it been that way since it was top of the world? It is surprising to me, because to my knowledge there is no other restaurant in a wdw resort that is independently contracted (the restaurants at coronodo springs come to mind as being a little "different" and maybe under some sort of independent direction), and because you can make PS through cro for Ca. Grill, which you can't do for places like Pucks, rain forest, house of blues - for that matter, I also know that you can book group events at Ca. Grill through group reservations, which you couldn't do with those places, and through disney weddings.. I would have sworn that Clifford Pleau was a cast member - I could swear I remember reading that when he left for Darden. I wouldn't have been surprised if it was an independent financial unit within walt disney world, but I had no idea it was an outside contractor. This must be a unique situation that they have worked out.

Here is a quote I found about Pleau (who opened the restaurant in 1995) at http://www.asiacuisine.com.sg/Nacws/1997/9/166/

"He joined Walt Disney World Resort from California where he was chef of Bradley' Ogden's Lark Creek Inn. Earlier, he was part of the Disneyland Paris opening team in France. He says his experience in Disneyland Paris was 'like pursuing a master's degree in hospitality with the industry's top professionals.' "

And hey, I did find a blurb about leaving for Darden:
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/dining/orl-chow01020102feb01.story?coll=orl-caldiningtop

"the dynamic duo behind the California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Chef Clifford Pleau and general manager George Miliotes announced they would be leaving Disney to accept positions in Darden Restaurant's new business development unit. "

Again, I'm really surprised to learn this - do you know who the contractor is? I wonder what other restaurants they operate as well - maybe there are some other interesting places to try out.
