First--yes, Emma is PRECIOUS.

Second--I can not believe they let her ride the Triceratop Spin (is that the name?) We never did make it to the Dino section of AK so fill me in, is it very twisty and turney?? I am just scared we will all get sick.

Thrid--I was all excited about the pretzel...then you did not know where you got it from...thanks alot!!! :rotfl:

Fourth---I LOVE spaceship earth!! With that being said...I never rode the origional (our first time at WDW was last year) so I have no comparison. What is different?

Fifth---Your pictures from the rides are just so funny. The photo people were probably cracking up. ESPECIALLY the Test Track one :rotfl2:

Sixth---Dinosaur the ride...is it too scary for a 6 year old...girl???

Seventh (and last one)---Do you prefer Restaurantsaurus or Pizzafari for CS at AK. I know Flame Tree is your fave. Just need a backup. My kids are 6 and 2 if that helps.

Le Cellier looks yum, bummer that it took so long and you missed Illuminations, but isn't it nice to walk around the WS when its after hours? We are purposely going to do Teppan at a late time and then afterwards just enjoy the quietness of WS :)

The script and speaker (Jeremy Irons) were much more intense. YOu couldn't help but be listen to him and be mesmerised and kind of scared at the same time. With Judi Dench, you feel like you'r ein her classroom and it seems kind of silly. Plus there are some little details that I miss, like more like the whole ending and the music that used to play. :(

The other people in the ride cars always laugh at us when we come around the corner and they show the picture. Most of the time, they have no idea that we posed!

Hell yeah! It's crazy scary! That said, look at the family in the front row of our car. They had three girls. I think it depends on the girl. It's up to you if you think she could handle it.

I've never eatean at either of those! I do like Flame Tree and I like the Yak and Yeti counter service.

Oh it was sooo good! We usually get the nachos from the cantina but when we got them this summer, they were different from how they used to be and not as good. The guac is now the meal of choice!

Epcot is the BEST!! And Emma was sooo cute in her little hat! It was a piece of crap, though. They had to exchange the first one because it got a rip in it but the second one ripped too. Just made very poorly.

When we got back to Virginia from the World in July, I had to zoom full speed ahead into getting my daughter's August 30th wedding planned and executed. It was a pushed up hurry up wedding because it was supposed to be next year, but her fiance got deployed, so they decided to get married right away. After I could finally come up for air, I had Emma's and Jenny's trip report links, but not yours. I recently posted a comment on the July Dis facebook page asking if anyone had heard from you and Emma gave me the links to your 2 trip reports. I'm trying to speed read them. 52 pages!! :lmao: gosh...

Day 4 ~ October 5, 2009 ~ Departure Day :(

We had to get up super early this morning. We had an ADR at the Crystal Palace for 8:05. Not only that, but we were checking out too, so we had to get up early enough to bring our bags to the Custom House so we could do our Airline Check-In and drop our carry-on bags with Bell Services.

Normally, this isn't too bad but at CBR it's a little more of a PITA because the Custom House is a seperate building and you cant' really want to it like you can to the food court/gift shop area. There IS an internal bus that goes around but still...ugh!

We packed our stuff up the night before so we were ready to go bright and early! I knew we couldn't take our luggage on the internal bus so I called bell services to have them pick up our luggage for us at 7am. The BEST part was that we got to ride with the guy to the Custom House so we didnt' have to go to the bus stop after all! MUCH quicker this way!

I was very nervous about the ME pick-up time because, even though this was only a 3-night trip, it was actually 2 reservations (because of the discounts, did I tell you I don't paid $89 a NIGHT, BTW!!) So because it was 2 reservations, they did NOT have a pick-up time so I had to call. They are so casual about stuff on the phone, don't they know I'm anal and want them to assure me at least 3 times that I won't miss my flight?! There's always something for me to worry about so this was it this morning.... Before you let the suspense get to you, I will say this was not an issue and the time the woman gave me on the phone was the time the bus came and off we went to the airport....but I'm getting ahead of myself! We have a whole day of MK ahead of us!

She man who brought us over to the Custom House in the van pointed us in the direction of the closest bus stop, which was Barbados. So after we checked our bags, we headed over there to wait for the bus to the MK.

OK, this breakfast was important! It was Emma's very first character interaction and I was soooo anxious to see how she would react to them.

So Tom and I got to the restaurant at exactly 8:05. The ADR was under my sister's name and even though they weren't there yet, I felt like I should check in. We have been late for an ADR once before and we lost had to wait over an hour and I did NOT want that to happen. I figured they were close but they weren't close enough! They called our name immediately so I had to tell them our entire party wasn't here yet. My sister called and said she was at the front of the park and would be there shortly....

As you can see...SHE LOVED THEM!! It was so precious to watch! She couldn't take her eyes off of them, even when they weren't at our table she was pointing to them. She was just so excited, and we were thrilled!!!

She did manage to eat some delicious puffed french toast among all that excitement, which is the sole reason for Tom to eat at Crystal palace....

Emma was 15 months on this trip. She's almost 18 now and it's amazing how different she is already! We really lucked out with the characters with her. A friend of ours has a baby that's the same age as Emma and they went around the same time and had the complete opposite experience! She HATED the characters to the point where she would scream bloody murder and they had to keep her out of all the rest of the character meals they had planned! I guess every kid is just different.

I know! This trip was way too short! 3 nights is the shortest we've ever stayed. The next trip is tentatively late June/early July. We want to go again after school gets out (June 24) and before out APs expire (July 19) so sometime in between there. I am starting my master's in January so I don't want to make any definite plans until I know that I'll be able to take (hopefully) a week and not fall behind. ...and as for the 180 day ADRs...if you miss any "must-dos" just look at it this way: it's an excellent opportunity to try some restaurants that you wouldn't try otherwise! I planned a trip once in 3 days. Decided I was going down on Wednesday and left Saturday morning. Obviously didn't get all the ADRs I wanted, but discovered some hidden gems :)

I'm trying to decide why I am being so slow with the TR of this very short trip! It's taking me so long to finish and I think it's because I want it to last! I already booked this trip before we even went on our honeymoon but now that I don't have a trip booked (just a tentaive) I think I don't WANT to finish it!!

I just spent the whole day baking cookies, which is sooo unlike me! But I woke up this morning, knowing it was going to snow all afternoon and night and just felt like cookies was the thing to do! So I made peanut butter, sugar, chocolate mint and, of course, gingerbread!

Now I'm going to watch all the Christmas specials. I've seen Elf probably 6 times so far this year (it's on A LOT!) and I was watching NBX on Disney but I decided on A Muppet's Christmas.

Some of my favorites are Rudolph, The Story of the First Christmas Snow, Charlie Brown, Garfield and Mr. Hanky's Christmas Classics. The last two they never play on TV but I own them! ;)

I was so happy! She played with it all night and wanted me to push her around...she hasn't figured out how to use her feet to move it yet. She would cry everytime I stopped, which was sort of annoying when I wanted to sit and have my coffee BUT I'm just thrilled she loved it so much!

She also loved the Hot Dog Mickey dancer! The second picture is her reaction when it was singing and dancing!

I'm making 'Ohana Bread Pudding tonight!!

I got the recipe from Allears. It's the bread pudding from 'Ohana at the Poly!! If you remember, we ate there on our honeymoon and snagged a last minute ADR for this trip!! I reeeeally hope it's good. I wasn't quite sure what kind of bread to use...I went with Challa because I didn't know what "'Ohana bread" was on the recipe. I goggled 'Ohana bread pudding and some recipes used Challa so what the heck!! It's been baking for 30 mins now...30 to go!!

Well, it's the new year and I'm starting my my master's degree program on Monday! I'm not super excited about it but I know it's the best thing for me to do in the long run. It will be a significant salary increase PLUS if I don't do it, our district freezes us at step 10 on the pay scale...and I'm on 7 now so.....

When my sister got married 4 years ago, I made her a scrapbook of old pictures of us growing up and I had to make TWO pages just of pictures of us isitting in this spot! It was funny to see how the landscape (and even the castle at times (PINK)) changed over the years in each picture. Since we hadn't been to WDW together since 2003, it was a MUST that we continued the tradition and took this picture.

Okay, I'm going to go on a rant about my wedding photographer for a minute. (I know, it seems random but trust me, it's related!) So we found this spot that we wanted our pics taken for our wedding in Perth Amboy. There used to be a ferry that went over the river to Tottenville, Staten Island, where Tom is from. This is the best she could do....

Now I understand she had to stand far away because the structure was so big...much like this picture I took of my sister near the castle. She looks small because she is standing right in front of the castle, which is far away.

Now I am no professional photographer, but I know enough about perspective to have her come back to me, stand with Tom and get another picture of them with the castle in the background! I was standing in the exact spot I was when I took the last picture, I just had the subjects move to see them better.

Now wouldn't it have made sense for our photographer to ask us to move up closer to the camera so she could still get the whole structure yet we'd be bigger?? I'm sorry, I know this is totally unrelated to the TR but whenever I get to those two pictures in my album, I am reminded of how a "professional" photographer was not smart enough to figure out the same technique!

So after hanging around the hub, we made our way to Fantasyland since Emma hadn't done any of these rides yet.

My sister, BIL, Emma and I went on it's a small world while Tom was entertained by a stroller situation just outside. It's funny how we never payed any attention to strollers until we had one with us! Anyway, he was intrigued at how quickly strollers were moved from random places to the correct spots. It's just one of those things that you would never notice until you were looking for it but there are CMs on top of EVERYTHING!

After that, we wanted to take Emma on the train so we took the little pathway to Toon Town. We almost didn't think we could even go that way because we had to pretty much walk through the Space Mountain construction. Tom thinks he's doing a nice job!

We got off in Frontierland, where it is always SUPER crowded in that little area around Splash and BTMRR! So we quickly got out of there and took Emma for her first ride on Pirates!

After Pirates, Tom and I were hungry for lunch so we said good bye to my sister, DBIL and little Emma for the last time! We very much enjoyed being with them but, like I said earlier in this TR, it was a LOT of waiting around and Tom and I are used to the GO GO GO style.

We are at Pecos Bill and then walked around some more, enoying the Magic Kingdom Halloween details.

We decided to walk through the stores on Main Street. I left Tom to run to the bathroom near Town Hall when it started to POUR!!!

Tom was at the corner by the Barber Shop and I was stuck near the bathroom! It went on for a good 10 mins before it let up and I ran for it to meet up with Tom. Pretty soon, the rain stopped completely and we decided we'd better just go back to catch out ME bus...

We had a little time, so we stopped back at Old Port Royal to have a quick drink before catching the internal bus to the Custom House.

The ride back to the airport was quiet and sad, as always...especially because it was such a short trip and it was torture knowing that my sister's fam was still there for a few more days!

Overall, this trip was like none other we've ever had! It was quite an experience to travel, not only with a baby, but with other people in general! Food and Wine was definitely the highlight and I will definitely try to get there again!! In fact, as soon as we got home, I looked up the dates for Rosh Hashannah for the next few years to see if they fall on a Mon/Tues or Thurs/Fri so we can make another long weekend!! Fortunately for me, it works out that was for the next few years!!

Hopefully, I will have another TR after our next trip, which should be end of June/beginning of July. The ride back to the airport was quiet and sad, as always...especially because it was such a short trip and it was torture knowing that my sister's fam was still there for a few more days!

So Tom and I officially decided that our next trip will be sometime over the 4th of July! We know it's going to be crazy crowded but we'll be ready! I would NEVER recommend going during that time to your casual WDW visitor but I think we can handle it. ;) I will post a link to the new TR here once I get started on it.

ALSO, I successfully made 'Ohana Bread Pudding for the second time tonight! I was afraid that the first time was just a fluke and it wouldn't come out good but it was soooo delicious!! This is going to be my signature dish from now on! Here are some pics!

Yes please, I would LOVE to hear about your experience. Let me tell you what my thinking was in deciding this, though.

There are many reasons why we decided to do it. First of alll, we have a very small window between the time school gets out and our passes expire...June 25th - July 19th. We figure it's going to be hot and crowded any time during that period. I know it will be MORE crowded on that actual 4th weekend but I think we are mentally prepared for that. Now we just need to decide if we are going to START our trip that weekend of have the 4th weekend be at the END of our trip, ya know what I mean?

Another reason is because I although I don't follow politics at all, I consider my self very patriotic. I swear, I cry when I hear the Star Spangled Banner! I would LOVE to see the fireworks, even if it's from the Poly beach on the 3rd. If there is EVER going to be an opportunity for us to go during the 4th, this is it! We definitely wouldn't do it if we had kids.
