I just read on Mousesavers that the codes for Dec. probably won't be out til early Aug. We are going Dec 9-16. If we go ahead and book now with AAA, and then codes come out that could get us a better rate and better resort, can we cancel thru AAA and rebook without a penalty...even change resorts? Can AAA get us the same codes and book our trip for us, or if you go with codes, is it better to just do it all yourself? Thanks!

I don't believe you have to actually book thru AAA to get the discount. You can call WDW reservations directly and get rooms at the AAA rate. This way you don't have any package, just the rooms booked. You can cancel the rooms if you find a better rate and are able to book at the new rate. Just don't cancel the 1st ressie until you're confirmed on the new one!

Yep, SalandJeff is exactly right. :D You can book the AAA rate by calling 1-407-WDISNEY and just asking for it. Then you'll show your card at check-in. If a better rate becomes available all you have to do is call CRO and they will gladly adjust your rate. ;)

SalandJeff is correct. We booked the AAA rate ourself. They ask for our AAA number and said we would need to show our card at checkin. We had a AAA package but cancelled it and booked room only. Their packages(all packages really) tend to have stuff in them that we would never use so it was not a good deal for us. We have been so many times we just book ourself and stay away from packages. They tend to throw in stuff you will not use and are paying for anyway...smjj

You can book the AAA rate through CRO IF they have any rooms available for that rate. It is not a given that you can get that rate. Just like any other discount only a limited amount of rooms are available at that rate.
